appalling: rude crooks

I ordered two items from them over a month ago. They took the money from my bank account immediately (plus about £5 p&p!!) but the weeks later, the order was still listed as invoicing being in progress. I have emailed them twice asking what's happened to my package with no reply. The package never arrived. Then the other day I checked on my customer account and my order was listed as having been 'returned'. WHAAAT?? Some time later the cost of the items appeared back in my bank account but they kept the p&p money. Very sneaky indeed. I have never received service like this from any company in my life. They've wasted my time and cheated me! Order from them at your peril.

Brilliant Experience

Seamless transaction from start to finish. I was quite nervous to make my purchase after reading the reviews on this forum, however, the item I ordered was available and received within 3 days of order. Very happy with my buy and could not recommend highly enough despite the negative reviews listed. Happy with the service and cannot complain. Everything must be taken with a pinch of salt. THE WORST I HAVE ever encountered !

SAVE YOURSELF SME AGGREVATION AND DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.

Their call center is in Lithuania, and it is vey difficult to understand them..to say nothing of the arrogance of the staff.
I had a 50% off code and after finally speaking with supervisor, she was to manually put in my order so that I would receive the discount.
Heard nothing, SO i called today, and was told they tried to contact me by phone
( no message on my phone) and they can't use email to contact me and the person today can't tell me about my order as the only one who would be able to tell me is the person they spoke with originally and she is not in...??

Totally off the wall.

Very very poor delivery

I ordered an item and after a week when it did not arrive I contacted them and I was told the item has still to be dispatched. Another item was returned on the same day and it has still not been credited. Keep away this company, totally disappointing

Never had any problems

Some of the clothing is very cheap and some is more expensive. Pick the more expensive if you want better quality or you can always return the cheaper items if you don't like what arrives. My latest package from them had a free miniature Baileys in it as well - bonus!

Low quality clothing

Cheap and nasty clothes and if you go for their more expensive range it is only of average quality, way overpriced. Awful customer service. Wouldn't recommend

Not worth it in the long term

Today I closed my account with La Redoute which I have been using for 4 years.
It made sense to use their shop at the time when I became self employed and cash flow wasn't always good , so I purchased garments that I needed for my work on their credit facility. It was also a very useful way of shopping during my pregnancy and birth of my son for things not so easy to find on the high street. However, their so-called discount / offers are applicable on very few items and I used to get very frustrated finding anything decent for a reasonable price. But the biggest let down is that I have recently found that all the garments I have bought are falling apart, some of them with 2-3 wears!
I particularly got very upset when I discovered a hole on the sleeve of a 100 % merino wool cardigan that I was very fond of. I paid full price £59 and have used just a handful of times and only washed once with the utmost care, I spotted the hole in the middle of a meeting with a client. Not good! This made up my mind on walking away from La Redoute. In other words, I recommend them only if you plan to buy as last minute resort and ONLY on already discounted items so poor quality won't be a disappointment.

Hero to zero

I used to shop a lot with La Redoute a few years ago, and was always really pleased with the quality, service and value for money. I don't know if this company has been taken over by someone else, as I am really shocked that such good service could turn so bad. I have waited over 5 months for the delivery of one order of 4 items, items I might add, that they continued to advertise as available and even included as sale items in their catalogues whilst my order has gone un-received. I too have had an offer code that has not been honoured, the free gifts that have not been sent. I cannot get through by phone or by e-mail as their e-form for contact does not submit, Sadly I have learned my lesson and will certainly not be buying from them in future.

answer the flipping phone!!!

I don't know how to cancel my account with laredoute, they have their automated phone answering service on a loop and never pick up. I haven't ordered anything for 25 months and my in credit balance has gone to zero! what a shambolic company. I tried emailing too and it wont submit. There's no record of returns I made a week ago although I have proof from Hermes. Do not open an account with this company.

Will never use La Redout Again

I ordered some items and paid using a credit account. One of my payments went astray and had to be tracked down by their missing payments dept this resulted in a marker on my credit score which as you can understand I was not happy about. However this issue was resolved. During the process of getting the issue sorted out I made another payment to ensure that my account stayed straight and that my credit score was safe. Imagine my frustration/anger when I was contacted again to be told that I had missed a payment. They are now tracking down my latest payment and I have since cleared my outstanding balance (payment will probably disappear also). Needless to say I will never use this company again

Free gift con

For the third time my free gift has not arrived, this time it's a coat, called customer service and low and behold no one ther to talk to me they would pass the message on
I am beginning to think the free gifts are just one big con.......unless they would like to prove me wrong

Very disappointed !

I'm very disappointed, I currently live in the USA and my sister is in Belgium. We really like La Redoute so I wanted to order a few baby items to have them delivered to her directly.... Simply not possible ! I tried via the Belgium website, impossible as my current address is in the US. I tried the international website, they don't offer delivery to Belgium !!!! Do you call this customer service ??

THE WORST COMPANY EVER !!!

You could not make up the experience I have had with this company and I still don't have my order.

1) Ordered curtains two weeks ago(beginning of October)....and arranged delivery day - took time off work and still no curtains arrived.

2) Spoke to customer services and they said the address was wrong - okay fair enough - rectified this and asked to be notified of new delivery date.

3) spoke to customer services yesterday.......a nice lady said it will arrive tomorrow....had to arrange to take time off work to wait for the courier.

4) They called me to say they will be here today guaranteed by courier delivery........

5) 17:47 still no curtains have arrived..........online tracking says courier has delivered to a secure location at 13:00 - what exactly is a secure location? nobody seems to know and cannot tell me.

6) spoke to customer services again demanding they call me by 6pm today with an answer

7) I will update this site everyday to keep other customers informed of my progress

Horrible customer service and snail speed delivery

I called their telephone customer service today to help find an item but received horrible customer service!!:
1) they stuck to their rote learnt bookish lines insisting I give them item number. There was absolutely no desire to budge or help or "waste time" on a customer wanting to spend the money on their company and buying the product.
2) To begin with, he spent good long time asking me to confirm my address, my landline number, my email address, my full name as though I was calling a bank and not a happy shopping place.
3) When I said this is not so great customer service, there was not a single word of apology just to make me feel better at least...it was a mere okay...like im calling some royal highness where I should be sorry I wasted their time.
4) Might I add they deliver super slow.
5) The quality isn't to die for - but would have been bearable if I was at least treated like a customer they cared to retain.

It's so sad to see when a company is suffering because their customer service is amazingly horrible. I would rather spend double the money on a product that is given to me with precious customer service

Non existent customer service standards

La Redoute is a fragmented and incompetent online shop that will send you up the wall with there non-existent service standards. You only have to search for 'La Redoute Reviews' and you will see the web is awash with unhappy customers, they even made there way into The Guardian for the bad service, which is pretty staggering.
I spent a lot of money this summer with them, it's true some of the clothes are very nice, especially the invite - guest collections. Ordering is pretty straight forward, the deliveries do take a while, allegedly the clothes come from France, but they don't credit your account until the items are en-route (well that was my experience anyway, it hasn't been for other customers).
The problem for me came with exchanges - it's utterly hopeless.
I exchanged a pair of leather trousers, it took over a week to get Hermes to collect them, God knows how long to reach La Redoute and then apparently they were mistaken for a coat! When I notified La Redoute of the mistake I was informed this was actually my mistake for putting the trousers in the wrong packaging!
Where it really goes crazy however is when my husband ordered a few items including a pair of shoes, which when they arrived were massive. He returned them for an exchange for a larger size.
A while went by, then I received what looked like a computer generated email informing me that due to a part-paid account an automatic credit was arranged. How can something that has already been paid for by visa/debit have a part-paid account you ask? And so did I, for over a week, until eventually I received an email informing me that due to the £111.00 outstanding balance (La Redoute's mistake with the jacket vs trousers issue) this meant that due to the kind of account I have (i.e. cash) the account was part-paid and no exchange could be given, and basically it was my fault for not understanding what they were talking about in the first place (clearly I am paraphrasing here, but you get the idea).
Well, I completed the 'please rate our amazing service standards' questionnaire and gave them nil-points.
Now, this is where it becomes ever more interesting!
In fairness, I received a phone call from the very same operative I had dealt with the day before. She wanted to explain that apparently the problem lay in the fact that "due to the type of account you have, cash, that due to fraud regulations we have to provide you with an automatic refund and no exchange can be given."
"It works like any other retailer, if you wanted to exchange an item they would have to refund the money first" - not from my experience, not when I am exchanging the exact same thing just in a different size!!
It begs the question, that if this is the case, how the heck did I get the original leather trousers exchanged for a smaller size if this is the policy? Clearly there is something wrong here.
Confused, I am, and you will be too if you shop with La Redoute, confused, frustrated, dissatisfied, and thoroughly miserable.
La Redoute spends a lot of money on glossy marketing and hollow mantras about giving customers 'amazing service' but they fail to deliver this, they are light years behind any other company.
So please, do yourself a favour and shop somewhere else, you can easily get the brands in a La Redoute catalogue directly from source online and spend your money with Companies that genuinely care about customer satisfaction

Not worth the grief

My wife made a purchase of some nic-nacks for the bathroom. There was an offer to receive £10 off for signing up to a newsletter so we put in our details and then found that the offer only applied against certain items (and not homewares). There was an asterisk on the homepage next to the offer but nothing in the small print about this. After I complained to the ASA, they have been made to fix this one.

Then we were offered a discount on future purchases (I think alongside the newsletter subscription but can't be sure). It turns out this was signing us up to a £10 a month scheme with Shopperdiscounts and rewards. Beware! I do customer loyalty and eCommerce for a living and I'm very Internet savvy, and very careful about signing up for things (I'm the one who reads the small print on the back of car rental agreements :-)), but we were suckered into this and we're still not sure how. I went back to have a look at the LaRedoute site but couldn't see this again. I suspect I'd have to go all the way through a purchase and I'm not going to make that mistake again. If you Google for Shopperdiscounts and rewards you'll see that its scheme designed to work by tricking people into signing up.

Any business that carries on with this level of contempt for their customers is not deserving of any trust and is just not worth the hassle in my humble opinion.

First order will be the last as well

Incompetent is the best thing to say about them. Ordered 2 vest tops. One came and the other marked as unavailable, even though both showed as in stock at the time of the order. The website said it was canceled, so I call to ask when I could expect a refund, only to be told it had since come in and a new order generated just minutes before my call. A few days later I look again and no new order and no dispatch notice. This time I emailed to get answers in writing and got 5 different answers in as many days. Eventually another one arrived, but it was not the same material as the first. Even better was both ran small when I had ordered over sized. The canceled status of the second item never changed. DO NOT waste money shopping with this company!

Snail speed, they need to sort themselves out!

First time customer, ordered two large sofa throws from la redoute over 6 weeks ago, and still nothing.. I have spent hours and lots of money on their helpline at just under 20 p per minute, each time for them to say something COMPLETELY different about where my order is.. 2 weeks in they told me it was on its way, then they said it is still in France and now apparently they have to reorder it for me for some reason!? My throws must have been to and from France many times by now if they are to be believed! I have no idea whats going on and the service is terrible. last night they put the phone down on me when I asked them to hang on while I got the order details... After 10 mins of waiting for them to pick up.. It's disgusting.

I am loath to spend anymore money on their helpline so will be emailing them to cancel my order, and sending them the bill for all the money I have wasted on the phone lines.

What a pathetic company, and not a way to ensure they keep new customers...

They re-ordered items for me but charged me full price without my discount!

I placed an order customer number 0801123732 order delivery enquiry 002562414 and I received a confirmation for my order but did not receive my items and my order DISAPPEARED from the site!

I contacted Customer Services who promised to resend my order , then nothing

I contacted Customer Services again & this time my order was sent out but I had an e-mail saying I had set up a credit account when I HADN'T but this is ok IF I get my order at the ORIGINAL PRICE charged ie £3 NOT FULL PRICE without the discount accepted on my original order!

I need a response to my e-mails as I will keep the credit account and order again in the future IF I am only charged the original amount of my order ie £3 otherwise I will have to return my order and close my account and not order ever again , thank you!
