I have been a user of Just Eat since 2009 and experienced many problems when ordering with just eat however my problems had never been their fault. For example, last week I placed an order for a chinese and was given 50 minutes. 70 minutes later I telephoned the restaurant to find out the eta of my takeaway. They said that they had no receipt of my order (at this point I double checked I telephoned the correct restaurant). I was then forced to try and contact Just Eat. They advised me that the restaurant had accepted the order (which i believe as I know how simple the terminal servers work). I was then advised that my refund would take up 3 days to clear. A refund taking 3 days to clear from this type of transaction is perfectly normal. I do not understand why people continue to post negatve comments about the refund process! Just Eat have fantastic customer service, their website design and its user experience is brilliant.
All in all most faults that Just Eat experience are becuase of user error from the restaurant staff. Restaurants quickly jump to the idea of gaining ore business by being on Just Eat but give little consideration on whether their business can effectively handle the extra custom.
Hello I am never ever gonna orde from Just eat again bad customer service demanding money and try blaming it on the restaurant or takeaway I am getting from discussed and this will be reported and the last time I will ever order from just eat again and I will be letting everyone know how discussing the customer service is
I recently ordered a meal through the just eat website. Order placed and apparently accepted by the restaurant. I received a call approx 15 mins later to say there was a problem at the restaurant and no payment would be charged to my card. However, the refund would take some days to go through. I was offered a voucher to the value of the order so as to place my order elsewhere. An hour and a half later and after a few chats on "livechat" I'm still waiting for the so called supervisor to send the voucher. Their first email came through within a matter of minutes of a problem with the order failing. Seems awfully strange how an email with a refund voucher has still not arrived. I am a disabled person and have some pretty bad days when I am unable to cook or get out to the shops so use the Just eat website as a convenience. If they are unable to provide a service when things go wrong, they should not operate. A restaurant cannot take an order but payment goes through, why are they unable to make an immediate refund or provide the promised vouchers as promised without delay? If by chance a voucher does land in my inbox, which I seriously doubt after all this time, I will have no choice but to use it, but I guarantee it will be THE LAST TIME I ever deal with this shody company. If you have an alternative, I suggest you use it.
A few reviews down is a complaint about one such `resturant` which is non existant yet about 5 different stores on just eat are all listed from that adress. the just - eat representitive replied with a link to watchdog report from a year ago saying theyve tightened up on it, which is hogwash, when i was in newcastle a few months ago i saw one store with the exact menu/price in 11 locations, and it definatly was the same menu. ive seen adresses with multiple stores registered at them, like multiple, and you ring the store and even the name they answer with is not the same as on just-eat.
However, the worst is their nasty system, where they take your money when you make the order REGARDLESS of if the shop accepts or not. Now i know, ive read many times the just-eat rep go on and on, about the `ring fence around the money and it will come back into your account and they cant do anything about it, and its the fastest way blah blah`, but guess what you do NOT have to do it that way.
A simple feature to inform the resturant an order will be coming through from this post code adress will it preliminary accept it? and if it says `yes accepting order` then go on ahead take the payment and send the persons order.
I know ill get a generic reply from a just-eat salesperson saying `yes well take the suggestion on board` but trust me, this issue has been occuring since they first became big in the uk several years ago, they must have screwed hundreds of thousands of pounds from cancelled orders out of people over the years.
Also their `discount voucher` that they offer to shut up disgruntled customers, is not actual credit, you STILL have to make the ENTIRE PAYMENT from your own money in your bank account, and then a few days later the credit amount comes back into your back account
Their advertising `dont cook just eat` and their ridiculous emails of `thank you for not cooking,` and their ridiculous adverts where chefs are `angry that people are cooking`, whilst just-eat can argue its light hearted humour, they are clearly trying to install an acceptable takeaway culture where people order takeaways every day and in this day and age of health problems and obesity it is a terrible image to portray, i dont know why more people dont complain about it.
Everything i have said is the truth, this company hides behind it with their glossy ads, and try to pull the wool over your eye with fake reviews, this is a despicable company
Got order from a shop in 8 Wellington Street Gateshead, NE8 and food was RUBBISH and it went straight into bin. I was looking for this shop on the street a day after but I couldn't find it. As soon as I came back I looked on the internet to see if I was wrong, but would you guess what did I find out? There were FIVE DIFFERENT NAME which been registered in a SAME ADDRESS. I was in shock and I called just eat. They said "we'll contact the shop and will call you back". Apparently, they were saying they're NOT allowed to put more than ONE sign up!!!!!!! Then, I asked do you check the shops before being register with just eat and how do you trust them if there is no shop. All he said was " you are right" and at the end he said he'll chase it up but it's been a week and there is no change. SO please be CAREFULL with these kind of shops which you don't know where the food has been made. I trusted just eat because I thought they are doing a right job but... I'll NEVER EVER trust just eat again with a poor customer service.

My business is based on a busy high street, and like everyone else we signed up to become a just eat partner over 2 years ago. An experience that was painful in itself due to the rudeness of the man who installed the order machine. But last night we felt the true effects of what happens when large corporations like this gain power over small businesses. Without any notice and without reason our business was taken offline and when we contacted just eat to ask why? the person in charge said that the people who had taken our business offline had gone home for the day and there was nothing he can do. So what happens to all our regular customers who order from us via just eat every wednesday and what will happen to all of our repeat business. this type of behaviour is disgusting we did not recieve any notification of termination of our contract or reasons as to why our circumstances had changed we were fortunate to check the site as the staff had noticed we were unreasonably quiet. Well i have no alternative but to seek legal advice and i feel sorry for any other business put in this situation by just eat and i will also now need to look at other sites that offer the same service as just eat and check to see what protection small business like ours have. How can they literally decide without justification to stop advertising our business.
Very very poor i intend to take this matter further and will warn anyone from signing up with just eat!!!
First of all, for a supposed 'tech' company, the site's UX is terrible, Often the basket doesn't update immediately so it's easy to inadvertently add an item twice. Moreover, I had a problem with a restaurant delivering late. The food was cold and inedible. It took 62 emails to sort the problem out. 62! I was only sheer tenacity on my part it got sorted at all. I was on chat with them for over an hour and was given the wrong information from one of their agents.
Today i used just eat for the first and definatly the last time. Such a shame as a few friends have recommended them. but after todays events we have all decided to abandon just eat all together. Firstly we searched for local restaurants in the area the results appeared, supposedly showing just eat for local restaurants in my delivery area. happily we ordered but then it was quickly rejected ok next restaurant then. But then we recieved a phone call from the just eat phone operater explaining that the money was unable to be used for 3-5 days. i said this was not on the shirty phone operator told me that it was in the terms and conditions and i politely enquired why such an important piece of information was not shown clearly in the process of ordering such as a notice that comes up to let customers know the main reply i got was 'this call is being recorded' what has that got to do with anything please record all away show the recording to trading standards while i correspond with them which i am perfectly in my rights to do. After my phone call with 'recorder guy' i then went back on the website in a tiny left hand corner writing was writing t&c surely it should in any case be written in the fulll ''terms and conditions? it should be displayed better so i did not have to spend 5 minutes finding it and in any case such important information should be displayed clearly whilst ordering.... but then would people use the service. Very Very annoyed.
I have been reading so many negative reviews from many different people from around the area, but then again, so many people with better things to say as well. I am a business owner, and to be honest, without JUST-Eat i dont know where i would be. I notice some complaints about Just Eat, and All the problems that have appeared, are not JUST EAT problems. They are doing things by the books. The only time that just eat will have a problem, is when the whole system crashes online but everything else is the business that has the control over your order. Thumbs up to Just Eat for what they have done and brought to you all. they have done something that is so amazing for anyone that dont like to talk over the phone.
From Newcastle upon Tyne.I never trust just eat reviews because same restaurants write their reviews themselves.(Please check these restaurants and time on the website from just eat) Pizzaholic (288 Chillingham Road, Heaton NE6 5LQ) Reviews of Pizzaholic Mr Ben has given reviews 9 times rating it 6 star 03/10/2013 6 star 18/09/2013 6 star 03/08/2013 6 star 19/07/2013 6 star 15/07/2013 6 star 21/06/2013 6 star 12/06/2013 6 star 04/05/2013 6 star 22/03/2013 6 star Mrs Tara has given reviews 5 times rating it 6 star 04/09/2013 6 star 22/08/2013 6 star 28/06/2013 6 star 10/06/2013 6 star 10/05/2013 6 star Mrs Lisa has given reviews 4 times rating it 6 star 15/12/2013 6 star 06/12/2013 6 star 15/02/2013 6 star 29/11/2012 6 star Mr Kim has given reviews 3 times rating it 6 star 18/02/2013 6 star 13/06/2013 6 star 10/05/2013 6 star ____________________________________________________ Anglo Adana Pizza & Kebab 29 Heaton Road, Heaton Customer reviews of Anglo Adana Pizza & Kebab Mrs Lisa has given reviews 6 times rating it 6 star 21/12/2013 6 star 19/12/2013 6 star 05/12/2013 6 star 02/12/2013 6 star 14/11/2013 6 star 28/10/2013 6 star Mr Craig has given reviews 6 times rating it 6 star 08/11/2013 6 star 18/09/2013 6 star 07/11/2013 6 star 06/11/2013 6 star 31/10/2013 6 star 28/10/2013 6 star 27/10/2013 6 star Mr Enes has given reviews 1 time (he is working Anglo Adana Pizza & Kebab) 12/11/2013 ________________________________________________________ Uni Pizza 824 Shields Road, Walker NE6 4Q Customer reviews of Uni Pizza Mr Zag has given reviews 5 times rating it 6 star 30/06/2013 6 star 29/06/2013 6 star 29/06/2013 6 star 28/06/2013 6 star 20/06/2013 6 star Mr Michail has given reviews 10 times rating it 6 star 10/10/2012 6 star 09/12/2012 6 star 30/09/2012 6 star (same day 3 times) 30/09/2012 6 star (same day 3 times) 30/09/2012 6 star (same day 3 times) 26/09/2012 6 star 21/09/2012 6 star 25/08/2012 6 star 11/06/2012 6 star 09/06/2012 6 star Mr Ilhan has given reviews 2 times (he is the owner of Uni pizza and pizzaholic) 19/04/2012 6 star 19/03/2012 6 star
Please double check all restaurants, make sure that no one writes their own reviews again and give them a warning.
I trusted the reviews on the Just-Eat website and ordered a pizza. It took over 2 hours to get my food, it was cold, wasnt event cooked properly! I rated with "1" as they reserved.
Next day, I received a VM from Just-Eat with an offer of %30 discount in return to remove my review! I didnt have time to get back to them to say YES or NO, BUT my review/rating was removed anyway!!! I was so pissed off as I trusted the ratings to choose that pizza place, and it was such a big dissapoinment. On the top of that, when I see my review was removed next day without my permission, it apperantly proved how that pizza place have a good review overall. Just-Eat removes the poor ratings and that's it, can you believe that?
After I ask them to put my review back, they did it. It is now on the website. However, it has been more than 2 weeks and they still didnt get back to me with a reply why my review was removed without my permission. I connected to Just-Eat live chat again to ask whats going on but they even have a clue about it.
What I understand from here is, they don't respect your comments/ratings! So, dont't trust that misleading and untrustworthy comments or ratings on Just-Eat. I am so dissapointed, I still don't have an answer and not willing to use their service again.
Never had a problem through Just Eat - always works fine. Sometimes the orders are incorrect but that's the fault of the takeaway itself for being careless and not reading orders properly.
If you don't get what you ordered, it's the fault of the restaurant and not Just Eat. Just Eat is just an online directory.
As an analogy; If you use the Yellow Pages to find a plumber and the plumber is rubbish- that's not Yellow Pages's fault. You don't then start slagging off the Yellow Pages, you slag of the plumber who did the work. The same applies to Just Eat; if you buy a takeaway through Just Eat and that takeaway is rubbish, it's not Just Eat's fault. They've done their work by relaying your order, which is all that's required of them.
People on here are saying that the food takes too long to come. Surely that's the takeaways fault for coming late and not yours'. I have used this service for a while now, and it makes ordering much easier and all my takeaways have came on time. The only thing I could suggest for improvement is more takeaways sign up to this as it will make it even better. Still......website is layed out brilliantly and food being bad or late is clearly not your fault as you simply make the communication between restaurants and people easier
What a waste of hard earned money! Avoid at all costs. We ordered 3 pizza's which actually arrived as ordered but were nothing special. Could have got something similar out if the freezer at the supermarket. We also ordered onion rings, wedges and jalapeño cream cheese. The onion rings didn't turn up at all; the wedges turned into chips and here's the clincher!...the jalapeños cream cheese; which we visualised as those delicious strips of jalapeños topped with cream cheese fried in bread crumbs - well they turned up as a full box of chopped up pieces of jalapeño with a little bit of melted mozzarella on top! Absolute joke! The customer service was non-existent when we complained and apparently we should have been grateful for the 'mega chips' instead of the wedges! They were very rude and explained they did not have what we ordered. Erm...might have been an idea to ring and tell us so we could sample some of your other delights. Avoid!
Take away confirmed the order had never been received after 50 mins of waiting. Apparently the same happened to another lady who used Just Eat this evening. Deleted the app & will never use again. If you have to ring the takeaway to check if the order has been received you may as well order by phone! Terrible.
Well I ordered a very nice kebab and forgot to write that the driver should phone me so I went to the live chat and spoke to martin which was very helpful and he contacted the take way on my behalf, deffinetly will use there services again.
Signed up a few weeks ago to try out! Done my first order and takeaway rang to comfirm as it was my first order (great first time!) Ordered again to same takeaway and was given a order number and estimated time of delivery. 1.30hr mins later, still no food......rang up and they didnt even recieve an order!!!! Disapointed!
