SAW THE BEDCHAIR I WANTED AT GO OUTDOORS AND AND NOTICED THEY WILL NOT ONLY PRICE MATCH BUT WILL BEAT THAT PRICE BY 10%. DONE A LITTLE BIT OF SHOPPING AROUND ON THE LAPTOP(NOTHING DIFFICULT) AND SAVED MYSELF £27. BARGAIN!!!!!!!

All weather 3 in 1 - perfect. Highly recommended.

Cheap cost but quality material. Warm fleece and rain/wind tight outer jacket. The boys loved them.

The jackets size are large enough for growth. My 6 year old has the 5 to 6 and he has enough room for a couple of years.

Ordered a new tent and some extra bits, first time using the website, it couldn't be any more easier.

I love the demo video very handy on more expensive items such as tents to make sure you are getting what you want.

The ease of ordering what I wanted through to the quick delivery, taking in the fact you know you will have top support should you need it, was all simple, efficient and a joy.

If I had to recommend Go Outdoors then I would do so at the highest level. But should I recommend them? yes........but why not give them a whirl yourself, either online or in-store, I cannot praise them enough.

Recently purchased a Garmin Montana GPS with UK 1:50k OS maps, go outdoors price matched another company and an extra 10% reduction, so i saved myself £120, delivery was fast, all in all a very pleasant experience, would recommend 100%

Fast delivery but marred score due to slight damage to the roof bar end caps.

After a lack lustre experience in-store I decided to purchase the Mont Blanc roof bars online. The delivery was faster than expected and the bars were wrapped up very well. Unfortunately on closer inspection two out of the four plastic ends caps were split. This was surprising as the parcel was packaged very well so I do wonder if it was sent out in that condition. The bars in the store had the same problem so it may be that someone, somewhere is being too rough. At nearly £70 pounds I don’t expect any damage so I’m off to the local branch tomorrow to see if I can source some new caps.

Porch came the next day

Ordered the porch extension oline to the Mojave 5 tent we purchased last summer in store. Havn't used it yet but impressed that it was free P&P and it arrived the next day!

Packed with features

Decided on this pack as it had 6 litres more space than my old deuter one,and needed a little more room. The old one served me well but the zip access to it finally gave in and broke so a more traditional drawstring opening was decided upon. On receiving the pack I was instantly impressed with its light weight, and the extra length in the very comfortable airzone back . I also wanted a rain cover which this pack has and with a decent range of storage for mixed use. So far it has been great, and the incredible value for money at this price feels almost like I stole it ! Certainly worth considering if you intend to use it for a bit of walking, cycling and commuting . Highly recommended

Excellent local store; diabolical on-line service

We needed 2 life jackets for our grandchildren aged 6 & 4. The service we received from Vicky in the new Milton Keynes store was fantastic - she was extremely knowledgable and helped with the precise fitting. Unfortunately there was only one item left so she checked availability on-line and, seeing the price was lower than in-store, agreed we should only pay that price and buy the second jacket on-line rather than risk waiting for new stock. We did as suggested but the experience on-line could not have been more different.

Firstly, we tried the Reserve & Collect option but, unlike most stores, this doesn't mean delivery to store from stock found centrally or at another store - it only means order from a selected store from stock there. So that meant an aborted effort (and premium rate telephone call to clarify) since we'd bought the last item and this fact didn't register immediately on the website. We tried again and paid £4.95 for postage (most stores offer free delivery and if not, it's usually free or cheaper to send to a store). 3 days later the on-line depot sent us a jacket for a baby! When I rang the helpline (another premium rate call!!!), I was told there was no transport mechanism between themselves and the stores (again unusual in the modern retail world) so I must carefully package up the item & return it special delivery and, once checked, a new item would be sent and my postage cost refunded. I expressed concern that the item I needed might be out of stock by then and suggested I could take the item into the local store if they would post the replacement to me immediately but this was initially not accepted so I politely pointed out that I appeared to be making all the running to resolve an issue that was no fault of mine. This was met with a strongly ironic response of "I'm very sorry that someone sent you the wrong item";. Finally, it was agreed that a replacement jacket would be sent to me and that to reflect the inconvenience, free first class postage could be agreed provided I returned the item to the store. I returned the baby size jacket immediately and got my refund (not for the original postage of course!) and the correct jacket arrived the next day.

Needless to say, I will be most wary about using the on-line service again and would not recommend it to others until a fully joined-up company process is put in place. It is lucky for Go Outdoors that we had experienced the excellent in-store service first or we would not use this company again for any of our needs.

We are currently looking into setting up an Order and Collect service, which will enable customers to order online stock and have it delivered to their local store.

179 pound boots,4 months and the sole has gone,and its my fault!

Hi everyone,i bought a pair of scarpa delta walking boots just before christmas 2012,thinking they would last years like my last pair did,4 months down the line the grip on the soles were worn right down to nothing,i only used them for walking on a weekend,in the 4 months i owned them,took them back to go camping in wakefield last week,some rude salesman ordered me outside with a bucket and scrubbing brush to clean them,the boots were spotless anyway i had just done them before,anyway i did what he said so he couldnt fob me off,i came in after i cleaned them,to be greeted by security staff,he then said he would send them off and gave me a receipt,but gave no guarantee of repair or refund or replace,he was just trying to fob me off every step of the way,i now have a month atleast to wait,all i want is a refund or replacement boots,because no i am stuck with no boots and 179 pounds out of pocket,very eager to take my money but not so eager to stick to YOUR 12 months guarantee policy,i will be taking this matter further with trading standards/ombudsman if i am not treated fairly! I have been a member at go outdoors for a number of years,and on average must spend 5 or 6 hundred pounds a year on camping and hiking gear for me and my family,if this is not sorted fairly,they will not be getting any more of my money,i have a lot of friends use you has well,i think ill introduce them to field and trek! mr c.j.davies

We're very sorry about the issue with your boots. Unfortunately it is company policy to send an item like this back to the manufacturer to find out if it is a manufacturing issue on their part or if the item has been misused.

if the boots have only been used for weekend walking, there shouldn't be this kind of wear on them, and this will be noted by the manufacturers tests.

Excellent customer service, can't recommend enough.

We purchased the Outwell Montana 6P tent in the Swindon store. The manager was great & managed to find a price match with 10% off for us. The sales assistant (Alex) was highly attentive & very helpful in our decision between between two tents. He deserves a bonus for the amount of time he spent with us. We're looking forward to using the tent next week so will report back on that. I purchased the carpet separately over the phone, again with the price match guarantee. The service was great & can't fault it. Very, very pleased with the service in & out of store.

Great lightweight fresh clean fleece

This is my second pair!!

I ordered these boots after owning a pair of the same boots for the best part of 3 years, I've used them in all walks of life, from trekking, to country walks, to watching my sons play rugby in winter and they've never let me down. Made my purchase all seemed well until i had a note through the door say that my purchased had been left with the person next door (Who i have had many problems with) at no point did i suggest that it was okay for this to happen. When i called the company who delivered they could not help as the driver had not put a reference number on the card he left. Thankfully i was able to get someone to collect it from next door. The product seems ok but i have not used it as it has been hanging outside on the line for well over a week to try and get rid of the very strong smell.

Website easy to use, fast shipping and efficient customer service.

I recently purchased a Zenobia 6 man tent and porch from the Go Outdoors website.

The website itself was easy to use and checkout was quick and simple.

The items were dispatched and delivered free to my door (on the Isle of Wight) in less than 24 hours which was very impressive.

I did notice a glitch on the website a day after delivery which showed the tent to be significantly cheaper than the purchase price I paid. After pointing out what I had seen, a member of Go Outdoors customer service honored the glitch price and refunded me the difference.

I would definitely recommend Go Outdoors. The items I purchased were good quality at very competitive prices. Although nothing wen't wrong with my order I was really pleased with the additional discount/refund, which I plan to spend in store.

Disappointed

I ordered this for a planned trip as it said super fast delivery. I received a confirmation email for my order but I got concerned when after one week it did not arrive. I contacted them and told ii was out of stock but it would definitely be in on-time for the trip. I then received a further email saying "thank you for your order it will be in stock in April". I then had to go out and look for one as I did not have time to order another online. In all fairness they were quick with their refund but if they had only told me it was out of stock in the first place it would have saved me a lot of hassle and panic.

Not Good!

Placed my order on line, 4 days later my item arrives, not what i ordered! I then have to pay to send it back, one week later i have still not heard anything so we phone up, we will look in to it for you, will you let us know today, yes we will call you back today, next day still no phone call or email so we phone again,"im sorry but we have not received your returned parcel so i am now looking at the TNT website and it says that my returned parcel arrived and was signed for by a Go Outdoors staff member at 13.16! oh we will have a look for it, this time someone does phone back, we cannot find it but we will send out what you wanted today. Hooray it does turn up the next day and it is what i ordered in the first place. Well done Go Outdoors two weeks for one fishing rod.
This was a gift for a friend in Spain and i have to pay more to ship it out to him so he has it for his Birthday. Wont be using you again!

It's very important to get it right when buying walking boots. You need to look forward to wearing them when you are planning your next day/weekend of walking. At Go Outdoors the staff are technically knowledgeable and have their own experience to draw upon. Matt, who served us at our local store in Coventry, gave us time, advice and did not give the impression that a sale was the most important issue. The fact that we should be satisfied with what we bought was most important. We don't love shopping but we enjoyed the experience at Go Outdoors.

I ordered the items for myself and my son based on the recommendation from a friend. Sounded too good to be true. I was amazed at the prices and how much I save which was a great bonus but, even more so what the amazingly timed delivery - arrived so fast I hadn't actually had time to clear a space for it!!

Because of the weather at the moment I havent had a chance to put the items up but have had a quick look at them and they seem good quality and I am sure will not let me down.

I look forward to shopping with Go Outdoors again in the future and have already recommended them, based on their service, to other people.

discount card stops me buying there

What moron came up with this policy? Got made redundant from Matalan a decade ago is my guess?

Went to check out the store and see what is in stock; would have picked up a few (sub £10) items but would have had to pay extra for not having a card. Stuff that.

Plenty of choice closer to home. Won't make the journey again. Shame really, could be a good shop.

excessive postage for a beanie hat, after i,d been messed about by my local stores

Its only a bargain once you've got it, not when you find it, items never in stock at local stores and wont ship them between stores when home delivery is not available ?

I have shopped online and instore (Southampton and Bristol) and always find service and staff to be friendly and informed.

i got a parking ticket at swindon branch!

because i spent just over 2 hours in go outdoors in swindon 2hrs 5 minutes infact (missus was trying loads of gear on getting kitted out for dog walking) a week later i get a letter for a parking fine for £75!! what a joke?? parked right outside the store in their car park and get fined for spending money in there shop????? never again!! what a complete joke! if thats how paying customers get treated then i will be going elsewhere ..

Apologies for this, parking fines are dealt out by a third party and it's based purely on how long the car is parked in the car park according to the cameras.

If you bring your fine to the Swindon store, they can help you to get this fine over turned if you were shopping with us at the time.
