I received an email yesterday asking me to review Just-Eat to win a £25 voucher. First off I'd like to say that they e-mail they sent was full of mistakes. 1. They didn't write it properly they put "(our our smartphone app!)". 2. The link that says LEAVE YOUR REVIEW doesn't take me anywhere, I had to type in trustpilot just-eat to get to this page manually (via a search engine)
I have been a customer with just-eat for a number of years now, I have opened accounts and then closed them to prevent me from ordering takeaways. Because it's just so easy to order stuff, it almost becomes second nature. The site keeps you logged in, you can call up your local takeaways with a few clicks and then order.
I must admit it can become very habit forming, I must log in to the website at least once a day to see what tempts me. One thing that could use some improvement is the review system. I don't know about some people but I order a lot of takeaways and when it comes to leaving reviews on older orders that I've forgotten about. I have to click the "Leave a review" link next to every order to check, there isn't a little tick box or an indicator next to the order that tells the customer that they've left a review. That's something that could really be useful in making improvements to the website.
I have noticed that there isn't a search box on the menu's to search for specific items, I could even expand that idea along the lines of a search box on the restaurant screen. I know you can select a restaurant type and filter it by Distance or User rating etc, but if your just after a specific dish or something. It might be a great idea to be able to just type in what you want and it comes up with the restaurants that serve that dish. Like I could type in "Chicken Korma" and it would come up with all the restaurants names, user rating, the price of the dish and minimum order.
Then I could make an informed decision instead of spending like an hour looking through a few dozen menus to see if they have what I want, make things even easier for customers I say!
I have installed the mobile app before and have attempted to order, but for some reason when it gets to checking out it just doesn't seem to want to get there. I get a white screen with no progress, so I abandoned using the app in favor of using the website.
I hope my comments have been helpful and thanks for the years of wonderful service.
We had an order rejected from an Indian take away (confirmed by a phone call from Just Eat) and chose to order a similar selection from a different take away who accepted our order. Little did we know that when our food arrived it was from the first take away who had reportedly rejected the order. When the second order arrived we rejected it. The phone call from Just Eat that followed was the point where we decided not to use Just Eat again. We explained the mistake that Just Eat had made and the member of staff responded in a very off manner stating that Just Eat would have to compensate one of the take aways (as they should do seeing as the whole situation was their responsibility). He then hung up abruptly. So in all our experience of Just Eat was pretty dire, especially considering we have had similar issues before. We'll just go directly to the take away in future.
This company are cowboys. Not only did I get charged twice for ordering a Chinese but I then didn't even receive my food. I phoned to speak to someone at Just Eat and got a rude obnoxious man on the other end of the phone who was not in the slightest bit interested in my issue as the 'funds will be put back in 4 days' why would I want MY money back in FOUR days?? If this company is going to take funds then they should be committed to making sure customers actually receive what they ordered.
Horrendous service both online and on the phone. DO NOT USE
I processed and paid for an order of £20. they said when I clicked Pay that there was an error so I processed and paid again.
They took £40 out of my account. It only took numerous talks and finally involving the ombudsmen before they would bother giving £20 back. Their attitude is almost robotic and they simply do not care.
I see also that NUMEROUS other people have had exactly this problem.
Oh and for you ''Gauri'' from Just Eat who has replied, we contacted Just Eat FOUR times regarding this situation and you lot didn't sort it. Why would I want to bother wasting my time again with you thieving little sods? Do you simply apologise and give an email to all the customers you messed about? Which is quite a few on this page....
I've been in touch with them three times due to food being late not arriving on time and cold. Every time I've called their telephone and customer skills are those of a three year old. I ordered two pizza at 5:20pm I was advised by the site food would arrive by 6:10pm at 6:40pm I phone just eat who told me their was a mistake on their website but it just was what is was no one's fault just wait and your pizza will eventually arrive what a joke... enough said.
I've ordered a few times from JustEat (when a say a few, I'm a student with an appetite for take out food!). While there are a few restaurants that turn up a bit later than expected and miss items off, I tend to go for the ones with the best reviews on the JustEat website, and they all seem to be pretty good!
Thank you JustEat for making it so much easier to order food!
I'm coming across many takeaways that are either putting up prices or increasing the delivery charges when you order via Just-Eat. One example is 'Wok Express' in Watford that charge £2 delivery via Just-Eat yet if you order directly from the Chinese Restaurant it's only £1. Now this is just one example I have over 25 others throughout the London and Herts area doing similar scams. Going back to 'Wok Express' in Watford they are making thousands each and every year, by literally breaking their contract with Just-Eat and ripping customers off - it's not fair and it's not right.
Why should customers be penalised just because companies have to pay a little extra for the privilege of getting extra custom. Now Just-Eat need to start coming down on these business owners heavily, they need to recruit more staff to check on these companies before we start losing confidence and stop ordering by Just-Eat.
I have ordered from many restaurants on just eat many times and all the restaurants are useless! Every time I have ordered from different places and each time they forget at least one thing in my order. Also a number of times I have paid with my debit card and I get a call a few minutes later saying there was a mess up with my delivery and the money will be put back into my account in a few days and it never has been! They just steal my money and do not bring the food. They have stolen at least £40 over the few times this has happened. I have tried to call just eat about missing food and drinks and they always say 'we will phone the restaurant and they will bring it to you' but this NEVER happens. I would NOT recommend using just eat.
Recently this has been happening a lot when ordering from just eat, I've made my order and about an hour to two hours later the take away or restaurant have called me saying they have just received my order ect ect... which results in getting my food late or having to argue with the place I order from and this has happened many times on different days of the week and from different places in and out of London. At this rate I don't see myself using just eat ever again!
Had a bad experience with just eat last night when away for the weekend. Had no access to emails so decided to do my homework before leaving home by putting the hotel postcode in where I was staying. Picked out a restaurant with a good hygiene rating and jotted down the phone number. Phoned them about an hour before I wanted to eat only to be told they were over 18 miles away and wouldn't deliver. Found another restaurant picked at random on just eat and sent in an order on my phone app asking them to confirm order by phone as no email. Immediately refused order with no explanation, just a text. Phoned customer services to complain but no use really. Apologised and said he would tell his supervisor. Agreed it was unacceptable when you put in a postcode and restaurants come up which will not deliver. Told me any money paid out would be refunded , I was paying CASH. Told him all I wanted was somewhere that would deliver food. He just kept repeating himself. I have only been in the area twice and don't have a clue where takeaways are which is why I was depending on just eat. Picked out another restaurant at random and sent in another order using my phone app, asked them to confirm the order by phone which they didn't. Googled to find phone number to phone to make sure food would be delivered, they assured me it would be there within an hour. Don't know how far away the restaurant was (passed the village on the way home and it appeared to be some way away) but although the food was delicious it was not very hot. In all it took me over two and a half hours to get food delivered.
Would be nice if any of the companies they used actually delivered on time and with food being warm. Why bother, the reason for cooking at home, you get dinner on time and in a state worth eating. If you want to replace eating at home, try getting the food to the house before it becomes cold!
Have used a couple of times and happy enough. Ive moved house and now only 1 place delivers to my house. Food can take a while to turn up too. Plus points are paying by card and occasional promotions can give you a good discount.
They keep you on hold for 10 mins before answering and are not helpful in rectifying complaints. I was told @leave a review and the restaurant will contact you". I had already spoken to the restaurant, to no avail, and was calling Just Eat as a last resort. Useless! I shall be using Hungry House should I order takeaway online.
To be clear, the staff member was not rude, just USELESS.
Surprised to get a 1 1/2 hr wait for a couple of starters and mains, even more surprised to have to ring up after 2 hrs to be told its just being cooked. Too late to cancel and go elsewhere as you've already paid. Expecting to eat at 19.30 and getting to finally eat at 20.30. In total 2 1/2 hr wait for food. Shocking Service!!
I have been buying food from Smokeys in Parkstone for a couple of months now through Just Eat (food from them is GREAT for the record).. I do buy from them at least twice a week..
Tonight i decided to call them direct instead of going through Just Eat.. to find out that minimum order is £10 for delivery.. when i order through Just Eat, they explain that minimum delivery is £15 & wont let you proceed if the order does not exceed this amount.. then charge 50p for a card transaction.. i have been buying unnecessarily for months & they clearly make commission on bigger orders..
Possibly, I would put this down to not keeping the site up to date enough & not ensuring company & restaurant policies are updated accordingly..
I feel cheated & have wasted a lot of money, will not be using them again.
We wanted to order from a pizza takeaway. They had a deal what is the topical of "to good to be true", it was too cheap for the amount of food we would receive. Of course after we ordered the restaurant rejected our order with a fake reason. Later we heard different reason from them. After contacting Just-eat, they basically refused to do anything about it. with the reply from them: "unfortunately we have no control over the delivery time or quality of the food prepared and whether the order is fulfilled. Unfortunately if an order is cancelled we do not allow customers to leave reviews. I can only offer my sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you. " They just collect our money but don't protect our interest.
I have just had a delivery from a restaurant and have found a live bug in my food to my disgust! I have phoned up both the restaurant and just eat who are both refuse to refund me my money. Just eat has a duty to ensure that all of the businesses they advertise adhere to health and safety regulations which obviously is not happening!! Pure disgrace
