I ordered a ps3 handcontroller back in 2011. I never recived the controller and just get stupid explanations when I contacted them. After months I finally blocked my creditcard and sent them an email telling them too delete my order and that I blocked my card.
i bought a wii fit board not long ago n i ad an e-mail saying it was going to b ere within a week however waiting two weeks no board or games. my mum phoned the trading standards n they sed its on the way so i waited and further down the line it came up in 5 months and then it came with no game so i ad to wait another month for it to come thn me mum rung trading standards up again n if it wasnt for me mum ringing thm we wudnt av the board n game at all it is a perthetic and a scamming website i do not wish on anyone buying anything from this website x
My son wanted to buy 3ds with his birthday money, ordered it May 2011, like others have said, when they eventually answered an email kept saying would be despatched in 48 hours, never received anything, very quick to take money out of your account, not so quick at answering the telephone. I am so glad that I had the hindsight to buy it on my visa card. Anyway after over 2 months disappointment, I had had enough and I contacted my bank and had to fill out some forms detailing all my emails and the correspondence i got back from them, and I received refund in full from my bank, we then managed to buy a 3ds much cheaper with extra games from well known high street store.
Bought a Nintendo 3DS console in June 2011, paid for and never received it, nor a refund...

I bought an item for them in November 2010 as a Christmas present which NEVER arrived. Like others have said, on the rare occasion I managed to speak to someone when I called they were very nice people apart from one 'young man' who actually swore at me!!!!!!!!
By the sound of things I am one of the very lucky ones as I eventually got my money back from them, but this was only after pestering them by phone EVERY day for two weeks and eventually getting them to send me a Royal Mail claim form as obviously it was RM's fault, not theirs! It was February before this happened though.
My boyfriend himself tried to buy the same item at the same time for his mate for Christmas and of course this never turned up either and he never got his money back. He was so pissed off about it he was going to take a day off work and visit their offices.
We reported them to Trading Standards who said they'd heard lots of similar stories about them which is why I am amazed they are still managing to steal people's money with their blatant lies.
AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like everyone else, I was fooled by the decent enough looking website and cheap prices.
I made my order back in APRIL. I was working part time, on minimum wage, and wanted to buy my boyfriend a Nintendo 3DS for his birthday.
The amount of ridiculous excuses I received for it not arriving was INSANE. A problem with the printers (what the fuck?), technical difficulties, the usual. The awful thing is, everyone I spoke to on the phone sounded lovely.
I recorded all phone calls I had with the company, and sent email after email complaining to them.
It's December now, and alas, nothing has happened. It's rare that anyone gets their money back from this company, and it's around this time of year that people will fall victim to the site.
These people are ROBBING BASTARDS. I have no idea how the website hasn't been taken down yet! The last time I emailed them, their usual email address wasn't accepting emails, but even so.
Go into a high street shop, and hand your cash over yourself to buy games. This has really put me off online shopping.

Back in June I ordered a wii fit+ board and Game from Gamesbasement, who were quick enough to take the money, (even though it states in THEIR T&C's they won't until item dispatched). After the 5-7 working days no item, so I emailed to ask? Received the automated reply then a day or two later received an email saying " suffering some difficulties and delays with the stock<>despatch your item by the end of the week".
the end of the week came and went, so I emailed again asking to cancel, got a reply saying "sorry<>is there anything else you would like in replacement" so I emailed again to cancel and got confirmation they were processing my order for cancellation on the 2nd of August, now after a few emails quoting their T&C's regarding the payment etc I got one back from them stating in their T&C's they have 30 days to process my cancellation. So patiently I've waited 30 days for the refund, still nothing.
Now to top it all off my last emails have been rejected and still no refund, plus they are still trading, if only I had checked out these reviews before making my purchase.
I have learnt my lesson the hard way, always read the reviews of a company first before placing an order!!!
My wife and I were looking for a Nintendo DSi for our daughter's birthday and found this site. They were offering it at a good price and so we ordered on 29 June 2011.
They said it would be dispatched within 48hrs; it wasn't. Our daughter's birthday was on 10 July and despite numerous emails and phonecalls (more of which later), we decided to cancel the order, which we did on 08 July 2011 and had to go to Argos and buy one in store for significantly more money.
In cancelling, we formally requested a full refund, but despite numerous further emails and phonecalls (definately some more later!) we still do not have a refund, and today is 26 Spetember 2011.
My wife has now contacted her card provider to raise a dispute in order to try and get our money back.
By the way, in relation to the phone calls, don't bother ringing them, it simply a voicemail message telling you to email them.....now thats customer service.
I feel ashamed to have used this company now I have seen these other reviews. For anyone else considering using these people, please seriously consider whether its worth it.

Farcical company, you'd save yourself a lot of heartache by burning your money instead of giving it to these jokers. They said they had stock of my order, they didn't; they said they don't take payment until item is despatched, they did; they say they'll refund the order (after five weeks of chasing them), five months later and I'm still waiting.
It has to be fraudulent, there's just too many likewise stories. I'm at a loss as to how these people are still in business.
I ordered a Wii board in May and after no delivery, and a number of emails (with autogenerated responses) I asked for a refund in August. After weeks, I've got autogenerated responses but no refund. I've now contacted my bank to arrange a charge back. Do not buy from them!!!
I ordered a Nintendo 3DS on 20th July. After receiving nothing for a week I contacted them and was informed there was a problem with my order and attempted to cancel my order. They offered to send an alternative product, something I should have done as I may have actually received something for my money!
After 20+ emails I then received one a month after my order stating that I would receive a refund within 30 days, but it has now been a further 40 days and I still have no Nintendo 3DS. It has been over 2 months since my order and I am out of pocket by £160. Thank you gamesbasement.
I am bitterly upset and out of pocket while someone is no doubt sitting on a beach with my money.
Please do not use Gamesbasement to buy anything!
I ordered a Nintendo DS XL for my sons birthday on the 12th April, after several emails confirming dispatch the DS didn't arrive and I had to rush out the day before my sons birthday to get him another.
Cancelled on 17th May, have received many emails with excuses for delays in refund and that they legally have 30 days to action refund.
Its now 16th Sept still no refund, started proceedings with credit card in August! Stay away from Games Basement.
A month after ordering online for some microphones and still no delivery. First they say it's despatched and wait a week then they say they will resend and then they then say they have no stock when they have already taken my money from my debit card. Worst of all I try to cancel and they just kept saying they haven't charged me even though I sent them my bank statement. Then their phoneline just goes to answer machine and the emails returned are automated messages. The only way I got my money back was through talking to Mastercard. There was no sign of getting your money back from them!! AVOID!!
My boyfriend ordered a few things from them in March 2011, they happily took the money but like everyone else on here no items were recieved. They reeled off a massive list of excuse as to where the items were after being told the items must have been conveniently lost in the post we were later to be told that the items weren't even due in stock for another few months. They have a trained team of LIARS working for them who have to be the rudest bunch of scum I have ever spoken to. It is currently being dealt with by the bank. It has been 6 months now and my boyfriend has given up on it but I just can't see them rip people off like this. STAY AWAY and spread the word!
Ordered an Xbox 360 accessory for my son's birthday in July. They took my money instantly. My purchase never arrived and neither did my promised refund. You can't reach them by phone and they don't respond to e-mails either. Have now got a full refund from my bank. If you're thinking of buying from this company DON'T!!!
Ordered a game in june this year. Game never turned up so I contacted them only to be told that it had been dispatched and that I should wait another week. When it still didn't turn up, I contacted them again only to be told that they were having difficulties obtaining stock even though they had previously told me it had been dispatched - BUNCH OF LIARS! I then received a form asking me to confirm that I had not received the item and to specify if I would like a replacement or a refund - I chose a refund. It has been 3 weeks since I posted the form back and, surprise, surprise...still no refund! I've just contacted them today and am awaiting a reply - I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN AND WILL STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT NONE OF MY FAMILY OR FRIENDS DO EITHER!

do not order from this company, they will take your money and you will get NOTHING. Iam now in the process of trying the visa chargeback through my bank. ( wish mre luck). if you have been taken for a mug by this company contact watchdog @ the BBC. Action fraud and any where esle that you can report this company to. Gamesbasement has also traded under a company before, which seeced trading because of the fraud cases against them. do not give up....
I ordered a pink wii remote on 28th March & the company took the money the same day, I waited for 4 weeks and still had not received my item. I called them and was adivised that it had been sent out that day, after another couple of weeks, still no remote!!! Its fair to say that I have been attempting to receive a refund for months and dont think i'll be seeing that money any time soon!!! I have tried to leave a review on the actual games basement website but it only allows completed orders to leave feedback!!!

False advertising, bad comminication (phone lines just say 'send us an email') and it's like getting blood from a stone to get your money back, even when you have not received anything.

Do not do as I did and be suckered into buying anything from Games Basement because of its apparent comparatively low prices and by its slick website. Remember a golden rule; if it seems too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true.
On 12 June 2011 thought I bought a Nintendo 3DS Console for £157.99. Guess what?...still no console and/or no refund! The following are a list of lies (and, to be fair, a truth) I’ve had from Games Basement in the meantime:
• You will be charged for your purchase of the Goods when we have despatched the Goods. – LIE! MY CREDIT CARD WAS CHARGED IMMEDIATELY AFTER PAYMENT. THE CONSOLE HAS NEVER BEEN DESPATCHED.
• (After sending a message to Games Basement asking what’s happening with my order) Email received 16 June 2011 stating “Delivery Status : Dispatched” – LIE! IT HAS NEVER BEEN DESPATCHED.
• Email received 17 June 2011 stating “On the 16/6/11 your order is in the process of being packed and sent off” – LIE! NOT ONLY DOES THIS CONTRADICT THEIR PREVIOUS EMAIL, BUT ALSO THE CONSOLE HAS NEVER BEEN DESPATCHED.
• EMAIL RECEIVED 30 June 2011 “Games Basement are now processing your order for cancellation. It will take me aprroximately 24 hours to recall this item back from the courier…
You shall receive a separate email notification to confirm when the refund has been processed by the finance team, this can usually take 7 working days (but it may be done sooner).” - LIE! THE CONSOLE HAS NEVER BEEN DESPATCHED SO THERE WAS NOTHING TO RECALL FROM A COURIER. THEY CAN’T SPELL APPROXIMATELY. AND AS FOR THE REFUND, READ ON
• EMAIL RECEIVED 01 July 2011 “The Finance dept has confirmed this cancellation and will email you within the next 48 hours (working) regarding your refund.” - LIE! I HAD TO ASK IF THEIR ‘WORKING’ HOURS ACCTUALLY MEANT TWO DAYS (BECAUSE I GOT NOTHING AFTER THAT PERIOD OF TIME) OR IF I SHOULD CONSIDER THAT THEY DO 9 TO 5!
• Email received 18 July 2011 “we are currently processing you for a refund but we do have 30 working days to do so, as stated in the terms and conditions.” - TRUE! ALTHOUGH I WOULD SUGGEST SUCH AN ANSWER IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE BEST PRACTICE, AND (OF COURSE) 30 ‘WORKING’ DAYS LATER I STILL HAVE NO REFUND. THIS IS NOW IN THE HANDS OF MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY.
If you consider having anything to do with Games Basement, make up your own mind from all of the above and use your common sense. Not touching them even with a barge pole is common sense. And I’d be wary of customer satisfaction ratings from eKomi too.

FRAUD! ADOID! Very fast to take the payment, never send any goods, rubbish communication, website doesn't work anymore, phone scrolls to answering machine.How do you dare take the money from people in order to dissapear! Now explain to my 6 years old child, why he has no birthday present! Bunch of scumbags!
It is clearly this company is fraud they never send you your item neither refund your money, only things you get is email promise it. I recommend everyone who has bought from this company to contact the related bank for refund as I did and get my money back.
I can give no star rating for this company as they are a complete waste of time and scammers!
I ordered a Wii Fit on 2 June 2011 and they immediately took the money from my credity card. I expected to receive the goods within 5-7 days. I rang after one week and was told I would receive it in the next couple of days. After 2 weeks I rang again to ask them where it was, having already sent an email which was not answered. I was told that they were having problems with their email system and with the order, however I could expect to receive my order the following week.
By the end of June I still had not received the goods (what a surprise judging by these reviews that I'm reading now). I then tried to ring the company but an answerphone came on immediately saying to email them if I needed to speak to them!
I emailed them immediately and asked for a refund. I received an email reply 2 days later saying they would refund me.
I kept ringing my bank to see if the refund had been received but it hadn't. I then emailed again to ask where my refund was. I received an email 2 days later (again) saying they would refund within 5-7 days, however their terms and conditions stated they had 30 days in which to refund.
Well well well, no surprises that the refund has not materialised after the 30 days stated in their terms and conditions so I have rung my bank and instigated proceedings against them. I have received a refund from my bank and they are now taking the matter up.
In conclusion, Gamesbasement are the worst worst worst internet company I have ever had the displeasure to use. I hope that any future potential customers will read all of these reviews before purchasing anything from them. I certainly will never use them again and I have been telling all my friends about their terrible customer service. Word of mouth is the most powerful source of business (or in this case will hopefully prevent anyone from ever using Gamesbasement again!)!!!
Ordered a Nintendo 3DS from them on 12th June 2011. After 43 days, no delivery and 3 broken 'assurances' am now pursuing my money back with Visa. Very disappointing.
Do not touch this bunch of sharks take your money then don't deliver. These type of companies should be taken off the web and the people at the top done for fraud.
My daughter was in tears today as the 3DS I ordered had not arrived, I had to explain we had no money to buy another one, happy birthday you bunch of crooks....

Ordered a Nintendo 3DS on 13th June 2011 and paid extra for next day delivery. No goods after over a month and I have to pay for them now as they have charged my credit card! No response to phone, email, or letters. I'm likely to be contacting both my credit card company and the Police in the next few days.
As with other reviews I'm afraid it's the same story with me. Ordered a 3DS in June as it was the cheapest on the Net. Their web site states payment is only taken once the order has been despatched, however, my payment was taken within a few hours of the order being taken. After a couple of days the status of my order changed to 'Processing - Packing'. After 3 days, the status was still the same. I emailed and got a reply promising that my order would be despatched within 48 hours. 4 days later it still hadn't been despatched.
It was now over 2 weeks since placing my order and having the money taken with no sign of any delivery. I decided to do a search on the net and only wish I'd done so before ordering. It would appear that my story is the same as many others.
There's no facility to cancel an order on their web site and as customer services are impossible to get hold of, I contacted my credit card company to get my money back. As soon as I mentioned Gamesbasement, I was informed that they were well known to the credit card company, having done many chargebacks against them.
So please do not waste your time ordering from this company. Yes, the prices are excellent, but this in only a ploy to get your money.
I have never felt so strongly that a company should be shut down and the owners locked away for the good of everone else!

Ordered 3DS 22 June. Money taken immediately. No goods delivered but been "packing for 2 weeks" Phones down for "technical reasons" No reply to emails. I've now contacted Barclaycard. I should have read reviews. Someone needs to shut this company down and quickly.
This company are a disgrace.
I ordered a Wii console on 25th May with a quoted delivery of 3-5 days. When it hadn't arrived on 15th June I rang to complain and was promised delivery the next day. After many more emails the lies and excuses continue including - "it's with the courier but we don't know which one" and now that I have cancelled the order they claim that they hadn't taken payment (which they did - on 25th May).
I am reclaiming the money through my credit card and will be suing them for lost earnings when they failed to deliver on the 3 PROMISED days...and all the hassle I got from my daughter !
Go to Sainsburys - they're cheaper anyway!

dont use this website. placed an order, then the product went out of stock straight away. my order has been "processing" for more than a week and 5 emails have been sent without reply. their phone line cannot directs you to email them! this is clearly a company to avoid at all costs!
I placed an order with this company on 7th February, they took my money immediately and 2 weeks later I still had not received the goods. After several calls I decided to cancel the order and I am still awaiting a refund. I have emailed them several times and they say they are going to refund but still nothing.

Kenny Haslam, this also happend to me with the Sharp Shooter, only I did order with Express Delivery for extra £6, but still didnt receive.
First they told me it had been sent by DX Delivery Service, then the next day when I chased, they told me it had actually been sent with Royal Mail and would have to wait 15 days for a claims form if I didnt receive (which is actually today 21/3) On the 03/03 they told me I was going to get a refund for the £6 Express Delivery and I'm still waitng for that. Will never use again!!!
This company is the worst I have ever experienced. My order for a Wii fit board placed 31 January 2011 was not fulfilled although my money was taken in one day. Emails are not replied to, boards are never in stock. I have sent back non-receipt form (by registered post) been promised a refund in ten days, in five days, nothing.
Doesn't deserve any stars!! I ordered a Wii Fit plus board from them on December 8th, have never received and I am still chasing a refund on 11th March. I would think that a lot of people just give up trying to get a refund in the end and that is the intention. I have written to Watchdog and would advise more people to do so as I believe they should be exposed. I too sent a claim form and was told it had not been received until I told them it had been sent registered post at which point they mysteriously found it!! Could go on ranting all day!!
