I bought an Aigos watch from them little did they say on the tv programme that it should be worn on the arm that you are used to more as it self movement also the strap was a mesh wire this has broken in parts whiich wasnt a huge problem as i used plyers to blend that down so the clasp coud fit i know i should have but i couldnt be bothered to send back as i though i fixed. However with the self movement i have now realised that you have to an olympic athlete to keep it going taking it off at night is a no no. it might stop.
So i thought i would return i checked the website on the warrranty card it doesnt exist anymore . I am either very unlucky or this company was not held as an established watch maker and i was just conned on the look of it . too be honest manufacture wise i think i could have bought a better watch on the street corner as fake
I phoned up got through to a foreign centre again which is another annoying thing as you have to repeat everything or talk slowly and costs be 10p per minute
sorry but never again with ideal they seem to be selling discontinued items that go out of stock allowing you not to lave a true review.
Bought a Bissell carpet cleaner which came with a 'free' vacuum.
The drive belt on the vac stopped on the third time of using and the wheel fell off. Rang up to enquire about how to exchange it for a replacement and was told to wrap it back up include a letter saying if I wanted a refund or replacement and it would be collected on specific date.
Note written for replacement, wrapped and ready for collection. No one collected it till two days later.
A week after another man came to collect it again.
A week after this I get a letter from Ideal World saying they have issued a full refund 'as requested'.
Now got very dirty carpets and plenty of dust.
my next neigbour sent a new scratched and faulty GO TABLET back to IDEtAL WORLD on 4th of April 2013 andhave contacted them on several occassions and they say that the usb cables are missing which i know was in the parcel complete this has beenEE paid for and no correspondence from them mynext door nieghbours name is Mr John Haley 23 Sneddon Court Kelty Fife
I ordered a crafting machine and related pieces from Create and Craft. (My first purchase)
After a week I still had not received I parcel, went only to my despatch email from Ideal World and followed tracking link, on the Hermes website it stated that item was DAMAGED -
I contacted the overseas customer service call centre (a nightmare ). I asked why I was not informed about this. Advisor said he would chase up.. Heard nothing more until next morning when courier arrived with same said parcel. I could not believe how parcel was packaged, a little Sellotape and no internal protective packaging, items missing where one side of box completely non existent.
Again phoned customer services India and was told item would be collected , I was told to state clearly in a letter the condition of parcel and whether I wanted refund or replacement. I also asked that the letter should be brought to attention of their Quality Control, as I could not believe that a parcel could be sent out to a customer in such a poorly packed state. Even box was too small for contents.
Arranged for a collection of the item as not sure if the goods were damaged in transit and arranged for replacement. Still frustratingly heard nothing, ponied uk telephone number yesterday, girl said she would look Ito this and apologised. Again heard nothing.
This morning received an email regarding a refund that had been made (not the full amount). I wanted a replacement not a refund, but it seems it is the customer who has to do all the chasing.. I have shopped many times with qvc where the customer service is excellent, free telephone numbers with fantastic advisors all based in UK.
I cannot see how this company can be allowed to trade when it it so hard to get hold of anyone to make a complaint. All emails I have sent have gone unanswered. I did though recieive an email asking me to rate item and service Ha. Cheek.! I attempted to fill I n, then at the bottom said this would not be published.
Two attempts to get a pressure washer delivered quickly. Never believe the time scales the presenters quote - complete rubbish. The first time I actually had to apply to the small claims court as the item never arrived at all. They refunded at the last minute before the court processed my application. Stupidly have tried again as the price was good and surprise surprise the item has not been dispatched when promised. Deliberately keep you waiting on the premium rate phone line which gives them a profit and then the indians just block any attempt to cancel an order. The man who regularly represents Karcher should research their real delivery timescales before quoting inaccurate timescales on TV.
A couple of years ago I ordered 5 or 6 pairs of my favorite trousers - which don't seem to be available anywhere else - and only received one pair, it took months before that mess was sorted out. I knew it was a mistake - but in January ordered two pairs and again only received one. I have just finished the third call to customer services where English is certainly not the first language (how convenient Ideal World!). First call was "wait a few more days" - second call "they have already been despatched" - no they hadn't !- third call guy decides to order them again - we shall see if they appear this time but I will never order from these people again. It costs too much to try to put right their mistakes, this one pair of trousers has cost an awful lot more in phone calls than it was worth.
Ordered a halogen oven, using a discount offered to me by their MD. They've ignored the discount. The Indian Customer Service say that the letter is wrong and their UK customer relations people promised to return my call on December 5th and have so far ignored me and my further phone calls.
In fairness to them the item arrived within 6 days. But then failed within 6 weeks of purchase.
I ordered two Mulberry silk duvets for my nieces for Christmas at a cost of £265.97 inc p&p, so not cheap. I received one duvet nine days after placing my order but where was the other one? Nowhere to be seen, so I rang their customer services number to try to find out if it had actually been dispatched.
What do you get when you ring the number for customer services? Another automated wind up, press 1 for a headache, press 2 for a nightmare or press * for The Samaritans because you feel like committing suicide. Then you go on hold and the nice automated voice of a man tells you your call will be answered in two minutes, three minutes go by and the voice again says your call will be answered in two minutes, another three minutes go by and the voice says your call will be answered in one minute, another three minutes go by and the voice says your call will be answered in two minutes, WTF?!! Twelve minutes later, I get through to a customer services advisor who I can only assume is in deepest darkest India and barely has a grasp of the English language. I explain my problem and I am put on hold for another five minutes or so only to be told the duvets were dispatched at the same time but separately. REALLY?! What sort of Mickey Mouse operation is this?
When packed, these duvets are only small and weigh about 1lb, talk about inefficient. Why were they not packed together? I'm surprised they're still in business at all if that's the way they operate, or is it they're making so much money off of people it doesn't matter that they are paying two lots of delivery charges? Anyhow, after being on the phone for twenty two minutes on their 10p-per-minute number, all I’m told is I'll have to wait a few more days to see if they turn up and then have to start this rig moral all over again. It's now been two days so it doesn't look like the other duvet is going to arrive before Christmas.
Please, please, please avoid using Idealworld, you will save yourself a lot of time, money and stress if you take your business elsewhere.
This has to be the most appalling company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I bought a tablet from them which malfunctioned within a week. I waited 20 minutes on customer services at 10p per minute only to be told it wasn't their problem and that I should contact the manufacturer. They sent a TF card upgrade which only made matters worse. Another £2.00 on customer services, and now I may or may not get my money back. It was a christmas present which will obviously not be there now.
I wonder if the sweet as light presenters are aware of the shocking customer service they are attempting to sell us, with most operators barely having a grasp of rudimentary English. I became blue in the face constantly having to repeat myself and in turn asking them to repeat themselves. It took 3 separate phone calls just to get my email address understood.
A homeshoppers nightmare definitely to be avoided.
Very poor indeed.
Having seen so many negative reviews for this company i thought i would add my own...very positive one! I have recently made two large purchases from them and found their service to be excellent. Contact was good and informative and my items arrived promptly well packaged, as described and undamaged. In both cases my purchases were not only well priced, but had extras included that you would not always get elsewhere without paying extra for them. Well done and thank you Idealworld.I would definately shop with you in the future.
Hi, Gareth, Clare Perkins tells me she will not be in her office from 16th July until 23rd MAY I know you have only recently been dealing with resolving this problem, but I have been dealing with this problem for 10 weeks which will click over to 11weeks come 2nd August, collection of the McCulloch grass trimmer and multi tool attachments chain pruner, bush cutter, and hedge trimmer, aweek last Friday. 2 weeks this Friday 20th of August, hoping this is resolved in the very near future. Yours Sincerely Chris Jones
I ordered with the promise of a christmas delivery. The item arrived with parts missing and a broken handle. Despite trying to speak with them I am still waiting for item to be collected and refund returned. The worst customer service department I have ever had the missfortune to contact, as their agents do not understand basic english which make communication very difficult.
Never will I return to this company
Have now purchased several times from Ideal World and have received excellent service each time. Speedy delivery, adequatly packaged. If there was one area that had room for improvement, it would have to be the P&P as this is quite high especailly for smaller items. But no complaint what so ever with any products purchased :-)
I bought a garden multi tool 6 weeks ago and it become faulty after a week and I am still waiting for them to collect the item.
I also waited 4 weeks to get one item refunded.
Sad that the company has gone this way, I have bought many items that have been great, but when things go wrong it seems that they do not care.
Once they have our money and can string us on as much as they like just waiting for the customer to give up and go away.
Companies in this country just do not care about good customer any more.
Promised I would not buy from them again after the shambles I experienced with support over a pressure washer (no tracking info, developed fault within 2 weeks, long wait times on phone).
However I was credited £20.00 *goodwill* and decided to buy a guitar "wizard".
Have not used it yet but was disappointed with it initially (photocopied instructions, items just appeard to be *thrown* into an a4 envelope.
Also postage charges are way too high !
APPALLING; I ordered a duvet for my Mum on 3rd December that had not arrived by the 17th December: I contacted customer services who (after waiting for over 20 minutes for a response) advised me a claim form would be sent to my email account and also in the post. Two further attempts had the same result. The last contact was Friday 7th when a "Senior Manager" promised a form would be in the post & email. It's now 11th January and still nothing. I have spent hours on the 'phone (@ 20p/minute) and have sent copious emails: all I get is an automated reply saying someone would call me. Their web page says they endeavour to "call within 24 hours" (of when?) Their fax numbers do not work. I sent emails from work and again, an automated reply : this time adressed to someone with a completely different name. In desperation I'm sending a recorded delivery letter to their Head Office. I have copied in my last email to Watchdog in the hope someone there will get a better result. I will be claiming a full refund of c£40 plus interest, plus the cost of all my calls which probably total over £10 by now. Do you have a problem with these people? If you do, don't bother with customer services - they don't bother about you. Watch this space . . . I hope this helps others in a similar position.
