The company stole my money when I asked to return a bed they simply told me to **** off and sue them if I did not like it.
Please NEVER buy from these people read the reviews here and go elsewhere.
OMG! I wish we had read the reviews of this company before ordering from them.. Last weekend we ordered a bunk bed (clearance stock for £160 ) - we were eager to save some money on a bunk bed and this seemed like a good deal with free next day delivery guaranteed we order it with delivery for Tuesday. Took a day of work to stay in for the delivery. Panther turned up and delivered the item with a couple of Polish and Hungarian men which couldn't find the place on their Tom Tom. After a few hilarious phones calls with the driver's mate trying to find us "Please, where are you?? You not on Tom Tom, I know not where you are, Tom Tom not find you, we be 20 mins" (90 mins later they turn up!).
Another 10 mins for driver to get order up on his Samsung smashed screen mobile - "oh not working, like Tom Tom!!, Wait I get paper invoice"! (don't know why he didn't do that in the first place). Anyway, I check the invoice - yes three packages present, signed for it and and off they went following their Tom Tom, dissapearing into the distance over them hills singing happy Polish songs having successfully delivered our bunk bed.
We set about unpacking and the packing was certainly a bit shabby, I said to Jane, I hope the instructions and screws are in one of these packages! Sure enough, we took out the 30 pieces or so only to find the instructions and screws were not included!! Now this was only the beginning of our problems as we needed this bed assembling to receive two foster children in a couple of days time! Several phone calls later, passed around from pillar to pillar, all we could get was, "we will have to get hold of the warehouse to see if they can locate the box with the screws in it and we will get them to you, it may take a couple of days". No good to us we have to have a workable bed up in two days! "sorry all I can do is pass this to our investigation team and they will INVESTIGATE IT!". Raised voices followed, Jane was at breaking point with frustration and it was decided that the best option would be for them to cancel this order rather than waiting to see if they can find screws with no guarantees of them all being found. So passed to the cancellations department the item was cancelled then passed to sales department had to reorder another bed. We were told we would send it tomorrow and collect the other at the same time so we would have it WED in time to get it up assembled for Thursday. Off course, guess what? It didn't arrive!! And in calling them they just before noon they stated we don't know why you were told you would have it today as it wouldn't have been possible it will only come on Thursday - though they wouldn't guarantee it. Neither will will be collecting the other one today and we cannot refund your money until we receive your returns!
We asked for a cast iron guarantee that we would receive it on Thursday as we had completely lost faith in this company, the operator said they would ring us back (this was lunchtime yesterday) to confirm it would definately be delivered - off course they didn't call back. At this stage (later in the afternoon), Jane was so pissed of with them and worried about not receiving it she sent an email cancellation and drove out to IKEA to buy one!
Of course this morning, we received the email to say the replacement bed has been despatched and on its way - despite the fact we emailed them to cancel it!! These useless turds!! SO I had to ring up again for 30 mins from my mobile 35p a minute) to be kept on hold hold hold, their refusal to call us back and their inabilility to cancel the delivery, "oh if they can't deliver it because you can't be in they will take it away and attempt delivery again the next day".... errmm..."don't you know understand guys we have cancelled it, we don't want your bed, don't bring it and charge us for non-delivery just give us back our money and some compensation for all the stress and loss of earnings you have caused us!"
Two days off work, probably going on £30 in phones calls to their money grabbing 0871 number, a headache and a completely distraught female in da haus! Now they have £400 of our money which we are no doubt going to have problems getting back ! That battle hasn't even begun yet!!!!
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES BUY OF THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE A BUNCH OF USELESS ...!!
I received a table (£281.36) on the evening before my holyday.
I opened the boxes 9 days later and the item was badly damaged.
I wrote to the customer service: they offered me a new table or a refund. I accepted the new table.
Then I had to chase them for one month: they kept saying that they could not open the photos of the item, that they wanted more information about the original packaging, etc.
Last week they wrote me that they are not responsible for the item!
How come? It's not what is written in the Sale of Goods Act 1979!!!
And why having fun with me, pretending that they are really sorry, that they want to replace it and so on? I think they are idiots!
This time I am really fed up with this kind of retailers and, although it can be expensive, I will bring them to the County Court!
I bought a table and chairs online for £181....I bought it because the web site said it would be delivered within 2 days ...I placed the order on a Saturday and paid by debit card. On the following Wednesday no delivery ..when I called to find where it was they had no stock and wouldnt for 6 weeks ...the whole point of ordering was that the web site said delivery within 2 days . I cancelled and asked for a refund of my money which they had taken immediately. I was told it could take upto 3 working days for the refund maybe 5 ..after 5 working days I sent an email asking where my money was..no answer. After 9 working days from when I first spoke with them I spoke to customer care they told me that the refund had not been processed correctly on their part so I would have to wait another 3 days . I asked why ..they explained that the money would be sent back to my bank that day and then it would be down to my bank how quick they would refund it . I knew this not to be the case at which point the customer care person became abrupt and rude.
I phoned my bank the next day they had received no payment.
I then phoned the 0871 number again this time instead of being pushed around menus with long winded totally useless messages I selected option 2.. payments ..and got straight through .again I got the 3 days wait and was pushed to customer care ...the guy i spoke with was friendly and polite but got no further .
At the end of the day Furniture 123 had my money for 15 working days even though they did not keep their side of the deal
I ordered 3 items from Furniture 123. the first: a bedside chest of drawers arrived (eventually) and it was the wrong order. Nightmare trying to return it and getting through to them, plus they charge £40.00 for returning an order. number 2: desk; a text saying item would be delivered on x date between 12 and 8pm, stayed in all day. NOTHING! called them the next day, they said they would TRY to re-deliver, never heard from them again. called, they said it was on its way that very same day! NOTHING again. called again to cancel. No money back yet after a few weeks. they are saying no refund until they get the item back. I ask back from where, they have not replied yet. Item 3 same story as above, they did however refund this.
This company is an absolute nightmare. WARNING: DO NOT GO THROUGH THE HASSLE!
I never received my furniture from them as the supplier did not have it in stock. I had paid by direct debit and to get my refund was tough. Initially their communication was good with regards to availability. But when it came to refund, they stopped replying to my e-mails. I had to make the expensive call (10p per minute) in order to get my refund processed.
I ordered the Florence daybed paid in full and was told the bed was in stock and would be deliverd the next day . Waited all day no bed phoned furniture 123 and was told bed was not in stock but was offered an alternative which I accepted told rhis bed would be delivered in two days on the morning of delivery got an email to say furniture 123 could not deliver bed as parts were missing what a joke .i have now asked for a refund to be told I will have to wait five working days so we shall see . I read reviews about furniture 123 and had my concerns before ordering from them and phoned furniture123 to be fully assured by a very nice lady that I would not have any problems with my order I think she must have been joking and I fell for it .
I ordered the Bentley Design Lyon Walnut Rectangular Coffee Table on 13/10/2013. The table was delivered on the 16/10/2013. The table arrived in the original manufacturers packaging, unopened and undamaged so I was delighted about this because I had read some negative feed-back about this company.
I searched a few web-sites before I made this purchase, without exception this company could not be beaten on price. I made a saving of at least £100:00.
The table is perfect, exactly as advertised, easy to assemble and looks stunning.
I will definitely shop with this company again. And I would recommend this company to friends and family. Well pleased.
I ordered a chest of drawers from Furniture123 and was very worried as I hadnt read the bad reviews until AFTER I had placed my order however I can say that I had no problems using Furniture123. Great price & was given enough prior notice of when delivery was going to take place. Delivery was just a few days after ordering.
I also contacted customer services to enquire about another piece of furniture I was interested in buying and received helpful & friendly responses very quickly.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this company.
We all know there is nothing worse than waiting all day for a delivery to arrive . I received an email and text the day before the delivery detailing a four hour slot , happy with that . This was then followed up the next day with a call giving an hour slot it would arrive , even happier ! Refreshing change to not having to sit in all day waiting for things to arrive .
One chair seat from the dining set I purchased was broken. I emailed them many times, but no relies at all in the past one month. Nobody picked up the phone from their customer services neither. I was once put on hold for more than 40 minutes over the phone, still no one answered me.
I contacted furniture123 various times following the order of a corona one door four drawer wardrobe from them. Initially they gave a warm response and even promised to send out the missing hanging rail support parts. The problem was there were various scuff marks and the major issue which I wanted resolving was missing and a split in the middle hanging rail supports.
They initially sent confusing emails as they failed to understand the problem. Then they promised two parts to be sent out which are simply two pieces of wood that hold the hanging rail in the cupboard. They were repeated delayed responses. I waited for the parts and on my query after a weeks wait they said the returns managed advised parts were unavailable and couldn't be sent out.
They are now saying I violated term of conditions and should have kept packaging for 28 days and must dismantle and send item in own packaging. They don't mention how much they will refund on asking and their returns policy states they can keep whole or partial of what was paid to them if they find returns wasn't in same condition. They don't understand that packaging had a foot wide hole in and wasn't fit to be reused that's why I threw it. They promised to send parts through supplier but failed to comply.
For me it's been a nightmare and I regret buying from this retailer. I should have bought the corona wardrobe from elsewhere as I can't hang clothes in the hanging section and drawers are disorganised as shirts and jackets meant to be hanged in them.
What I will do is keep the wardrobe as they will never refund me and I will have to by my own hanging rail supports which won't match the cupboard and will be unsightly however I still may be able to use the wardrobe.
Unclear returns policy and no mention of packaging they fail to abide by their promise of sending out parts.
In all emails they are forcing me to return the product not explaining what refund they offer as I am aware they don't fully refund money and sometimes you return the item and they keep the money as I have seen reviews.
They don't ask if I want to return but are trying to get me to and won't explain why they said they would send out parts and failed to advise me that they couldn't be sent. This reflects their neglect and carefree attitude putting themselves first and not the customer.
My advise to others is stay well clear of them. Pay a bit more somewhere else at least they will refund you or at least not keep you in the dark.
I wasn't told why they had initially contacted supplier for parts to be sent out, were mentioning they would give me a delivery date when advised and failed to inform me they wouldn't be sent until I myself queried why they hadn't arrived.
I am gutted, terribly disappointed and wow to never buy from them again.
I ordered a glass dining table which arrived next day.. Great. After unpacking it was soon noticed that 3 legs were dented and table top faulty in 3 areas and very poor quality, I phoned the faulty goods department within an hour of receiving table and told to send photo's via email and that I would be contacted straight back. I sent the photo's two days running and phoned every day (at my expense) each time being told someone will call me back, I even spoke to a manager called Asif who made several promises he didn't keep - what an example! I have all the names of staff I spoke to, who all promised to sort it out and call me back but did NOT.
After several calls the table was collected and a refund given, even so I would NOT recommend this company to anyone.
I ordered a Chest of drawers which turned up a completely different colour from the picture I ordered and the description was different. They would not except this and wanted £40.00 to send it back. We decided to keep it but when we built the chest it is scratched with chunks missing, and is very poor quality, the drawers don't work very well and the finish is dreadful it looks like a second.
When I wrote them a mail to explain they just sent me a mail back to say it wasn't a second and sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. No mention of a refund. Avoid these jokers!!!!!
Ordered items after the cut off time so that I could have them delivered on the date required (2nd October). At 18.35 on the due date a courier arrived. I understood that the two items were coming from different companies so would not necessarily arrive together. What I wasn't expecting was to have only HALF the components for my desk delivered with NO LEGS for it and no chair at all. Of course, their customer service team only work from 10am to 4pm whilst their customers are potentially still waiting for their goods. I am now not at home for another couple of days which means that I can't set up my home office and get it all working.
BUYER BEWARE - although I still only have half a desk, the customer service that I have since received has been excellent. I sent an email after the goods failed to arrive and received a call from Furniture 123 at 9.10am on 3rd October to sort it out. I will update further once the issue has been resolved.
Box 1 arrived on time with part of the desk. Box 2 finally arrived on Saturday. I firmly believe this was the fault of CITY LINK (who are total p00p). The chair that was supposed to arrive next day was re-scheduled for the Saturday with DPD (confirmation text received). My OH dropped me off at a course in London and had to speed home on the Friday because I received a text stating delivery would be FRIDAY between 10.35 & 11.35. Apparently they were going to attempt delivery but it was definitely scheduled in for the Saturday if no one was home. He made it back and within 5 minutes of him being home, DPD delivered.
I wouldn't use this company again as I spent too much time trying to actually get the goods that had been paid for,
I bought a recliner i had seen on Amazon, the link was on Amazon should i say, i followed through and saw this gorgeous, good sized reclining chair. I needed two, but at the price for the chair, i thought well, if i lose on one at least i can go to the tried and trusted if this is rubbish. The item was well hyped up, the best faux leather, well quilted, great sturdy recline - it also mentioned a little building, which consists of popping the top of the back onto the back of the seat via poles & metal inserts I waited till the next day and here came my faux leather seat, well wrapped, two delivery men to unload and the help they offered was above and beyond. I like quality, i also like to get my home looking lovely and my bank account looking good. I was astounded. The reclining chair was far better in real life than it was described. It was such a pleasure and fitted in so well, i don't have a large bungalow & this fits well. As i said, the quality of service from buying to getting your item put where you want it at home, was EXCELLENT!! I have now bought the other chair and asked the lady i spoke to who was putting my order through if there was anywhere i could say how wonderful i had found my experience - she gave me this site. I am a GENUINE customer, i am not being paid to write nice things, i like to give credit where it is due nowadays. Today everyone seems to have a terrible nature and attitude, but take your money & give you a shoddy service, if you would like the good old fashioned treatment of respect to goods, care to goods, care to customers & prices that are wonderful with items that are uber fashionable and durable, but not breaking the bank. I placed an order on Sunday evening and my furniture arrived on Tuesday morning. I received a confirmation email from furniture123 and then the delivery driver called me to say he was on his way so they were in constant contact regarding my order which is very reassuring. I am that impressed with the service that I am now placing an order for a dining room table and chairs. Not only is the service great but the products and prices are fantastic too.
I ordered my product before reading the company review to which this made me feel very nervous but i have to say i am really pleased with my item. I ordered the bed on Wednesday night which was straight forward and a very good price. I received the bed on friday and also had a e-mail with an estimated time slot the day before and then a phone call an hour before the bed was delivered. The bed is haw it was described and in perfect condition so im a very happy customer.
I can not speak for everybody but based on my experiance with this company i would be happy to use again.
Furniture 123 is an absolute Joke of a company! We ordered a table to be delivered 6 weeks ago, when it arrived it had CHUNKS missing out of the table and legs. This was visible from the poor packaging it was wrapped in. I tried to organise a replacement one, however this process take 48 hours from thier team to get back to you! When the table was booked in to be collected a week later they went to wrong address 3 times! Each time I waited in all day for a courier company to collect the damaged table was a day off work. Finally the table was collected and again it took another week for a replacement table to be sent. Once again it went to the wrong address and when it did turn up at the correct address AGAIN there where CHUNKS and scratches, so i refused to sign it and sent it back with the same courier company. So in total I have taken 6 days off work to sit all day to wait for a new table to be delivered. How this company manages to exist is beyond my imagination. The staff are incompitant and can't even manage to send the courier company a correct address! They are a joke! After 6 weeks of waiting for a table....we are still waiting! I would never recommend this cowboy company to anyone. We are utterly disgusted by how everything has been dealt with.
Well I seem to be on my own here, but I'm a great believer in giving credit when it's due. I ordered 2 bedside tables after firstly emailing the company. My furniture arrived early (which wasn't ideal as I was away). However it's gorgeous we'll made and excellently priced. I emailed to tell them about the early arrival and a very polite lady called me right back. The only thing I'd say to make it better would be if they had a telephone number. I'm very happy!
Went onto furniture123 website, followed a link for bed frames - double beds. Chose Strata bed, button to order next to a picture of a double bed. What would you think you were ordering at this point, probably like me, a double bed frame, well you'd be wrong, apparently despite having no option to choose a bed size, a single bed is what's ordered. A bit fat con in my opinion. Tried to contact customer services via e-message as this is the only option, and have been told the ordering mistake is mine (not their website) and for this privilidge I now have to pay them £40 to return it. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY
Ordered a corner sofa from them a year ago! Arrived 6 weeks (advertised on website as 2 weeks) late after various calls to Indonesia call centre! Due to moving into a larger property, needed to order a matching armchair from them as they are only people who stock this particular design of sofa!
They have since been took over by ‘Buy It Direct’… so I thought I would email them a explain my previous experience and to see if things had changed as to how the business was run! I instantly received a call off a very nice lady called Gemma explaining how the company was now run immaculately and that everything had changed since the takeover! She guaranteed that the armchair would be delivered next day delivery as stated on product! So I ordered it with her reassurance.
I took the day off work… waited for delivery, no sign of it! Emailed them (as there is still no customer services number on their website) to ask where it was! Was told it wouldn’t arrive for another at least another 3 weeks! I emailed back requested someone to call me but no joy!
The company was boasting in an newspaper article on how they have changed since taking over from original owners but in same sentence said that they have kept all the old staff on… maybe that’s the answer right there! Just seems like the same poorly run company with a difference trading name!
my partner and I ordered a pine bedside chest from furniture 123 on the 28th November prior to this about 2 days we ordered 2 dining chairs with we got with no trouble .we also have ordered a few other things at various times and never had any problems . So we was disappointed when the bedside chest didn't turn up .We then had a email saying the company had gone into liquidation and we had to contact the bank to get a charge back on our order this my partner did and we NEVER got a penny back .Now we see that 123 are trading again and keep sending us news letters pity its not what we ordered
Ordered a bed which took weeks of constant moaning to get, was damaged when it finally arrived, in the end I asked the manufacturer to replace the broken sections which they did very quickly.

Ordered september 2012 a three piece suite for a total of 898.93. Paid by PayPal which was my first mistake. Suite should have been delivered within 88 days. That came and went with no communication. Contacted three times via email with no response until I wrote a letter and sent recorded delivery threatening legal action. Still no reply. PayPal un helpful. This company taking money with no intentions of holding their side of contract. Avoid like the plague.
I ordred a headboard end of October and just had an e-mail to say they are in liquidation

I ordered an 'Oak bed frame' from them on the 18th November and the money was debited from my bank account the following day on the 19th November. I was told the item would be delivered in 28 days. But then on the 19th December I received an e-mail from Furniture 123 stating they had gone into liquidation and 'Chamberlain & Co' had been appointed to handle the insolvency process.
I was advised in the e-mail to "initiate a 'charge back' with my bank". I have spoken to my bank and done this so now I have to wait to see if it is successful and if I will get my £380 back. I'm told this could take around 6 weeks.
They say they have gone into liquidation yet their website is still up and running. So why are they still being allowed to trade and take peoples money? When they have no intention of delivering the items paid for. Their customer services is impossible to get hold of, when you phone you simply get an automated message telling you to contact them through their website. However when you try to send a message through their website you just get an 'Error message' when you try to send the message.
If you do a 'Google' search for 'Furniture 123 reviews' and Furniture 123 complaints' you will see hundreds of people have all had problems with the company, in either not receiving the goods they paid for, faulty and damaged goods being delivered, money not being refunded and their customer services being completely unobtainable.
You will also see from doing an internet search on this company that they have changed their name twice in the past. They have gone by the names of 'Furniture Online Ltd' and 'Parkbury Ltd'. I wonder how long it will be before they change their name again.
I will say again, Steer well clear of Furniture 123, they are a bunch of thieves and scammers who will just take your money and run.
I had ordered from this company years ago - or one with a similar name - who knows?! Rumours are that this company was set up as a scam? I ordered again and after numerous problems with delivery and still no furniture I tried to chase them up once and for all and sort it out as was fed up with missed delivery dates. To my shock and a sinking feeling I couldn't get in touch with them through email, phone, facebook or twitter, the company had clearly moved out and no longer existed, yet their site, facebook page, twitter account and everything else still had the latest offers on! Anyway, to cut a long story short - they have my money - I have no furniture and am trying to get my money back by any means possible as ours was a large order over £2500 so can't afford to lose this amount of money! Because we needed the furniture quickly as we have all the family over for Christmas we went to http://www.oakfurnituresolutions.co.uk/ who are absolutely fabulous, very similar (the same in our case) furniture, great customer service and delivered a day early in time for Christmas - we can't thank them enough for coming to our rescue when the cowboys from Furniture 123 have left us penniless and having to sort out trying to get our money back which we could have done without the hassle! Please DON'T use this company and get caught out when there is a perfectly good company who look after their customers and do the same furniture!
Same as the majority of people who have dealt with this company, I am still waiting for a refund of over £300 after I cancelled my order in October. After various telephone calls and sending the company many emails I received one email with an apology stating that my refund would be paid immediately. Since then I still have not heard anything or received my refund.
I have now written to BBC Watchdog and urge other people to do the same.
