disappointed

we chose a covent garden area 4 * hidden gem. we were offered a room in the cumberland , marble arch. we accepted because we were due to leave for london and did not want further delays. the hotel is listed as 4 *. having stayed in a number of 4 or 5 * hotels in the city centre , we found this one very disappointed. more effort and space has been given to the vast , waste of space lobby. the rooms were sufficient but really no better than a newly refurbished premier inn. the layout of the standard rooms was most unimpressive. even with limited space the furniture could have placed better. more effort has been used on adding 'features' like the glass wall than offering comfort. climbing over my partner to get in and out of bed was not what i would expect to do! we wish we had taken a room in the ,albeit, run down premier in up in bloomsbury. whilst the rooms there are in need of renovation, they are unpretentious and both people could access their bed easily. overall a very disappointing experience. having used many late booking sites , i am afraid this one , was to date, our worst experience.
