I use them all the time and I have always had all my deliveries quick so I don't see what everyone who has reviewed below is going on about!
It's clear that the only people that are reviewing are the ones who have had problems. Every company has occasional problems!
Excellent company, I will sure continue to use them.
my daughter ordered some cards, paid with paypal, got confirmation email, 7 days later, birthday had passed with no cards arrived, emailed customer service who replied next day saying sorry but payment had been taken but cards had not even been processed!
we were left feeling embarrassed and upset
would not use this company again
my advise is use another company
I used to really like FP and regularly topped up my pre-pay as it was an easy, helpful service which allowed me to add my genuine signature to the cards and post direct to the recipient worldwide. Free postage on UK cards made it a fantastic option.
They then started offering free delivery only on 2 or more cards, fair enough as postal fees increased...they then took away the signature option, this was the only reason I chose them over other card sellers and so, there was no longer a reason for me to choose them over other options.
I asked for my pre-pay money back due to the signature issue. First I was told they planned to reinstate it in the near future, then when I wrote again, approximately 2 weeks later, they said they never planned to do this! This function was the only good thing about FP, which never had the best programme for making your cards, and a worse system if you wanted to alter anything before it posted.
I have been asking for my pre-pay credit back for over a month, each time they say there's a 'problem' with refunding and don't explain what the problem is!
I am giving them a couple of days, then complaining to the OFT as they still have my money! Not good!
Twice I have been in their store at Liverpool Street station and I had to squeeze out a ‘Thank You’ from your sales assistants. I’m not going to use Funkypigeon stores or online, as clearly their policy of when customers hand over their cash, their sales team have a policy of saying nothing. Even when I had to say to their staff “and Thank You”, which today’s sale girl heard from the roll of the eyes, still I didn’t get a peep. Even the gentlemen behind me didn’t get a word of thanks from her. Will things change, I dealt that very much, they are a young company with no idea of customer service.
I have ordered recently a mug and have it shipped to GErmany. After 10 days the item had not yet arrived. I have written few emails...One was answered with something Not related to my questions...the others had never been answered. I am very upset and angry ...will never used again and I will make sure that they will have bad publicity all the time...they are useless, very bad customer service...PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY IF YOU DON'T WISH THROUGH YOUR MONEY IN THE BIN....
Funky Pigeon lure you into a false sense of security by stating "Royal Mail claim 90% of First Class parcels are delivered the next day" and then mention that we must allow up to working 3 days for delivery for first class. So you think "Yeah, I'll risk it since it's 90% likely to arrive on time". BUT IT NEVER DOES. My "First Class" deliveries have ALWAYS taken 2-3 working days. I have my own Company and know for a FACT first class arrives next day and only around one in 300 of my parcels ever arrives late (so really there should be a 99.7% chance it would arrive the next day) THE TRUTH: They ship them from out of the UK (to save taxes) hence the rubbish postal service. They need to be more honest and stop leading people on. It's false advertising.
Ordered a birthday card with a gift card inside. The poor design of the site meant on confirming a different gift card showed. 3 unanswered emails meant I had to phone. Eventually they agreed to cancel the original incorrect gift card and send the correct one by separate cover. The original birthday card arrived 4 days late, and 10 days later there is still no replacement gift card.
Awful company, shoddy customer service (when I phoned initially they said they were still working through emails from Mothers day 2 weeks previous!! - that tells you how many complaints they get!)
WILL NEVER USE AGAIN.
I used FP last year, when I ordered 3 cards from them. Two were sent immediately, but unfortunately the third (which was the most urgent) arrived 2 weeks late. Their customer service was non-existant so said I'd never use them again.
However, I returned to them this year ( I DO like their cards!) for 2 mothers day cards. Same thing has happened again. I got a message to say they were dispatched the next day after ordering, but over a week later they still haven't arrived. Obviously, mothers day has been and gone, which is quite embarrassing.
Needless to say, I've learned my lesson this time and definitely won't use them again.
I used funky pigeon twice. First time i used it this time last year. I bought 2 wedding cards and a mothers day card. Both weddings cards were sent to me - i received them approx 3 days later. My mother received her Mothers day card 2 weeks later!! I was annoyed but thought perhaps it was a once off. 3 weeks ago i ordered a New baby card for a close friend which still has not been received. I asked them to resend it but instead they refunded me and said there is nothing they can do. How can they lose so many cards. Disgrace!! I am so discusted with the service!
I have just tried & given up AGAIN, trying to send my Mother a SIMPLE mothers day card.
I have tried and have had loads of problems before uploading pic's ect .....then adding text ect which cock's up the rest of the card.
I have a decent laptop and consider myself fairly savvy on computers but despite keeping this card order VERY simple (due to previous uploading problems) it STILL went wrong!!!
I did all my card, completed it with the delivery address, added a box of Thorntons Chocolates, clicked the link to pay.......NOTHING!!!......F5 to refresh the page, BLANK SCREEN!!!....Went back in, started again, re-did the full order, went to pay AGAIN......SAME THING!!!.
Like I say I have now had enough trying to use this site and went elsewhere with a simple website and ordered flowers instead.....This site is an absolute joke!!!
I order three cards recently for birthdays and Valentines day. I found the selection on the site to be very good and the ease of moving around the site to be excellent. Creating the cards was simple, even an untrained monkey could do it! Delivery was received within a couple of days and cards were in excellent condition. Well done Funky Pigeon, will be back for mothers day :-)
I bought a card for a birthday which never arrived. Rang customer services about 3 days later and was asked if I wanted them to send a replacement?? Its was a bit late for that so I asked for a refund. I paid by Paypal and was told the money would be back in my Paypal account within a couple of days but 9 days later I am still waiting. I have had to open a dispute with paypal but they haven't even replied to that! I will never buy from them again!!!
Bought a personalized photo calendar. Looked just as I thought it would and it arrived on time. Very satisfied!! The only negative thing was that it took a bit too long to customize the calendar pages on the website, but apart from that everything else regarding the purchase was perfect.
Initially I'd been quite excited and pleased with Funky Pigeon. I ordered two personalised cards for my mum's birthday, one that simply had a name added and another that had a photograph. I'd previously used other customised card services like Moonpig with good results, and I'd assumed that everything would run as smoothly as before. The text card arrived a day before my mum's birthday, but I wasn't all that concerned about the other one being late, as I'd given plenty of time and it seemed as though it would arrive on the day. Sure enough, another card arrived in the mail the next morning, but this time there was a nasty surprise- a complete duplicate of the same card with absolutely no hint that the card I'd actually ordered was coming. The photo card was the one that we were most looking forward to, as it was supposed to be from my three year old brother to his mother, complete with a picture of both of them together. He's extremely upset that the card he'd picked out was not coming and he had nothing to give his mummy for her birthday. Completely disgraceful service, even if a replacement is sent out it will be far too late and the damage is already done. I don't plan on ever buying from them again, and unless you want to take a gamble I don't recommend you do either.
I spent quite a while choosing the perfect and on the funkypigeon website, placed my order and purchased a £20 gift card along with it. Everything was going to plan when I relieved my order confirmation everything was correct.. then the following morning I relieved a despatch email which showed a picture of a completely different (extremely tacky) card to the one I'd picked, the card they had sent instead was in black and green with neon lights printed on it and the birthday girls name also printed repeatedly all over the card.. as well as a random extra s?! I contacted customer services immediately but two days on I am still awaiting a response, will never use funkypigeon again!
I recently ordered a Birthday card for my best friend and a Christmas card for my brother and sister in law. Upon submitting the order i realised that my old address was in the system. I immediately logged in to my account and clicked on their 'change dispatch address' form, which very helpfully doesn't work. You can type in the new address, but there is no submit button to action the update.
I immediately called the company but customer services were closed. I also emailed them and sent on online form. I received an email back the next day to say it was too late to change the address and there is nothing they can do. They also said as it was not their fault and no refund would be sent. I argued that the fact their online system doesn't work, is definitely their fault, and it is also their fault that dispatch teams work faster than customer services. I have been met by silence.
Would recommend that nobody uses this company. Wish I had checked this site before placing an order!
I recently sent my Grandson a personalised Dr Who card for his 7th birthday. I also bought him a Dr Who book because we both like Dr Who so he could see I had linked everything together for him. I booked it to be sent on the Monday to arrive in plenty of time for his birthday on Saturday. I was bitterly disappointed to find out when I arrived it had not arrived. On checking with Funky Pigeon.com they said it was 'stuck in their system'. They could not explain any further. They also sent the card out late and charged me. They gave me £5 as a 'good will gesture'. I've now asked them to close my account.
Thought I would give these guys a go but unfortunately due to the website not being very clear I ordered 26 Thank you post cards which came pirnted up with my own home address on the back. I called their customer services to see if they could help me but was told there was nothing they could or would do. Cards are now in the bin and I am £25 out of pocket. I wont be going back to "Funky Pigeon"!
Ordered a personalised picture card for my husbands first fathers day from our bump, by the time it reached us it had been ripped open by customs even though it stated on the envelope clearly where it had come from.Was very dissapointed as husband also picked up the post that day and it totally spoilt his surprise :( personalised writting was also not very good quality, could hardly make out the ink it was printed with.
Im a very proficient PC user, but the controls for adjusting uploaded pictures was awful. Used Moonpig instead and it worked perfectly without me having to use an external program to crop and resize my pictures.
The selection of cards was good, but if you cant personalise your cards exactly as you want them, it makes the whole point of the site/company useless

I did order the b-day card on Funky Pigeon with personalised front page and inside as well. Received the card which I never ordered, front page was a real mess, they used the name of the person 3 times in total and it looks hillarious. Now my friend will miss her sister b-day just because of somebody mistake. Human or system error.
Whe I did write the email to the customer service, it came back as undelivered.
They are uselles, they do not comunicate.
Purchased and paid by Paypal on the monday ready for delivery to my daughter on the Thursday (her 21st Birthday!) Thursday arrived....No cards or presents! And a Very Upset Daughter.......
I logged back on to my funky pigeon account and still sat there in my 'basket' my goods waiting to check out. I paid again and logged out. Then was notified by paypal that I appeared to have paid for the goods twice? I checked and I had! £108 Funky Pigeon now had of my money and cards or presents +no happy daughter! I contacted F***** Pigeon who said they would 'Look into it' I had a call back saying that there was a problem with people paying by PayPal....and could I pay using another form of payment? Err No, you have the money in your account now sent my goods and give me my overpayment back.!!! My advice....Use Moonpig.com not Flappy Budgie.com......Very Annoyed!
I have to say I have never had a problem with Funky Pigeon. I have ordered cards for Birthdays and for other events. The cards are nice and glossy too, so no complaints on quality. My Christmas cards took a little longer than normal to arrive but they still came within the three days that they state on their site.
All in all for the price and service this is a great little personalised cards website. Recommended!
