I would not recommend this website to anyone. First if all the hotel was miss represented. The pictures we saw online were great. We pulled up to the hotel after driving for 9 hours to a dump. We were so looking forward to getting into our room to taking a shower and relaxing but that did not happen. When walked into our room it stunk, the drawers were broken on the clothes storage, the refrigerator was broken and dirty, the toilet was constantly running, and to top it off there was not hot water. We went to the hotel management and we were shown another room that was just as bad. So we decided to leave after going through 2 hours of hotel management and hotel club going back forth with each other on who was to blame for the problem. We contacted our banking institution to dispute the charges that is when we found out they not only charged with the room fee but also added a holding fee and an international fee which was not authorized by us. Just beware before booking a hotel room through this company.
Do not use this site I booked what I thought was a hotel it was a run down house in a absolutely disgraceful area even some of the locals could not believe what we were staying in. I tried to contact costumes service to ask for a refund it took me three times to get though when I did they were very rude and could not help I had to ask to be put through to manager which then took another 45 minutes I was told would get my refund but would take 4 days I was with 4 friends all young girls who were left without a hotel in a foreign place.. this is a absolute joke. DO NOT USE!!!
We had a nasty snow storm coming to NY and I needed a place to stay that was closer to work. I used the HotelClub website because they had an affordable rate for a room that was close to my office. When I got to the hotel there was a very violent altercation occurring in front of the lobby (that's a review for a different website but I suggest you also stay away from the Ramada in Yonkers, NY) and needless to say I didn't feel safe staying there. I called HotelClub customer service immediately and told them the situation and they had my call "escalated" and that a supervisor would call me back. I did hear back from a supervisor about 45 minutes later and she said that she had spoken with the front desk but since no manager was on duty, I could not be issued a refund. She advised that she would contact the manager of the hotel and call me back within 24 to 48 hours. At 1am a few days later I received a call from the same supervisor stating the manager of the hotel wouldn't allow me to have a refund because I didn't contact them directly. Seriously- who calls someone at 1am?! After contacting the Ramada directly and having a very rude manager tell me that I was being swindled by the website and I would need to get a refund directly from HotelClub. Now I'm finding myself on a wild goose chase going from customer service rep. to supervisor over and over again just to have someone give me a refund for a hotel that I didn't stay at due to dangerous and violent conditions. This company is out to get your money and not work with you in any capacity. They are customer service amateurs simply trying to pass the buck and neither myself, nor any one of my colleagues will ever use their services again. And in case you're wondering, I still haven't received my money back.
I booked a hotel room for one night via hotel club and found out later there was a foreign transaction fee for the booking which was not disclosed. An honest business should put all the charges up front so people will know how much they will pay for. This is a fraud. I tried to contact their customer service but the call never went through. I will put my story on facebook, twitter, all trip reservation review sites and file complaints to BBB and FTC so this dishonest behavior will be stopped.
I used hotel club to book a hotel in London and they messed my booking up and booked the wrong date despite several checks from me and my partner before confirming any final booking arrangements. Their "customer service" takes you straight to India and to top it off, when they finally had "investigated" their own problem, customer services decided to call me at 7.00AM to give me the bad news that they would do nothing to compensate me for their problem! There's not even a complaints department or anything if you have an issue with this service, they jut ignore their customers instead! Poor service, poor customer care and I am considering going to trading standards, this is THE WORST website/service you could even consider using for booking a hotel!
We booked for 3 rooms in Phuket's Thai Siam hotel for December 2013. The bookings were done way back in September 2013 and we also received the booking confirmation. When we reached the hotel on the day of check in, the hotel guys just couldnt find our reservation. We called hotelclub to find out that hotelclub never passed our reservation to the hotel due to which they had to cancel our reservation (got our money back) but they booked us in a different hotel which was 3 times the price, we had to take it since it was New Year's time and all of the other budget hotels were booked out. Well hotel club did promise the best price but best price was 3 times higher...Now why should a customer pay more money for the goof up done by hotelclub. WILL ADVISE STRONGLY NOT TO SPOIL YOUR HOLIDAY BY BOOKING THROUGH HOTELCLUB - They are the worst in the industry!
HotelClub which is suppose to be a world leading global accommodation website. Has proven once again why they are still AMATEURS.
My experience in dealing with this company was very disappointing, frustrating and stressful. I do not recommend these people (STAY AWAY).
So basically i had booked a hotel and paid for it in full. The next day (WITHOUT TELLING ME) they go ahead and decide to deduct all my membership points that i had accumulated having spending hundreds of dollars there maybe even thousands. I find by checking my emails regularly and am shocked! So i call them and they will not admit to the mistake, rather they try to twist the story and make you feel like shit for calling them. They do not take any responsibility and bitch around all day.
This group denied my request to have the points put back into my account because they were actually of high value because of my prior purchases. They wanted to charge me a extra amount for THEIR mistake! Ridiculous...i know but that's the kind of service to expect from HotelClub, claiming there they best in the industry, with their marketing scamming loyalty programs and blunt customer service. Stay away, i give you my advice because i have experienced the negativity from this bunch!
I made several bookings since years now via hotel.club. It's easy, There is a lot of choice, always deals and some good advices! The only shame is that they don't include B&B but it's really nothing compare to the rest! So: each Time i can travel, i use hotel.club to find my accomodation!
I always read what other guests says about the hotel, if more Than two says there's something wrong with location, breakfast, the rooms they are probably right. It is an easy way to get a good hotel, and so far I have been disapointed just once.
HotelClub has ratings that are reliable and reviews that make selection and booking so easy and the advantage of paying in Australian currency before you go is a real advantage. Also the rewards for loyalty is a great bonus.
Booked the unusually named Salvo Hotel Shanghai because it fitted our criteria of central location so that we could walk everywhere; somewhat old-fashioned like a grand old lady; large size bedroom with well apointed bathroom; breakfast included with a large range of choice allowing a good start to the day; priced very competitively when compared to hotels with less facilities and not as close. HotelClub delivered on their description which we cannot say for others. Had all the information we needed on printed form which was accessible as we travelled. All round good experience. Well done HotelClub we will certainly use you again.
