Appalling service and scam

I have now had my second unfavourable experience with KGB. The first time was in May 2012 and again in February 2014. The first time I ordered a gift for a friend of mine. Submitted the voucher code on Gizmo-Biz.com and paid for shipping..no item received.

Once the 3-5 days had passed (time scale they said delivery would take) I emailed Gizmo-Biz.com to find out what had caused the delay. I received no response. I tried a further two times and still had no luck. I then contacted KGB who took over 2 weeks to come to a solution and then offered me a refund as KGB Kash. I wanted my money back as I had lost faith in them as a company, but all I could get was credit to use with them... However, they failed to inform me that the KGB kash had an expiry date. So, some weeks later I tried to spend it and it had disappeared. When I contacted KGB to ask why they did not care and simply said there was nothing more they could do for me and that KGB kash has an expiry date. No helpful at all.

On the 23rd of February, I saw an email come through advertising a charging cable for sale that can be used for three types of media (iphone, ipad and android phones) which I thought would have been a great accessory for my car. I foolishly bypassed the fact that it was KGB who had sent me the email and paid for the goods a few days later on the 28th (£3). Moments later when the voucher came through I went to http://www.ministryofdeals.com/ and ordered my item and paid an additional the £4.99 postage. I instantly received an email confirmation and thought nothing more of it. The email said it could take up to 10 days for me to receive my item so I put it to the back of my mind. However, 2 weeks had passed and I had not gotten a dispatch email or received the item! I went back to the confirmation email and emailed ministry of deals. I received an automated response from them but no reply at all. A week later I emailed again and then 2 more times some days after that. Still no response. Now we are at the end of April and I have not heard anything from http://www.ministryofdeals.com/, or KGB in regards to this. I recently emailed KGB about this and they seem to be managed by some other company and it is not clear if or when I will receive a response either. I am really sorry I went back to KGB. I had not have realised that many of my associates have had similar experiences as well as the reviewers on this site. I will stick to Groupon and Wowcher who have never given me any serious issues and are more than helpful when issues arise. Please shop with someone else. KGB are up to no good. Steer clear.

Dreadful scam!

I placed an order through KGB deals a month ago, received a confirmation email promptly and the money was taken out of my account the very next day.

A month later - no despatch email, no items, no response to multiple emails and calls. They don't answer the phone and don't even have a voicemail.

Shocking that KGB would work with them, wish I had come onto TrustPilot before buying.

Unreliable & Unhelpful

I was recommended to KGB deals by my hairdressers assistant. Having had very good experiences with Groupon & Wowcher, I thought I would receive a similar service from this company. Not the case at all. My first order arrived promptly and this encouraged me to make further purchases.

Oh what a mistake I ordered two batwing tops in March - No delivery. I also had ordered a shoe rack - different supplier no delivery. My Credit card however had been charged.on both counts Attampts to contact KGB resulted in automated replies telling me that UK sellers did not provide tracking details but the items would be shown when shipped. Well here we are 4 weeks after order were placed and not a glimpse of a delivery on the horizon or an offer of assistance from KGB.

My honest advice is don't touch this company with a barge pole.

Appalling

I bought a voucher and made my booking but was informed that the company had closed for renovations (yet another substandard service) and was told to contact KGB Deals for my refund. There is no way to contact KGB Deals except for an email address that belongs to another provider. A Google search came up with a number but I was promptly disconnected. Does KGB Deals exist anymore? Or does it exist just to steal money? Isn't there an official consumer board that I can report this to in the UK?

Shocking Customer Service.

I have used this company in the past, when I say past, I mean over a year ago without any problems. However I have recently purchased a boiler service through them from a company called Energy-Serve.
I made an advanced booking as requested through the 0843 number which is charged at 10 pence a minute for the 31st March 2014. I recieved two emails confirming the appointment, but guess what the engineer didn't turn up. I have left three messages, again on the 0843 number and an email. As yet with no response whatsoever.

I emailed ncrowd regarding the matter and there response was they were going to reach out to KGB for me and circle back to me in 3 to 4 days!!! Talk about american fandangle jargon. They have now emailed me after 4 days with this reply......We have already escalated this matter and was advised that the customer must chase this with the Merchant. The merchant has been fully paid and we cannot grant the refund request for the customer.
Our apologies for the inconvenience.
And my reply to them was...........In response to your long awaited answer. I clearly state in my email that I have chased this with the merchant with great integrity. However as far as I am concerned the deal was bought by myself from KGB in good faith. KGB are the ones that advertised the deal and were acting on behalf of the Merchant at the time of purchase and therefore by law should take responsibility.

I find the wording in your email confusing and irresponsible. You cannot buy a deal without paying in full. I do not accept your explanation or pitiful email of apology. I have used kgb in the past and have had a very good service. However I have just seen terrible customer reviews on the internet, had I seen them before the purchase I would never had gone ahead.
Please respond to this email asap.

If anyone reading this can offer further advice I would be truly grateful.

Best avoided? Gone down the tubes in our experience....

10 April 2014 update to review.
Refund for unavailable deal received TWO days after doing one-star review on Trustpilot! Coincidence or not? Who knows? So have now put KGB up to TWO stars.
Communication from NCrowd was very poor. The only way we knew refund had been made was an email from PayPal. We will continue to monitor how others are finding KGB Getaways, as historically we had some great KGB Breaks. It's the wear and tear when deal does not go smoothly, followed by a battle to get a refund which makes consumers think it's better to avoid KGB altogether.
KGB if reading this, you need to reply promptly and relevantly to each buyer's concerns to retain their confidence. Please do not be patronising in your responses to customers and please do give US-speak a miss!
Best wishes, Margaret H.

Original Review
Over the years we have had some KGB deals which HAVE worked well. Thanks Grand Hotel Swanage (2012) Brynafon Rhayader (2013) and New Cosmopolitan Brighton (2012 & 2013.) Visits to Birds of Prey in Bedfordshire (2012) were also good.
After one hopeless attempt in 2012 at buying memory cards, I decided no more 'things' through KGB. For the memory cards and for holidays where there has been no availability, I fought for and eventually received refund from KGB of amounts originally paid. Customer service and refunds were always s-l-o-w.
In 2013 I spoke on Radio 4 Money Box programme about difficulties getting refunds from KGB. After that air time, I AT LAST got the refund I was entitled to for the memory cards which had NOT been despatched to me the year before.
Now KGB has morphed into nCrowd USA, I have little confidence in the organisation and do not anticipate buying further 'bargain breaks'.
NCrowd has introduced nonsensical lists of deals, with my USED, UNUSED and VOID deals from ALL years jumbled up together. It's almost impossible to find what you are looking for!
Now I need a refund for a Getaway which expires on 30 April 2014 and for which hotel has no availability. I emailed NCrowd on 2 April and received an unsatisfactory response for what seems to me to be a SIMPLE request.
Money was taken INSTANTLY from me on 16 Nov 2013, the day of purchase of Deal. KGB has had use of my £112 since that date. As no goods or services are available to me I requested refund of £112. I feel I am getting nowhere and today's automated reply even mentioned - by mistake? – TWO different case numbers.
In early 2012 I would have given KGB Deals 4 stars. In the light of my experiences mid 2012 through 2013 that would have been between two and three stars. Now it's NCrowd, I've dropped to 1 star, as I feel unsupported by this company. I will update this site when/if KGB Deals/NCrowd refund me. Best wishes all.

KGB steal your money

Whatever you do please do not buy from this company. They used to be the great and I have bought and enjoyed many purchases from the company. However they have deteriorated badly recently. I bought a back pack which broke the first time I used it so naturally wrote to them. Apparently a company called ncrowd now deal with the uk.. I believe they are based in the USA and will not help their UK customers. I have been told to send photos, which I've done, but nothing has happened. They do not even respond to my emails despite the fact they have never been abusive. I am currently writing on the facebook uk site daily and will continue until I get a response. This is not about money it's about service. I would actually not give them any stars.

Never again will I use them

I ordered a large garden storage box with a voucher from them. I paid £28 to them and then paid £9.99 for postage to better bargains. After nearly 6 weeks I haven't received this. I am having no response from either KGB or better bargains. Could someone suggest how I can deal with this

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM

Don't waste your time booking with these con artists! Booked 75 minute reflexology with Roohi in Woodford, (she also works in Canary Wharf, do not book there either) Turned up on the Saturday to find out she wasn't at work, they didn't know where she was and apparently it's not the first time she has done this. Rung her phone with no response and over a week later, still no response from her.
Explained everything that had happened to KGB Deals and the response I received was Hey! Get them to ring her again, over the 7 day cancellation policy.
Very unprofessional and I emailed them again with no response.
Absolutely disgusting!

https://www.facebook.com/kgbdeals.uk This is their facebook page, I tweeted at them and they haven't responded! Maybe more luck with this!

Untrustworthy company....beware!!

I bought my deal which was dinner at a restaurant. After contacting the restaurant they told me the code was not valid and I should contact kgb after sending them an email and not hearing back (response time supposedly 48 hours) I called them too, and was told my call was high priority and that I would receive a call back either within hours or the next day. This did not happen as I only had one day until my booking I had no choice but to call the restaurant and ask them if they could give me the deal if I paid them directly. They agreed and I'm still awaiting my refund from kgb the only way to get a response is to post on their facebook website and complain otherwise they don't care.

there is no way to give it a zero star

I have to say that purchasing with KGB is a massive MISTAKE! they are not like Group on or Wowcher. I went for a full head of highlights, conditioning treatement & cut & blowdry. This deal was redeemed & i am not impressed! i didnt get the colour i wanted because the hairdresser didnt know what she was doing, the bleach she used on my hair was so strong that it literally fell out as she yanks a brsh through it. I didnt receive the conditioning treatment & i ended up with a lop sided cut, with layers in one side & at least 4 inches more than requested taken off. To add to this when i contacted KGB, all they kept telling me was the deal had been redeemed, I was well aware of this, otherwise i wouldnt have been complaining. it has taken 4 weeks to get a response that says, 'please contact the merchant'. i honestly do not think this is an acceptable resolution, especially seeing as it has take over £70 to fix this!

If you want to pay good money and not receive anything at all - use KGB

I saw a deal for 2 pairs of fleece lined leggings for £8 and thought they would be nice for the chilly days. Ordered on 15th December and a couple of days later paid the £4.99 p&p to a Fish Called Geoff. On 9th January I sent an email asking when to expect delivery - no reply. I then contacted KGB and after 5 days got the most insipid response imaginable. This went on for a couple of weeks until I reported them to PayPal before the 45 day deadline was reached. PayPal have now sent me an email saying that they have investigated and found in my favour and have refunded my money. Please, please, please - anyone out there having trouble with this dreadful company, report them to PayPal before the 45 days is up as that is most likely the only way you will get a refund.

Poor customer service & shoking shipment fees

Ordered 3 smal items and was charged 6 GBP shipment costs per item (total of 18GBP) when the items where actualy sent in one smal envelope 2nd Class via Royal Mail, which would have probably cost 2,90GBP. Contacted sender - advised to contact Kgbdeals. Contacted customer service of Kdbdeals, got template response and was advised to contact the sender direclty. Doesnt seam that they care at all.

DOES ANYONE HAVE CONTACT NUMBERS FOR KGB DEALS?

On one day I made four purchases from KGB deals. As yet. I have received NOTHING despite paying in full and then paying postage to merchants on top of the cost. I have had a run around with trying to email and getting no responses or inappropriate delaying responses. This company needs investigating. Does anyone have any contact numbers for managers since I tried 0800 0118012 and all that this number did was refer me back to email before being cut off.

Shocking practices and I think we should be making a representation about KGB deals.

Poor customer service

I accidentally ordered 3 of one item on sunday night. It is Thursday and I have since sent 2 emails trying to cancel 2 of the 3 items. Their website clearly states they will get back to you within 2 business days but do you think I have gotten anything back from them to acknowledge my problem? No! I have purchased things from them before but I will not make that mistake ever again!!

DO NOT USE KGB DEALS

Usually I check sites before using them but I got swept up with Christmas online and ordered some light up coasters through this site using A Fish Called Geoff who I shall review separately on here. What a load of crock! It took approx 4 days for the vouchers to work instead of 24 hours and when they did it took a month with no acknowledgement emails from either company. I finally got an answer from Fish called Geoff to say my item was shipped and would arrive first week of December. They arrived approx 5 days later in two small jiffy bags (I stupidly ordered two sets I thought they looked good) and paid £5.99 each(£11.98 in total) postage for something that a first class stamp would have covered. The coasters were not coaster just small cardboard discs which looked like they had been cut out of a cardboard box which lit up when the button was pressed, the size of a 50p. They were all green not the different colours I was led to believe and one didnt work. KGB have not responded to any emails and there is no number to call and the stupid thing is I also paid for these on my debit card, bad mistake as I have no comeback, if I had paid credit card I could have got them to back my case as the item was misleading and not what was advertised. A lesson learnt for me, do not get caught out, never use this site.

Deals are too good to be true. Don't except KGB to help

Bought 2 deals:
1) at the beginning of Nov 13 which never arrived & for some reason KGB seem powerless to want to solve. Needless to say the issue is still ongoing & I'm still waiting for my money back
2) The main product description was different to the small print, product took 1 month to arrive & KGB, when they did respond are not interested.

Con artists, don't use them ever

Awful awful company. My goods never arrived, I've chased countless times and they keep lying saying 'oh it's been shipped now and be with you within 2 days.' The first time I asked for my £7.99 postage to be refunded, given I paid that because it said delivery within 5 working days and 2 weeks later I'm told it hasn't even been shipped yet.

I've since sent repeated requests for a full refund as the item still hasn't arrived and they conveniently don't give you a phone number or direct email. They've taken £46.99 from my account within hours of me making the order, most decent companies don't take the money until they've shipped the order, some not until you've actually received it.

Unfortunately for this company, I work in the media so will not be letting this go and will be spreading the word far and wide how utterly crap they are.
