Recently purchased a North Face jacket from Gaynors. Stupidly I ordered the wrong size. Returned the first one and they sent out a replacement, no quibbles. I'd certainly recommend them and will use them again in the future.
I rang up to check when a (very expensive) waterproof jacket would be back in stock. I had asked online to be emailed when the jacket was in stock but wanted to know whether it would be days or weeks.
The sales person was impolite from the start. I described the jacket I wanted but I still had to look up the code on their website.
Then I had to describe it again - so she clearly had not been listening.
Then she could not give me any idea how long it would be so told me to go somewhere else.
So I will and I won't be getting the pants or the backpack from there as well.
It is a shame because their prices looked good.
I had ordered three times from them and the same great customer service.I am very pleased and i am glad i didn't take in consideration the other bad reviews.For the people who complained about express delivery not beeing available, i have to say that i live in Dublin and my orders always arrived two days later,that is good enough for me.
I have used Gaynors a number of times for outdoor gear. Perhaps a smaller variety of products listed when compared with larger companies, however they're very competitively priced and always worth a look. Delivery is also prompt, so would certainly use again and recommend to others.
Used them twice once this week and another time about 5 years ago. Both times I got good quick communication by emails in reply to questions asked, the best online price and prompt delivery. Will use again!
I read quite a lot of reviews about Gaynors sports which made me quite nervous about buying a north face jacket from them but I did. At about 8am I placed the order and at 12pm it got despatched and arrived the next day. The customer service was good and they were very helpful. From now I don't have any hesitation of buying from them
Recently used Gaynors (I'm from the Lakes so have dealt with the shop for many years) online and had the same high standard of service you come to expect when you are in the shop itself. The price of the item I was looking for was more than acceptable, they had the size, colour and spec of what I wanted in stock and they delivered it next day. On the rare occasion things have gone wrong they very quickly put it right with no quibbles. If only some of the other 'outdoor' online companies could get even close to this level of service and stock availability...
I tried to order a Berghaus jacket for my Grandson. The website does not offer an express delivery. I rang customer services but was told in no uncertain terms that they could not offer me an express delivery and their store prices were different to the Website price.
I rang the store which is some 60 miles away but they would not even put one to one side for me to collect, even if I paid for it over the phone.
Needless to say, I rang another company, who were polite and helpful and who despatched the jacket to me on Thursday afternoon, arriving with me on Friday.
I ordered a pair of Brasher superlights on Tuesday and they were delivered on Thursday without any problems at all. They were cheaper than anywhere else.No one had any in stock for the same price as Gaynors. Well done and I'm very happy and impressed with the company.
I needed a Berghaus Jacket urgently and Gaynors was one of very few to have the design, size and colour of my choice in stock. Given some of the negative reviews I was a bit nervous so I phoned Gaynors just to make sure I could actually speak to someone if things went wrong. Natalie picked up the phone within one ring and promised next day delivery (very impressive) - so for an order placed on a Friday it would be dispatched Monday for Tuesday delivery. I made the order online at about 12.45pm on Friday, and despite Monday being a bank holiday, the coat arrived exactly as promised on Tuesday. Thoroughly recommended, and would definitely use again.
I ordered a tent from them with two other small items, and received shortly after a confirmation saying that : "In the unlikely event that any item you have ordered is temporarily out of stock we will ship the available items to you and the outstanding items ASAP."
After 2 weeks I hadn't received the tent yet. I had to call them and someone told me that "the tent was out of stock and they forget to tell me about it". They added I could chose an other tent from their site as a replacement.
The thing is : the tent I was in the first place interested, in was apparently available on their site again, but at a different price : higher than the one I agreed for on my order.
I explained the situation through the phone to someone who after not beeing very comprehensive, told me she will call me later in the day to tell me what to do : I never get this call back! I had to call them again 2 days later, and they couldn't yet give me an answer by phone!
Finally, I got a mail saying I will not get my tent for the price I was suppose to pay, and if I really want it, (because they had it!) I will have to pay something like 70£ more!
So in the end : I've wasted much time with this people who are unable to comminicate quickly and whose way to sell thing is just disrespectful of any commitment.
Be really carefull with this company!
Read some not very good reviews, gladly I wasn't put of as I had visited the shop on previous occasions. Ordered 2 Berghaus jackets on Tuesday which arrived this morning (Thurs). Excellent price even with delivery charge, same jackets at Millets with a buy on get one half price plus a 10% off code cost more! Jackets excellent quality as expected. Would recommend and use again.
Gaynors have a seperate mail order business which from my experience is a complete shambles.I placed an order for a childs coat and paid by credit card as this was marked IN STOCK. I received an email to confirm payment and heard nothing since. I tried ringing a number of times and the phones was always busy. When I finally got through I was told that it was out of stock and they should have new stock in about 2 weeks time. I contacted them again and am told they wont have any more in and the order would be cancelled. No emails to confirm anything. Just a complete waste of time. Buyers Beware LOOK ELSEWHERE
