I haven't had a chest of drawers for 5 years now so I bought a full bedroom range with the money received from my wedding a couple of weeks ago. It took a while to understand how the pieces were fitted together, but soon me and my husband put all 6 items together and they look beautiful. They are made of good quiality, thick wood and come with plenty of screws etc and lovely external fitting like black metal hinges. They have made my house look wonderful and the price was fantastic - less than £700 for 2 chests of drawers, wardrobe, bedside table, coffee table and flat screen TV unit. The communication from the retailer was also brilliant as they kept in touch regarding the status of my order all the way to delivery. Thank you!

AVOID AVOID AVOID

I placed an order on April 23rd 2012 with an expected delivery time of between 2 to 4 weeks. 3 days later I get an email to say one of the items are out of stock and should be with them early May 2012 and that they will keep me informed - they haven't. I've emailed them several times over the past couple of weeks, with my emails being ignored UNTIL TODAY! It turns out my entire order is being held back due to one item being out of stock - WHY? I'm sure it's quite easy to despatch the items that ARE in stock in order to avoid p***ing off a customer that has spent nearly £1200 with them, i.e. ME! It was only then that I was offered a split delivery after finding out it would take until JULY to get to me BUT I would have to pay a £25 surcharge for the missing item to be delivered. I'm sorry, this is unacceptable. Furnishing Homes cannot guarantee me a delivery date for the items that ARE in stock and I am now getting rather bored with them. I have asked several times today to have my order cancelled but a lady called Ramona keeps avoiding the issue in her reply. I WANT MY ORDER CANCELLING AND I WANT MY REFUND IMMEDIATELY OR I WILL BE CONTACTING THE POLICE!!!

Received our furniture

The quality is brilliant, and looks really well made. Had a bit of a struggle moving the handles round (they arrive on inside of the drawers) but once i had done that it was brill. Would use again, furniture looks excellent in our room and our friends have complimented us our furniture!

Wait Wait Wait

Ordered and PAID for furniture on 4th Feb. Told out of stock. Nearly 4 months later told furniture in stock on 14th May,On 16th May told sorry stock error was a made would now have to wait until Mid to late June
With companies going under every day it is not worth the risk of having to pay upfront and then have to wait wait wait.
Nowhere on the site does it state waiting times for out of stock items could be this long. I am not surprised they do not publish a telephone number.

What's not to like?

The site was easy to use and the online help function responded very quickly in a prompt and professional manner. I would definitely use this site again especially if they expanded to stock, say, bed linen, etc.

Great selection and seem good prices

Have been looking for bedside cabinets but only ones I've seen that I liked were £200+. Thought the selection here was great, and good prices - though haven't received goods yet so I guess the quality mifght reflect the price I'll be paying! Very helpful & speedy response from cusytomer services when I contacted them regarding the possibility of collecting the items

Absolutely awful product and customer service

Furniture covered in scratches, dents and screws missing, in one word sub-standard. Complaint took weeks to get anywhere, eventually decided to return the wardorbe and bedside cabinet, only good part of the whole transaction was refund was very prompt. I would never purchase anything from this company again.

They can furnish my home anyday.

I have reservations whenever I buy anything off the internet, and until I have recieved it I wonder if I have done the right thing.
This was my first furniture purchase and on opening was so pleased that it matched the rest of our oak furniture.
Quality is good and the overall contact from Furnishinghomes was excellent. Was updated at every procedure. Delivery was on time.

a nightmare !

ordered 2 x Boston 2 drawer bedside cabinet and 1 x Boston 4 drawer chest on March 6th .
after 1 st email : stock will be available by 1 st week of May
2 nd mail :stock will be available by end of May

They suggested to me a replacement , more expensive of course accepted to pay £ 30 difference ( as a good will gesture from them as it would cost more )
Recieved these new items by a " cowboy carrier driver " who literaly dropped these furnitures from the back of his van on the floor: A criminal !
He refused to take them back .
Unpacked these items and found them in a dreadful state .
the saga continues ......

Regarding the availability, please note these are the dates from our supplier. The stock availability changes very often, we do not specify on our website the items are in stock. We usually advise our customers to make stock inquiries before placing an order online.

Regarding the damages caused, we raised an official complaint to the supplier/ carrier and arranged a replacement. Please accept our apologies. This problem will be solved as soon as possible.

fast delivery but...

The service was fast but I was not notified of when the delivery would be made. I received a text message mid morning to say delivery was due soon but it turns out that the delivery was happening at the same time I received the text. I was not home at that time and a neighbour had to receive the delivery for me, this was an inconvenience later as I had to get someone to come and move the item to my house for me. If I had been notified in good time I could have been at home or arranged for someone to be there. This puts me off ordering again.

Delivered On time and item as described!

I was really pleased that the furniture arrived at the time that I had been told, the delivery guys delivering were efficient and polite, even though it was a very long day for them rainy weather. The item was exactly as described and we are very pleased with it. I would recommend this company.

Free delivery to my area was great

Furnishing Homes was excellent from the start. Excellent value compared to other companies I looked at and free delivery to where I live in scotland was an added extra. Would recommend (as I already have) furnishing homes to friends and family.

One product excellent. One product damaged ..

I'm really pleased with one of the products purchased..However one product had a damaged part and there is no phone numbers available to call and rectify quickly.. The process entails sending and email and waiting...and waiting... and er waiting.. whilst all the other parts of the wardrobe are all over the room waiting to find out if the whole box needs sending back or they will just replace the faulty panel... Very frustrating as the other item ordered is assembled and looking great! Excellent website and description of products.. emails to follow up order and delivery details.. very good delivery and products well packaged to ensure safe delivery (even though in well packaged box the wardrobe panel was already obviously damaged!) Good instruction booklets for putting products together but definitely needed an extra pair of hands by an experienced person to help put products together.

APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!

One of several items delivered, a £550 double wardrobe was badly damaged. Two months and several emails later I still have a damaged wardrobe ! No collection, no refund and No wonder there is no telephone number on their website !! Appalling customer service so Caveat Emptor... Let the Buyer Beware !!!
Such a pity because other items were good.

Flat packed furniture - easy to assembly!

Furniture is of the best quality, not difficult to put together. Will be buying more for the bedroom would highly recommend to friends and family. Looks great when built just what it described on internet....very pleased.

well begun is considerably less than half done

So you get on line, compare prices, find the one that you want at the right price, they take and confirm the order, send me lots of emails to reassure me then.................tell me it is out of stock and can't be delivered for at least 6 weeks, rather than the 5-15 days it (still) says on the website.

We'll see when they take my money!

I just checked my account - they have taken the money - let battle commence


Further to Furnishing Homes response: they informed me by email that they normally ask people to check delivery before ordering - even though they have no way for you to do this! Clause 2 of their terms and conditions states 'If your order has a lead time of more than 4 weeks, you can opt to pay 10% or other deposit amount. In these circumstances the balance of payment will become due once your goods are ready for despatch.' but again there does not seem to be anyway of doing this - hence they have now cancelled my order! We will see how long it takes for the money to be refunded.


Ok, they haven't cancelled my order, and they have refunded 90% now - getting better :-)

Today I noticed that my deposit has been refunded, I emailed asking them why and received the response below:

Thank you for your email.
The full refund has been made due to your constant reviews in which you have shown concern that we took your money without delivering your order and that we haven't been in touch with you. We now proved that we are serious company and that when a customer is unhappy with our services we do not take advantage of their funds and that we prefer to issue the refund in order to avoid any inconvenience.

You can make your own mind up about whether you would like to deal with them

Great service as usual ...

Easiest flat-pack I've ever made!

I've put loads of flat packs together recently as we just moved. This has to have been tops for clear instructions which worked. The drawer runners are already attached which saves tonnes of time. I put it together on my own in less than 1.5 hours. Also, it arrived in less than 2 working days.

Product still not delivered after 3 month delay - blamed on on-going delays from supplier

Totally unacceptable. They have taken my money, promised to deliver within a set time scale and now, 3 months later they are still apparently waiting for stock from supplier.

Awful experiance. Damaged product delviered twice!

Ordered a sideboard from Furnishing Homes. The first sideboard delivered had a big dent on the corner, like it had been dropped. It took over 2.5 weeks to get it collected, after numerous emails. They refused to call me and have no contact number. They blamed the courier company that they use and also the suppliers. Replacement arrived this morning and it has a massive hole in the back and chipped on the side. I am so disappointed and have had a massive piece of furniture sitting in my living room in a box which I cannot use, taking up so much space. They now are going to collect it and refund me because there are no more sideboards in stock and would take 10-12 weeks to get a new one delivered. Shocking experience and would definitely not recommend them. Waiting for my complaint to be picked up by 'the manager.' They managed to pick the phone up to call the courier company to arrange collection, but couldn’t find the decency to call me to discuss the awful customer services I had received. Really upset about this.

DISAPPOINTED

Hi Ramona, You led me to believe you could delver a Tempo sofa in 5- 15 days but now tell me it will not be available until mid May. You have asked me to to let you know how I want to proceed and I have asked that you cancel the order and refund the payment taken. No one is answering my emails and a check at Companies House shows the company has been DISSOLVED. Can anyone shed any light on this. If this is true why is the web page still trading and taking orders.

Lovely chairs ...great service

I Was very pleased with my goods and the service throughout.I was a little worried that there was not a telephone contact number, as i had never come across this before, but not a problem so yes i would recommend furnishingHomes to my friends , who all love my chairs. sorry but we were not empress at all we are now waiting for our money back to be email that your goods are in stock waited 3 week to be told that i would have to wait another 4 7 weeks was not funny it ithink it is crap

Please note that the reason your order was delayed is due to a misunderstanding between our supplier Seconique Furniture and the courier company. Your goods were damaged during collection, so we had to reorder them hence the new timescales.

Sooo much choice!

On the spur of the moment, i decided to buy a new sideboard and had a couple of happy hours going through many many sideboards of different shapes and sizes. Eventually ended up at furnishinghomes and wished i had found it earlier. Found the sideboard i was looking for and ordering was really easy.

Disappointed with new delivery date!!

After placing the order and being led to believe that the order would be with us in 5-15 days it now appears that it will be at least 8 weeks before the order is back in stock.

Delivered Quickly, furniture looks good

Got Delivery in about 4 days, was a bit of a pain putting together and is slightly more flimsy than i thought however it looks good and is only for the spare room.

Do Not expect to have your money returned if you cancel your order

I ordered the Santana Reclaimed Oak TV Stand on 31st Jan 2012 and was informed that it was out of stock and would be available in 4 weeks which at the time was fine. A month later i received another email stating that the item would be delayed by another 4 weeks at this point i asked for a refund and to cancel the order. Another 4 weeks on i then receive an email saying that the order is now canceled. So i emailed them stating that i had canceled this 4 weeks previous and asked why i had not been refunded to date. I was informed they were sorry and i would be refunded. However in this time the original card i placed the order on have expired and they were unable to process the refund and asked for bank details instead to refund to and had stated the money would be received within 3 working days. This has not been received and i have contacted them yet again to request my refund to which they replied again that it would be yet another 3 days. Over a month after canceling this order they have failed to return my money and i totally believe at this point that they have no intention of doing so. I have stated to them that i will seek legal advise over this if my money is not received in the stated time of last email, to which i have had NO Reply. I will be contacting the Direct Gov consumer website to report them and be seeking advise on how to get my money back!!!

POOR

I ordered the Boston 1 drawer wardrobe only to be contacted by customer services to say that the product was not going to be available until 28th May (7 weeks away). Upon replying to the email I have heard nothing since. As this website does not offer a phone number to call I am having major doubts as to the validity of this service.
