Tops on Efficiency and quality !!
I ordered a clock golf set for a Christmas present. I was rather late , as I had been so busy at work. Jaques tracked my order, and the goods arrived promptly... taking any stress out of my Christmas shopping. A fantastic service !
The quality of the goods is also excellent. I would recommend the company to anyone.

Incomplete product
I ordered a set of 'Tiddly Winks in a Wooden Box', and only the wooden box arrived - with neither the tiddly winks nor the wooden catching pot.
However, when I called Jaques to point this out, the service over the telephone was very good, and I expect to receive the missing goods imminently. I would still not hesitate to recommend them as a company, but it is nonetheless a shame for such a basic error to have taken place.

Games to amuse all the family
Prompt dispatch of two bagatelle and one football games. Excellent offer 3 for 2. Both families loved their gifts and have had lots of fun with them. Both games can be played by adults and children of all ages and really bring out the competitive spirit particularly, when he seven year old beats older siblings and adults. The quality of the boards is excellent and I have no doubt they will become heirlooms. We gave the bagatelle boards to the two fathers and would expect that one day they will be playing with their grandchildren. All in all, amongst our best and most appreciated present choices!

Quality bridge set
I ordered a bridge set for my mother for Christmas. Even though I ordered the set late in the day it arrived the next day and was a high quality set. Would highly recommend this site and will use again.

late delivery / one missing black pawn / very nice pieces
The delivery to France took a very long time, since it was a Christmas present, it missed the cut, which is sad.
Add to this that one black pawn was missing with the set. I did contact Jaques today, waiting for them to send this missing piece.
This being said, the set is very nice.
Update on January 17th : I did receive the missing pawn two days ago. Set now complete.

nice product (lousy service) now great service
I ordered a chess set a couple or weeks before Christmas. The courier company had such problems trying to deliver that we ended up going to collect. I then discovered that Jaques had completely garbled the delivery address on the package, despite having my correct address on the invoice. I tried to contact them twice on their customer feedback e-mail address, only to have my e-mail bounced back both times. I also wrote to complain and ask for an explanation via their website but have had no reply. Fortunately i am happy with the chess set - but their customer service appears to be spectacularly poor.
Revised on 26 Jan: Jaques got in touch with me after seeing this and Lisa Howard has been very generous in making amends for my poor experience so I would now say their service is excellent but they were let down by their web site e-mail link over Christmas

Disappointment,as product found broken inside two unbroken boxes so Christmas present for children unable to be given.
How disappointing to receive broken toy specially paid for to be delivered by Christmas. Two boxes housing toy unmarked but internal box and toy both damaged which would suggest toy already damaged when packed. Offices shut by time delivered so not able to get replacement.

Nobody answered my phone call at 5pm on December 19th.
Very mediocre service for a very high price.
I could not get a delivery organised for between Christmas ann New Year. It is like the old days before the intrernet forced retailers to offer decent service.

This company has stood the test of time, excellent service.
Needed to find an interesting present for my husband and only a few days to go before Christmas. No problem my order was processed and arrived within 48 hours. Amazing!! Also an added bonus was that the literature enclosed describing jaques history brought back happy memories of the happy family card game I played as a child. I still have the pack of cards but sadly it is incomplete.

Very swift delivery and well packed.
Bagatelle was a delight. The only reservation is we are afraid the pull will break, and occasionally a ball becomes lodged between the pull and the side of the run, and then does not run when pulled. It is easily dislodged by a small finger pushed into the side. Otherwise exactly as we expected, a handsome game.

My Bag a Telle is the talk of the town
I ordered thinking that it would be delivered well after Christmas and to my surprise 7 - 10 working days turned out to be 72 hour delivery. My Son-in-Law took one look and said "Haven't played that in ages - just right for Christmas." So it will be used at Christmas and New Year then for local Medieval Fayres where I am sure it will pay for itself quickly. Exactly what I wanted and practice makes perfect.

Sourcing of all goods ordered being from China was a disappointment
Went to Jaques as based in London and presumed that goods sold would include
many goods made in U.K. All made in China (3). Delivery was excellent, and items
seam well made.

Very quick and efficient service!
I was very impressed with the courteousness of the agent when I telephoned to check availability. The ordering process was reasonably swift - it will be quicker next time as I've now a registration. My telephone call was met with charm and the following action was truly efficient
Two of my grandsons had set their hearts on what grandparents Xmas gifts should be I found Jaques website and ordered the products hassle free. The parcel arrived in a very short time well packed We are truly delighted with our purchase and eagerly await the boys reaction on Xmas day. All good apart from products which I found disappointingly poor quality.
Order swiftly dealt with and communication good but very disappointed with the qulaity of the product. Wood finish was very poor and wish I had bought alternative products from aother sources.

Shove'halfpenny for Xmas thanks to Jaques!!
I was delighted to find that I could get some coins for my board which is about 80 years old and belonged to my dad. How Games Used To Be
I have now used Jaques of London several times recently and found the quality and construction of the purchased games to be really first class. You feel that you have bought a product that is made to standards of quality that we rarely see today.

Disappointing quality
I am in my seventies and was brought up with a Bagatelle, probably a Jaques, made I think from mahogany. I have just bought a Jaques 'grand' Bagatelle for my grandsons' Christmas present. I see that it was made in China. The wood is of course not mahogany and the surround appears to be bent plywood. The varnish finish is coarse and the gold numbering transfers faint, in several places applied crooked. The spring loaded knob is far too strong with a short length of travel - a combination that makes it difficult for the player to use any skill. The cue type pusher that I remember of old would be much better. The cardboard box is handsome but unfortunately the word 'supplied' is spelled wrong, giving a very negative first impression.

Great game but rubbish quality of the board itself.
We ordered Bagatelle on the web from Jaques (manufacturer of all sorts of lovely family games, kinda heirlooms, etc.). Arrived in good time, easy to order, lovely packaging, great game to play BUT the build quality of this is really not what one expects from a £70 game from such a name as Jaques. The whole family (inc a few friends who popped round) commented on this. The packaging was great English standards whilst the board itself was very much not. I will be sending this back to Jaques with a list of the defects - there are five specific ones and one does not really expect any at all in a relatively simple setup such as this..... They say on the box made in China and quality checked in England - quality must have been asleep that day.

Great quality, fantastic service!
I ordered some wooden puzzles for my (grown-up, but still a kid, really!) son. Pleasantly surprised to get a buy two, get one free deal and opted for the free Royal Mail delivery. The web site said it'd be ten days, but they actually arrived just four days later - brilliant! - and they were really well packaged. They look really great in the Jaques packs, too - gifts I know my son will be really pleased with, and which I know will keep him - and his kids - amused for a long, long time!! Thanks, Jaques - I'll definitely be back!

Brilliant Service
