I purchased a subscription for my husbands xmas last year, it was supposed to come with a free gift which never arrived. When I queried this with the company I received a rude response but was eventually told another would be sent out. Again it never arrived. Not only this but we didn't receive the first 3 copies of the magazine. To date we've only had 4 of the possible 11 magazines due. I have been round and round in circles with their customer services team who are useless and rude. I will never use this company again and actively advise others not to either.
Thinking I have signed up for 12 months subscription only for them to take £80 out of my account for another year. I was never aware that a 12 months subscription would carry on and on unless you cancel.
Given that, an email warning you of subscription renewel would of been an honest way before taking money from my account.
They take your money but don't offer any service back, which is ILLEGAL. Their customer service is non-existent. They should be out of business and I am going to report them (to the police, which?, the trade association). If you all do the same I am sure they ll be forced to compensate us or, at least, to apologise.
I am really regretting paying for a year's digital subscription to a magazine sold by this company. They took funds from my account and I cannot access the digital content AT ALL. They are utterly useless at sorting the problem out (they don't even try to resolve it) and rarely answer emails. When they do reply, they say only that they are 'investigating and will update in two working days". I never hear from that person again, when I send a new message to their subscription department, a new person tells me 'they are investigating and will update in two days". This has been going on for weeks and weeks. I am amazed as they are clearly in breach of the Distance Selling Regulations that cover digital content, and they don't seem to be even slightly concerned. NEVER buy a subscription with this company!
Very misleading company, I took a 6 month subscription and they're now telling me it has to run for a year!! Why offer 6 months then! I've have now cancelled my direct debt after they have taken more money from me they are not entitled to and am in the process of trying to get it back. I would never use this company again and advise anyone to avoid. Cheeky buggers even asking for the free gift back, um, you can have that back, when I get my money back and not before. Consider it my compensation for being ripped off. Absolutely disgusted with the customer service, never dealt with such an awful company.
I have sent over 10 emails to there 'customer service' department as I should of received my gift in February and I keep being told its been sent or it will be sent but every time I ask for a confirmation it has been sent I get fobbed off and now 21st June (4 1/2 months later) I receive an email to say they have had problems sourcing gift and it will be sent today. This is really not good enough and who knows if they are telling the truth this time or if I will have to wait another 4 1/2 months.
What is wrong with honesty if they didn't have the gift 4 1/2 months ago say that and then keep the customer informed on when the gift will be received that would of been fine but lying to customers is just wrong and I do not feel you even deserve the 1 star rating. BEWARE
Don't buy anything from this company!! This is my 3rd year of using these for a christmas present for my husband but this year they are RUBBISH!! Its now 23rd March and i'm still awaiting my FREE GIFT, from DECEMBER!! I have phoned this company more than 6 times and have been told the FREE GOLF CLUB has been sent out 3 times, which i have never received but i don't have any problems receiving any other deliveries. I have requested a REFUND over a month ago and i am still waiting. I have spoken to a few managers over my problems with this company, who promise to phone back but never do and when phoning this company and asking to speak to a manager i'm told there on there break or in a meeting. THIS COMPANY TAKES YOUR MONEY AND DOESN'T GIVE YOU WHAT YOU PAY FOR, SO IF YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF THEN USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the second time over the last few years Great Magazines has let me down. My recent problem was ordering 12 months FHM subscription with free aftershave. I've contacted them 4 times since ordering chasing up my free gift (it's now been nearly 11 weeks). I had had a few delivery dates promised to me ("allow up to X amount of days" etc) and all those times have passed.... As far as I'm concerned they make promises they cannot keep and the customer service staff are generally liars!
Update: I have since received an email stating there is a delay with stock - thus confirming all previous emails from other employees were complete lies!!! I think this may be delay tactics so that it's too late to dispute with my credit card. Never again.
My boyfriend got me a gift subscription for Grazia from this website as it was really cheap, got it on his credit card just in case there were any problems. Magazine came a few weeks later, a few times it was a day late, but other than that had no problems for the 6 months he had signed me up.
When the subscription finished I took one out myself and again it has been great, no problems at all so I would definitely use this site again. Only downside is the selection of magazines is a bit limited.
