If you go travel and would like to look for more cheaper and budget place to stay, recommended you to search through Hostel World. Many choices here and you are able to choose the place which suit you. The only disadvantage in staying guest house or home stay is you cannot bring children to stay along. Otherwise it is recommended for you especially if you are single or travel alone.
90% of my guests are from Booking.com as they don't charge costs and cancellation until the last moment. Much more cancellations and work for me but just 5 % of my guests are from Hostelworld. My pleasure, Frank
This site is very helpful. It gives you several options in every city, and the prices are awesome. I trust this site when I travel and my friends too. You give the deposit and when you arrive at the hostel you just pay the rest. You can also get to know what the hostels offer you. It's awesome!
I stayed in two hostels that were listed with hostelworld: in Fez, Morocco and in Barcelona, Spain. I found both places to be well run establishments that were clean, and quiet. In both places, the sleeping area was clean and well maintained and so were the bathrooms. Good experience all around.
Best hostel I've ever stayed in my entire trip!! I felt at home, very clean, very comfortable(they provide towels and blanked),AC good, best breakfast ive had in months (8 - 10 early), safe, and two blocks from the subway. 10min from any good place in Rio (Copacabana Beach, Lapa, Botanic gardens, downtown, Nino and his crew Xandro and MarcelA are very helpful.(Dont miss the chance to go to Rio Daytrip, very good deal. I will definitely come back. xoxo
I have been backpacking for over a year now and I find that Hostelworld is the best online booking company out there. Their interface is easy and straightforward, unlike some of the competitors. The reviews are genuine and you always know what you are getting. So far I have only had great experiences with the hostels that I have booked with them.
If I could change one thing, I would ask them to add tourist / backpacker oriented information about the location I am visiting. This would help me not have to do more online research. This is not really their business model (today) yet in the age of the internet I see no reason Hostelworld could not completely replace guidebooks.
