Although the website might look a bit dodgy and there's no browse functionality, this was the only UK website selling a gearbox mount for my (now rather rare) car. I ordered the "Beck Arnley 104-1344 Transmission Mount" on 5th February 2014 and received it 11th February (3 working days). I emailed the website to check up on the order on 9th February and had a prompt reply on the 10th February advising that my order was being despatched that day.
I ordered a book from Langton via their Amazon Marketplace store. They sent the wrong title. On pointing this out they told me this was Amazon's mistake and instructed me to return the book at my own expense. I requested an RMA label and was told this was not possible but they would reimburse postage once good returned. They wanted me to return book to third party. I refused and requested an SAE, reminding them that a) I was the customer not their employee and b) this was their mistake not mine. They then indicated that they were unable to source the book anyway! I eventually made a claim under Amazon's 123 Claim Guarantee scheme but not before they had told me this was futile and that Amazon would simply tell me to return the book with tracking. Amazon were great and issued an immediate refund. The book is still in my possession awaiting an SAE - a rare win for the consumer!
My order came after about 8-9 days, so in all fairness I have to say my experience hasn't been to bad, although they didn't dispatch my item until about 4 days after receipt of order.
I hadn't actually read the shocking reviews on here until I'd made my order, which resulted in my waiting on tenterhooks for my item to arrive.
But as I say it did come, so I am relieved, although I shan't be using them again because of the time it took for them to dispatch my item, and the very bad reviews they have on here.
I do acknowledge that they allow for Paypal payments, which does add some credibility, in terms of feeling assured that if items don't turn up Paypal will deal with the issues on the customers behalf (I had a similar experience a few years ago where Paypal did just that).
All in all, I had a decent experience but going by the reviews using this company is an obvious risk you take.
First of all, he (probably a one-man operation) has one price if you buy one copy of a book, and he has a separate, significantly higher price if you purchase multiple copies of a book. (The book I wanted multiple copies of cost $1.46 if I only wanted one, but $4.03 each if I wanted more than one.) Curious about this odd practice, I inquired via his email address (also his only contact info). Two inquiries later, I received a response stating that the higher prices for multiple copies were due to him factoring in the cost of shipping. I would have accepted this explanation but for the fact that he also assesses additional shipping charges that increase as the quantity ordered increases. So he essentially tries twice to charge customers for shipping.
I pointed out this discrepancy to him and politely asked for an explanation. Once again, I had to email twice before I finally got a response that did not answer my question but instead advised me to "please place an order via the website." Needless to say, I did not, and nor should you.
The item I ordered was only available in the US, Langton happened to have it in stock. Langton Info website isn't the best looking but I received the item I was after. i didn't expect to receive the item quickly as I assumed that their backend systems probably were not the best too but I was pleasantly surprised today when my item arrived just over a week after i ordered. It was this or I could have ordered from a retailer in the US which may have taken longer to deliver and cost a few quid more.
I ordered a Dorman rubber oil plug for my motorbike which works great, no leaks so I was very happy with my purchase too and am back on the road with it. I expected just one plug but got 3 in a box.
So my experience was very positive compared to the rest of the people on this forum.
Langtoninfo is an Internet Scam Company. Stay away !!! They are re-selling products they buy from other sites for more than double the recommenced retail price !!! Search any product via "Google Shopping" to compare the prices and you will find the same product at Langtoninfo.com site for more than double the retail price !!!
I ordered a birthday present on the 6th Feb, and it still hasn't arrived (now 28th Feb) totally missing the birthday on the 25th Feb I bought it for. After several patronizing emails from Langton Info (have you checked with anyone else living in your house?) they are refusing to give me a refund as it is their 'policy' to wait a month to see if the item is truly lost in the post. Have they never heard of the Consumer Act? Or Distance Selling regulations? After reading these other reviews I personally doubt they even had the item in stock, or have sent it at all. They just want to keep my money for a month (if indeed I EVER get it back). What a scam AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. I am reporting them to Trading Standards.
This company has no clue about customer service. I ordered an item on Jan 6th in good time for my son's birthday on Feb 22nd. Despite the wesbite promises, it took them a week to even get the order out, it took 20 days to arrive and when it arrived it was the wrong item. After they confirmed that this was a mistake on the part of their supplier, I am still expected to international ship this item back to them at my own expense and only then will they issue a refund - but not for the shipping!! By the time we are all done, it will be too late for my son's birthday - not that I would consider buying the item from them now anyway. The best they would offer is a 10% discount on the item I don't want/didn't order. I think that the ratings on their website are suspect because these policies are just nothing but extremely bad customer service. Avoid doing business with LangtonInfo.
This company took 5 days to dispatch my order. It then failed to arrive in time for Xmas. They offered no support other than to say in a cursory manner that it must have been delayed in transit. I placed the order in good time. They have not replied to my requests for information as to how I obtain a refund or what compensation they can offer for my lost goods. They are a cowboy outfit. BEWARE!!!

BLOODY AWFUL!!! The positive feedbacks on their website sounds completely inconsistent. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
From the website, "We might not always offer the "best deal", but we offer a fair deal with an exceptional level of genuine service to match. Even though it means our prices are slightly higher, we don't pressure our suppliers to reduce royalty payments to authors and other copyright owners." So a fair deal is £17 for a £6 (max, as little as £2.50 elsewhere) gasket, I don't see the deal there?!? As for "exceptional level of genuine service to match", is that why they have no phone number?? I'd steer clear of this company, well clear!
