Use CEX or others instead

First time I used their online preowned games service. First game I ordered didn't work in a brand new Xbox, took 8 days for them to respond about how to return. Packaged it up as requested and sent back to them asking for a replacement, no response since and is now over a month later since I returned it with no response. They say 10 working days.... But reading horror stories below I don't hold out much hope...

Don't use this company!

Bought new copy of game was sent second hand copy. Contacted customer services they repeatedly denied that it was second hand, claiming that the damaged box and lack of manufacturers seal was because it might be ex shop stock. Sent game back but they denied receiving it so I ended up with nothing.

Game Over!!!

Placed order but I cancelled prior to shipping. Payed via Paypal. Game advised me they could not cancel even though I had cancelled immediately and they had not shipped and I would need to raise a dispute with Paypal. Why? Game have not responded to any dispute/resolution messages, have not refunded, item still shows a sun shipped and sales team are unable to assist and are sorry for any inconvenience! Well I for one will not suffer this frustrating, mismanaged bunch of charlatans any longer. Game Over!!!

A car wreck of a company

Looks like I'm not the only one who suffered from the website 'glitch' they had.
I ordered a game. - order complete.
I checked my orders and it wasn't there, so I phoned them and was told to try again and was assured that no money was taken.
I ordered the game again. - order complete.
Again no game was in 'my orders', so I phoned again and was told to try a different payment method as my order was stuck in 'pending' and would be cancelled, at this point I almost gave up.
I tried one last time and paid via PayPal, same result, order complete but nothing in my orders, except they had definitely taken the money from my PayPal.
After way too long of webchat and phone calls, I was told I would get a refund on PayPal which could take up to 10 working days, and was assured that no payment had been taken from my card from my previous attempts at purchasing the game.
I checked my bank today and wasn't too shocked to see that they HAD taken they money.
So another day of phoning, they told me to go to the bank and get authorisation numbers and the likes and to phone them back, when I phoned back I couldn't have had a ruder member of staff.
Sick of the whole situation, still waiting on refund.
I wish Amazon or shopto.net would get the exclusives and not game.
Avoid this ccompany unless you really really must have a game exclusive item.

NEVER RECEIVED MY ORDER. POOR AND CARELESS CUSTOMER SERVICE

I bought a new game (BF4) by website as pre-order on April 2013.
October 29th I received a mail from GAME telling me my order has been shipped, but no tracking number, post receipt, HAWB, invoice, nothing.
Ninety days after "shipment" I asked to track my order trough their customer service or proceed to reimbursement, but their response was: they are no longer responsable for nothing about this order after 60 days from "shipment".
They sent me a link showing me that I can only complain between 45 to 60 days after shipment (overseas), after this while they can not be responsable.

1st. If I knew I would not bought or give them a previously contact.

2nd. I do believe this is a FRAUD, this game was NEVER SHIPPED, because they have nothing to prove that.

I never had that problem before and I'm very disapointed to this company.

I hope at least help another possible customers to prevent to be cheated by this company, for sure there are another good companys for it but GAME.

this has to have been the worst customer service ever from the luton game store , picked up what my sons wanted and went to the pay desk ,store manager had seen us coming to the till did not acknowledge us at all even though he looked straight at us and was more interested in the young lass who works there and was complaining about her tattoo she has had on her foot finally another member of staff came out from behind the stockroom to serve us and then proceeded to try to lass a 2nd hand 3ds game off as new oh we always open the boxes to make sure they are ok what a bullshit line xbox one game was just as bad ...she didn't have the expansion pack version in so tried up selling it as an extra when it states on the box it's included,next excuse is oh that was day one release only so what the hell is it doing on the shop floor then trades description act comes to mind so ended up walking out and will buy else where , so all in all a totally crap service from game in luton and I certainly won't be recommending them to anyone I like

DLC did not work

Purchased BF4 and the DLC code was already used dispite the game being sold as "new"

Game Stockport, full of rude, arrogant kids.

Game is the worst store in the world. Every time I go in I leave pissed off. There is a lad called Buster at the Stockport store who claims to be the store manager. If this kid is the store manager then I really wonder about Games interviewing process. The kid has no clue about sales, is rude and cocky and generally acts like he doesn't give a shit. Because of his attitude I walked away from a £500+ sale of Xbox ONE and went over to Grainger Games instead. The shop was empty at the time, but Game must be doing well as they really didn;t care.

I've now had enough, I wont be using Game EVER again (have done for over 10 years) and am soon to be starting an action group against them.

Awful! Awful! Awful!

I ordered an Xbox One (not a pre-order), as it was 'in stock'.

The order went through and I got a visual confirmation, however an hour later there was no confirmation e-mail, nor was there any details against my account in regards to the order ever being placed.

I contacted the web support who then advised the order had failed and was caught in ‘Pending’ and they had now cancelled the order. I explained I didn't want the order cancelled, just to be processed. They then asked for me to re-do the order. They advised as this was never processed I wouldn't be charged.

After processing the order a second time, the exact same thing happened. I contacted support and they advised the order was caught in 'pending' again and they would have to cancel it. They asked me to re-do the order for the third time. Again, with the advice that I would not be charged. At this point I had wasted a full day being pretty much on hold or in web queues trying to sort it out.

I then purchased this from Asda with no issues, and not much in the way of price differences.

3 days later, £900 is taken from my account off Game (this would have been £1300 if I had done what they had advised).

I contacted Complaints, Telephone Support, Web Chat and any other department I could. On each occasion they either told me there was nothing that they could do and ending the chat/phone call abruptly, or it may take 10 days for any money to be refunded.

After daily communication and being fobbed off for 12 working days, I then get told the refund had been processed and this may take up to another 10 working days.

The majority of January (and a couple of December) I was without £900 due to their Web Ordering system failing. No order was ever processed, so no money should ever have left my account.

No one at the company seemed to care, and were mostly very rude, as if I was a hindrance to their day, rather than offering me advice or options.

I finally received my refund at the back end of Jan, and have since requested my account was closed. I was never offered any kind of compensation for all the hassle and fees they caused me. I was never offered an apology. I had so many lies told to me through the whole process, I began to think Game was just trying to take as much money as possible before closing down the site for good.

This company is a disgrace and I would advise anyone of considering ordering from them, to stay well clear, unless it's for a nominal amount and don't mind the risk

Poor Quality, Slow Customer Service

I ordered a game prior to Xmas 2013 for my son online and didn't receive any confirmation from Game that the order had gone through. My Bank asked if I'd ordered the game and I confirmed that I was attempting to purchase from them. But nothing...so I went back into the website and ordered again. This I did receive confirmation they'd got my order and a confirmation number.

Hours later I received another email saying the order had been cancelled!!! However upon reading the bank statements, I could see that they'd indeed taken the money out of my account, so I emailed them and requested a reason and a return of my money...this went on for nearly 3 weeks, till I emailed their CEO (Martyn Gibbs) direct and demanded my money. Within a day I'd received an email from a Customer Service Manager telling me that there had been a glitch with their systems and that my money would be back in my account within 24 hours. 2 days later (over a week after Xmas) the money was returned.

No compensation, only an apology!!

Result - I won't be using them every again! Poor cluttered customer service, with a lack of leadership and understanding of client's needs.

Take your money and spend it elsewhere!!!

Never received my order. Worst Customer Service ever.

I preordered a PS3 game in november 2013.
They claimed they shipped it on december 2013 but I have not received it till today.
All my e-mails were completely ignored even though they guaranteed to answer within 5 working days.
I have no idea if they are in deep financial trouble, but when I hear that dozens, if not hundreds of customers have the same problem, I come to think it may be fraud.

I filed a claim to Paypal and got my money back.
They didn't even react to it.

Cancelling order with no explanation...then asking me to buy it at full price.

No wonder why this company is in trouble. Run by incompetent knuckle draggers. Will never buy another thing from www.game.co.uk or their stores ever again. Will be placing my order with John Lewis.

We do cover our customers should this happen however for international orders we do ask that you allow 45 days from date of despatch at which point we will be able to provide a refund or replacement dependant on stock levels.

worst company I purchased from do not buy from them

wrote to them they had to make sure the game was sealed. and then send they 2 not is. sent an email with this just after I had bought from them

they will not take them back and can not find a solution with them when I wrote to them
they want me to pay for their mistakes it's just not okay

not had such a bad treatment from some others so do not buy from them

The Worst Online Shopping Experience I Have Ever Had!

I would like to point out that I have been a loyal long term customer with this terrible company! But this is the last straw.

To keep a very long story short, I tried to place an order earlier this month on GAME.co.uk - I paid with a credit card, the order went through but I didn't get any confirmation at the end. I went into the 'My Account' section and the order was there but half of the details were missing. So I started a Live Chat with one of their operators.
After explaining the situation he told me that the order had not got through correctly and that their site might be blocking my CC for security reasons! He assured me that I would not be charged and suggested I try another payment method. So I placed the order again and this paid with PayPal. Exactly the same outcome. He could not explain what the problem was. He told me there was nothing he could do and that, basically, I could not place an order!! Great way to lose a customer who has spent thousands with them over the years!
Anyway, he again assured me that I have not been charged for this attempt either.

After accepting that they just did not care about fixing the issue and that they are losing a loyal customer (as I literally could not place an order!), I gave up and took my business elsewhere.

I then got an email from PayPal telling me I just spent £x at GAME.co.uk - Grrrrrrrr. So I started another Live Chat and explained the situation to another operator. They then told me that there was nothing they can do and that I will have to start a dispute with PayPal!!! She said that PayPal doesn't allow them to refund! I explained to her that that is nonsense - I own a business and we accept PayPal as a payment method on our website and we can refund customers whenever we need to - but she was adamant that there was nothing she could do. So I have had to start an 'item not received dispute' on PayPal! (Incidentally, this dispute has now been open 12 days and Game have not responded once!)

The next day I logged into my credit card account. And guess what? Yep, they had charged that too. Unbelievable. Since then I have been in touch with them countless times and nobody has done anything about it. Now they are just ignoring me. I have had to start Chargeback proceeding with my credit card company.

So in summary, I have been charged twice for an order that GAME are never going to send to me and they will not do a thing about it. It's taking up a lot of my time to get it all sorted out and they have not helped in the slightest.

I will never shop with them again. Absolutely awful, awful company to deal with. Do yourself a favour and shop elsewhere.

Nice Shop

First I must say that I am German and my english is not very good.
It worked for me (paided with Paypal).
I ordered GTA V i took about 2 weeks to germany, but i saved about 9 Pounds.

Even worse after being rescued from bankruptcy

Have been buying from GAME for many years and i can tell you they have slowly become the worst online retailer i have ever purchased from. Ordered Assassins Creed Black Flag buccaneer edition from them for the Playstation 4 months before release. Arrived 2 days late after launch. I noticed the seals on the box where broken so i opened it up to find the Kenway statue was smashed and there was no game box inside. Contacted GAME 7 times through email as i could never got through to there stupid chat system, and to this date still have not had a reply.

Pre ordered Ryse: Son of Rome for the Xbox One, got charged twice and instead of refunding me for the extra copy they sent me an extra copy. WTF? Pre ordered Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U months before release so i could get the pre order bonus. The game arrived 2 days late with no bonus items. Contacted them again and again only to get an email saying " it got lost in the post and we dont have anymore " Funny they replied to that problem and not the £70 i paid for Assassins Creed.

They do not care and are shambolic in what they do now. I now purchase all my games from Amazon, Zavvi and Gameseek to name a few, as they are the better alternative. To anyone thinking of buying from them, think very hard. It is very difficult to get a response from them when things go wrong as there is no telephone number. And trust me things will go wrong. and when they do, be prepared not to get anywhere. These are just a few of the problems i have had with them over the last year, and have called it quits with them.

Would i recommend them? 2 years ago i would of said yes. Now i say stay clear of them.

Customer service awful.

If anyone knows what consumer rights we have please post as I'm aware gov regulations is 30 day refund process, but who do you turn to when the company couldn't care less and still has your money????
