I joined Clapham netball as an individual and have loved it. I had just moved to London and wanted to meet new people. My team was great and really friendly, everyone was there to have fun and get some exercise. I've made some great friends through it. The staff are always really helpful and friendly. It's definitely a league I would recommend to anyone looking to play social netball and make some new friends. The socials are brilliant too!
I’ve been playing in netball leagues across London for over 5 years now and Go Mammoth are not the first league in London but have got very big very quickly; the problem with this is they have forgotten they are providing a service to the social players and my personal experience with them has been disappointing. Don’t get me wrong they do have someone who will get back to you if you have any problems but I felt like when they do they are not willing to help and talk very condescendingly back to you!
Problems I encountered included over subscribing members to my team, not ensuring a team they put together composes of a cross mix of members willing to play all the positions on the court, asking me to fill in for members of other teams only to turn up and not be needed and an ability to compromise (unlike many other London leagues) when issues relating to new piercings were raised.
If you are looking for a netball league I would recommend going with one of the smaller long running companies such as Topcorner, Netbusters, Social Netball, etc. I have had too many problems with Go Mammoth to continue with their leagues and suggest you consider the other netball leagues before you commit to one of their leagues too.
My netball team has been playing together in London for over 3 years now and we have tried various organisations throughout the years. We are now into our 3rd season with GO Mammoth and can honestly say that they are by far the best all rounders as far as netball clubs go! The Clapham League is very well run, and whilst occassionally we disagree with some decisions, we generally find the umpiring to be of a good and fair standard. The umpires are also very good at offering advice to better improve our play, and they actually seem like they want to be there - other clubs umpires do not hide the fact that they've "had a bad day".
I can recommend GO Mammoth to anyone out there looking for a netball club, and it is a testament to them that we didn't even consider another club at the end of last season! We look forward to many more with GO Mammoth.
I have gomammoth to be a good sports company that organises matches very well. They have an added benefit that organise social events on a regular basis providing good deals for a good night out. You get to meet lots of new people and have a lot of fun whilst still remaining competitive within games. The only thing I would say that needs a bit of improvement is the knowledge and training of the referees involved to ensure consistant descisons on the pitch for everyone.
I played netball with go mammoth last winter and also with one another league. Go Mammoth was much more fun, the people really nice and friendly, up for a laugh but still great games. The social side is great too. If you are new to the city or just looking for some fun exercise and to meet new people I strongly recommend.
This is my third season playing GoMammoth dodgeball and I can't get enough. It's incredibly fun and a great way to blow off steam and meet friends mid-week!
I would highly recommend joining - there is a full range of abilities and level of play in the Clapham Wednesday league. So whether you're interested in playing quite intensely or having a laugh, you will be find what you're looking for. And it will be awesome.
GoMammoth is a fantastic league. It's extremely well organized and administered. The staff are wonderful - they even went out of their way to call my mobile several times when my team had forgot to re-register for a season.
Go sign up now! You will NOT regret it!
The netball team I've been playing for organised by Go Mammoth has been a great way to meet new people I wouldn't of usually of got to socialize with. They create a real sense of community within the teams and develops this further within the amazing social events that I now ALWAYS look forward to. The staff are all helpful and willing to go above and beyond for us.
My friends and I joined the Clapham Dodgeball league and have only positive things to say about GoMammoth.
Ok so, ‘it’s the taking part that counts” may sound a little cliché but it's a testament to the organisation and attitude of the GoMammoth team that means that the winning of a game or match or league has no bearing on your levels of enjoyment.
The leagues are very well organised and regularly updated, the website is easy to follow so you can easily check your fixture list and league standings and the money it costs to sign up for a league is fair especially when you compare to the cost of hiring sports halls and equipment, paying referees or visiting the gym.
We have received an excellent level of customer service by the Mammoth team; the staff are enthusiastic about their work and exhibit the ethos the more you put into to something the more you get back. They are friendly, quick to respond to enquiries and always willing to go that extra mile.
I would highly recommend signing up for a league, not only to be a little more active but also to meet new people (which can be difficult in London) and potentially take advantage of 2-4-1 drinks offers.
Seize the day. You'll not regret signing up but may regret missing out.
Go Mamouth really is a top draw operation . I have played in the dodgeball leagues now for over 6 months now and thoroughly enjoy it . The games are well organized, the competition is competitive whilst remaining fun and it is nice to play in mixed teams for a change. It could do with communal showers though!
I moved to London last year, and had played netball previously in South Africa.
I was desperately wanting to play again, and joined Go Mammoth, BEST DECISION! I'm currently playing my 3rd season now, and have made a new group of friends. Everything is arranged, from the court to our own sports top and referees.
I love tuesdays! :)
This is the second season The RazorSharks are playing Dodgeball for the Go Mammoth Clapham league and we love it! Joining as a company, we decided a bit of extra-curricular activity was good for team-building and morale. As a result we've made a load of good friends, both within the team and from the other teams who play each week.
The game is good - competitive, but not too serious with efficient refereeing. Clapham Leisure Centre is a great venue - clean and modern and the league is well-organised with a serious emphasis on fun! Highly recommended for those who like a bit of exercise, but also a bit of drinking too. (There's discounted drinks for players in the local bar!) Oh and don't forget fancy dress week! See photo attached.
The clapham league seems great once your already in a team who have played for a while but I signed up as an individual player and I have to say the games aren't very enjoyable because the other players in my team have either never played before or haven't played for years. I am not very competitive but when you are constantly loosing by 30 goals or more the game isn't much fun. However for those joining as a team I would recommend it as a league. The refs and the courts etc are all great and I think gomammoth do a fantastic job.
I joined a netball team in Clapham last season and we've had a great time playing together. The organisation is excellent, umpires are friendly and we're getting on really well as a team. A great way to meet new people and have a bit of fun while exercising. What's not to like?
We have been playing for nearly two years now and thoroughly enjoy every week. The Go Mammoth team are a great bunch and the league is really well organised. I don't want to say too much as you might all come and join leaving no space for us!
Really friendly staff, super fast and organised online league! It is great value for money and although the refs can be a bit strict sometimes they are fair and always turn up (rain or shine) to do a great job. There seems to be loads of socials organised on the site (haven't made it to one yet but I will do) and the stats on the site are great.
Have signed up for another season of netball and might even sign up for Softball too!!
Only critism is they do not have a Twitter account - literally that is it!
Having moved to Clapham not so long ago, this has been really helpful in meeting new people too - thanks Go Mammoth!
Love love LOVE playing Netball on Thursday nights in Clapham, very professional, super organised and above all great fun.
So many lovely people and the socials are fab too - clearly lots of effort from Go Mammoth - all round a good set up.
Go Mammoth Boxfit at Stockwell is pretty much the best class I've ever done. I get bored easily and change around a lot, but this one is the only constant in my whole exercising life!
The trainers Ty and Charlie are friendly, helpful, advise on technique and effort levels without bullying, and most importantly a good laugh - normal blokes who you can imagine being your mates.
The class itself is great, you take it at whatever pace you're at and it's clear that you can have a rest if you need to. It's a brilliant workout, you'll definitely be aching at first but it's fun enough so you don't notice, and progress is quick if you make the effort. And punching things as hard as you can for prolonged periods is a great stress reliever :)
I genuinely have nothing bad to say, and no they're not paying me..! Give it a go.
I moved to London from Scotland and didn't know a soul. Being very sporty, it was important that I was able to combine keeping fit with making new friends. Go Mammoth was the perfect way to do this, the staff were helpful, professional and also really good fun. I would recommend joining, especially if you want to keep fit and have a great time.
This is a great social sports company. Really well organised, excellent way to keep fit and meet new people and the regular social events are really good fun. I would thoroughly recommend joining if you are looking to play sport and meet new friends
