Bang On!
Htfr sent me a email recently regarding an enquiry I made back in 2008!! I left the enquiry in the safe hands of htfr and in all fairness it was a long shot! ..... Well, I've just received my old skool vinyl of a long lost speed garage tune I've wanted for years! And it arrived in loads of proper packaging! Thanks htfr! Bang On!

Satisfied HTFR facebook comp winner
Won a competition with HTFR on Facebook and received my record very swiftly and with the best packaging i have ever received with a vinyl posted it was in a mailer with 4 cardboard stiffeners which was inside a large jiffy bag which was covered in plastic really wasnt expecting this attention to detail/customer service given that i had won the vinyl despite it being £50+ in value,hats off HTFR highly recommended!! Cheers!

Very fast delivery and Vinyl LP ass described
Have been after 1st Base by the Willesden Dodgers for about 25 years and finally decided to dust off the turntable and make my own CD version.
The LP was described as very good. I would say the vinyl looks almost mint, better than most of my LPs which I did try to take care of.
The cover is slightly worn at the edges and is not isn as good condition as the vinyl but it is probably in good condition perhaps a bit better.
The LP arrived I think 3 days after the purchase, although it may have been 2.
The packaging seemed appropriate for a vinyl record although I would probably have placed the word fragile on the cardboard.
I have now digitised the LP and while I have not split the tracks etc I can confirm that it played with no jumps or scratches.
Overall I was very happy with the transaction and I thought the LP was a bargain.

Brilliant choice! good quality vinyl and great customer service as well.
One of the best vinyl stores out there. I am impressed at the selection available and particularly like that you can add items to wish list and HTFR e-mail you once they do become available as well. I contacted customer services once and they have been extremely helpful as well. Very happy altogether and will certainly be shopping again in the near future. Thanks HTFR!

Awesome
Excellent service as usual. Haven't purchased any item since new management took over. Always helpful if you ring up with a Q or query. After the loss of Massive Records in Oxford closing down some years ago its good to know you can still lay a finger on your Fav 12".

Under new management, take care but looking promising!
OK so I got an email from HTFR, who I had not used for years, saying they are under new ownership and with a discount code for returning customers. The listings pages are easy to use and there is a clear promise that if it says it's in stock it will be. I checked a few wants and genres I'm interested in and found a lot of new-old-stock from the 90s (probably the remnants of some of the distributors who went bust a few years ago), so ordered a whole load. I avoided any s/h stuff and beware there are still plenty of old htfr "represses" (i.e. bootlegs) in stock. A few days before I emailed in a query about one of my target tunes using the contact form on the web page, but I never heard back.
Making the transaction however was a bit hi-n-miss. I tried to pay by paypal, but the transaction did not register properly, and it returned me to my cart, but with the effect of the discount code all screwed up. After being 100% sure that paypal had not been deducted, I tried again with credit card. Success!
A day or so later I had notification of the delivery date, and it arrived as promised. I ordered Friday night and the package arrived Tuesday - not bad! The records were in the cheapest white record mailers, and because I bought so many there were no stiffeners, and 2 mailers were taped together. The CDs were in a jiffy bag, then the mailers and jiffy were in a giant jiffy bag, folded over and sealed in a plastic mailer bag. I wouldn't be too happy if a single record arrived in that style of mailer with no stiffener, but this was decently packaged and everything was undamaged. The vinyl and CDs were all new as promised. a couple of sleeves had storage / handling wear including bends, but nothing too serious for 15 year old records.
Like I say I ordered no second-hand stuff, got no response to a query and the transaction system leaves a bit to be desired, so a cautious 3 stars in spite of excellent product and quick, well-packed delivery.

Logistics wise (from processing an online purchase to shipping), is fundamentally sound.
So far, so good, with the Gold Shipping, trackable via "Parcelforce", plus it was safely/successfully delivered accordingly (from Birmingham UK, towards Manila Phils.)
On the other hand, still hoping though that the HTFR online transaction system CAN come into achieving a more excellent services, perhaps once they can add more shipping options such as "UPS Express" (or the likes of it) - so that its services can also accommodate clients whom most likely would be in REAL NEED of their purchased goods be delivered accordingly ASAP (at the most, within 2-3 days of delivery 'impromptu'; even good for those who are outside UK countries/continents). 2 cents though....

defects
One of plates in my order was totally unsuitable for playing.
customer service responded to this:
"Unfortunately we do not have replacement record in stock. I have issued £6.99 store credit to your account for the cost of the record."
ok/ everything may happen, someone shed the plaster or paint on the plate right before dispatch my order. Yep, most records in this shop is cheap.
but still after 2 months i'm sitting with this stupid useless record and no credit in my account that was promised.

poor delivery
have been waiting for my package for nearly 6 days now and it got dispatched 4 days ago. bit of a dissapointment really when other vinyl stores do it for free next day. unfortunately i won't be coming back

I found the service at HTFR good. Great that they sell 12" singles. As a collector I was more than happy with the quality of the goods that were sent me. I will use them again future purchases of 12" singles, They come highly recommended

Miss Leading!
Have used HTFR a few times in last few years but never reviewed, despite previous disappointments about returns policy.
Latest experience is fairly trivial, but straw to break camel's back.
Ordered replacement Wharfedale speakers and was told I'd get a call with one hour delivery slot. Tracked online to find already delivered (luckily a neighbour was in to receive) but no call ever received. No big deal but...
Was only when I came to rig up for gig that I find new SVP X15 speakers (old were SVP15) don't connect to standard 1/4". They're speakon! Now it's not HTFR fault that Wharfedale changed, but in asking for straight replacements I'd expect sales to know the connections have updated and advise. I end up doing a gig off one channel only as too late to get hold of speakon cables. Not good!
Think they've had enough benefit of the doubt. Time to look elsewhere.

Adverage service
Even though HTFR keep their promise that if you order your product before 3:30pm Monday to Thursday, the product reaches you the next day which I was very happy about. They were very efficient when talking to then on the phone and placing my order.
Unfortunately I was unhappy with the service that they provided when returning a faulty product for repair.
I think that if a product is within warrenty, HTFR should pay for the courier cost to pick up the product. If the product is out of warrenty then it should be the customer's responsability to pay the courier cost like anyone else that wants them to repair the product.
I sent the product in question back for repair and was told it would take 3 weeks. I eventually got my product back 4 1/2 weeks later after sending (fully repaired). Maybe HTFR should disclose that it could take between 3-5 weeks instead to stop disapointment like I had.
Once the product had been delivered it was missing the power supply which I then had to contact them for a replacement which was given to me free of charge due to a mistake.
Over all good service but not the best.

Disappointing
Received a moving head light last week which was listed in a "Summer Sale" on the website.
The item was not listed as B Stock or used condition so I was expecting a nice brand new moving head light which I had paid a lot of money for regardless of it being in a sale.
Much to my disappointment then, when the item arrived, I found it had been used before (dust in one of the fans under it's grill and general scuff marks on the moving head)...
The light didn't even come with a power lead or a manual - just a hanging bracket and HTFR's catalogue - well I don't think I'll be keeping hold of the catalogue anymore... bin job for that one, and as for the light, it's getting picked up by courier today for a refund. Shall be using other DJ retailers in the future I think.........
