I went into sytner select gatwick honda after seeing a car I liked the look of on the internet. I placed a holding deposit on the car, and after travelling quite far to get to this place I drove around in this car, they didnt tell me what any of the buttons did in the car, or show me anything what the car has or can do. Then after the drive the salesman passed me on to his manager, now this guy is an ass, he told me that they do over a hundred point check on the cars and they dont sell cars with the tread level below 3 mill....well thats a lie because when he showed me the MOT it showed two tyres below 3 mill, then the exhaust had corrosion on it, he did say he would replace the tyres but then he started to come out with excuses as to why he couldnt replace the exhaust, he said cars this age are bound to have corrosion on the exhaust, really.... well my car was 4 years older then this car I wanted plus it had done more then double the mileage and theres no corrosion on my old car so the crap that this guy was coming out with was unbelievable, then he wanted me to pay for GAP insurance, I told him and the other salesman that I didnt want GAP insurance four times and they still didnt listen, they then put on a one years extended warranty which i didnt ask for, at this point I made my mind up that theres no way that i'm buying a car from these ass holes so I just agreed with what they wanted, got out of there then cancelled everything, I then went to BMW and brought a car from them, they treated me with A LOT more respect so I bought myself a nice car from them and got GAP insurance as well.... Oh and this sales manager from Gatwick Honda tried to rip me off with the monthly payments, he didnt go through what interest I would be paying and he didnt reduce the price of the car as I asked, instead he tried to give some complicated figures with the total I would be paying excluding the interest written down...I asked him three times did he take the amount I paid for the holding deposit off the total of the car, he said yes he did but when i got home and went through the figures he left out £50 of the deposit...where did that £50 go? probably in his back pocket, and the interest i would have paid would have been 33% which again he failed to mention. AVOID THIS PLACE they are only interested in getting as much commission out of you as possible especially when the sales manager said to his workmate "make sure my numbers on this one" Sytner BMW also told me that they give their reject cars to sytner SELECT...says it all really.
Avoid this dishonest garage, I have proof that they have been dishonest.
Please do not bother going to Honda dealerships they will lie to get your business. Once they take your money they do not refund your money back when there is a problem even though i am legally entitled to under this specific act "Section 57 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 states that withdrawing from a prospective regulated financial agreement operates as if a cancellation has taken place. If a cancellation of the finance agreement has taken place, this means that any linked transaction, such as the purchase of the goods themselves is also cancelled. In these circumstances, any money paid, such as the payment of a deposit, should be refunded. "
They have ignored my letter of action to court therefore i will be taking them to the small claims court very soon.
Honda customer service are very ineffective in dealing with their own dealerships which i think is wrong as the dealerships are representing the brand.
Hence I will never buy Honda and I will make sure my family and friends avoid Honda until they start looking out for the customer and start doing what is best for them and not looking to line their pockets with money by withholding deposits which in my case they are not legally allowed to.
(Specific to Crown Honda Hendon dealership avoid them please)
UPDATE: So after having to start court proceedings they coughed up all my money, interest incurred and legal fees, if that is not admission of guilt i don't know what is! I am still waiting for an apology which i don't think i will get.
interesting website, cars, motorbikes , wow factor, say i got a Honda and people generally say huh very nice. Refinements youd expect and well made ,a Honda car at 10 years old is still likely to look modern and still have zero rust! a name badge you are proud to admit owning! car snobbery at affordable prices!
