Ive done 2 courses on home learning and both times I had no problems.
The forum is an excellent place to read up and find out knowledge and help and the tutors are always on hand to help you out if you get stuck.
My assignments were always marked quickly and came back with helpful comments and advice!
I'm hoping to study again with them
soon.
I really enjoyed studying with the home learning college. I found the enrolment easy and enjoyed exploring the virtual learning community. I found the forums really helpful as I was able to speak to other students and ask for help as well as share tips. My tutor was really helpful - always replied to my emails in a few days with answers that resolved my questions. I found the VLC the most useful tool in my studies. Everything was there and it was easy to find.
The only issue I had was that some information was not explained thoroughly and I missed it. This could have been my fault for not looking for it, but I didn't know it was there in the first place. However, it sorted itself out and I had no other problems.

I studied a CIW Internet Web Design Foundations, through the Home Learning College, passing my final exam earlier this year.
I found the HLC to be an excellent provider for courses studied from home, at your own pace. Support from Tutors is excellent, staff are always able to respond to any queries quickly and the quality of materials used for studying is very good too.
There is the opportunity to converse with other students by posting in the forums on the student portal, and in my course the learning was enhanced most of all by the webinars that were provided by my tutor on a weekly basis.
Tutor support is available for 2 years and they also help you prepare for the final exam in the best possible way. Recommend committing to 10 hours study as a minimum (more if possible).
Flexible, affordable payment plans with a low interest are available.
The only thing I would have liked to have had was assistance/support in finding employment at the end of my course. Apart from that, I would happily use the Home Learning College again for any future study.
If you're looking for a new challenge or to update your skills or change careers, I highly recommend HLC.
The corse was fun and the tutors were helpful and I had no trouble getting the qualification I wanted
I was apprehensive at first when all the books arrived, but they are set out really clearly, and your tutor is always available if you have any queries. Loads of helpful information on the website and great to be able to chat with other students who were experiencing the same highs and lows as me.
Home learning college is fantastic. I find it so hard to study and take in what I need to if I'm not be in a "classroom environment". The tutor support is good I got loss of tips and websites to help me. The workshops are essential I find it easier once I have done The tasks on a lot PC. I would regiment home learning college to anyone I thought I would not be able to study from home but the amount of help, support And endless information it was a doddle. I managed financially too I got to loan the money and pay back every month that was a massive help with out that I would not have done this coarse. I thank home learning college for oppertunity to get my qualifacation I know I've yet to do the exam but I feel I'm ready, and I know I'll do well.
Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, user friendly online system meant I could study at my own pace and choose my own time. Tutors only an email or phone call away and a fab online community with assistance at all levels. Thanks Home LEarning College for a wonderful experience as well as the qualifications!
You have the potential to improve yourself and your life! The Home Learning College has the tools to help you!
Easy to get started and plenty of help along the way!

The reading material was set out in manageable chunks allowing you to work logically through the software. The coursework helps prepare you for the exam by allowing you to create an end product with the software. Tutor support was good and there if you need it. you get 2 years to complete the course which is plenty of time to work through it all.

I decided to enrol with the home learning college as i work shifts thus making it difficult to attend night classes at college. When you become a member of the college you are incredibly supported by your tutors and having access to the online community and educational tools which aids the learning environment. Certainly for me home learning has suited my needs and I am very close to attaining my Comptia A+ and realising my ultimate dream of working within an 'IT' environment. I would highly recommend the home learning college for anyone who works unsociable hours or who has heavy work or family commitments but who ultimately wishes to change their career path.
I have a busy life, HLC had the flexiblity which ment I could do my assignment the time it suits me. When ever I found my assignment difficult It was easy to get in touch with the tutor and they were very helpful. The course was very expensive that was the only downside towards it ,other wise I loved studying with HLC.
I looked about to see what course a wanted, then looked at what each company offered within the price range I was looking at, I then looked at what materials they offered as some gave you nothing and some offered the world but then the support and all the hidden extras kicked in and would have cost nearly double, I then realised that hlc had an extensive web site and forum based chat rooms where you can ask all sorts of people And acces your course from anywhere without having to carry your books everywhere. I am over the moon with all aspects of the course and would never look back.
I personally think that the courses that Home Learning College provide is second to none and the backup and resources for these courses is fantastic value for money.
You learn at your own pace and can ask questions and attend feedback sessions with Tutors on these forums too.
Only thing I think they need to expand is the range of Microsoft and CompTIA courses available.
Other than that, brilliant !

Background: I have completed two qualifications in Web design with the Home Learning College.
I would recommend Home Learning College qualifications if you can afford the time and the cost but also you must be willing to put in the effort. HLC is for self-motivated people.
I am currently working as a Web designer, and I have found that the HLC qualifications give you a solid grounding in Web languages. The courses I have undertaken have quite honestly made me more proficient in coding, and I can also practice better Web standards – something that is desirable on the job. I do not think I would ever get the same level of understanding by simply reading a book.
The downside to HLC I would say is that the qualifications I have earned are on occasion, not officially recognised. For example when I put down my HLC qualifications on official forms, I have had to prove their value and get tutors/HLC to attest the qualifications. If HLC could in the future do more to get the qualifications recognised overseas it would be better.
But on the whole I would say it was an investment that was worthwhile.
I studied accountancy with Home Learning College. While I was studying I found a permanent job. The company I applied to were impressed with my capabilities but also liked the fact that I was studying a subject that would potentially be useful for my development. The course was accredited by AAT and the tutors at Home Learning College were extremely supportive. I achieved excellent results through my dedication but with their help and availability studying was very enjoyable as I could study at my own pace. Ihighly recommend Home Learning College to people that need flexibility for their studies.

Just a few words to say how I have found taking on my AAT course with HLC. I was a bit apprehensive at first about taking on the course and a distance learning one at that - I wasn't sure if I would be able to understand it all and work through it without being in a classroom atmosphere.
But so far, it has been stress-free, very interesting and I wish I had started it sooner! Other than the actual material being interesting, I would also like to emphasise that this has been helped by the fact that I have an excellent tutor who always gets back to me with any query, however small, and great support and patience in other tutors when I have sat through the live classes, etc. Everyone has been patient, polite and friendly which helps so much when you are studying remotely.
Many thanks HLC! :-)
.....you need the Home Learning College.
The Home Learning College was ideal for me, it fitted in with my work and family commitments, allowed me to learn at your own pace, and in my own learning style. Sitting in a classroom is not my idea of fun so being able to work through the course work in my own home was absolutely brilliant. I enjoyed it so much I signed up for another course straight away.

I had completed the Bookkeeping Manual Level I and Computerised Bookkeeping Level II courses through HLC. The learning material was received promptly and easy to follow.
If I needed help, I only needed to pick up the phone. The tutors are really good at pointing you in the right direction, helping you to find the answer rather than just telling you what it is and you still don't understand.
I would recommend HLC if you want a course to fit in with family commitments as its upto you when you want to learn. I was studying at home with 2 small children, and worked in the morning whilst my youngest was at playgroup.

This course has helped me very much with my continuous progress within Graphic Design! I am hoping to do an e-commerce course to take me even further and reach my goals.
Overall the course is a really good idea and I would recommend it to anyone.
I was very pleased with the quality of the course material and found the tutors and online resources really helpful. I gained more practical experience when I completed the Bookkeeping and Payroll courses. I recommended my friends and family to use Home learning college as you can study whenever you want.

as a student of hlc for a number of years you can learn as quick or as slow as you want as it is talilored to you i am probably like most people having to work and study in my spare time . the most important thing for me is ones personals goals you have to be dedicated but it is equally important to have a professional tutorial service someone who won,t make you feel awkward / stupid / or make you lose your self confidence believe me there are people out there who are not cut out to be tutors they may know all there is to know about there job but what i find is that by studying i belong to a community and speaking up for the tutors who support the bookkeeping students i find them very suportive especially beverley and kirsten it must be difficult for them supporting different people with different learning abilities but personally i found that they can pick you up when you are down when things are hard to take in and you are at your witts end they will give you that shot in the arm or confidence and i am talking from personal experience make no mistake they will not walk you through the course you have to have the desire to learn but the tutors are like your big brother or sister who will try there hardest to help you i admit i am not very good at maths but the tutors have helped me climb mountains and in this they give me self confidence to carry on my desire to learn
A BOGOF course should mean BOGOF, not get the first course will full text books and a qulifacation no ones heard of, and the second course nothing not even a text book and a rude excuse from student support, of you don't need the text books download it from the internet, you cant even print it off.
If I want to learn somthing I like to read it out of a book not scroll down a computer screen, and then it takes you twice as long to find where you've left off and to get back to reference thing for assignments.
To sum it up VERY expensive for the qulifaction you get.

Personally I felt a bit left in the dark, you received all the books but not much help from elsewhere. I didn't know when to post assignments, when to sit exams, how to upload documents and sometimes where to send them. My suggestion would be more help and clearer guidance notes.
Saying that, I passed my exams so the course does works and it was more convenient to do it in your own time and from home.

The course material was easy to understand, with quick responses from the tutors when needed. After completing Levels 1 and 2, I am now commencing Level 3 Bookkeeping.
I originally enrolled for the course in 2009 after I had my daughter but due to work committments and being a new mum was unable to start the course.
I got made redundant in July 2011 and decided that I wanted to change my career and would love to work with children. I completed a six weeks course on line and fortunatly I got a job as a play organiser in a school.
I decided that I would like to progress further in this field of work but on the educational side. A friend of mine said I should enrole on a NVQ course for child learning and Development, then I remembered I still had the course from 2009.
I started the course in March 2012 and felt aprehensive and nervous as I had not studied for a long while. I completed my first assignment and felt very dissappointed and disheartened as I was told to do it again as I needed to add more information in my answers. I explained to my tutor that I hadnt studied for a while and she gave me great encouragement and and advice. I believe with determination and support from my tutor after completing each assignment gave my the inspiration to go on and complete my last assignment in July 2012.
I am so proud of myself, I am now working in a school along side a senco as a one to one support for a child who has autism, I find the role challenging, frustating, stressfull but at the same time rewarding.
I would recommend this course to anyone looking to change their career and wishing to complete a course in their own time.
i came from india, thought will do some job here but with a kid it was hard to go out and do my study for my job, then one of my friend suggested home learning college, i joined online course from home, it is really easy to sit at home and do the course at ur own pace. Tutors are really supportive. Today i have finished my course and doing good job. i would recommend this site to everyone who want to make their life easy.

I think the tha home learning college is a good way to learn, it allows me the fredom to study arround my sometimes hectic shedule. If I'm inactive for too long I get chased which is normally a good motivator. the only thing I would have liked is a call when starting out to make sure I understood everything, all the material is online so it was avaliable but I just think an introductory call would be nice.

I am enjoying my course with the home learning college. I have found the course literature to be well set out and easy to follow. My tutor has been helpful but as I tend to do my work on a Sunday evening there is never anyone available for immediate assistance and I have to just send a message if I have a problem and wait for a response in the next couple of days.
When I was revising for my exam I found that some of the questions on the practice papers did not appear to have been covered in my course but I was able to pick up whatever else I needed from these practice papers. I would certainly recommend working through both of these before taking your exam.

I really enjoyed my time studying with HLC and would recommend them to anyone. The course books were well set out and easy to follow. My tutor was always there to answer any questions I had by e-mail and my assignments were always marked very quickly.
I would definitely recommend Home Learning College to anyone. I had some doubts before I started to study with Home Learning College. I thought after my last payment, they would not be interested whether I have any trouble to understand the material or not. I can tell, I was most positively surprised when they contacted me and asked how I am getting on and that they had not seen me online for a while. All of this many months after my last payment. Beside that, the tutors are friendly and I always get fast response to my questions from them. All in all I can just say, give it a go, you won`t be sorry!
I had an amazing experience studying at HLC,my tutor was extraordinary helpful.I got every support from HLC tutors until I finished my course.Thank you so much.
I wanted to finish my AAT course that i had studied earlier, but with working full time and family commitments, i needed a flexible working scheme plus some initial guidance on how to complete my 'missing' elements from previous studies. I am pleased to say that the Home Learning College did everything possible to help and i am now in the position where i will be able to complete my course without the worry of 'loose ends' to finish afterwards.
Thank you Home Learning College!
I found that Home Learning College were a great college to choose from. They offer excellent support. I really liked my tutor, she was really caring and was always willing to help.
The online lessons/forums were particularly helpful. You could interract with other students and realise there are others at the same level as you.
They were very timely with correcting assignments which I handed in, usually the next working day.
I studied Business Management and my Student Number is E12000180. I enjoy being a student (once) in Home Learning College because i discover that in HLC, they have a dynamic and competent staffs, with a good human relationship skills. During days of my program with the college, i so much enjoy the passion and the guide given to me by my course tutor which really help me to make distinction in the program. I also enjoy the methods in which they set questions because most their questions really help me in my future career now and i say more graze to their elbow. God Bless.
Distance learning with the Home Learning College was ideal for me; it suited my lifestyle and fit perfectly with work and family committments. I found it really easy to access an area of learning I felt I needed to understand more clearly. Being able to study at my own pace rather than the short term deadlines set by standard learning establishments meant I could revisit reading material as often as I needed in order to fully understand the subject before writing my essays.
Studying with HLC encourages students to locate reading material from many different sources of information rather than setting a prescribed 'reading list'. Tutors are extremely supportive, helpful and efficient in replying to student questions and problems. Completed essays are marked very quickly with additional notes for suggested improvements in content or presentation. Completing the Diploma in Child Psychology with a Distinction has given me a greater level of confidence in my area of employment and updated my knowledge in line with current theory and practice.
I would recommend HLC courses to anyone who wanted to study at their own pace in the comfort of their own home, especially if low confidence, time or transport is an issue.
I am so happy I decided to study with the HLC, one of the best decisions I have made recently.
Home learning college is a really good way to study. You can go at your own pace and study how and when you like. Every time I rang my tutor I got the every little but of help I needed to then progress with my studies.
Before deciding on which course to take, consider how much time you will be prepared to give to your studies. It is important to allow enough time to cook, clean, look after your family and then study.
The support from your family is equally important - study when they do their homework and share the dining room table!!
Home Learning college tutors are there to help so make use of them. They are all very helpful
HLC is very good for study materials and guiding the student through to a level where passing an exam is almost inevitable. The tutor and Virtual Learning Centre are also very helpful. The only downside is that the organisation behind it can be slow and frustrating. But I would definitely recommend it if you want a great study guide towards a qualification.
If you are looking to study AAT then Home Learning College is a sound choice if you are willing to put in the necessary work.
They will not do it for you - there is no favourite teacher to drag you through it - but you will get out of it what you put in.
The reference material provided is excellent and the tutorial support is there for specific learning points. The marking and exam feedback is also very good.
The administration side is sound and if you are continuing through level 3 and MAAT there are discounts available for loyalty.
If you need more tutorial support then a college set up may favour you, but if you are willing to put the hard work in and in your own time then this is an excellent course handler for you.

I enjoyed the Diploma in Life Coaching course, it also helps you learn about setting up your own business and how to write a business plan.
The tutor marks your work a few days after you have submitted each unit, sometimes even a few hours after so you can move on to the next assignment and not feel held up.
The tutor gives useful comments and constructive feedback.
The exercises get you to practice Life Coaching on friends, however in order to become accredited by the Association for Coaching, you will need to follow their criteria and put in much more practice over a longer period of time and have supervision also.
This course is a very good beginners course and it gives you a very good grounding, I recommend it.
You can also register for an NUS card to help you get discounts which is very useful.
I feel I would now like to study an advanced Diploma in Life Coaching as i feel i need to learn about more tools i can use and for a larger variety of client situations.
Studying with the Home Learning college is a really easy method, the tutors know what they are talking about and i felt that the course was very well laid out, thought provoking and a real joy to study.
It is also very easy to submit work, see what work is outstanding and get on with things without complication as it is very user friendly.
