After message from Asda this morning stating item despatched with tracking link to Hermes. After reading reviews, nearly all 1star my heart sank. However, speak as I find, 2 and a half hours later I opened the door to pleasant driver with my order. Only ordered on monday with ETA of 30th Jan to Feb 3rd. My sympathies go out to you who have had dreadful problems but I can't find fault.
I placed an order for a shirt at Urban Outfitters - which as some people might be aware, isn't the cheapest of retail stores. It was dispatched on the 20th January, but at the end of the week when it still hadn't been delivered, I wondered if something was up so checked their 'Tracking', to which I got 'Not delivered - Address Query'.
I emailed Urban Outfitters to find out the problem. Turns out they, for whatever reason, couldn't deliver to my address and the parcel was returned to sender. I was given no explanation for why this was, and was only offered a refund.
What does 'Address Query' mean? Anyone care to enlighten me about this? I double-checked the address and postcode on my order details. There was no way I could've missed the delivery either. So what on earth does this mean? Was it a genuine mistake or could the courier simply not be bothered to deliver to my area? (I live in a rural part of Wales which is considerably 'out of the way', but that's no excuse!)
I was horrified to see a substantial amount of complaints about Hermes online, stories about lost parcels, rude delivery people, damaged goods and misleading tracking information. I was additionally appalled at how Urban Outfitters didn't seem bothered at sorting the issue and is just brushing me off with a refund if they can't re-ship the item. I shall not be using them again.
Order two items on 16 Jan one in depot and ready for driver to sign for delivery at 4.36 am 21 Jan other 7mins later the later one my daughter in law signed for @ 10.36am the other which was ready first is suppose to be still sat waiting for driver to sigh for I'm absolutely discussed and fumming with the company no wonder you can't get to speak to anyone or get a number .
Time and time again no delivery postcode error when they will not speak to you. Then when the suppliers speak to them item gets delivered in appalling state. Just when you think yodel are the worst ever, your rude disgusting people and the day you go into administration will be the day I have a big smile on my face. Which will be in 2014 thats 4 sure. % of your drivers are theives call centre staff are appalling, well nothing to say about management as not being able to discuss the problem says it all. You dont deserve to be trading😠
A parcel was due to be delivered DAYS ago... The 'tracking information' has not been updated for four days. It is 'in transit' - not even out for delivery. And they have not answered my emails to try and find out whether this parcel has been lost (more likely stolen) in transit. So how can customers feel secure when it takes even vendors DAYS to get a response from them, when something is already late.
I am so fed up sitting waiting for my order that i have already paid for to be delivered! every day since the 13th january i receive sms messages telling me parcel is out for delivery over a week on still no parcel to be had, i have emailed the company i purchased my order from to see if they can help, the courier is not doing the job he is paid to do as when i go on line to tracking it telling me courier will attempt to redeliver how can that be true when i have been at home? and if i had not been at home when he was supposed to have tried to deliver why is there no card been posted through my letter box to prove he has been at my door? i will never purchase any tning else from a company who use hermes europe delivery as i am to busy to be waiting in day after day waiting on a company who employ unreliably couriers. teresa united kingdom.
Why the hell do suppliers continue to use this utterly unprofessional courier? I have had the misfortune to be the recipient of a number of parcels delivered at the hands of Hermes, and not one seemed as if it had been looked after to an even basic level. Some exterior cardboard boxes were soaking wet, some appeared as if they had been used for rugby practice, some had been delivered to the completely wrong address, and some had been left in exposed areas outside the house with no advice card posted through to let you know the parcel had been soaking up the rain for the past few hours (if it hadn't already been stolen). For me, the Hermes couriers who deliver these items usually turn up in a car during the evening. Under cover of darkness, the poor recipient cannot always see how mashed up their parcel is until you get it indoors, and by then the courier has long since scarpered. Contacting Hermes is a protracted business too, as the supplier will usually point you in their direction as first port of call when making a complaint of this nature. I can only presume that suppliers and manufacturers continue to use Hermes just because they are cheaper than their rivals. It can't be for their due care and attention when storing, handling or delivering goods, because quite frankly, Hermes haven't got a f***ing clue. Hopefully in time, companies will stop using Hermes - even if it costs a little more to them or their customers to send parcels via a courier that will actually deliver your goods, and in one piece. In the meantime, if you see that your order is being handled by Hermes, then all I can say is, best of luck.
Just got home from work to find my Boohoo order dumped (looked as if it had been thrown) behind our dustbin, in a huge puddle. Absolutely soaking wet and not only has it leaked right through to the clothes (through two sealed bags) but also completely destroyed my returns form. Very glad that I don't need to return anything because I'd only have a piece of soggy, unreadable paper as receipt of my purchase! After several other problems with Hermes, mostly them leaving forms without ringing the bell or ringing the bell and then immediately walking off so I have no time to answer the door, I can safely say I won't be recommending them to anyone. Looking at the other reviews on here they really need to sort themselves out! And just a side note- can't even find an email address on their website, which seems to send you round and round in circles trying to find a way to contact them.
Such a dreadful company. I've had parcels go missing; deliveries at 9pm at night; endless 'attempted deliveries' when I've been in and of course no card left. The company is a joke. Customer service is useless. As a customer you cannot call them and so rely on email. You report problem, they merely reply with whatever nonsense is on the tracking info- you reply- some other person replies with same tosh. You can never get a dialogue going due to this system. They hire self employed 'drivers' to deliver who often do late in the evenings to fit around their regular jobs. After 5 'attempted deliveries' of which I was in on every occasion except the late night attempts, my 3 day delivery spread over to 18 days before at 8:30pm I got a call from a man who could barely speak English and couldn't find my address (on the High St). I went down and met him. He was dressed in a wife beater vest in a battered car that looked like it failed its MOT. His wife and kids were all in the car looking miserable. He insisted I sign for the parcel under a name I did not recognise on the handset. Of course my complaint to Hermes was never responded to. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER USE THEM. NEVER.
I have used many delivery services, all of which has adhered to their policy and is coherent with deliveries. The wonderful staff at Hermes, on two occasions have delivers the parcel late; one three days late and the other two days late. At some point Hermes made me wonder whether I was in an induced coma, dreaming; as a result of them arriving at my doorstep and finding that I 'wasn't home'. I am sure after the long journey, they found it difficult to ring the bell twice.
16 items ordered from various Major shops from November to December. Some came next day, some came a day or so later. None were late, all in fine order with no sign of being dropped or mishandled. This site is a favourite place to slag of Hermes, but they are fine.
Seems their couriers are so talented that they can
1. put a large parcel through a non existent letterbox 2. Manage to fail to notice a door bell (well no one rang it, so it must be temporary blindness or deafness or something) 3. Think no one is in (when a house has 3 adults & two kids inside) 4. Not leave a card of any sort
OK, the realiity is that they claimed to leave a big parcel in a letterbox because no one was in - when the house they should have been delivering to did have people in, all day, just waiting for the delivery.
Hermes is - to be blunt - an utter waste of space. It seems to have self employed couriers who are unaccountable (I do wonder how many of their couriers had great presents for their friends & fanilies that had somehow been left "in a letterbox" - could it be that "left in a letterbox" is a euphamism for "I fancied it & kept it for myself".)
To play fair, they do respond very quickly to public tweets - except that invariably the result is a private DM saying "Sorry, I can't really help you, that's Hermes not myHermes" - I'm a customer who is waiting for a parcel, I don't give a flying fig which part of the Hermes empire failed me, all I know is they lost my carefully chosen, and very expensive, irreplacable items, because they are utterly cr*p
Ordered some trainers (£105 may I add) from Urban Outfitters on 13/12/13. Now before you get the wrong idea, I'm not holding Urban Outfitters responisble for this as they have done everything perfectly their end. The parcel was dispatched by them on 16/12/13, into the unreliable hands of Hermes. I have been tracking my order all week, no movement on the parcel since 17/12/13, this is as far as my parcel has got: 17/12/2013 08:16 Order Generated 16/12/2013 14:29 Hub Trailer Via Sorter 16/12/2013 14:28 Missing Pre-Advice This is a Christmas present for my boyfriend, now seeing as its 23/12/13 what are the chances the present will arrive on time? My guess is I have more chance of walking on the moon! I am appalled and to say p***ed off is an understatement! 3-5 working days delivery however somehow my parcel hasn't moved in 6days! What annoys me even more is they don't take responsibilty for anything, they refer you back to the retailer!! This isn't even the first time I've had issues with this useless company. I ordered something from MandM and when it arrived, via Hermes, the packaging looked like it had been dropped in a muddy puddle and stepped on (the muddy footprint was a big giveaway!) I have also ordered clothes online which again have gone through Hermes and I too had 'sorry we missed you' dropped through the letterbox although I had been all day. All in all I would not even rate them if I did not have to, they should be reported and closed down! In future I will check which delivery company online retailers use
Ordered a Christmas present from a company through amazon. The item was dispatched by the company and sent via Hermes.
On 11th december the tracking status was "out for delivery".... ten days later, nothing has been received and nothing has changed with regards to tracking information.
I phoned hermes only to find out they will not discuss the delivery of parcels.. whats the point of having customer service then?!.. in the end the company i bought the item from contacted them and they said it had been "lost" aka stolen.... if you're doing your job right then things dont get lost. Bunch of thieves.
How this company is still in business I do not know... will make every effort in the future to avoid buying from companies that use Hermes as their courier. Load of criminals.
I have had nothing but problems with Hermes!! 1st. – I ordered two jumpers off Boohoo they took a month to be delivered after they took the order back twice for no reason. 2nd. – Ordered a personalised Micky Mouse dressing gown on the 27th November from Disney for Oakley. I was informed that on the 7th December my parcel had been ‘delivered to a secure location’ after countless phone calls in which I was put on hold and then cut off, and numerous emails that have been ignored I found this today. It is pissed wet through and I’m a bit lost as to where I can go now. I am absolutely disgusted. If you’re ordering offline, try and see if the courier they use is Hermes because if it is, don’t bother.
The fact that Hermes have NO way to contact them directly isn’t surprising to me at all, the way they treat their customers is downright disgusting. This will not be the end.
I ordered some shoes from Rubbersole, who were good and despatched quickly. But, they use Hermes, presumably because they're cheap. Well, it shows. Hermes are rubbish. Next day delivery turns into three or four days, if you're lucky. To be fair, Rubbersole tried to track down my delivery but they were just as unsuccessful as me. Eventually it arrived, nothing to do with either of us chasing, Hermes just delivered when they felt like it. Sometimes you don't know who a company is using to deliver their goods but sometimes you do; and, if they're using Hermes, I'd steer well clear.
Oh dear, i ve wait for 10 days already, its saying broken my heart. hermes parcel had reported on the tracking record "address provided could not been found" !!! hey, address could not been found? they got postal code...can reach anywhere using the GPS right !!? first of the error, i thought i am sending wrong address to them. oh my god. where is my parcel????.....phone - no answer, email - no reply

How can this company still be running? Took best part of two weeks to deliver a package to me. Item shows up in box that looked like it had done 10 rounds with MIke Tyson, delivered by some guy in a family car who did not give a damn item was broke in box which came as no major surprise. These guys are cheap for a reason they are rubbish...
