In principle, HUKD is great, find great deals, buy/sell old items, freebies, competitions. A good one stop shop.
However, all the goodness is destroyed by power hungry moderators who get a kick out of suspending someone at every opportunity, regardless of whether in the rules or not. Sometimes you get suspended for something vaguely within the rules, but open to interpretation, sometimes you get suspended even if it is not in the rules, just because a moderator thinks it is.
They are quick to suspend and never move away from this. They are like the FA, come up with ridiculous ideas that no one else agrees with.
The best way I can describe HUKD's moderators are like traffic wardens who wait for your paid parking ticket to expire and 1 minute later you have a ticket, or for being slightly outside a box junction, or being on a kerb. Basically the lowest of the low.
It's not even worth going into details of where they have got it wrong, but a perfect example is being suspended for attempting to outbid someone. Apparently that is not allowed, even where the seller had not yet agreed to the sale with the previous individual. I as the bidder was suspended. Where is the logic. The previous bidder even said, "feel free to sell to the higher bidder", the seller of course would surely have preferred more money and I was willing to pay more money, so in the end three people that between us have no issue for complaint. Then comes in the moderator and suddenly I'm suspended for a breach of a rule that isn't even in the rules!!
The site seams very popular, which is why i joined up but within a couple of minutes id broken a golden rule.. and was given an "Infraction" Really? It seams only individuals who do not work for any company offering a deal can actually post a deal... hmmmm did i read that right?? well my guess is 98% of those deals and voucher codes, are posted by people who work for those companies, otherwise where did they get them from?
Did they just happen to stumble across it during a google search and think... drop everything ive got to get this on UKHOTDEALS! ... errrrm no.. i doubt it...
and dont try and private message someone either if you have just joined up as new members dont get this privilege... (nice welcome)
The mods or should they be called Bullies, will lock you down within minutes if you just happen to not follow the strict protocol... such as not providing a price for an item.. even though it says you can leave it blank on the form....
such a shame...

Wonderful site and some great deals, but unfortunately you get the typical moderators who sit there all day nit picking over the most silliest of things. Made a post that was later changed without me knowing (merged my thread), so why bother? A good site ruined by moderators that sit on the computer all day with nothing better to do than waste your time, it's pathetic. Apart from that it would be great.
I also later got an infraction on my account from someone called 'sigma', all I did was post a link I copied and pasted from an email. It was a link for 25% off Hungry House, of which I get nothing from it. Contacted the moderator explained it all and offered to forward the email, never did ask for it though. So all that hassle for trying to share a simple 25% off voucher, how pathetic can you be?
The site is let down majorly by the children who have moderator rights. It's a case of they have no power in their lives, so they have to come to a community site to get their fix. Pretty sad.

Ive read the reviews! Ive used it as a link for years and with quidco you can make realy cash savings,Hay it is what it is a sorce of information & savings so for that reson I love it
I don't know how to express what i feel, I don't know which words i could use, I don't know why the heck i ever choose to help the community by joining (registering) at hotUKdeals.
My first share a deal and they brand me as a spammer, I'm very upset by this as i have never EVER spammed in my life, On top of everything i was banned, I must go now as my fingers keep touching the wrong buttons because im soooo upset im crying my heart out.

When posting for the first time, there is not enough info on how to post and when i posted i didnt add enough info about the competition, and my posting was removed, and i got a message saying not enough info) - i would of liked to of been told where i went wrong and have a little help in making sure i posted correctly when posting again- (so my anxiety increased) and some one who is seriously ill does not need this.. try and find there rules and how to use the site? i have been on there a few months now and still half blind, i never new how the voting system worked till a wk ago - then because i voted on deals and comps i got told off for not leaving reasons for my cold votes? As there is serious rules on voting so expect confusion! and a message to tell you off for it...
When posting a deal or comp - often it does not recognise there is a simular one already posted - which is not allowed obviously, and try searching to see if a simular one exsits! Layout needs a rethink.
Over all i find some people on the site very friendly, at times there is to many monkeys how ever who can not wait to gang up on you for a small mistake, and leave you a message or two or three so if your ill like me be careful.
Also i would like to add that i do at least 3,000 comps a month and i am always winning something nearly all how ever are not on this site.. Most comps are for larger items with high value, low value comps there are not much off, i have done comps for some time and have a good insight and no where to search for them..and have the time. to many people entering high value comps have a very small chance of winning... so people complain they have not won anything.
I think it would also be nice to have a winners section? so people can see what others have won - maybe one does exsits? but i am yet to find it. I still have not manage to post a item for sale as i am still confused on this, no doubt i will get told off when i do.
I give it two stars for the reasons i have mentioned, and there are to many monkeys.

I've nothing but praise for the site and can't understand why people on here have been moaning and posting 1 star ratings. Yes there are a lot of rather random products on there and some of the in store deals will be hard to find but it's brought some great deals to my attention - just pipcked up 2 brand new Kodak cameras from ASDA for £25 because of the site which has also alerted me to the wonders of Quidco.
Yes, when it comes to the voting "hot or cold" it's up to the individuals on there and there are a few opinionated idiots but isn't that the same everywhere, in most workplaces and on pretty much every online forum? For the most part I've found peoples input after posts very helpful on the electrical products I've been looking at.
As for the security aspect, if someone can hack the site to access your account, what can they get?
Have a look and give it a try, and if you're worried about what people may post in reply to one of yours, then just view, dont post.
Full of arrogant youths posting the best deals for PS3 consoles. Try posting a deal about something non electrical and get shot down by their voting system or it gets marked as spam. Lots of bickering and name calling that stretches for about 1000 comments about mis-prices or glitches. All in all, a marketing ploy, you post the deal and the site gets paid commision for directing customers to amazon and the like.

Probably the most useful site on the internet for deals.
I'm not sure what some of these people are complaining about. I've been a regular on this site for the last couple months. Everyone has been helpful and friendly, tho a bit sarcastic at times.
I got all my holiday shopping done for 200 quid cheaper than I'd budgeted for because of deals I found on hotukdeals.
My brother was rubbing my face in it how he got a great laptop deal so decided to check this web site out. People post deals they find on the internet and have a voting system where other people can vote hot for good and cold for bad.
.
People usually post some interesting things from some dark random place on the internet you'd never think to look, there's one catch though this is the meet and greet place for just about every idiot and plain bad webmaster on the internet. I woke up one day struggling to log in only to find out I was banned. I have no idea of the reason but apparently the so called 'mods' are like this and must of voted cold on the wrong deal or something to maybe one of their 'pals'.
I suggest never signing up to this web site, you can look at the web page without ever having an account and look around. Sign up and expect to have your head ripped off by these people just for posting a deal which you didn't know was posted and completly slammed when someone has another opinion on your product. Unbelivable treatment of users really, you don't need it in your life.
Look but don't touch this web site ;~)
Some good deals get posted on this web site, it is also usefull to see any previous prices of items you are interested in. I would advise ignoring the in store deals as there's little chance of you actually finding them in your area but there are the occasional web site deal that someone sniffed out and posted.
I must note however its flooded with a bad community so I would advise not signing up, they bicker endlessly towards one another and some unfunny Onkyo joke just goes on and on. Best nip in check what you want and get outta there. The mod team is terrible also.
Hotukdeals is a web site where people post deals they find in store or over the internet. It also allows you to rate the deal and comment. Most of the posted deals are usually in store, or some misprice that you'll never see as it won't be availible in your area. I've been browsing it for a long time and never found anything decent. mostly 3 for 2 deals at play for example, nothing special.
More importantly they must have lack security as my account was hacked from some user who must of disagreed on something I wrote on the web site which lead up to further problems, I even had cancelled my credit cards just to be safe.
-------
I would avoid this web site if possible, The mod staff are ignorant and ignore even at a time of crises such as a hack. The community overall isn't much better with alot of different opinions leading to confrontations
Plenty of more pleasurable places on the internet to find a bargain, Best avoid this one..

Great company, had great idea, helps to save a lot of money!
No hooks, it's basically a forum like website where people post great deals!
Get there now and save money!
Updated constantly with new offers and deals. If you are looking to buy anything then checking here first for the best current deals and offers is always a good place to start.
I love this site and I always check on there before buying anything!!!
Lots of great bargains and also assistance when required.
Highly recommended by me!
Possibly when of the worst forums/shopping portals. Clearly favours Amazon at the expense of offering a good service.
