After a few purchases from them I am satisfied with the steam codes etc but for the first time i have bought Assassins Creed Black Flag and wanted to play this weekend though when it started it said 5 hours to download and now its saying 6 days... the issue is their end and I am thinking about getting a refund...
Very good service. Cheaper than Steam, but they still give Steam keys.
I have heard that they sometimes 'run out' of games for a couple of days, with preorders of very popular games, so perhaps be careful if you preorder something you want to play immediately upon release.
I've had no problems, however. I did get charged twice when PayPal went haywire, but the customer service was fast, clear, and very very good - I got a refund swiftly.
I would highly recommend GMG.
Green Man Gaming advertised a free game for voting in the Golden Joystick awards. The voting system was buggy to begin with and extremely hard to use. I notified them of the issue and that I had cast my vote. They said they would honor it and sent me a link for my steam activation code. Click on the link and I get a 404 error. Email customer support and am told that they had a limited number of keys and that I will not be receiving a game. I ask how this could be since they stated I had already gotten a key assigned to me. Their response was basically to go pound sand because they weren't giving out any more keys.
Funny thing is I don't ever remember seeing anything on the voting website that they were out of keys and they still advertised the promotion. Pretty sure that is illegal to do.
Edit 1: Sigh.....116875.
Edit 2: Well, it has been two weeks and still no response even though I updated it with the order number. I would be very cautious using this company for anything. They apparently only reply to comments on here to give the impression of addressing complaints, but don't actually do anything.

I purchased battlefield 4 north american release expecting the promise of when the game was release on the 29th and i still have not gotten my key or a response from GMG.The game was released 10-29-13 EST 00:00. will stick with amazon or steam instead of this place. Since i stream on twitch tv i will make sure my subscribers and followers to avoid your company at all costs.
I paid my money and expected delivery when game released!!!
Bought a BF4 key and after a full 24 hours, no product has been delivered. Hundreds of people are having the exact same issue with these guys. Absolute scam artists. Avoid at ALL COSTS. You are not saving any money whatsoever, just pay full price from a reputable company!
This is the worst company I've ever had to deal with customer service wise.
Asked to raise a complaint and was given an email address by a "Holly" to send a formal complaint email to. Sent the email and instead this went to a "Sam" in exactly the same "customer service" team and instead of actually acknowledging a complaint was being raised or considering the suggestions highlighted - something which is in fact already implemented by other companies - responded with a copy/pasted response telling me to "send us a letter in writing."
To top it off the guy didn't even bother to provide an address to write to!

Been a customer of Green Man Gaming since 2010.
They've been my go-to place for games for a long while now. One of the few internet game retailers with telephone support, which I remember being fantastic when I needed it a few years ago. One of the most competitive companies when it comes to price too, without any compromise on customer support.
Nothing but good words to say about Green Man Gaming. Highly recommended.
The worst customer services I have come across in a long time.
I have used this company before and purchased a few games with out issue but the first time something went wrong they just just don't care.
I made the mistake of buying a game I thought was a Steam game but it was not,
So I contacted there customer service department and there reply was basically there answer was Tough you should have read the small print?
It was only £6.50 but there attitude was terrible "NO REFUNDS"
To be helpful they did offer to close my account.
So they will happily lose a paying customer over £6.50.
That's so dumb
ticket number #96627 and I did try the capsule software but it would not connect and my Anti-virus seemed to have a problem with the capsule.
but my problem is the key is no good to me because this is an add on pack for a game I own on Steam.
also if you scroll down this page you will see a review from "Andre" and after reading his review its clear to me he made exactly the same mistake I did with exactly the same game!
I seriously think "GreenmanGaming" should have a long hard look at the layout of there site and the way the Capsule games are distinguished from the other games, it also should be made clear that the statement "Capsule: Requires Capsule client to download." should read "Capsule: Requires Capsule client to download and Play." DLC that requires Capsule will only work with the full game running on the Capsule client.
its not that hard ?
Finally got my money back through paypal GMG never bothered to contest the claim.
Don't let them get away with this sort of thing pay with paypal and chase down every penny.

I try to puy by Paypal AND my credit card many times
The system consistently refuse payment with the abstract stupid error: Oops we cannot compute!
I submitted the ticket but they replied that my country is not supported. Then I re-submit a ticket to ask whether anyway to buy, such as mark my account, use topup... but they silently close that ticket without reply.

They have a practice of inflating prices above the RRP (Guild Wars 2, which they stock at £40, not £35) so that when they offer a discount then it seems like the end consumer, without checking the RRP, gets a better deal than they are actually getting (so 25% off GW2 appeared to be a tenner off, when in fact it's only £5 off RRP).
They defended this practice by stating that they need to buy the keys from the supplier so of course they cannot offer the normal price. When I pointed out that they'd be getting them for bulk supplier prices and other stores (Amazon, GAME, etc) were all matching or beating the RRP, they didn't respond at all.
EDIT: I posted a reply to GMG's own reply in the comments, but it's not being shown in the comment numbers to me.
SECOND EDIT: While it is acceptable to not match the RRP (or SRP in GMG's terms) , it is illegal to advertise the SRP as higher than it actually is in order to make your own reduction of the price seem better. Another example of this is Angry Birds (their price of £6.99 reduced from £9.99 is still actually higher than the current RRP £4). This is an *illegal* practice, confirmed by the OFT.
They are crooks and con artists, avoid them.

A few months ago I purchased a FFXIV Collector's Edition from you guys. I got all the keys ON TIME and have been playing early access. Today got the rest of the keys and the site to activate and was able to activate my game ready for the official launch tonight.
You guys put a hell of a lot of work into making LIFE SMOOTH AND EASIER for us gamers and I just want to thank you for making things go SO SMOOTHLY. Square Enix can be a nightmare to sift through all their activation codes and search for sites to activate the game but you even provided the link to do that. I couldn't find it all day the other day.
I wish you could publish this somewhere. This is the best gaming purchasing experience I have ever had in my life and because you KNOW YOUR TRADE and HOW TO LOOK AFTER GAMERS.
Greenman Gaming is now top of my list for purchasing games. THANK YOU
Spent several hours trying to purchase a game but to no avail. I kept getting the same vague message telling me to double check my financial information, despite nothing being wrong with it. The browser often cut out in the middle of the payment. Not worth the trouble.
Update: After at least 20 attempts to pay via PayPal I got lucky and the payment got through. Still upset it took 3 hours of logging into PayPal and clicking confirm only to have the payment denied for an unspecified reason.
All i am going to do is agree with the other bad reviews on here, be careful when pre-ordering games from here. They put "pre-order" bonuses in the deals that prevent you from cancelling your order. Even though these are redeemable only on the capsule program, which they have the ability to purchase the codes off you. The customer service is the worst i have dealt with, they must sit there copy and pasting the "refund policy" until you eventually go away.
I have closed my account with them and recommend anybody else to do the same.
for the sake of the £18 they have made on this particular sale, they have lost £100's of pounds in future sales from me. Their loss, not mine.
With a single registration, a variety of mega-deals are available for instantaneous download, with nothing but entering the activation code on the appropriate platform to begin the download. Green Man Gaming is easily a competitor in virtual sales for their automated algorithm in which sales are managed efficiently as they are rapidly.
Green Man Gaming is a fantastic company, offering competitive pricing, and their system is flawless from my personal experience.
First time making an order from this company, as I stumbled across the offer they had on The Last of Us. I placed the order yesterday and it arrived this morning! Furthermore, I had a few questions which they answered promptly with clarity. Great service thus far, and long may it continue.
Tonight I purchased a copy of Raven Strike DLC for Ghost Recon Future Warrior. I have the main game on Steam. The game page says it needs the main game and capsule to download the dlc. It says nothing about only working with a copy bought from GMG. When I downloaded and tried to install it said my copy was not compatible. I tried the game key with steam and uplay, but neither work.
The best bit was when I contacted customer Services via their chat client. Their line was that they had sent a key and there was nothing they could do about it, as they have a strict no refund policy. There was no advice, no apology for the fact that the incompatibility was not made clear on their web site and no customer service whatsoever. I have been a customer for a while and have made a number of purchases from this company. This didn't matter one bit to the CS rep that I spoke to. Their lack of any CS means that I will never use this company again, and advise others to steer clear. Yes they have cheap games (although Capsule is C##p), but if there is an issue with your purchase they will not help you at all. Its funny that they can take game keys back for games they sell on their site for other purchases, but cant refund a key at any other time. Also strange that if game can only be activated on Capsule that they cant cancel the key themselves..........very poor. It is a definite case of buyer beware
This site is the cheapest place I have found to buy digital games online. They have a lot of weekly/weekend/daily/franchise/etc. sales where you can get some of the best games around for very little money. On top of this, they also often release discount codes to get a further 10% or 20% off most games, and 25% off pre-order titles. A lot of their games come as Steam codes, which I do prefer as it helps you keep track of your game library easier and there is the added convenience of being able to uninstall a game and reinstall it later without worrying about losing it. Some games, (most recent EA titles), require Origin.
A lot of games that aren't on Steam or Origin require GMG's Capsule client to download and verify the games. I have only used the Capsule client once, but I have no complaints about it. You can also trade in most games you download through the Capsule client - when you get bored of the game, GMG will give you some money back and remove the game from your library, which is a good feature. There are some games I've bought on Steam in the past that I either don't like or got bored with, but I'm stuck with them. GMG gives you the option to get a little money back for the things you don't want to play any more.
I have bought a stupid amount of games on GMG since I discovered them and I have saved immense amounts of money by doing so. As far as I can tell, this is the cheapest and best way to buy your digital games. A lot of their prices rival the deals on Steam.
I pre purchased a game with which it had an offer of another free game when you pre purchase it, and in order to play the game it listed as the 3rd party DRM being steam, so I assumed that both my purchased game and the game to come with it, considering they were the same series of game would both be for steam. I could not have been more wrong when I learnt that in order to play my "free" game in the pre purchase deal that I had to install their capsule software, which is a hassle for me and I simply want to organize my games in one place, it was not clearly stated anywhere on the original game page that capsule would be required to play the other game.
I got in touch with their customer service who simply said they cannot do anything about it because the key is already sent. The original game I pre purchased I have not even been sent the key for yet and the other game is on capsule, their so called platform to trade stuff in with, so how they cannot take and deactivate the game off their and give me a steam key at the very least is beyond me. I regret having given my money to this retailer and definitely will not be returning, an absolute waste of money and time, shop somewhere else.
I tried to purchase Defiance from this company (discounted and with a coupon, $33 total, nearly 50% off!). I made an account while in the checkout process. I got all the way to payment before it refused both my card and my boyfriend's card. It also refused both of our Paypals. The checkout process has a time limit (15m) which I monkeyed with until it ran out. I dug a little deeper and discovered they have a system where your account needs to be verified by E-Mail before you make a purchase. No big deal.
I do the verification and try to purchase. It tells me I cannot put the game in my basket because my account isn't verified. So, I go back to my E-Mail and try the link again, thinking I may have messed up on my end. I click the link and it tells me "This account is active!" Awesome! So I go to purchase. Once again, it says the account is inactive and I cannot put the game in my basket. So, I'm able to get to the payment part of the site before my account is "activated" and then when I do the official activation it tells me I'm not activated and I can't even put the game in my basket.
After trying to get this game purchased for 30 minutes (remember, nearly $30 in savings) I said screw it and went to Amazon and paid $20 more for it there (a $10 off sale.) I'd rather give my money to a company who has their act together. Don't even bother with these guys. I was so excited to tell my friends about an awesome deal on a fun game, but now Amazon will get their business too.

I previously purchased Bordlerands 2 from GMG without any problems. However, my most recent purchase of the BIoshock Infinite preorder bundle and the Bioshock NA Season pass has been, to date, the worst customer service experience I can remember in recent memory.
The products were promised to arrive by the 26th of March, which was the release date. Today is the 28th of March and I have not received any of my product keys with the exception of the NA Season Pass. The key with the NA Season Pass is useless unless I have the key for the original game.
I've now opened two customer support tickets that have gone unanswered. Best part: when you complain on their forums, if you use a "bannable" word, they will ban you without any notice. No e-mail sent to your account e-mail, no statement, nothing. Logging into your username will only result in a 500 Server Error. I particularly love how they also posted on their forums informing all customers that the issues had been "resolved." Meanwhile, users who still don't have their purchased game are having to open new topics just to be seen.
Green Man Gaming is a joke to work with. If you want deals on video games, don't just go somewhere else, run there. Steam, Amazon, and GOG are a few of the retailers among many who DO offer great customer support. GMG is just the British version of Origin.
I can only recommend greenmangaming!
I just bought my SimCity key.
I read here on trustpilot that gmg not was the best place to buy keys, but thats wrong!
When i had finishing entering the card details. I press "confirm phurcase" and in the same second, the cd-key popped up at the scree and i could reedem it in Origin!
Thanks for the great site!
5 stars, I can only recommend GMG! :)
I don't really have a bad word to say about GMG, I've been using them since October 2012 and bought 4 games from them so far, all the keys have been delivered quickly and worked first time.
You do need GMGs software called "Capsule" to download some titles but this is a quick install and has excellent download speeds so no problems there either.
[Edit] I've decided to lower my rating as two games I purchased recently (GTA V & Beyond: Two Souls) have not been refunded even though their support is insisting the refund has been given. If this problem is resolved, I will up the rating to 5* again.
Leg it away from them. The store itself and CS are beyond awful.
I thought I've seen bad CS but GMG.. they are something.
Purchased 2 days ago Skyrim, still no key. Looks like they are out of stock, yet the product wasn't tagged as such. So they grab yer money and make you wait. You can ask for refund but unlikely to get any answer from CS, by the time they answer you are probably going to have yer key so it's pointless. No refund once the key is deliveried. I have submitted two tickets - nothing. NOTHING. It says a reply takes 2-4 days _working_ . Am I sorry - what ?! Are we the early 2000's ? You are online retailer. Online. Online! There's a reason why you are online - it's more reliable. Though not with GMG's case. Yeah, and CS is off on the weekend. Bloody brilliant. You cant be in this business and have days off. Else - sod off. That's not for you. And don't think that if you get a response from CS there will be any help.
"You will receive your key shortly" they say, then that someone waits for another couple of days. "Shortly", right...
Still waiting for my key and my a response to my own tickets. Probably going to get it some time in 2013. F### pissed off.
Anyway, my opinion is firm.
You think you are downloading easy to play games on your PC but may discover (only after you've paid) that you also have to have their software installed on your machine (called Capsule) and only then can you play the game. From what Ive read on other reviews, Capsule doesnt always work and requires online access.
Silly and a waste; thanks for holding my game hostage.
There are MUCH better websites like Gog, Gamersgate and even Amazon where once you buy the game, its yours to play with no restrictions or shells. Why does this site even exist?..and how are they staying in business?
I love the constant deals the site offers. Always a reason to visit the site and empty my wallet. On 4 occasions now and about 7 invidual purchases(all codes so not postal experience) I have got the codes instantly and all work perfectly.
Id recommend greenmangaming to anyone and often do.
I tried to purchase three preorder copies of Company of Heroes 2. Not only did all 3 of my payment methods fail due to "errors", but it took CS to finally allow me to get the first copy.
When I wanted to buy two more copies, I was told no and was sent a threatening email saying that if I tried to purchase a copy for my friend and spend $120 more at their store, I would get permanently banned from the website.
Last time I checked, threatening people and treating them with a nasty Customer Service response when all they want to do is spend $180 at your store and buy a lot from you, is NOT good business practice for a store already plagued with billing problems. I still haven't gotten my key, either, although I assume that is normal for this preorder, although I am skeptical as STEAM users might have received theirs already.
I have rarely been threatened for wanting to spend $180 in one transaction at a store of any kind.
For a game company that is going to be keeping your games, this is very bad for the customer. This company will not be around for very long- which means your games won't be around for very long either. Just like Direct2Drive, this will disappear along with all your cd keys, downloads, and activations. And with this attitude? I severely doubt they will care.
Bad gaming store. My pre-odered copy of a game was delivered really late after release date. When I submitted a ticket, an automated message said that it will be answered within 2-4 days (which is a joke). They have a really bad refund policy. I would not buy from them again. Buy from a bigger store instead where they actually have a trading history.
I purchased the digital version of Battlefield 3 Limited Edition (£29) and I activated the key at Origin without no problems at all. There was a downside still, the download speed could be faster. Perhaps Greenmangaming.co.uk should invest in dedicated servers for the quickness.
Oh yeah, I got it with 24% deduction ;)
They recruit people to spam other sites with messages like this one:
"Guys. don't be stupids... tomorrow at 17:00 Spanish HOUR... you can activate BF3, but this page can not afford to send those KEYS to you IN TIME...
HERE It TAKES 5 MIN I SWEAR DOWN..."
That is the most unproffesional thing a company can do. 0 stars.
