My wife and I have used groupon three times so far to mixed reviews. To start the selection of useful groupons is very limited in my opinion. You sift through deals that are either not very good value or from places that cater to a small audience. One of the deals we bought was for a shooting range that limited us to a specific day we could redeem. When we arrived and informed the range of our groupon they explained the additional costs we would incur for purchasing necessary items to complete the shoot that were not included in the groupon. The other 2 times we have used the experience was o.k. but the places make you feel less important because they are getting paid less.
Don't buy goods from them. They take forever to ship. This is not the first time this has happened. When you contact them, they give you the same generic response. This last order is going to take almost 4 weeks to get to me. It's not enough they claim 2 and half weeks.(Which I think is not right) We're a small company of 40 and can manage shipping 1300 orders a day.
I used groupon a couple of times. It is nice that it is cheap. but the company's only make 1/4 of what the normally earn. so they tread you as a cheap customer. the lose money on you and the blame you for it a little bit. When you buy something you cannot go there whenever you want. you get special days and times that they deal with all the groupon people. this way you dont get the treatment you would normally get at a restaurant or a golfclub. this is where i went, never again though
Went here for IPL and got excellent results!! My sun spots have disappeared and my skin looks great. Decided to do Botox for the first time. The numbing cream was a huge help I believe because I didn't feel anything. My forehead lines have disappeared! I really like the staff and for being a doctors office, I feel so relaxed with the wonderful candles and soothing atmosphere. I will be back!
These Groupons that give all these discounts are never what they say. The business owners always have a scam. Example $216 food for $89 when you go they give you the menu. When they see you have a Groupon they tell you they have another menu for that. You are better off going out and buying what you want. You wind up eating in some place that is about to go out out business but thinks they are doing you a royal favor. I had it with Groupons. Want good steak don't buy a Groupon just go eat at a good restaurant. You feel like a third class person using Groupon and you wind up paying for business class. Stop getting ripped off.
Purchased a recliner chair on Dec. 9th 2013,payment by Paypal, upon delivery on Dec12th, item was found to be damaged. Reported to Groupon online where I was told to parcel the item and take it to the Post Office! the chair and footstool weighed an estimated 20 kilos in a box almost one metre square, so not really a viable solution. Subsequently had to telephone customer service, a 20 minute wait for response, and, after further phone calls, one approaching 30 minutes, collection arranged for Dec.20th. Told at this stage that refund would take up to 30days, WHY? At 30 days, despite several emails there was no sign of refund, so, I threatened court action in 7 days. Refund was paid on Jan 22nd, email informing me of this was promptly followed by another email stating that Groupon had not received the item yet and had I decided to keep it! In total from first reporting this problem, I have received 24 emails from Groupon, most of them absolutely useless. Needless to say that both my wife and I have now unsubscribed from all Groupon offers. John Marrison.
I got an e-mail from Groupon one day with a deal that I wanted to take advantage of. I was having trouble with my account, so I contacted customer service through e-mail. Customer service was completely unhelpful in their reply. When I tried to go back to the website to figure it out myself I got an error. I checked another website to see if Groupon.com was down. It wasn't. I tried navigating to the site on 3 browsers on my computer, then a tablet device on wifi, then a phone on wifi. Then I decided to try accessing the site with my phone on 4G. It worked. At that point it was completely obvious that they had blocked my IP, with the only possible cause being sending an e-mail to customer service. After double checking this was the case, I called them out on it. I sent another e-mail, and the reply I got was basically "oh, i'm going to ignore the fact that we banned your IP address and you're calling us out on it, but here's the solution to the original problem you e-mailed us about. Everything should work now" By the time they responded of course the deal that I wanted to take advantage of was over. Useless.
I love Groupon simply the best if you want to get a great price from a quality local business. I don't like how they treat people who apply for job at their company, and at first after I was treated ' less then" i promised myself I will not use Groupon any more. Then i figured, the company overall offers great deals, yes I don't need Groupon, I can survive without those deals, but I like them, I like the quality of the local business they chose, as for who works there and their attitude about a very smart woman applying for a job at the company that is paying them money, too bad for Groupon, they missed out on a solid, loyal employee who likes what they do. So I can't punish Groupon because some person has no class. Life goes on.

I ordered: AVEDA Colour: Half-Head (£34) or Full-Head (£49) Highlights, Cut and Finish at Rapunzel (Up to 69% Off) in High Barnett.
I called to book an appointment and when I got there they got me to sit on a chair which had someone else's hair all over it. I asked for a cloth to wipe the chair down before I sat down. The hairdresser kindly sorted it out after I asked.
The first thing that she said to me was they are having a special offer of a shine they can put in your hair that will last for a few months and is normally £45.00, but will be £18.00 for today only. I kindly declined this offer.
The hairdresser then asked how much I'd like to have cut and I said about 4 or 5 inches. Her reply was that'll cost you extra because they class that much cut as a re-style. I asked how much I was allowed with the groupon voucher and she said she doesn't know by inches - just if it's a lot!! I explained to her that not everybody's a lot is the same. I didn't think I was having a lot cut - but she did. Would be interested to find out if everyone that booked with this hairdresser was told that their cut would be extra.
She then said because your hair is quite thick - I couldn't help but laugh and interrupted to ask how much extra would that would cost? She said that it wouldn't cost extra just that she would also do layers for me. As I was there, the other hairdresser was going round to the other customers telling them they had a special offer on shampoo's and conditioners!!
I paid the extra to have the 5 inches cut, but she was very reluctant to cut as much as I wanted!!
It turned out ok after all the sales pitches, but I wouldn't return to this salon. It felt like I was in a different country with the strong sales. Really wasn't a very nice experience.
I have used Groupon quite a few times and this is the first time I have felt this disappointed enough to write and let other people know.
I find it hard to believe these awful comments about Groupon. Folks you are getting an extreme discount on products so you are going to go through some rough roads. The vendor you go to is giving a reduced rate so you will not be there priority. This is a discounted service that requires due diligence and flexibility by the purchaser. If you want A+ service you need to pay full price to get it. If you want the discounted price you must be able to be flexible. I have used this service many times, and with patience with the seller I eventually got the times and days I needed. Remember if you want a premium product and service pay the full price and you will. If you wish to get an extreme discount be prepared to put some effort in on your part!
After politely and respectfully emailing 6 consecutive times to Groupon about my dissatisfaction with a merchant, they only quoted the policy back to me over and over and told me to regift my coupon. A masseuse is someone that needs to gain trsut and respect with quickness in order for me to be willing to unclothe for them. When my appointment was canceled 15 minutes before it was scheduled, not to mention after being so booked up it took two months to even get an appointment, the trust factor diminished. Then I never received a call back to reschedule my appointment. In the lower right corner of the homepage is the Groupon Promise: “If the experience using your Groupon ever lets you down, we’ll make it right or return your purchase. Simple as that.” I have been lulled into a sense of security with a patently false guarantee. I felt safe ordering from an otherwise unknown merchant because, as Groupon assures, “We're so confident in our featured businesses that we back them with the Groupon Promise.” They lost a customer.
