Very surprised at how good the quality was for the price. Definatily worth a try as the price really cannot be beaten. Do what I did and get plenty of quotes from other companies before getting them in. Service is also very good once you get hold of them on the phone. I was promised a call back regarding a fault with my dishwasher door. No one called me back so I had to phone back an hour later and they came out and fixed the next day. Good value company and just like everyone says, they do not take payment until you're happy
Very cheap just like everyone says. In fact so cheap that it sounded to good to be true but it wasn't. A very beautiful kitchen fitted by two really professional men. The kitchen looks like a ten grand kitchen but cost me more like two grand. I would have no problem recommending to anyone thinking of a new kitchen. Shop around first before you go to this company and then you will realize just how cheap they are. I had one item which the fitters damaged themselves which was the hob which they managed to drop but it was replaced the next morning and didn't delay the fitting. I would definately use them again. Also as mentioned by others ,you don't pay until it's finished. Very good attitude towards their customers.
There is no doubt about the fact that this kitchen company is cheap. The quality is very good indeed, the service is average. I bought a kitchen and it was less than half of any other quote that I had had. The kitchen arrived about one hour later than arranged. When it arrived everything was there. When we came to fit it we realised that the door that they had sent for the corner unit was missing so was the corner post. We complained to the company and we got replacements three days later by courier. The kitchen is now finished and does look very good. I think that every kitchen company has it's problems . I would use this company again.
I managed to damage most of my doors thanks to the way this company packages them. The main problem was that I didn't realise that I had scratched them until the whole thing was fitted. When I inspected the doors carefully I realised that there was a scratch mark that ran down the centre of every door. I immediately thought that this was a manufacturing fault and was perhaps why the kitchen was so cheap. When I rang the company to complain of this the lady asked me if I had opened the boxes that the doors were in with a Stanley knife which I had to admit that I did. I had apparently pressed to hard when splitting the door boxes open. Luckily for me the company accepted responsibility for the way in which they were packaged and sent me a new set of doors free of charge. Unfortunately I had all the hassle of taking the doors off and handles and hinges and putting them all back on again which was a ball ache . Good new is though that I have a full set of extra doors with very slight scratches that I might build something for the garage with. Perhaps I should call them and tell them that my units are scratched and see if I get a new set. Apart from this minor problem I cannot grumble at the way that I got treated by this company and it was very cheap .I hope that this helps anyone considering using this company,Luke.
I also had a kitchen fitted at the end of last year and saved an absolute fortune. It would be very interesting to know how Sharon went on with her delivery. Mine was perfect and I think that if every company allowed their customers to inspect the products in detail before asking them to pay then the world would be a better place and there would be less rogue traders around. It would be impossible for rogue traders to exist if they did the same as this company and finish the job before asking for payment. The government should bring in a policy that says that all workmen should finish the job or deliver the items before the customer is asked to pay
Hi there Sharon. I haven't bought a kitchen yet but just found this thread whilst doing some research. It seems great that this company will allow payment after delivery. What is there to be afraid of? If you don't like it then don't pay for it. How can they be fairer than that ? I don't know of any company that is willing to deliver a kitchen without payment up front. I am going to book a design with them and if their prices are as good as what everyone is saying they are and you don't pay until it's delivered then surely that's great for us the customer. There are so many horror stories out there about kitchen companies so I personally think that what this company is offering is pretty unique and is something that I wish other companies would take on board. I bought a bathroom set from b and q a couple of months ago and they wanted the full money up front at the time of order and when it arrived the sink base was missing and I had to wait a week for it. If this company has something missing then just tell them where to go that's my advise.
[name] I wouldn't worry about this company as my kitchen from them is fine. I finished fitting it last week and I'm yet to tile the walls. They took all the risks and when the driver gets there he has a check list that he goes through with you. It takes about an hour to go through it and if you don't know much about kitchens then you are definetly best having someone there that does know. The driver will even let you open the boxes and check for damage. There was nothing missing with my kitchen and when my fitters arrived they said that the quality was much better than other big kitchen companies. You can actually tell straight away when you open one of the unit boxes up that it's good stuff because there is no exposed chipboard anywhere and the edging is really thick. The kitchen units that I took out before fitting this kitchen were rubbish in comparison to the new kitchen. The back panels in my old kitchen were really thin hardboard that had all warped but the kitchen from this company had really thick back panels. Also my old kitchen units had loads of exposed chipboard because it wasn't edged all around like this one is and this is the reason that it started to fall to pieces because the damp had got in. The edging is also much much thicker on the new kitchen. Each unit is like a proper piece of furniture and much different to the kitchen that I took out. Bottom line is, CHECK EVERYTHING ON DELIVERY AND IF IT'S NOT BANG ON THEN SEND IT BACK. I cannot imagine them coming all the way to Edinburgh if it wasn't bang on when you haven't even paid them yet. If you want me to send you some photos of my kitchen then let me know your email address and I will happily provide them. But please bear in mind that I haven't tiled yet. Good luck with your delivery [name],Bruce
Hi Sharon . The telephone number for your local Trading Standards is 0131 529 3030 but why on earth would you come onto this forum and ask a question like that? Why could you not simply have googled Trading Standards and there it would have been. That's what I just did. What is so worrying about paying for your kitchen after it has been delivered? To me this seems a fantastic way for any company to operate. Any other kitchen company would already have your money before your kitchen even sets off from their warehouse. If you ask me then it is impossible to lose isn't it? All you have to do is have your kitchen fitter or joiner or anyone that you know present when the kitchen is delivered and they can check everything for you and if there;s anything wrong then you just don't pay for it. It's hardly rocket science Sharon. You say that you are worried because you have to pay for it when it gets there. I think it's the company that should be worried as it is them that is taking all of the risks. They have to make a kitchen ,deliver it all the way to Scotland and only if it's perfect will they get any money from you. I hope that you don't think that I am being rude but I can't understand what's wrong with you. I strongly suggest that you do get someone who knows what they are talking about to be present when the kitchen arrives to check it because you haven't even got the brains to google trading standards to get a telephone number. God help you
I think that this company is getting a bit of unfair comments. I had a perfect delivery and I did not pay a penny until after it was delivered and I had checked everything. Ikea quoted me over £4000 and I bought from this company for only £1200. The cabinets and doors are also top quality and better than I expected for the price. In my opinion The Best Company that I have ever dealt with.
THis is probably the worse company I have ever dealt with in all my 64 years. I cannot believe they can stay in business when their designers can't use a tape measure, their product is sub standard, they can't deliver what you ordered, they fail to correct mistakes and their customer service and af sakes is abysmal. One run of units went past my kitchen door by three inches. I had to do structural changes to the door and frame from the hall into the kitchen to make the units fit in. Their customer services constantly put the phone down on you and this is after being on hold for half an hour. Three weeks afte my kitchen was delivered it is still unfinished. They have sent me replacement doors that are a different size and shade the original delivery and they ae incapable of putting it right. This is despite me emailing them pictures of the right doors next to the wrongdoors!
Due to pregnancy my partner and I decided to redecorate our home....after looking around at kitchens and getting quotes we thought we couldn't afford to redo our kitchen how we wanted, then we found kitchensuber. We arranged for a designer to visit us and give us a quote. We were thrilled as it turned out we could afford the kitchen we wanted from this company, we paid the £100 deposit and he went away to place our order. The next day my partner looked the company up (for reviews, something we hadn't done in advance). After reading the reviews, particularly on this site, we became very worried, the last thing we wanted was a disaster kitchen with a baby soon to arrive. We looked everywhere for better reviews and tried to forget the bad reviews we were reading. It got to a point where we considered cancelling the order, I'm so glad we didn't! The day of delivery came around fast. The delivery driver was very friendly and didn't have an issue with us checking off all the bits as he brought them in, he also assured us that he'd be going through checking off all the pieces at the end for his record. We opened the packs to check all parts were there and no damage (all apart from boiler housing were packaged in cardboard boxes - the same as if we'd bought wickes own, the boiler housing was in bubble wrap but was wrapped very well). There was no damage to any doors or cupboards, all the sizes were correct, all the handles ect were accounted for as well. We were hugely relieved as all the reviews had issues on delivery day! The next day the kitchen fitters arrived (we used the ones from kitchensuber). They arrived at the time stated and had called in advance just to make sure the time was still okay. On arrival they looked through the kitchen plan and measured our kitchen...it turned out that the kitchen designer had been slightly wrong with one measurement (we didn't check his measurements when he did the design, which you do sign to say you have, so we felt this was our fault as well as we could have picked it up), however this wasn't an issue for the kitchen fitters. They spent 5 minutes talking and had a solution, which wouldn't affect us at all, all the units were going where planned and nothing new needed ordering! All they did was trim the back of the 3units (the part that's designed to go round the pipes so didn't effect the units looks wise and as we had no pipes behind them really wasn't an issue!). They got to work straight away ripping out the old kitchen and started fitting our new kitchen....they got a lot done but had to come back the next day to finish it off, but they made sure we could still use the oven and sink ect. At the time of ordering the kitchen we knew we were changing our boiler, we informed the designer but told him it was going to be the same size as our existing one.....However we ended up with a different boiler which was bigger than the original planned one. This meant the boiler housing and cupboard next to it wouldn't fit (the fitters were aware if they put the boiler housing on it would break the law due to not having enough space either side of the pipes ect). So the kitchen fitters left the unit and boiler housing packaged and said if we order the correct sizes, once they arrive they would come back to fit them. The only thing that was missing from the our order was the end pieces for the work tops, which wasn't a huge issue as we needed to order units anyway. After about 2 weeks I called the company to place the order for units and the worktop ends. I had to wait for about 3-5 minutes to talk to someone, she was polite and asked for a few details so she could get our details up in her system. I explained the issue with us changing boiler and so needing a bigger boiler housing and smaller cupboard next to it, she processed the new order and arranged a swap exchange - so we didn't have to pay for new units or any extra, all we had to do was give the delivery driver the wrong units we had for the correct ones! And she added the worktop ends in, which also cost us no more! The delivery was organised for 2days later! However when the delivery arrived the boiler housing didn't have a door. I called the company straight away and spoke to a man this time, he was also very polite and apologised for the missing door. He arranged that one would be with us asap (no more than 5-7days) that they would have it added to a delivery route in our area and if weren't home they would leave it a neighbour..I was pleased with this solution and after 2 days the new door arrived! So although there were a couple of minor issues these could have been solved by us, checking the measurements and sticking with the originally planned boiler.....given this the company was nothing but helpful, the fitters and delivery drivers were really nice and our kitchen looks exactly as we planned! The price for the kitchen and fitters worked out much cheaper than buying a flat packed kitchen from wickes or selco or anywhere else. Our kitchen and the fitters cost just over £2500 and it's not a tiny kitchen...we were being quoted £5000-£8000minimum by other companies and to buy just a flat pack kitchen would have cost us £2600 and then would have to hire fitters. So all in all value for money is amazing! Wd would definitely use this company again and definitely recommend to our friends and family! I know this is a long review but I felt people should see the positive side of this company and see they do deliver what they say they will!
Can never get through then when you do they cut you off .they talk down to you all the time they promise to phone and they don't .im still waiting for my kitchen after 3mths .1st kitchen I ordered they phoned to say didn't come in the sizes needed picked another which what bits did arrive came in all different shades and panelling ,had to order yet a different style and they said that they couldn't guarantee they would all match . So had to choose yet another style which I'm still waiting on 10 doors and a cooker hood door .im now @the end of my tether .it seems once they have your money they don't care you can't say don't pay as they won't leave any parts unless you do DON'T USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN
Where to start... their contractor measured wrong turn out he can't add up. They won't exchange the damaged and scratched items or even respind to my complaint and won't even swap the items they sent in tge wrong size. They even send a larder unit instead of a normal oven housing unit!
I placed an order with UBER KITCHENS but my invoice is for INTERIOR HOME DESIGNS OF ROSENDALE. I had to pay cash at the door when the items were delivered and £100 cash in hand to a designer who forgot to include or order the door which covers the extractor, so I had to go out and buy a stainless steel one. He ordered and charged for three end panels when one was needed, two larder end panels when one was needed and three plinths when two were needed. So a complete waste of my money!. End panels, cornices and plinths were scratched when plastic coverings were removed.
My kitchen arrived via a very nice courier who took great care to see everything was included and ticked off on my list .
IT WAS WHAT WAS UNSEEN WHICH WAS THE PROBLEM!
The carcasses are without a shadow of a doubt seconds or returns.!!! They were unboxed and bagged together in bubble wrap. When opened the 600mm sink carcass and its connecting 1000mm corner carcass had no markings or holes for cams and cam pins. They were not included anyway! Well why include them if there is nowhere to put them!! We had to go to B&Q and buy two replacement carcasses because the phone was on a loop and no one bothers to answer the phones. At least half of the cams and cam pins were missing for the wall units which did have most of the fixing holes in place. No indents or marks for the hinges in the doors. The drawer fronts were small doors with no way of fixing them to the drawers.
The list goes on and on. If I end up with a decent kitchen it will because I have a good fitter who is literally tearing his hair out!
We are desperate for a new kitchen; current kitchen designs from wickes/howdens/magnets all coming out at close to £10,000, which we cant afford - so I decided to look around internet on the off chance I might find a fab deal. I came across Uber Kitchen, and managed to organise an appointment for them to come and give us a free quote and design. Luckly we didn't actually buy a kitchen there and then.....and I am glad we did not after reading all your stories - which I'm sorry you all had to go through. But the experience has left me very concerned and nerous about continuing the process of buying a kitchen from anybody to be honest.
The lady came to our house to do the plan - now I feel sick to my stomach, that we let a stranger into our home, offering her refreshments. She was quick in measuring kitchen and wasnt very inventive when we said that we'd like to turn kitchen around abit, move the sink etc. She basically just planned kitchen out as it was at the moment. She had this really old book, like a hard backed thing, with anicent looking pages etc. Anyway, she was a really good saleswomen. She said all the right things etc. Worked out a price for us - it would have been £6500, but she could do it for £4400, as they were able to beat any other quote. BUT if we bought it there and then, we'd get more savings, and it would be £3500!!!!!!!!! Sounded good, and me and my husband were tempted. But we said we couldnt pay now, we'd like to ring her in the next few days, after we thought about it.
A few days later we thought we'd go for it. It was cheap, and we knew that, but thought if we're careful and double check everything it would be ok. We sent a text to the number she had left us, which was her mobile number. No response. So we rang the next day. No answer......then an abusive text came though, saying it was the wrong number, dont ring again!! I then telephoned the 0121 number on the internet for Uber Kitchens, and got a bunch of retards..........no customer service at all, just "hello," no this is uber kitchens, how can i help etc........I had to ask who I had rang and where in the world they were. I was informed it was a call centre for lots of kitchen companies. I felt they were unhelpful and not interested. I then had little alarm bells ringing. This lady comes and quotes for cheap kitchen. Shes has no business card, no id of any kind, that she works for any kitchen company, and she doesn't leave any paperwork. She wants £150 deposit for kitchen there and then. The number she gives us was apparently not hers, How do you end up giving the wrong one out?!?!!?! The people at the call centre gave me another number for this lady, and we call that, and she answers. My husband explained to her the situation and that we're not happy and that we think its a scam and she goes quiet. No explanations. I think she asked him if we wanted her to come back and go through the kitchen design again, but we said we'd come back to her if we wanted to do that.
But the whole thing has made me worried about proceeding with any complany and I feel disgusted with these people. Because we were very close to signing up with this company, who clearly cannot do what they say they are going to do!!!!!!!
I think we will continue getting quotes from different companies and double check things with who ever we go with and check reviews!!!! :-)
Yep we got ripped off too. Ordered a kitchen paid for it, 2 months down the line we are still waiting for doors. I have lost count of the number of calls i have made, but 5 of them were yesterday and four of those calls were cut off immediately. If I could buy the doors elsewhere I would as this is now causing me serious stress. I have the Oak doors if anyone can help. The staff are rude and lack in Customer Service skills. DO NOT GO NEAR THEM
I'm no different to any other, I've been sucked in. Ordered a kitchen for my mother. Big mistake. I'm waiting on 4 Doors and I had to order a belfast sink of my own because the one they sent was damaged and was holding up the kitchen insallation.
Absolutely everything I've read in here applies to me also.
I'm now 6 weeks since delivery of our kitchen, I have been pulling my hair out. This is Tues 11th Dec 2012. Our kitchen was delivered on 30th Oct 2012. I reported the missing/damaged items on the 5th Nov. Every week there is another story to fob you off. I called numerous times last week and was assured on on the Thursday again, by a confirmation call FROM THEM that it would be definitely this weekend i received my missing goods. Called them again on Sat just to make sure. They said yes the delivery driver was in Aberdeen and would be coming to us in SW Scotland there after. Waited in all weekend, then decided to call again on the Sunday afternoon. An hour later the alleged delivery driver called me on a withheld number and said he ''forgot to contact me on Saturday night to inform us his van had broken down in Perth. Unbelievable.
ALAS! As i started typing this message they have just called again to say that it will be this Thursday or Friday my items will be received. I'm not holding my breath.
I sincerely hope you are reading this review before considering buying. Yes, we actually have saved a fortune on our kitchen, but the hassle is unbearable and the appliances are cheap Chinese made. I only bought doors, carcasses and handles thankfully. We got our own personal fitter to do his own worktops and the sink/tap was cheap crap that is getting sent back.
Waited 6 weeks for delivery when told it would only be one week. Called about 12 times during 6 weeks to find out about progress told on 2 occasions paperwork lost. Requested they double check delivery given how long I had waited. When goods arrived half the items were missing and quality of doors is cheap and not like how salesman described. Called 4-5 times daily for 4 days in a row to resolve and get missing items – put on hold 30mins each time, phone cut off every time after approx 30mins. Spend approx 6 hours on hold and got nowhere. Sent approx 20 emails to all concerned plus faxes. Turned out desinged measured up wrong and missed units in order so kitchen could never be finished. They deny receiving emails to any email address but at some point admit to knowing things referred to in the emails. Have asked to speak to someone in charge about 5 times but no one ever calls back. Called Field Sales manager, original designer, delivery man all said they can’t help and don’t answer phone. I’m out £1,500.00 and have got mismatched of no use goods causing a hazard in my hallway and kitchen just before Christmas. Have reported it to trading standards this morning. Have requested refund under distance selling regs. And sales of goods and long distance regulations but not heard from company. About to issue proceedings through solicitors anticipate having to send bailiffs so could be a long and costly process but cant let them keep my money. Have asked them to collect goods but dont expect response until i get judgment and bailiffs in. This as you can you see is not a professional company so you have been warned! If anyone else needs help please reply here and I will let you know what works best.
Ok so kitchens über "aren't" now at maple mill, Oldham, I "wasn't" there with a court warrant recently, I "didn't" have a ding song with the gorilla they've got on their security at the front gate, none of the above is true. Honest. I'm not letting this info be known so people can go are them themselves and try and get their money back. Honest I'm not.
