Ordered a Tanglewood Ukulele while at work on Monday evening.Got confirmation email straight away. Used the tracking id I was given and the Item turned up on Wednesday.Cant fault the service and the Tanglewood is so much better than the Ashton uke I brought to learn on and I am a very happy strummer. I placed an order and choose the delivery date and paid extra for morning delivery. On the morning of the delivery I hadn't received a dispatch email so I phoned to check and was told that I had chosen a different delivery date! After 5-10 mins on the phone , it was sorted and they apologised and said they would refund the delivery cost and I would receive my order the next morning. That night 10pm I received an email saying that my order date had changed. I phoned the following morning to be told it would be delivered the next morning , no apology nothing , just said that one item wasn't in stock but had just come in and would be sent today. I argued that yesterday whoever I had spoken to had checked and told me that all the items were in stock. I explained that I had already taken 2 mornings off work and it was not acceptable but he really didn't care. Worst delivery experience ever , and I am yet to receive my goods !
Purchased a guitar from the site and selected the option of next day / Saturday delivery at £10.99. Guitar did not come. Was told I'd be refunded the £10.99, though that did not happen straight away. When asked when the next best day for delivery would be, I asked for Wednesday or Thursday delivery, and both days came and went with no response from gear4music and no guitar arriving.
Tweeted about my frustration, and received an immediate response (surprise, surprise, company can't be made to look bad in public, eh!) and was told that my guitar would be with me the next day and received an e-mail saying that I would be refunded the £10.99 delivery fee (where have I heard that before?) and an additional £25 for any inconvenience. I was told that the guitar would be with me on saturday. Which came and went, and no guitar, instead, an e-mail from the couriers saying that they have just received my guitar from G4M and that it would be with me on Tuesday!
Guitar arrived on Monday! Took it out of the box and there is a dent in the front of it.
Although I had no mad rush to get the guitar, constantly being lied to about change of dates was frustrating. After about 5-6 different correspondences it seems that they don't really know what they're talking about RE the postal system / dealing with customers, but lying isn't a good place to start when your companies actions don't back you up.
Perhaps I am most surprised that Gear4Music even managed to get the guitar to me at all, so at least for that, I am grateful.
Placed my order on the 15th November, paid extra for Saturday delivery. Received an email at 21.45 hours the night before advising that my order delivery date had been changed. Contacted them by phone on the Saturday morning to complain and was asked when would I like the order to be delivered again. Said the following Saturday but I was not willing to pay another extra charge for a Saturday delivery and I wanted a refund of the extra charge that I had already paid. They took the full amount out of my account so had to contacted them again to request the refund again, finally got it. The following Friday received another email at 10.00pm advising that my order would not be delivered yet again. When I contacted them again they could not tell me why my order was not delivered as it was sitting in the deport waiting to go. I said that I wanted this before Wednesday the following week and they said that would be arranged. Advised I wanted it delivered in the afternoon. Got an email today to advise that my order had been despatched and would be delivered tomorrow between 6.30am and 7.30pm, so much for requesting an afternoon delivery. Will wait and see if it actually gets delivered this time.
I have ordered a few times of gear4music and so far i have no complaints...ive had to email and ring them in the past for info i needed and they where extremely helpful and prompt. Ive never had problems with delivery all my stuff has been delivered by dhl, one of my last orders was not to my liking i wasn't happy with some effects pedals i had bought so i got intouch with G4m and i had dhl at my door the next day collecting the pedals to be sent back free of charge..i asked them to hold my refund there as i wanted to order somthing else instead, and they done that for me and when my stuff was returned they rang me to ask what i wanted to purchase next..there delivery charge is low and ive always got my stuff within 3 days...i recommend them to all my mates and other musicians...A great online shop with a great service.....keep up your great service
Wow, ordered my daughters cello starter kit yesterday, was given a delivery date between 3-5 dec and it arrived safe and sound with nothing missing this morning, best online shopping so far and will definitely recommend to any musical friends.
Bottom line is that two Saturdays and DPD have failed to deliver my order. They attempted to deliver on a Monday when I was at work. Their customer service actually arranged todays non delivery. Total refusal to deliver to the school where I work!
When I realised from the tracker that my delivery was still in a warehouse I contacted DPD who told me that my delivery MIGHT be on the van.
G4M have already refunded the extra Saturday delivery charge that I paid.
Luckily this is only a small order - but I am still seething!
Would I buy say a £2500 piano from you?

I ordered a guitar and case for my son for Christmas. The items were delivered next day as promised. Excellent. Except, the guitar had been removed from the original packaging and placed in the case, and repacked by the courier (Yodel) into a flimsy cardboard box with very little paper padding inside. This resulted in damage to the case (only £90) and left me feeling cheated that I had not been able to experience the anticipation and excitement of opening something for the first time and unwrapping my item myself. I also can't help but feel something is missing. Surely no quality guitar manufacturer is only going to package the guitar with just a bag of bits. No warranty card, no welcome to XXX guitars, no care guide, no user guide (I know it an instrument, but they all have subtle differences). I feel like a kid who's come down on Christmas morning to find all their presents opened by someone else! Not Happy. However, the damaged case has been collected the next day, and hopefully, a replacement will be here soon.
ordered epiphone ukulele and belcat 15w slim amp on Monday and tracked until Thursday when they said that they had tried to deliver but they hadn't so after several phone calls to yodel they managed to phone their driver who was in next village so arranged to meet at coop to pick up package(never really wanted to be a courier) his excuse was that his sat nav sent him wrong..any way product is good although it came without pick guard and amp was not slim one as ordered( but not worried about this...)I would recommend this firm as I think courier was at fault..
Having looked on the internet for an electric guitar I came across the Gear4music website.
I found the guitar I wanted and the next morning I phoned them to arrange for it to be in their showroom.
I drove from Leicester to York (110 miles) and eventually found the shop, (sat nav not quite right, it's left at the second roundabout when you get onto Great north way).
My mother and I were both greeted with a friendly smile and a nice cup of tea, can't ask better than that.
After much running about back and forth to the stock room I eventually had all the stuff I had come for.

I ordered a Morphestra on a hard drive online. Someone from Gear 4 Music called 2 days later and told me that they no longer stock the product, just a download. This threw me a little - why did the website allow me to order if they no longer stock the full product?? As one of main reasons for ordering it was the convenience factor of having the sounds pre- installed on a hard drive, I declined and the guy I spoke to suggested a NI Complete package 9, which was a little cheaper, came pre-installed on a hard drive, and actually had more sounds. I thought I'd go for that, and asked the guy to send me a email confirming the change of order(not done) and asking that the extra money I'd paid via the website was refunded and this was put in an email to me(not done either).
I received the product today and what did I get?? I load of DVDs, not a pre-installed hard drive as I was expecting!! So now I'm going to have to spend hours installing all the DVDs, which is exactly what I was hoping to avoid. Furthermore I'll have to spend ages installing the DVDs AGAIN when I get my new Mac. Not happy at all. I feel like I've been deceived by Gear4Music.com. I'm a professional media composer and was expecting a professional service.
I ordered the guitar as a Christmas present for my sister. I have never bought from this site before and was a little nervous, however I am more than pleased. The guitar arrived today, (I only ordered it yesterday) and it's in perfect condition and it's simply beautiful! It put a smile on my sister's face. (She got the present early). Would definitely recommend.
Super service, we have bought.... powered monitors, leads, radio mic, guitar wireless i think also came from here, alesis compressor rack mount and a Mapex drum kit for our son who is learning.
We cannot fault G4M. We have read some bad reviews on here but people need to realise that sh*t can happen it doesnt makt G4M a bad company.

on the 19th Oct I ordered an Alesis two track stereo recorder.... Great price, £44.98 including delivery to France.
~Should have all gone well but it was sent in error to someone in Paris, rather than me in the Charente - I get someone else's delivery which I return to sender. - Ok, people can make mistakes- please send me out another.
"Sorry, We've sold out... We'll have to wait for it to come back and resend it.", they say.
I tell them that this does not work for me as I am returning tot the UK (Leeds)
Gear 4 music promise to keep me informed on the whereabouts of the parcel so we can arrange an alternative delivery address. The staff on the helpdesk are not proactive. Ben and Charlotte both failed to get back to me as promised and responded sporadically to follow-up mails or I got out-of -office automatic replies.
By 4th November (16 days after placing the order), I still have no product. I call again and actually arrange with Niam to drive to York on the 6th Nov and pick one up from the shop which is in stock, as I am about to return to France. Unfortunately when I get this home it does not work (The on/off switch is faulty). But good news ---- The one sent to Paris in error is back and I can exchange it for this one! I drive from Leeds to York again to make the exchange. When I get there I am told they have tested the return and this is faulty as well! After some discussion I agree to pay more to buy a similar product with a better reputation (Zoom H1 Digital Field Recorder). This has to be posted to me, because although I am in the shop it takes 3 hours to get it over from the warehouse.
I believe my experience with the company to be an exception, and, to be fair, I found the staff to be courteous even though they did not do what they said they would . It is also not their fault that the Alesis product is so unreliable. However, I dd get the impression that I was passed around and no-one took ownership or responsibility for the issues I encountered and I rate them very poorly for customer care. Their systems seem to be incapable of dealing with anything but a straightforward delivery of a working product.

Nothing wrong with the product. However, I opted to pay £14.99 for the "before 10am" delivery option as don't get paid if I don't go to work. So was happy with paying for the convenience of an early delivery. I waited in for the delivery and at 10.20am started to wonder what was happening and getting a bit cross as I was going to be late for work. I phoned customer services and was told, no, I had only paid for the standard delivery which could arrive at any time that day and needed a signature. I politely pointed out that no, indeed I had not, and I had an e-mail to prove that I had paid the extra charge. Eventually she checks this out and agrees and apologies to me. What transpires is that the delivery company would not deliver to me before 10am because of my location (near Berwick-upon-Tweed, hardly the back of beyond!!). So rather than call me to check my circumstances and ask me what i would like to do instead, someone just refunded the extra charge - without even an e-mail or a call!! So, I have only paid the standard rate which was not my choice and of course now i have to wait for the delivery which could be any time that day. How inconvenient is that when you have not selected this option? Why did they not communicate this me? A quick phone call or e-mail to let me know and allow me to make a decision would surely not be too much to ask. Was I willing and able to sit in all day and wait for the delivery. or perhaps I would like a refund?? Those should have been the options given to me. Very poor communication. I have sent an e-mail to complain but no response. I should just send the product back but then i would be out of pocket having to pay the return charge. NOT HAPPY! So, if you do decide to go for the more expensive, but convenient, option of delivery before 10am make sure you call to check they delivery to your area.
I have used Gear4Music before but only felt obligated to do a review today.
When it comes to guitar gear (pedals, straps, stands etc) they have an amazing selection as well pretty hard to beat prices!
Once you get on their VIP pricing plan too you'l really start to notice the prices! In this order I ordered a small mixer which was a good 25% cheaper than I have seen elsewhere.
They are usually always really quick with your delivery too.
However, the reason I have put 4 stars instead of 5 today is because their last order they used the courier company Yodel to deliver my parcel. Yodel are a sorry excuse for a delivery company and I have been burned by them many times. This time it has resulted in my packed still not arriving (it is Friday 8th, it should have been here on Tuesday 5th). I know that isn't really G4M's fault as such but I really wish they would change couriers, unless there is an option on check out to select a different courier that I am perhaps missing.
Anyway, the service, prices and quality of the products from G4M speak for themselves. I'd recommend them to anyone!
The guys and girls at Gear4Music could not have been more helpful in getting the bass replaced as quickly as they did when it first arrived damaged, and despite the weather being particularly unhelpful when it came to arranging the collection of the broken one.
The guitar itself (I bought the Round Back Electro Acoustic Bass Guitar) is great - wonderful sounds and playability, and fantastic value. I shall definitely be back for more.
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent. 24-hour after placing my order, T.N.T were delivering my "Subzero" amp and cabinet to my door. The packaging was in good condition, and proved very effective. After 4 hours of continuous play my 50 watt amp head and 2-12 cabinet, was still singing "oh so sweetly". Thank you for your prompt service, " I WILL BE BACK"..........from Ronnie John
First time i have used gear4music and was a little worried. I needn't have been. Ordered my guitar on wednesday morning, received thursday lunch time. Cant fault the service at all.
Will deffo use them again in future. 5* from me.
The delivery was really fast, however the boxing was badly damaged, and after i had opened the box, it came apparent that the wood had a bit chipped off, nothing big.
Furthermore, i had witness the delivery man dropped the boxing, I'm not too sure whether this caused the damage or somewhere else during dispatch. It is a shame, but it isn't a big piece that is damaged. Would like the one piece to be replaced though.
Gear4music is a great company where i have always purchased my music equipment from, and will continue to buy from them in the future. As this is the only time i have ever had a problem.
Ordered a Big Muff Pi bass edition along with a new cable on Tuesday morning. Paid for cheapest delivery option as I was in no hurry for the items. Received email on Tuesday night saying that they had been dispatched that day. Now I was expecting my stuff to arrive Thursday/Friday so imagine my surprise when early this afternoon my package arrived. Better that I'd thought it'd be and hats off to the courier company you used too. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends to use you guys and will no doubt use you again.
I placed an order yesterday Friday,at midday, for a VOX Pathfinder 10B amplifier and paid the extra postage fee for Saturday delivery!. I was a bit apprehensive as to how my order could possibly be be processed, packaged and dispatched in such a short time for next day delivery. I was very pleasantly surprised this morning when I checked my e-mails to be informed that my order would arrive within the next hour, between 9am and 10am!. There was a knock on the door at 09-40am and a very pleasant DDP courier had my parcel for me!. The packaging was first class and the amplifier is excellent!. I could not fault the service, from start to finish and I would certainly recommend Gear4music to anyone. I wouldn't hesitate to shop with them again in the future!. I ordered a digitial drum kit on a Friday morning. Delivery options were the following Tuesday, Wenesday or Thursday so I opted for Tuesday. Later in the day, on Friday, I had a dispatch confirmation and the package arrived the following morning - securely packaged etc.
Gear for Music kit had been recommended by a pro-musician friend but I'd already looked at more expensive kits from the likes of Yamaha, Roland, Alesis & Korg. I searched the Gear for Music site for their own brand kits and looked at their most expensive one - substantially cheaper than similar 'high brand' models. Having read the impressive MusicRadar review and with the Gear for Music 14 day return policy I thought I'd take a punt.
No problem - the kit was set up and being played in less than an hour. Very impressed with all round quality and level of service. Just hope it stands the test of time but the racks are sound and well constructed so I'm confident.
I ordered a boss GT100 from Gear4music and then they emailed me that they only had one ex-showroom-display item in stock. They refused to offer discount on the grounds that the cost price of this item had dropped and were making nothing on this order. Although they did initially acknowledge they would usually either buy in a new one or offer discount they couldn't in this case.
Gear4music continued to list this as a new item on their website at usual full price. I pointed out they were misrepresenting the product as it's clearly not new. They denied they were misrepresenting yet continued to list it as new on their website.
I told them I would be contacting trading standards and they told me because the unit had only sat on a shelf in a showroom it was brand new! What a joke!

Initially ordered and paid for Behringer MS40 Digital Monitor Speakers on 18/09/2013 order no.W664045. Order arrived and was signed for on the 23/09/2013, Paperwork was for the Speakers, what was delivered was a CDP 120 Casio Digital Piano which cost approx.€261 more., I could have kept it and no one would be any the wiser, but I didn't. I informed Gear4Music of THEIR mistake the same day and for my troubles got a credit of €7.20(delivery charge) and the promise that my speakers would be delivered A.S.A.P. Details for the new order, M741032 stated a delvery date of 03/10/2013,Now 04/10/2013 and no speakers. I would have thought that Gear4Music would have pulled out all the stops to ensure that my order was fast tracked to me. Bitterly disappointed,16 days after my order was placed and I am still waiting.Looks like honesty was not the best policy in this case.

I wasn't sure what size guitar hard case to protect my guitar on a flight so I emailed gear 4 music and I promptly had a reply from James who advised me on a couple of cases that would suit my guitar and give it great protection. He sent me the links to make it easier to find them straight away. I ordered it Sunday and received it Tuesday . Excellent advise excellent service and very speedy. Really pleased with the case my guitar fits nicely in there and I will be reassured that it will be protected. Huge thankyou to James for his help and the company for processing my order so quickly . Will definitely use this company again and definitely recommend .

Ordered KRK monitor speakers,USB keyboard and an audio interface for my sons birthday present.Made the order over the phone ,chose the delivery date and all seemed good.In the evening I checked My email for confirmation and found nothing.
Called again next day and after 30 min they eventually found my order had been cancelled for no apparent reason.
Reordered and this time paid extra for a morning delivery and guess what 12.00 comes and no order so called again to find that the order had been put down for normal delivery.Eventually the goods turned up mid afternoon so asked for refund on the extra delivery cost which they agreed but Im still waiting!
