These people do not respond to any emails and have no phone number on their website to call. They have had my money for several weeks but I have not received the goods and no answers to any of my 12 emails. Are they a fraudulent operation or just plain useless and rude? I have contacted VISA for a refund and to report my suspicions about them, and asked Google to run a check on them.
Do not even look at this website, they have not delivered the item i have paid for, claiming not in stock. I have escalated to a claim with paypal and have notified my credit card company. They do not have a phone No' to call, i did find a Mobile No on hunting through websites which guess what "it has been disconnected". They do not respond to e-mails. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!STAY AWAY DO NOT USE AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have now received a full refund through Pay Pal as this company could not be bothered to respond to mails. My review of FurnishingHomesuk.com remains the same.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! They report bad reviews when every word people speak of is the truth!!
Had a horrible ordeal with them when I tried to order a dining set months ago. I even called up in advance to double check it was in stock and they said it was and would be dispatched the same week and that I could choose when to have it delivered from the options displayed when checking out. After placing my order and taking time off work for my designated day of delivery, it failed to turn up. It took a lot of attempts to get back in touch with the company via both telephone and email before they told me apparently the dining set was damaged in transit and had to be returned the their warehouse. They were now suddenly out of stock and had to wait for more stock to come in from somewhere in Europe. They told me they would be in touch to arrange a new delivery date but it would be soon as they were expecting new stock to come in within the next week or 2. Waited 3-4 weeks and still nothing. Called multiple times, emailed, sent messages using their website's chat and message system. The amount of time and effort I used just to get in contact was ludicrous - not to mention the day's holiday I had already taken to wait for the failed delivery the first time round!
After failure to tell me when a dining set would be available to deliver and having waited for about 2.5 months now and constant back and forth and they only replying when I threatened legal action, I finally decided to cancel and ask for my refund. An email was sent saying that there was a change in my order and to log on to my account to see what was different. It looked like they had placed the order again! And so back to the calls and emails asking them to explain exactly what was going on and where my refund was. They finally replied saying that a refund had been issued from their end and would take time to reach my credit card. Satisfied with a refund on its way I began posting reviews about this fraudulent company. They then got in touch with me and said that my refund was now put on hold until I removed the negative reviews I had written about them!! I was blackmailed into receiving my own money back that I had every right to claim back!! Unbelievable! I was forced to remove the posts and still no refund came from them. I had to get in touch with my credit card company and they opened up a claim and I received my refund from them, not this company!
This was months of hell! Far more hassle than it was worth and this company is a perfect example of exactly how NOT to run a store! Terrible service, hardly any correspondence unless legal action was threatened and no refund when I was entitled to one! Strongly suggest DO NOT USE Furnishing Homes UK! They are con artists that take your money and then wait until after the 30days protection from Paypal so you cannot claim your money back from them! Luckily I paid with a credit card and that protected my purchase, anyone else would have been completely out of pocket!
If some odd, world-wide disaster left Furnishing Homes UK as the only furniture retailers left on the planet I would go into the forest and gnaw down a tree with my teeth and fashion it into a table by clawing the hard, unyielding wood with my fingernails until they were ripped out and my fingers bleeding and ragged stumps, rather than deal with this company again.
After almost a month of stress, constant seemingly ignored or misunderstood emails and unanswered phone calls I ended up without the item I ordered, and had wasted a day at home waiting for a non-existent delivery.
I did however, against all my expectations, get a refund cheque which didn't bounce - so credit where credit is due.
So thinking I'd give the company the benefit of the doubt, I ignored the negative reviews and ordered. BOY do I wish I hadn't? Firstly, when ordering you select a date. This may as well be anything. When ordering I picked Monday. However, by Monday I'd received no information with regards to what was happening to my order: no dispatch email, no nothing. So I go on their 24/7 chat and ask where it is, only to be told delivery is expected between 2 and 4 on Tuesday. One day late but fine. Tuesday comes and goes: no delivery. So wednesday morning I email and get no response. Then I go onto their online chat again and get ignored and send numerous messages only to have the chat shut on me because they're getting no response. Then I get an email later in the evening saying their courier damaged it would I like a replacement product. Quite frankly, this retailer is NOT worth the hassle. Sure some people have had quick service and wickedly cheap items, good for them: you won the russian roulette that is shopping at furnishing homes uk. For the majority, it's a world of unanswered emails and no news of where your items are. I will never place an order here again.
I ordered a coffee table and was told it would be delivered on Jan 14th as requested and that I would hear from them regarding a delivery time slot. Never heard anything, coffee table never turned up and I'm over £225 out of pocket. I've been told that the courier company "attempted" to deliver. WHAT?!!! Lack of contact regarding my delivery is not acceptable, especially when I've taken the time off work. It would appear that the courier company is no use, don't waste your time or money with this company, it's not worth the hassle.
Ordered a dining table online end November for £284.99. Weeks of errors and delays with payment processing and delivery. Eventually received the table, assembled it and found it to be damaged in several ways. Like others, we were given excuses that this is a manufacturing problem. We tried to get them to dleiver a decent tabel in time for family Chirstmas. No result. We are now demanding a refund under the Sale of Goods Act 1979. We;ve also comlained to Trading Standards. Amazed they're getting away with this. We all need to put pressure on Newcastle Trading Standards to stop them,
I hope this is of some use to anyone intending to buy from Furnishing Homes UK.
Having been through the same experience [personal information removed] as so many others, I now know their business 'model'. Furnishing Homes don't have a huge warehouse packed from top to bottom with furniture goodies, they, and many other on-line furniture retailers, simply have a suite of offices, some poor lowly-paid youngsters to man the phones and a web-designer. All they do is take your order, take your money, wait for enough people to order the same item and THEN try to find a supplier for that item. Unfortunately every other on-line retailer is trying to do the same so it's no wonder so many items will never be delivered. But of course they now have your money and can hide behind the 'Distance Selling Law' for 30 days AFTER you ask for a refund. We were lucky and got our money back, but according to one of [personal information removed] answers, this company IS in financial difficulties, I can only think that many people will lose their money quite soon as they are bound to go into administration in the very near future. I have forwarded my experience to Watchdog and urge you to do the same, It's only by taking this action that the on-line industry will have to clean it's act up.
