This is the worst company ever! I purchased a set of ceramic kitchen pans.. They arrived damaged.. When I returned them I was first promised a replacement .. When a month passed with no news I contacted them.. They admitted that there was an issue on there behalf and all the stock had damage. I was promised a refund ... 1 month later and no refund .. I chased them and was again going through indian call centers and being promised my money back.... I was sent £5.99 for some reason , so again 2 months in I called and explained that they owe me £40 ... I was promised call backs...refunds by random so called managers... It's been 4 months now... I have yet to receive my refund...
I will never ever deal with this company and can guarantee a nightmare with them...
Don't use this lot you don't even get what you pay for and they will not comply with the sale of goods act or their own returns policy. You might as well just send them your cash as a thank you for the pleasure of being entertained and lied to by them on TV.
Believe nothing they say about delivery, quality, stock ,refunds, consumer protection and do not send them money as when the product goes wrong you will be speaking to someone in India who cant understand you or you them. Also its cheaper in the long run to buy elsewhere and pay slightly more as you will have to re purchase the item elsewhare as they will not refund or replace any faulty items.
This is the latest email i have sent to them.
Further to my last Email sent today please also look at your companies own returns policy this should help you in resolving the matter and you don't even have to ask your warehouse for clarification.
For your information i have pasted the appropriate part below and highlighted in bold the part that i think you should note, so please stop trying to fob me off and comply with your own companies policy and issue a refund.
Damaged/Faulty: If the product is damaged/faulty or the wrong item and you require a replacement, please contact Customer Services on 08717 123 456* to arrange collection. Please enclose the supplied Returns Slip giving details of the damage/fault. The product will be repaired or replaced and sent back to you free of charge. If no replacement stock is available, a refund will be issued. *Calls cost 10p per minute plus network extras.
I would strongly advise anyone against buying anything from Ideal World. Their customer service is non-existent, their advisers read from scripts saying the same thing over and over again and are totally devoid of any people skills whatsoever. Before Christmas we bought a Gemini Joytab tablet from their website. It had been in use for approximately seven weeks when it developed a software problem and crashed completely. We were unable to solve the problem ourselves so sought advice from Ideal World who advised us to return the tablet, using a returns label which they emailed to me, and they would pass it on to the manufacturer for repair. We did this and returned it in the actual packaging which we received the tablet in from Ideal World in the first place, with the bluetooth keyboard attached as it was supposed to be, covering the screen. After a couple of weeks we received the tablet back through the post with a covering letter stating that the required repairs to the damaged screen were not covered by the manufacturers warranty. We were very puzzled as there was no damage to the screen, the problem was with the software. We switched the tablet on to discover a huge crack in the internal screen which was DEFINITELY NOT THERE WHEN WE RETURNED THE TABLET IN IT'S ORIGINAL PACKAGING!!!!! Obviously we were annoyed and confused as to how this had happened and rang Ideal World immediately to be told we had not packaged the tablet properly therefore they could not do anything about it. How they deem the packaging they sent the tablet to us in to be insufficient is beyond me. There is absolutely no damage to the packaging nor to the keyboard (which would have acted as protection for the screen) so it seems to me very unlikely that the damage has occurred during transit with the courier (which Ideal World told us to use, sending us the returns label and telling us exactly where to take the package for collection) so that only leaves Ideal World themselves as culprits for the damage after they received the package. Every member of staff I have spoken to has been extremely unhelpful and unsympathetic and have been promised many calls which have not been made. Today I have received an email stating that they have tried ringing me with no answer. This is simply untrue, neither my landline nor mine or my husband's mobiles have rang, they just do not want to speak to either of us because they are all too aware that we will not take no for an answer. I am now heading straight to the Watchdog website to complete their online form to report Ideal World for their shocking customer service and blatant breach of consumer rights. I urge everyone to boycott this terrible company, they do not deserve your custom and they will simply steal your money and rip you off at every given opportunity.
Bought a set of TRIPLEX DRILL-ALL DRILL BIT SET. DOESN'T DRILL ALL in fact DOESN'T DRILL anything other than wood and plastic, which goes totally against their flashy little demo on the TV shows showing it drilling a solid brake disk, concrete, stone, wood.
DRILL-ALL drill bits??? TOTAL RUBBISH DONT BUY THEM. Tried calling IDEAL WORLD only to be told by a guy who could hardly speak english that their computers weren't working. Ive wrote to IDEAL WORLD demanding my money back and failing that Ive already notified and currently passed the matter to Trading Standards for them to deal with should IDEAL (rip-off) WORLD refused to deal.
BOUGHT 2 SETS OF CURTAINS AND PELMETS FOR BEDROOM,BUT DID NOT USE UNTIL 5 MONTHS LATER ONLY TO FIND ONE OF CURTAINS RUFFLETTE TAPE ON TOP CAME AWAY AS I HUNG THEM,CONTACTED THEM,THEY SAID TO SEND BACK ONE SET FOR REPAIR WHICH I DID,BUT THEY RETURNED THEM SAYING DONT DO REPAIRS,BUT SAID THEY COULD REFUND ONE SET BUT NOT OTHER AS DONT HAVE STOCK,BUT I SAID I BOUGHT 2 MATCHING SETS TO GO TOGETHER HAVING 2 WINDOWS IN BEDROOM,TOLD THEM I CAN GET REPAIRED FOR £20 AT THEIR EXPENSE BUT THEIR NOT LISTENING.ENDED UP PAYING FOR REPAIR MYSELF,AS WHEN I RANG ALL I GOT WAS BAD ENGLISH SPEAKING FOREIGN PERSON AT MY COST.WOULD NOT USE AGAIN.RUBBISH SERVICE.
I will keep it short? Has its all been said before. Sent all three items back within four days of receiving them after fifteen minutes on a high rate phone call I got all the information I required. I was sent a conformation of my two returns but three was sent back with all the correct paper work filled in. I emailed the customer service about this and received a preloaded email back saying it would be dealt with. After three days i had no reply so sent another email only to receive the preloaded email again. I would love to contact them by phone but I'm not going through that again. Ideal world was in my opinion very good and I have shopped with them before, don't know what's gone wrong but until its sorted they won't be getting my money again.
I HAVE BOUGHT ITEMS FROM THEM THREE TIMES AND HAVE HAD TO RETURN THEM. THE ITEMS ARE SUB STANDERD AND TACKY THE PEOPLE YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH TREAT YOU WITH CONTEMPT, AND ARE RUDE AND UNHELPFULL. MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO SOURCE THE GOODS FROM ELSEWHERE, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT AS I HAVE DONE. I HAVE GIVEN THEM THE LEAST RATING I AM ALLOWED TO GIVE
HERMES THEIR COURIORS ARE AS BAD IDEALWORD THEY ARE RUDE, UNRELLIABLE UNTRUSTWORTHY. KEEP AWAY FROM THEM
A parcel was left outside the house not in a safe location, a card put through the door saying they had left it under meater box, there was nothing there when I got home. I called ideal world after being left hanging on the phone at premium rates making them a profit for 9 mins!!! Then only to get through to somebody who's English was not great, I had to repeat myself over & over again explaining the issues & what happened & that I was not prepared to wait again for this parcel to be reordered I had made alternative arrangements. They then told me that I had not even placed an order with them of which I most definitely had & they had debited my credit card!!!! So I had to repeat it again & I do speak very clear English with no thick accent!! Eventually after being on the phone for 25 mins they said they would refund the items ordered. 2wks later I got a disclaimer to sign, which they said they would not Need to send to me. So I sent it back thinking that would be an end to it, but no I was so wrong, I had my credit card bill & they have only credited part of my order with £24.99 still to be credited. So I have called them again the automated system is a joke asking the same questions long pauses & then repeating it back to you but then asking you to spell words, they drive me mad!!!, then after 5mins waiting there is a message of which I did not understand 3/4 of but got computers being serviced & to call back in 2hrs, I feel like their cash cow they are so bad with there customer services, it's an actual joke at our expense & to our sanity!! so my situation is still not resolved & have to go through this again!!!, if you want a great shopping experience & wonderful customer services in the uk then qvc all the way, my god they could teach ideal world a lot, completely stress free & customer centred. I will never shop with them ever again & will advise others not to ever touch them with a barge pole.
Over the years I've purchased items from Ideal World and each and every time I have experienced problems. Do not attempt to phone their customer services which is based in India - it is a total and absolute waste of time. In addiiton to being unable to understand them and them not understanding you they are not helpful at all and do not have a clue how to help. You also have to pay for the phone call! In desperation when I wanted to order a vibromaster recently I had logged on and my correct details displayed on the screen but after two attempts at trying to finalise the order I had no alternative but to phone them.
On the 2nd attempt I got trough to someone and she insisted that I give her my full details - name, address, delivery address etc etc. despite the fact I had explained I had my correct details up on my screen. After a lengthy phone call I was given to understand that the order had been placed and confirmed. I then get a text confirming the order but with incorrect delivery details and not the details I had given her over the phone.
Then I get an email welcoming me as a new customer and giving me a new account number etc. I reply to this email advising that I have been a customer of theirs for years and I've still not had a reply. They rarely answer emails and I refuse to phone their customer services again as they are utterly useless.
I keep emailing them and I would be happy just to know when this item will be sent. I did receive an email giving me a £10 voucher off my NEXT item purchased(if they think I will ever be buying from them again they must be mad) but they STILL haven't answered my question in my email - it is a week after I have ordered this item and still no word. I am concerned as they have put the incorrect address and not my full name so who knows where it will end up.
I have sent an email complaining but naturally no answer to this so I have basically given up and all I want now is this item and then I will definitely NOT be buying from Ideal World ever again. I am a long standing customer of QVC and it is a pleasure making purchases from them. If something should go wrong a quick free phone call to their Customer Services in Liverpool and all is sorted out with the minimum of fuss and they are always so friendly and helpful Jewellery Maker is very good too - their U.K. based free phone Customer Services is brilliant and efficient.
Why isn't something done about Ideal World. Why are they allowed to continue with this total lack of professionalism and Customer Services that give customers no service whatsoever. If they wish to compete with channels like QVC and Jewellery Maker they need to go a long way. They make the sale and then don't want to know. I am furious and frustrated.
I sent a faulty yarvik smart phone back. I've had 4 case reference numbers dealing with this fault each time prolonging the 28 days time scale which they stated it would be settled. I will never have any more dealings with them again. I'm still waiting for a settlement but I'm not holding my breath.
They can not provide you with a courier company or tracking number. Very unhelpful on the phone. Phoned 2x did not get any where, will never order from them again. At the end parcel left some were else with out a note in letter box.
I bought an Aigos watch from them little did they say on the tv programme that it should be worn on the arm that you are used to more as it self movement also the strap was a mesh wire this has broken in parts whiich wasnt a huge problem as i used plyers to blend that down so the clasp coud fit i know i should have but i couldnt be bothered to send back as i though i fixed. However with the self movement i have now realised that you have to an olympic athlete to keep it going taking it off at night is a no no. it might stop.
So i thought i would return i checked the website on the warrranty card it doesnt exist anymore . I am either very unlucky or this company was not held as an established watch maker and i was just conned on the look of it . too be honest manufacture wise i think i could have bought a better watch on the street corner as fake
I phoned up got through to a foreign centre again which is another annoying thing as you have to repeat everything or talk slowly and costs be 10p per minute
sorry but never again with ideal they seem to be selling discontinued items that go out of stock allowing you not to lave a true review.
Bought a Bissell carpet cleaner which came with a 'free' vacuum. The drive belt on the vac stopped on the third time of using and the wheel fell off. Rang up to enquire about how to exchange it for a replacement and was told to wrap it back up include a letter saying if I wanted a refund or replacement and it would be collected on specific date. Note written for replacement, wrapped and ready for collection. No one collected it till two days later. A week after another man came to collect it again. A week after this I get a letter from Ideal World saying they have issued a full refund 'as requested'. Now got very dirty carpets and plenty of dust.
my next neigbour sent a new scratched and faulty GO TABLET back to IDEtAL WORLD on 4th of April 2013 andhave contacted them on several occassions and they say that the usb cables are missing which i know was in the parcel complete this has beenEE paid for and no correspondence from them mynext door nieghbours name is Mr John Haley 23 Sneddon Court Kelty Fife
I ordered a crafting machine and related pieces from Create and Craft. (My first purchase)
After a week I still had not received I parcel, went only to my despatch email from Ideal World and followed tracking link, on the Hermes website it stated that item was DAMAGED - UNDELIVERABLE
I contacted the overseas customer service call centre (a nightmare ). I asked why I was not informed about this. Advisor said he would chase up.. Heard nothing more until next morning when courier arrived with same said parcel. I could not believe how parcel was packaged, a little Sellotape and no internal protective packaging, items missing where one side of box completely non existent.
Again phoned customer services India and was told item would be collected , I was told to state clearly in a letter the condition of parcel and whether I wanted refund or replacement. I also asked that the letter should be brought to attention of their Quality Control, as I could not believe that a parcel could be sent out to a customer in such a poorly packed state. Even box was too small for contents.
Arranged for a collection of the item as not sure if the goods were damaged in transit and arranged for replacement. Still frustratingly heard nothing, ponied uk telephone number yesterday, girl said she would look Ito this and apologised. Again heard nothing.
This morning received an email regarding a refund that had been made (not the full amount). I wanted a replacement not a refund, but it seems it is the customer who has to do all the chasing.. I have shopped many times with qvc where the customer service is excellent, free telephone numbers with fantastic advisors all based in UK.
I cannot see how this company can be allowed to trade when it it so hard to get hold of anyone to make a complaint. All emails I have sent have gone unanswered. I did though recieive an email asking me to rate item and service Ha. Cheek.! I attempted to fill I n, then at the bottom said this would not be published.
Two attempts to get a pressure washer delivered quickly. Never believe the time scales the presenters quote - complete rubbish. The first time I actually had to apply to the small claims court as the item never arrived at all. They refunded at the last minute before the court processed my application. Stupidly have tried again as the price was good and surprise surprise the item has not been dispatched when promised. Deliberately keep you waiting on the premium rate phone line which gives them a profit and then the indians just block any attempt to cancel an order. The man who regularly represents Karcher should research their real delivery timescales before quoting inaccurate timescales on TV.
A couple of years ago I ordered 5 or 6 pairs of my favorite trousers - which don't seem to be available anywhere else - and only received one pair, it took months before that mess was sorted out. I knew it was a mistake - but in January ordered two pairs and again only received one. I have just finished the third call to customer services where English is certainly not the first language (how convenient Ideal World!). First call was "wait a few more days" - second call "they have already been despatched" - no they hadn't !- third call guy decides to order them again - we shall see if they appear this time but I will never order from these people again. It costs too much to try to put right their mistakes, this one pair of trousers has cost an awful lot more in phone calls than it was worth.
Ordered a halogen oven, using a discount offered to me by their MD. They've ignored the discount. The Indian Customer Service say that the letter is wrong and their UK customer relations people promised to return my call on December 5th and have so far ignored me and my further phone calls.
In fairness to them the item arrived within 6 days. But then failed within 6 weeks of purchase.
I ordered two Mulberry silk duvets for my nieces for Christmas at a cost of £265.97 inc p&p, so not cheap. I received one duvet nine days after placing my order but where was the other one? Nowhere to be seen, so I rang their customer services number to try to find out if it had actually been dispatched.
What do you get when you ring the number for customer services? Another automated wind up, press 1 for a headache, press 2 for a nightmare or press * for The Samaritans because you feel like committing suicide. Then you go on hold and the nice automated voice of a man tells you your call will be answered in two minutes, three minutes go by and the voice again says your call will be answered in two minutes, another three minutes go by and the voice says your call will be answered in one minute, another three minutes go by and the voice says your call will be answered in two minutes, WTF?!! Twelve minutes later, I get through to a customer services advisor who I can only assume is in deepest darkest India and barely has a grasp of the English language. I explain my problem and I am put on hold for another five minutes or so only to be told the duvets were dispatched at the same time but separately. REALLY?! What sort of Mickey Mouse operation is this?
When packed, these duvets are only small and weigh about 1lb, talk about inefficient. Why were they not packed together? I'm surprised they're still in business at all if that's the way they operate, or is it they're making so much money off of people it doesn't matter that they are paying two lots of delivery charges? Anyhow, after being on the phone for twenty two minutes on their 10p-per-minute number, all I’m told is I'll have to wait a few more days to see if they turn up and then have to start this rig moral all over again. It's now been two days so it doesn't look like the other duvet is going to arrive before Christmas.
Please, please, please avoid using Idealworld, you will save yourself a lot of time, money and stress if you take your business elsewhere.
