Second time unlucky with GLTC. First time we bought a bed for my daughter. Pictures looked good but it was very badly damaged on delivery and attempts to fix failed. Ended up buying another from another supplier.
Tried again with a set of bookshelves for my daughter but they have supplied shelves with manufacturing fault. In a nutshell Quality Control is poor and their customer service is poor as well.
I've bought some gorgeous accessories for my children's bedrooms which will really finish the rooms off. The items I ordered arrived very quickly and were very well packaged. The items were good quality and I'm very happy with my purchases. Thank you. I'll definitely be shopping with you again.
We ordered the white play table with storage drawers underneath, and when it arrived, it was quite clear that it had already been sent out to another customer and returned. Some sections were damaged/worn and the pack that held the screws etc had been sellotaped together, with the alun key missing.
I emailed customer services and they promptly apologised and sent out a new one (before the first was picked up). The second table was even worse! Brand new from factory, but the build quality was horrendous. There was patched up paint/filler on many of the pieces, that could just be scratched away to reveal bare mdf. A piece of plastic edging had come away from a drawer and had been crushed during packing.
Again I contacted customer services, and another apology and offer of a new one. Could not go through all the packing/unpacking, waiting for delivery and disappointment again so refused replacement and asked for refund. Received £10 credit to my account as compensation, but tbh I just wanted a play table for my son!!! For the prices gltc charge, you would not expect such shoddy products. Great customer service is all very good but if the product is no good then I shall not be returning to buy furniture. Thoroughly disappointed.

I've bought countless number of items on GLTC. Kids' furniture in particular is top quality, beautifully finished and easy to build.
they also have a range of innovative and useful items for the children.
Bought this for my elderly neighbour who was delighted with it as it is long and she can bathe comfortably and safely. It is keeping clean and no mould so far, so we are all delighted with it. Nice bright clean looking mat.
Gorgeous toybox. Flatpack so building it was fun- u need an electric drill or it will take all day. End result is stunning Im realys pleased
This looked good on line and was advertised as being appropriate for both indoor and outdoor use. However, there is no way this is suitable to use outdoors. I have had to go out and purchase a brush and varnish to enable it to be whether proofed, and it's really fiddly to paint too. It is made from very soft untreated wood and the poles go in wonky. Really disappointing. I hazard a guess my first and last purchase from GLTC. Or not so Great as the case maybe.
I recently ordered a storage system from GLTC, the quality of the furniture is second to none. The delivery was fast. The company are polite and efficient to deal with. I would not hesitate to recommend them
Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful wooden toys that pass the 3 year old boy test!! Will never buy plastic toys again. The Carnaby kitchen was the best money ever spent.
I order from the USA for my family in the UK (waiting for a bed and chairs to be delivered now) and we are so very very happy with the service and the items! I'm planning on furnishing the grandchildren's rooms from your store ... one grandson now and a granddaughter on the way! we won't shop anywhere else for the things we want!
This rug is better than it looked on line. Looks great, lovely colours, good quality. Very quick delivery, would definitely shop with them again and recommend them to others. Really pleased with it all.
We recently ordered a sling bookcase. We were told that it would be delivered by a certain date. That date came and went. After a few days I called up to be told it was out of stock. THEN WHY TAKE OUR ORDER!! Once again told another date, which came and went AGAIN!! Called up again and told new date which was finally correct. Very apologetic on the phone and gave us some money back which was good but just wish it hadn't happened on the first place. Product is excellent though and my daughter loves it so would recommend the product if they can deliver it like they initially promised!!
I live in Australia and my small granddaughters live in the Rep. of Ireland. I ordered a wigwam for them as a special Christmas gift and GLTC said it was dispatched on 23 November. When it didn't arrive by 10 December I contacted GLTC and they said they could only track to the N. Ireland border, and beyond that they did not know what courier company was used to take the goods into the Rep. of Ireland and therefore had no idea where the parcel might be. I was assured a second wigwam was dispatched on 11 December; however, it hadn't arrived by Christmas. I had many late night (from Australia) phone calls and emails to GLTC and kept getting assurances that the parcel would arrive on time. It seems clear to me that they were out of stock but still kept taking orders and making promises. They really led me on and prevented me going to another supplier who would have been able to deliver before Christmas. Thanks GLTC for helping to ruin Christmas Day for our granddaughters. I have now sourced another wigwam from another supplier so the children will receive a very late Christmas present from their very disappointed and upset grandparents.

I purchased 16 mixed boxes of various different designs from GLTC. Having decided that some of the boxes were surplus to our requirments I made use of their free returns process and spent a considerable period of time filling in all of their return forms.
They use a Royal Mail 'Freepost' service which after posting I was informed by GLTC would take two weeks to get back to them (and they weren't joking!). After two weeks when they did finally receive the item back they processed a refund and sent me an email confirming the items they received back - this didn't nearly cover what I had sent back to them and the refund was about £50 short. I made them aware that their refund statement was incorrect and a day later they have 'investigated with their warehouse', and they have added a couple of items to the refund, but they are still over £20 short.
The service I have received in trying to resolve this is rude and aprupt with no genuine apology for their ongoing mistakes (which they still haven't resolved), they simply take the line 'we have 30 days to process a refund'. I don't trust them in the slightest, this simply appears to be either complete incompetance (the items are all in one box with the paperwork listing all items that are returned), or a dishonest attempt to rip me off. One would think that after I had pointed out that it was inaccurate they would manage to get it right second time around, but sadly not - more wasted time for me.
To sum up a poorly run faceless internet business selling overpriced goods, without the values or service to justify the price and certainly doesn't look to act in the best interests of their customers. Certainly no John Lewis philosophy here. Not the sort of retailer you want to have to deal with when things go wrong (which apparently is very frequently!)

They have some really lovely products, some unique. The catologue is very inspiring and you want to buy everything, unfortunately most things do seem quite expensive so I end up looking else where. However saying this, I am sure the quality of their products is very high, so I guess you get what you pay for. Unfortunately most parents are on a budget so although they would love to buy lots of items from their catologue it can get very pricey.
A few offers with perhaps free deilivery on orders over £30 (instead of £50) would persude me to buy odd items I'm sure.
Overall love the products & service but bit pricey for the average parent
easy to assemble, sturdy piece of furniture. The bookcase I purchased was a second due to paint finish however I failed to find fault with it!! My daughter loves it, it holds all her trinkets, DVDs and books- there is hope of a tidy bedroom after all!!!
I love buying stuff from GLTC because it feels like a real treat for the kids but they are really cute, chunky , sturdy toys. I've also bought all my friends kids presents for christmas and birthdays so they know its come from a really good shop.
I was a bit disappointed as I ordered a product in the sale that was out of stock. The website suggested that the product would be back in stock within a few months. I later received an e-mail stating that this item would be in stock much further in the future and not at the sale price.
We placed an order for a number of items and later the same day received an offer code by email. GLTC would not let us use the discount dispite the fact the order hadn't even been shipped yet and said it was too late to cancel it and reorder the items.
I found this very dissapointing, sent an email stating this to GLTC and have never even received an acknowledgement of my issues.
So if you are going to order with GLTC, check all the discount wedbsites first as they don't care once you have placed the order.
I have never had a duff order. Their service has always been excellent and speedy. My only negative comment would be the price of their oversea shipping, although at least they now ship overseas!
Sent them SEVERAL emails, got only one reply. After that, plainly ignored
Called a few times and got a simply absurd answer.
After taking 6 weeks to deliver an item that they claimed was in stock when i ordered - miraculously it went out of stock 5 minutes AFTER i placed my order - they called to arrange delivery while i'd be travelling.
When i said i couldnt take delivery on that date, they said the next available date "for my area" would FOUR WEEKS later, bringing the total to 10 weeks.
Now i would probably understand it if i lived in a remote part of nowhere.
But where do I live? In Central London!!!
If you think i'll believe your delivery lorry comes to London ONCE A MONTH, then this company is nothing but a joke. Nice website and catalogue, but on the other side there must be 3 guys taking cigarette breaks all day.
Terrible customer service. Unreturned phonecalls, unanswered e-mails. Delivery of 4-6weeks was actually 10weeks. You have to chase delivery yourself and deal with a supplier who deals with a manufacturer and still you don't get answers. The dainty playhouse of 110x110cm was 122x124cm and wouldn't fit the intended site. I could've ordered a playhouse of this size anywhere but needed a smaller one and so placed an order with GLTC. Never again!! This problem has arisen before when I ordered personalised items from GLTC. They seem to have a problem with their suppliers and other than passing on your order have no more contact unless you complain. They should be the ones checking that your order has been sent and advising of problems - you should not have to do it yourself!
Massive disappointment. I ordered furniture Valentine collection worth over £1000, despite of some bad review and regret. The wardrobe I received 3 weeks ago worth £650 have two shelves not being painted, they look like from production line!!!! Plus right door does not close as the latch on the bottom is not measured properly. I addressed these. Made number of phone calls, VERY VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, I had to chase them to find out about exchange!!! Finally spoke to manager who promise to solve this, got phone call next day saying they contacted supplier and they will let me know if this shelves will be exchanged, I have not heard from them since then, that was over a week ago. Last Saturday told them about door, and luckily my partner fixed it. Can not believe paying so much money and getting this quality. Chest of drawers and bookshelf are beautiful so is wardrobe if not these two shelves and door. I will have to call them next week to find out what is happening, and probably will be PROMISE them calling me back AGAIN. GLTC does not deserve best retail award, and hopefully they will not get one for this year, I will make sure to contact someone who is responsible for this award giving. WILL DEFINITELY NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM EVER AGAIN. Regret I did not go for ASAPCE!
I ordered a swimming bag 5 weeks ago and I am still awaiting delivery. Numerous phone calls to them, and many promises, all broken. All responsibility being placed on the supplier, who they tell me has been experiencing a lot of problems. When asked will they continue to use such an unreliable supplier told yes we've always used them! A very unprofessional company. I will not use them again.
I ordered over £250 worth of products and I got a confirmation day after that SOME of the items were dispatched with delivery paid for 3-5 days. After 10 days I did not get my order so I contacted customer service and got a response saying that the computer system did not register my address, so I sent them my address again at which point I got another e-mail saying some of the items were dispatched. I waited another 10 days and then called customer service. They confirmed my items were not dispacted but ready to be but they were unwilling to pay for next day delivery after 21 days of waiting for part of my order. There was no apology or attempt to fix the problem. I cancelled my whole order as I would have to wait 21 + 3- 5 days normal delivery. OUr credit card statement came in soon after this ordeal and they had already charged us the full amount of the order. I then called to get a refund and they refunded me less than the amount charged (they pockected £17)....I had to leave it to my credit card company to deal with this as customer care have not been responding to my e-mails to fix the problem. I would never order from them again, there are other great websites around and it is not worth the amount of effort I put in to get nothing at the end of it and also be charged!!!
I have never ordered anything that has been out of stock from this company so have never experienced the supply issues others reviewers have. A bed and toy box arrived on time and were fantastic quality for the price, even to the point that the end of the bolts had been spray painted in different colours to match the coloured wood on the products. They are not always the cheapest for smaller things but have decent sales and I do think that they provide excellent quality for the price. I still use them and have not so far had a bad experience. Woiuld recommend them for the quality of what I have already recieved for the price charged
As of today, will have waited 15 weeks for a bed, and we are still waiting. We have been given an estimate of 'at least' another week, although the website now says that the bed in question will not be back in stock until 5th March 2010, which would mean an 18 week wait in total. I have made at least 7 calls to customer service, with the same supplier excuses each time. It seems they have no control over the suppliers whatsoever and I can't help feeling they could do themselves a favour and change their supplier, otherwise they will lose custom. They are apparently waiting for a 'part' which just makes me wonder what on earth this bed is made of, surely not the oak they advertise it as, pure gold maybe? We have had no problems with smaller items being delivered from them, but this is the second time we have ordered a bed, and had a similar problem with the first one, although not to such a great extent. It has certainly put us off ordering furniture from them again.
