I owned a Kobalt 17" gaming laptop for almost three years. My initial impression of Kobalt as a company was good, my laptop (Which was very well built and excellent spec) was delivered within a couple of weeks of ordering more or less in-line with the estimate, however unfortunately over time Kobalt's service has slipped to very low levels.
During the time I owned the laptop I had one hard disk failure and two graphics card failures. My problems started when the first graphics card failed and I attempted to contact the company to get it replaced under warranty, it literally took me three weeks to get through to the company. When I finally got through they informed me there had been a lot of sickness and a problem with their phone systems, they did however replace the graphics card and apart from losing a months use of my laptop everything was OK.
Unfortunately about a year after this my hard drive failed, again it took me weeks to get through. The reason I was given this time was again sickness and problems with the phones and yet again I lost the best part of a months use of my laptop before I managed to get the part replaced.
The final straw came when the replacement graphics card failed again earlier this year. Yet again I could not get through to Kobalt, this time I looked on their forums and again they were making posts about sickness and surprise surprise problems with the phone system. After a few weeks of trying to get in contact with Kobalt I eventually gave up and bought another gaming laptop from PCSpecialist which was delivered within 3 days of ordering!
paid for my laptop back in march 2011, finally had enough of their poor communication and excuses back in august, and cancelled order.refund promised, waited, emailed, ignored and now they gone bust. Best 2 grand i ever lost.
Bought it with debit card, last time i ever make that mistake.
been reading other forum posts and it appears they were quite happy to take peoples money off them right up to the last minute. bunch of crooks.
I will never order from them again as they have an awful customer service. They hardly react to emails and you can also not contact them via phone.
I've ordered my notebook in April 2011. After 6 months of waiting I was sick of it and asked to cancel my order. Now after 4 weeks (beginning of October 2011) still no sign of the refund plus they completely ignore my messages now.
If you have similar issues with them report them to Consumer Direct like I did www.oft.gov.uk/consumerredirect?action=complain and use all means you have to pester them! Also, seek legal advice if they continue ignoring you.
Ordered a high spec laptop. Kobalt quickly took payment. I then waited almost 2.5 months before finally giving up and canceling. Not got my money back yet either! Read posts made by several others who've had similarly bad experiences. Clearly not a company you should trust with your cash. If seeking a Clevo laptop seller in the UK, I urge you to buy from someone else.
Ordered a laptop middle of December, nothing received by end of January. Asked for a refund and only received via credit card company intervention... not Kobalt's own process! Serious communication problems...
Jaa, nu har jeg betalt mere end 20.000 kr for en bærbar... -men jeg har endnu ikke set skyggen af den.
Jeg ringer og skriver til dem hver dag, men de er slet ikke til at snakke med. Det er SÅ FRUSTRERENDE! Det er nu snart 3 måneder siden jeg lavede en ordre, og jeg begynder så småt at tro at jeg er blevet røvrendt på det groveste.
