My husband bought me a ring last Xmas, 1 week later I lost a stone, told because he didn't take out insurance at the time I would have to pay. I said I would as I couldn't wear it like this. 4 weeks later they rang to say it was back,I thought it would be fixed, but it had only gone away for an estimate. It would have to go away again 5 weeks to be repaired. I took it to another jeweler who repaired it in 24 hours.
Second day in a row we received appalling service in same branch at royal parade plymouth. The only difference on the second day is that she was also quite abrupt and rude. The sales assistant did not know how to process a simple gift card transaction...hence the return on the second day to find someone that cared enough to follow the transaction through. Unfortunately we were faced with the same person that was annoyed that we hadnt taken her advice and gone elsewhere!!.
Don't bother ordering from Hsamuel. They drag customers to their websites with attractive and fake sale-prices. Only to turn around and cancel the order as out-of-stock. Sending you an email with a lengthy T&C.

Though it is still showing in-stock on their website now at a full price. (I placed my order at their sale price) 30/08/13
I called customer service and they refused to offer me the same item @ a sale price, advising me to place another order at a full and current price.
I even asked for another colour of the same item which they have in stock and they refused.
I find this very irritating after waiting for days and this is all I could get.
That's why Amazon is so reliable and trustworthy with a no-nonsense customer service. It’s not a secret why more and more customers are moving up to them. Would anyone be surprised to hear Hsamuel has crumbled tomorrow? With an attitude like this it shows that customers mean nothing to them.
I wonder if I would have anything to do with them in future.....obviously nothing.
And interestingly, lots of people have same issues with them....just read it online yourself.
I ordered for a AX watch that was on offer and they charged me and sent a mail telling me that I will be receiving it in two days. But after a day I received a mail telling me that they are out of stock and cancelled the order. I actually missed an offer from watchshop which was only few pounds higher than HSamuel and the watch was for my brothers birthday and I disappointed him on his birthday without any proper gift as I couldn't spend any more money suddenly on anything else.
the worse thing is that, I sent a mail to their customer care about the issue and they seem to never care about any customers. HIGHLY DISSATISFIED AND DEPRESSED.
I recently made a complaint about not receiving my item on time, even though I have paid for next day delivery. I've been called back and explained that my parcel couldn't have been left with a neighbour because ID needs to be shown upon delivery. Delivery came a day later, without even being asked anything about an ID.
If that wasn't enough, I have also received an item I did not purchase (replacement for what I actually wanted?) and the second item, being a set of earrings and necklace, earrings being defect.
This is an absolute joke. Will not ever, in my life buy from H. Samuel again. Wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
I took a bangle to be engraved at Samuels in Guildford. When it came back (a week later than promised) the engraving was so small as to be illegible, even to someone who knew what it was supposed to say. The staff agreed and returned it to their engravers, promising it would be prioritised. They asked me to pay for the engraving at this point which I refused, unsurprisingly. Approximately TWO MONTHS LATER it finally came back with acceptable engraving - by now the process had taken nearly 3 months in total. When I suggested they might like to offer me some sort of compensation for the appalling service they said that really I should be paying for both lots of engraving but they were waiving the first charge. Absolutely unbelievable.
ordered our wedding rings from the branch in the oracle in reading , paid for them in full was told we would have them in store to collect within 3 days , so far its been two weeks and we keep getting told there is a problem with stock .
now at the time of purchase we were told they had loads of each of our sizes in stock .
very disappointed with the after service that we are recieving and after our rings arrive will not use them again
i took a necklace back to h,samuel in the arndale centre,which was bought for my wife 2 months previous,by my daughter, it needed a minor repair,h samuel are still selling the necklace and bracelet.i was told it would take 7/14 days as it had to go back to quality control.i stipulated it would only take 7/14 days,i was told it sometimes earlier,after 13 days i rang them,to see if it was back,i was then told it takes 6/8 weeks??.i then contacted the cust/services,and put it to them i was'nt told at the time it would take 6/8 weeks.they said look at the receipt,what date does it give for collection,it was 1st /8th/09,i did'nt look at the small print.i was'nt told that at the time.i have asked for the necklace to be sent back at once. so people be warned.the way h,samuel work.whatever they tell you read what they have put on the receipt.i for one would not be buying anything else off them.they speak with fork tongues.
