I am surprised by the negative comments made by reviewers. I have nothing but praise for Jacamo. Great products, delivery service is excellent, and the telephonists are very helpful. Maybe some of the reviewers should get out more, or at least try other companies and how they work. Then they will realise just how good Jacamo is
Never will i ever use this company again, constant phone calls, accusations of non payment, accused me of lying as i have never received bills from them, never been able to log in to my account from day 1 despite numerous calls to the company to correct it?
Have paid in full my debt with them in November, they are saying they have not received the payment which is a few hundred pounds yet when traced was found lying in the account they supplied?
Have had letters sent threatening debt collectors visiting my house and when i have called to speak to letter sender they dont even know who the person is on the letter?
Automated calls to my house which have been picked up and confirmed it is me only to get through to person on the end of the phone who cant get my details and will call me back, but never has?
Please for your own benefit do not use this company something extremely unsavoury about them, its the sort of company Esther Rantzen used to report on.
i have been ordering from jacamo website for over 2 years now.... have never had a problem with anything, delivery, stock, you name it.
the quality of their in-house brand is not the best, but it is very cheap. Dearer stuff is designer clothing, good quality and looks awesome. I am 6' 8" and 27st in weight, so trust me, there is no so much choice out there for guys like me. I am grateful to Jacamo for being there for us.
I've just tried the 3rd time to buy jeans from Jacamo.
If you enter size details (waist, length, fit etc) it only offers 2 types of jeans, 1 type cheap (probably their own brand) the other dear.
I call them yesterday to query this, but their system was down, again. The telesales girl was unhelpful.
I bought the cheap pair and that was a real chore, how many screens do you need?
I get the impression that this mob are just rip off merchants.
My advice, go somewhere else.
I'm a big chap (38inch waist) so I thought I'd give Jacamo a go. I called their 0800 number to ask for a catalogue, after giving all my details the lady at the other end went quiet for ages. After a while I said "hello". She said, "please hold on, I'm just doing a credit check". "WHAT?, Why" I asked, I didn't want credit. She said they do a credit check regardless. I explained that I didn't want that and left it at that. She was going to perform a credit check without my permission.
A few weeks later my wife tells me she has ordered me some jeans from them, it turns out Jacamo is not a company in itself but is run by a company who have 26 catalogues and my wife already had an account.
Jacamo do next day delivery as standard so I waited to see what my wife had chosen. Nothing arrived, no biggie, I'd wait until the next day, nothing arrived and my wife recieved an email from Jacamo out of the blue saying delivery would be 3 working days. Odd but no fuss, they'd be here the next day. Nothing arrived. At this point I called Jacamo. I found out the reason it was 3 working days was because my wife had used this other account and that the 3 days starts from 2 days after the order??? (clearly bull but Ho hum) the order would be here the day after. Nothing arrived.
I called Jacamo again a week after the order. I spoke to a manager who assured me the order was coming that day and that she would call me tomorrow to check it had arrived. Nothing arrived. I waited for the promised call back but it didn't happen. The next day I called again, I was told that as a gesture of good will the order would be there by Thursday. I was dismayed that they would use the expression "gesture of good will" to describe offering to deliver the order 8 days late.
Thursday came and went and nothing arrived. I called Jacamo again and was told that the service reconciliation team would call me strait back. Half an hour later I called again, at which time I was told they would call but it would be within 48 hours.
On Saturday my wife called Jacamo again and was told the same team would call her back on Monday, now they have promised to call us both. You won't be surprised at this point to learn they called neither of us.
My wife called Jacamo again (yesterday) and they said they would send the order again for next day delivery. Today I called Jacamo to enquire as to why they did not call me as promised, they couldn't tell me but promised me the service reconciliation team would call me back.
A short while ago my Jacamo order arrived. One of the pairs of jeans fits fine but I don't like them. The other 2 pairs, however, are a good 6 inches to small at the waist and are obviously mislabeled. Now I have to go to the trouble of taking the package to the post office and returning them.
A few hours later they turned up again with another parcel containing the same items. I explained to the lady at the door, in a polite tone, "I'm not sure we actually want this". The response was "You ordered it" snapped back at me. At this point I said "no, we ordered it over two weeks ago and we really don't want it" and handed it back to her. She had the cheek to tell me off for being rude.
Further to all this, Jacamo have a freephone number, but only for ordering their catalogue, after that it is 0871 only (10p per minute) and a lot more from a mobile. They go to great lengths to make sure you call this number and the geographic equivelent (got from saynoto0870.com) has a recorded message telling you to call the expensive number. Their staff seem very apt at taking things slowly. At £6 an hour to phone them they are probably employing their staff at a profit.
This firm seems to me to be a con and nothing more. I suggest giving them a wide birth.
I posted this as a conversation point on the Gibson guitar forum http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/75431-jacamo-catalogue-a-word-of-warning/ (yes it's a very chatty and off topic forum) and someone suggested I post it here too.
I placed my order (for my partners birthday) on the 1st of October. It's now the 16th and his birthday has been and gone and still no sign of my order. I have contacted Jacamo numerous times over this order only to be told they will send me out a letter for me to sign and send back to them conforming the parcel hasn't been delivered. Strangely, they say the delivery days and times aren't always accurate and I should allow 10 days from placing my order. It certainly doesn't mention this on their website! I would love to know who is running this Mickey Mouse operation.
I placed order for "next day delivery" on the 27th of September. As I placed it late due 29th chased it twice promised it 30th chased twice didn't show and they couldn't call courier called saturday twice to be told nowt they could do. Asked for manager callback, meant to be in 48 hours still not had it though their system shows he has called. Not me he hasn't. Impossible in this day and age for a company to be this bad at customer service and makes a mockery of tv advert! Shame as idea is great. Spend less money on Vegas and Freddie and more on customer service!!!,!
I am currently taking legal action against their parent company (Sander and Kay Limited) for breach of contract / terms and conditions.
Would not recommend this company to anybody. A complete rip off and appalling level of customer service.
Every order I place I seem to have to return something because the item is faulty, sized incorrectly or not as advertised. Customer service staff are not too clever by the responses I get, they appear to fail at the basics of reading an email.
Additionally, when I item is exchanged, they automatically add £3.99 p&p again and every time I have to email and ask them to refund it - getting very tiresome!
Good Joe Browns range and £3.99 next day delivery is great value.
i orderd items 1st december still not her as of 15th dec reported missing told they have been signed for so i am lieing. told me if i no pay will call police. there courier stole itewm i got pay so i am buying his x-mas present.
no way take me to court i wil sue your ass
Company advised 3-5 days delivery, then delivered to wrong address, now parcel is missing, they refuse to re-imburse my card. Everyone I speak to at customer service is reading from a script - likewise with emails. Definately wont be using any part of the N Brown/JD Williams group of companies again.
