I've had quite a few experiences with Just Eat, and on some of these the food has been delivered on time and was good. However, I'd recommend ordering from highly rated places only, because unfortunately Just Eat does not only pick the best restaurants. This means that there's no guarantee of quality or on time delivery - that all depends on the restaurants themselves. Some of them are very unreliable, and I don't know why Just Eat continues to affiliate with them. Also, Just Eat's contact policies have been a continuing source of frustration. No email confirmation of orders, which means if you navigate away from the order confirmation page you lose the details. Emailing customers about problems with their order is a last resort after calling and voicemail, which is a bit old-fashioned and not as efficient - if you don't have any signal or they leave a voicemail, they will do nothing further to contact you again about your order. On more than one occasion I have been left clueless as to what was happening with my order, and mostly staving hungry as a result. I have not been offered any compensation (discounts, etc) for my trouble, only apologies which frankly seemed uncaring. When I went so far as to say that I would not be using Just Eat again, the reply was "I'm sorry you feel that way." Obviously not bothered about customer satisfaction or maintaining a loyal clientele. Currently I'm sitting around awaiting a delivery that will be around 2 hours late because the restaurant I ordered from didn't have a lunch time delivery driver, so they just cancelled my order. Won't be using Just Eat again.

Jeg vil kort fortælle om en af mine oplevelser hos Just-eat.dk - og vil side at jeg tit har modtaget positiv ordrer og hurtige til at levere ( hvis det er restauranten selv der sørger for udbringning) Meeeen så til det kedelige, vi bestilte noget mad kl. 19-20 tiden fra en restaurant ved herlev bymidten - og jeg betalte gennem deres hj. side og transaktionen gik igennem og der stod forventet lev. tid : 5 min - vi vidste godt at det kunne ikke lade sig gøre , så vi regnede med ca. 45 min. klokken blev omkring 21 og vi tænkte nu prøver vi lige at ringe ind og høre om ordren gik i gennem eller hvad der sker. Kvinden i deres kundeservice, siger at deres BIL er på vej og hun kunne se at BILEN lige havde afhentet ordren fra restauranten, og hun sørge for at vi gik en form på kompensation for den lange ventetid. fint tænker vi, nu går der max 15 min. ( vi vi bor ved den gamle TV by som er 5 km. fra restauranten) men næh nej, vi venter 45 min. MERE! og tror vi endte med at spise maden - efter vi varmede den op igen fra mikrobølgeovnen kl. 22:45 - Kan godt love jer for at jeg ikke har bestilt siden, og at jeg synes det er dybt uprofessionelt at der ikke er nogle som har ringede til os siden, og givet den kompensation - fred være med dette, men råder alle til at tænke sig om før i bestiller på justeat.dk - HVIS leveringen er gennem deres BILER! - stadig ingenting hørt, derfor denne mail, så andre "sultne" mennesker kan overveje om det i virkeligheden ikke nogle gange er lettere selv at hente maden, for dette er uacceptabelt! Som tingene er nu, vil jeg nok ikke bestille fra justeat.dk igen.
PS : jeg er JUNK EATER, så jeg har bestilt rigtig meget gennem tiden :-(
I've used your service so many times but this time it has been a joke. I waited a full hour prior to contacting the restaurant, upon contacting them they told me that they did not have the details When I spoke to Gauri on chat she said that there box was not working and refused cancelling my order. I also tried to phone you but for 10 minutes it was still ringing. Great idea but terrible implementation of the service.
I have used Just Eat a few times, and had never experienced any problems. I went to place an order and it came up with "there is a problem with your order" message. I noticed the "Online help, Live chat" box on the right, and thought that this would be a quick way to redeem the issue.
I typed in the details and my question and waited at least 10 minutes for a response, I also tried phoning the company on their helpline but was also put on hold. Note that this is a service for "Urgent problem with a live order"
When I did finally get to speak to someone on the online chat- I had given up with the phone help, I had resolved the problem myself, having gone through the process of ordering at least 5 times before it was successful.
I asked the customer support person if there was a feedback form that I could use to leave comments about the website- I had already used the "Rate support" option at the top. Initially the response was quick and helpful, but then I was left for a further 10 minutes before a reply was given as to where I could leave a comment about the website itself. I wonder whether or not the support workers are talking to more than one person at a time.
I have rated Just Eat at 3 stars, as although there were problems with my order overall it is a service that works, however I do think that there does need to be improvement with their customer support service.
Brilliant company to use within the comfort of your own home. It has a fantastic range of different restaurants. My one qualm is that where we live now some of the restaurants listed refuse to deliver to our area. Without this I would have given 5 stars!!!
fantastic place never had a problem before this site I had all the mither of having to go to a cash machine to get cash out then drive to a takeaway as most if not all wouldn't accept debit cards now this site is here I can sit back and order my favourite cheese pizza and pay on my card anywhere it's never let a hungry manc down :) every delivery is on time which I've ordered and have never been so full after eating these heavenly delights just eat.com you are my new best friend I look forward to spending a lifetime using your great services thank you for coming into my life my friend AMEN
I wanted to order a takeaway easily and was recommended to try just eat. This was the best recommendation I've had. I went on the just eat website to order my takeaway, and it was brilliant. It was so simple and had no problems ordering. We always use just eat. There is another company called hungry house which is a copy of just eat only not as simple or as good as just eat. It's so much better than ordering over the fone and you have better payment options, which is brilliant if you have children in bed and don't have the cash on you to pay cash on delivery. Overall what a brilliant idea for 'ordering food the smart way' :)
its easier to order with justeat as you can view the menu and dont have the hastle of understanding the person on the phone,
just eat is a good place to order from. i have been using just eat for some time now. and i think it is great the staff are very help full if there is a problem they sort it out right away for you. the web site it self is very simple to use and very user friendly. it is a great way to order your take away with out having to phone any one. i would deff recommend just eat to every one i know. keep up the great work guys
Really great, easy to use service. If I'm too tired to cook, or even go to the cash point I can still eat! Centralized site for all the best takeaways in my area, with lots of menus to browse from restaurants I hadn't even heard of before. Takes the gamble out of trying somewhere new, with user ratings, and if something does go wrong the Just Eat team are easy to reach and responsive.
Just Eat works well as an umbrella payment system connecting multiple different independent places.
However, whilst I am happy to rate Just Eat a 5, bear in mind that this rates the service they provide, not the restaurants themselves. Thats where Just Eat's own rating system comes in.

in fairness they have never let us down, the pricing is the same as the menu, the card payment facility is great when you get home after a long day with no cash to find the cupboard is bare. It also gets rid of all those annoying menu's taking up the "man drawer" in our house! -
i have looked a few times and im sure we're talking about the same company as all these bad reviews but we have used them from the start (back when you collected points for free gifts - got some iphone cases) once a week so for a good few years and only once had a missed delivery, just eat rang me to say there had been a problem with the takeaway, i was refunded straight away and we ordered from a different place no problems
Whilst regular takeaway prices apply for ur local restaurants, the delivery charge and debit card charge are over priced, a £10 curry quickly becomes a £15 curry. Cheaper to just phone your local Chinese than using just eat :)

A: Once I had requested order, it took ages to go through but then came up saying order has been cancelled due to restaurant being closed. So we looked elsewhere.

A: I can only say what came up on the screen, I wouldn't of ordered elsewhere if it hadn't of been cancelled.

A: It did get delivered though, that's why i'm contacting you as I have two lots of chinese when I should only have one due to your website telling me it was cancelled and not open. I've now spent £70 double what I wished to due to your website error.

A: I clicked to place order. The little character came up saying waiting for chef to accept your order like it normally does. It was still waiting to accept for up to 3 mins. Then it came up order has been cancelled due to restaurant being closed. So I ordered from another chinese as it's bank holiday so believed what it had said was correct. Thanks

A: That's really bad customer service. Not even a just eat voucher for the inconvenience. £70 is a lot of money. Over £35 wasted on food that can't be eaten. I use your service all the time and I'm shocked that you won't help at all

They haven't posted my negative written comments about an order despite being posted last weekend. Strange though that my positive comments are there from a couple of days before that.
I have been able to pay for most my orders in cash or payment card BUT sometimes when I have placed an order with a promotional discount I haven't been able to pay the way I had intended and had to either start allover again with another establishment or not bother!
(I'm not the first person to comment on the removal/not publishing of negative written comments on several forums)
My last order took 30 mins to be accepted/email confirmation and an hour later to be delivered. I rang the establishment and they said the order hadn't come through. Strange as the order didn't have the usual Just-Eat print-out either!
Wow it's like having all your takeaway menus in one place. If like me you like a good takeaway, this site is perfect for you. You can put in your postcode and choose your food type ( ie Indian , Chinese etc) and it bring up all the takeaways in your area. All he menus are online so you can
Look to see who has a good deal on and If you want to try somewhere new other customers leave reviews so you can see how good they are. You order from the website and choose to pay on card or cash in delivery. Brilliant. Any problems I've had have been resolved quickly by the live chat or ringing takeaway directly.
On Friday 10/08/2012 I ordered a delivery from Griller using just eat. I placed the order at 18:30. At 20:30 I was still waiting and I called Griller to find out what had happened to my order. They told me that the food was on its way and they put the phone down. I then started from Just eat their chat help window and when I explained what happened to their Customer Service Advisor what had happened and that i was still waiting for hte delivery I was told that in the e-mail it says that the order can be updated and that the restaurant had done this.
I explained that no one had notified me and also explained that they updated it at 20:33 after I ahd called them. When I asked if they believed that this is good customer service the advisor cut me off or left the conversation.
I then Opened a new window to complain; Talked to Carla ( I think) after I explained again what had happened and about the fact that the previous advisor cut me off she told me that she was going to look into it. 30 minutes later having heard nnothing back i log off.
Seriously this is a joke and I will never order form them again.

Ordered food for 1800(also stated this in the notes section) ,arrived 1720 ,cold, and inedible . It was so bad I had to through most away. Contacted Just eat who said - tuff we cant give your a refund because we are nothing to do with the take aways.
Hungry house is better and wont charge the 50 p card fee like this bunch do.
The worst takeaways are on just eat, I will never use them again

Både oplevet maden så forsinket (2½ time), at familien grundet anden aftale var hjemme når den kom.
Forsinkelser generelt et problem - vises ikke før bestilling er afgivet, så man kan ikke regne med leveringstider!
Har også oplevet al maden ikke var med, når man ringede direkte til restaurant, var beskeden blot, at der var travlt, så det ville komme 1 til 1½ time efter - der havde vi sjovt nok spist og i øvrigt kom det aldrig!
Har haft ringet til just eat kundeservice for hjælp - inkompetente mennesker uden beslutningskompetence!
Samlet har jeg altså ikke fået hvad jeg har betalt for - mine penge er væk!
I typed in my postcode and ordered from uk just eat, I was then called a few minutes later by a very apologetic man saying my house was too far away even though I typed in my postcode.
He then said he could refund with a voucher, I specifically asked if I could use it on my iPad and he said yes, all good until I got the voucher and realised there was no way of using it on my iPad.
I tried the online customer support and didn't get an answer for over 10 minutes so rang and was on hold for ages.
Then I spoke to someone who didn't know how to help, eventually got through to a senior member of staff who was very rude and said it isnt their fault I don't have a computer, well no, but I did ask if I could use said voucher on iPad. Eventually I am now told they will refund the money within 7 working days.
This took me over 45 minutes to sort out in which time my severely mentally disabled child had wrecked my house and given me a fat lip and black eye as he was stressed about me not giving him any attention.
I was a regular user of this service but never ever again. This was supposed to be a treat for my child and ended up a very stressful experience for him and me.
When I first started using Just Eat, there were multiple problems with browser compatibility during the final payment phase which was very annoying and I stopped using the site for a while. When I returned, the choice of restaurants had increased and the browser issues had been resolved. It's a good service and will probably get better as the selection expands, the number of ratings increases, and the restaurants get used to the system to the extent that response times improve.
The interface is attractive, intuitive, and very easy to use.
If I do have a gripe it's the trustworthyness of the star ratings. In my area, for example, there are 6 restaurants with 5.5 or 6 stars. Yeah right! Most are average at best. If a really truly fantastic restaurant did emerge, how would we be able to identify it amongst all the overrated mediocrity?? Needs work!
After spending 15 mins with my family choosing a menu and ordering I paid for my meal. After the system tells me to wait, then my order is rejected becuase I live to far away. But this is not enough, wasting our family's time when we could have been looking at actual viable options, no before they determine if you are in a delivery area Just Eat takes your money and then when the order fails they inform you it can take 7 working days for the money to reappear in your account. I could have had a voucher, but as we already discovered, the place does not delver here so that in effect would be useless to me. I queried why the deliveriy possibilities cannot be determined before the order is placed, why it is not done that the order is eiter accepted or declined before payment and the reply was 'this is how the system is set up we can't do it any other way' or 'the system wont 'allow' us. They set up their own system and then blame it for all the shortfalls. Brilliant idea. I give Just Eat 1 star only because the system will not allow for no stars.
Spent time ordering an indian paid for it only to be told takeaway would not be sending it. To top it off money wont be back on my card for a week. Went on live chat and they where worse than useless, no appology and left me waiting for 5-10mins at a time. Avoid.
I recently ordered from them and I got a confirmed delivery, two mins later it changed to, sorry we not sure if the takeaway place is available (even though it said they open). If you order 5 mins before time you should get what you ordered! At this point my money was taken, but we will give you a voucher they said, well whoopti doo! The saga went one, on the same night the next place I ordered from demanded I settle for the wrong order, I said diet coke idiot not coka-cola! And oh, I'm still waiting for my refund, trading standards here I come.
And lastly, the advisor on the phone, called Laura agent number 2699 said, yh I'll get a manager to call you back in 10 mins, wow maybe 12 hours is the new 10 mins, and still counting.
The menus aren't displayed in the same format as the restaurants they represent, leading to delivery orders. At first we thought it was just coincidence but as we live in a large group of student flats we worked out it was a common problem.
Tonight I ordered from Dixy Chicken, and the justeat order summary states that we paid for 4 drinks, 2 fries and 6 things of chicken. The delivery guy when he arrived did give us our chicken, but only 1 drink and 1 fries. He even checked it with the kitchen.
The problem is JustEat doesn't accurately reflect the menus. And who am I supposed to ask for a refund from? Just Eat accept no liability, even though THEIR email told me what I had ordered, and Dixy Chicken say the order they got was different from the one I sent.

First of all my meal took 2 hours to be delivered. I Called the take away service and was spoken to very rudely. When the meal was delivered, it was cold although the delivery man said it was 'made fresh', also the chicken was undercooked, full of bones and the naan bread tasted like plastic.
I had been using just eat for a while and we usually used the same couple of restuarants. This time we chose another one and my order was accepted and my money taken from my account. It never turned up. I phoned the restaurant and hour and a half myself and they said no order for my address had been placed, Just eat said they would refund me but over 2 weeks later I have still had no refund. I will not be using them again. I think it is wrong to have money taken from my account and expected to wait for weeks to get it back when nothing was even ordered.
Now two months on I STILL HAVE NOT HAD MY MONEY BACK. Be prepared to lose money. These people are very dodgy.
I had my order accepted by Just Eat and money taken from my account. After the delivery time had elapsed I received an e-mail that the order would not be honoured as the kitchen didn't provide the items I ordered. So why on earth were they on the menu? I started a live chat with someone from just eat called Holly who was absolutely useless, talking to a cat would have been more help. So a week to refund my money and no food. The time previous to this the curry I ordered arrived nearly two hours before the time I specified and seemed to be from a different take away who had put in a few of their own menus. Never, ever again.
I placed an order which was accepted and paid on my card and waited t%ll after delivery time I was given and checked my emails and had an email from the takeaway sauing my order had been refused as it was to far to travel. So I have £20 out my account but no food. I began a live chat which was like talking to brick wall. No help, no reason as to wat happened just copied and pasted term and conditions, I then asked him to call which he said he could not guarentee me a call back!?! I stupidly placed another order, this time it was rejected with reason "too far to travel" yet it came up in my postcode again. Although order was rejected money was taken out my account and the "customer service team" never told me why, they shouldnt have takenmoney out befor orders were accepted. I called again and the man phoned the takeaway and the reason they gave was the didnt have a telephobe number for me even though it said too far to travel. I am still waiting for the money from the first takeaway to go back in my sccount, I will never ever use just eat again, I never recieved any compensation either!! Very angry customer, will not recommend
