Their insurance is ok, but god help you if you have an accident. They'll sell your details to literally hundreds of vulture companies that'll phone you for years, trying to get you to sue somebody. I wasn't even in the car at the time. Of course, Kwik Fit denies selling my details, they won't even admit they're a bunch of greedy *****
Like Marius I found a massive increase in my insurance year on year despite another year of no-claims. Also, like Marius I was given no opportunity to change before they simply went ahead and took the direct debit.
I too found I could half my insurance by going elsewhere and was then charged £50 for the privilege. I have subsequently had calls telling me they could save me money on my VW Toureg (a vehicle I do not and have not owned).
I had quite a good insurance with them for a year, then came time to renew and I received a letter offering renewal insurance and the price only went up by £920 from last year. So it was clear i'll have to find someone new, and i did. I saved around £740 by leaving them.
Few weeks later i checked my bank account and saw that kwik fit took out money from my back account making me go into overdraft, so i called them up and found out that my insurance was automatically renewed. I was told i was suppose to call them up and say i didn't want to continue. But any other decent company would have called me up(so ok that was my fault then). BUT i did not receive any kind of notice or confirmation at all saying i got new insurance with them. And to cancel the policy i had to pay £372 because they added all kinds of extras on top of normal cover which i have never used or needed before.
I still saved money cancelling and paying £372, than staying with kwik fit.
