As long as you can read between the lines, you'll be fine.
I am very pleased to be close to getting my first CIM qualification but I do feel that the support from my tutor could have been more than it was. From materials that really need updating to feedback from her that she never clarified or even contradicted herself on ("you're not using Harvard Referencing" was one assignment feedback, even though I was using exactly the same format as I had for my A graded assignment before...and the A graded one after that, and after that). As a graduate, I found the "how to write an assignment" webinars quite patronising and unhelpful, and there was no proper guidance on how to create the 'perfect' professional cover. For the exam piece, I was not provided with "a sample A grade assignment" and when I asked what she meant by "make your cover more professional", the only explanation was "the image looks blocked in", which is not very helpful to a non-designer. However, she did always mark my work very quickly, which enabled me to complete the course in the expected 2 years and usually answered my questions in a timely manner, if not always very clear.
