I wanted to get away from it all lastminute is always my 1st choice
always found somewhere to go without any hassel and never had
a bad experience.
I have watched mama Mia earlier and this was not upto the mark..
Good value, easy booking. Great website
Nice and easy ordering, great value hotels in the heart of London, don't stop them!
I ordered the room, it went well, no issues. £69. Get to the hotel, no sign of payment, was asked to then pay £59 which included £3 for credit card payment that was never used. I then had to go and get a bank statement to prove I had paid the original which I then find I paid £10 more than the hotel had asked me personally for, including the extra for the credit card. No impressed.
Awful service with last minute .com. Last minute.com promise a refund within a few days if you find the hotel cheaper else where! I found the hotel cheaper on another site but still havnt heard anything regarding my refund! I got told on the phone to send a link of the website where I found the cheaper hotel, which I did. But then I had an email saying I need to send them a screen shot! I don't have an I phone so it looks like I won't get my refund after all! I'm very annoyed, false advertising!
very efficient and reliable. Made the booking with no problem and all was in order when we reached the hotel
This is by far the worst company ever dealt with from there attitude to there customer service....its all equally just complete rubbish! Booked a holiday to Paris for my anniversary, all seemed fine but after printing out boarding passes I noticed it had the wrong airport. It was supposed to be flying from Birmingham but according to the boarding passes it was going from the midlands (which after research was derby airport!!). I live in Wales so this is literally on other side of country from me.....what a joke! I knew 100 percent certain that I hadn't made this error but of course customer services didn't want to know....i eventually spoke to manager after requested one (thou it took them 2 days for a manager to call me back....again unbelievable). After a lot of talk and manager getting back to me again he ever admitted that after they have had there tech team check what I had originally done that I had indeed selected to go from Birmingham!! So great, surely now its common sense they would sort out or pay the difference to rectify THERE ERROR.....think again! Even thou they fully admitted it was there error, they said that flights to paris were "no longer flying from birmingham airport" so they couldn't change it.....i then request them to atleast change it to a closer airport but they refuse to do anything!! Instead just get told that once a booking is made, the company who does the flights are paid and then its out of there hands......love to know how the heck that is my problem? Its just UNBELIEVABLE service all around....so in end I had to spend over 11 hours driving from wales to this airport and hundreds of pounds in cost to get there and back.....just to go on the holiday! It wasn't exactly the great way to start your anniversary.....I will therefore NEVER EVER use last minute.com and frankly they can go to hell!!
Book a British Airways flights to Vietnam via shanghai.... They failed to tell us it was too separate flights. Meaning although we changed in china for 3 hours we needed a via to go their the airport. We called them at the airport and they said it wasn't their problem and after 45 minutes off being on hold and being read out their terms and conditions they said it wasn't their problem and they dint need to tell us about needing a visa to go their an airport and we needed to book another flight... Bearing in mind we paid over £2,000 for flights in the first place... They wouldn't re route us in anyway way it help at all the customer service said they couldn't do anything just sell us another flight!!! An absolute joke and I would NEVER book with them again they give agents a bad name. Luckily BA have been great with us and helped out massively!
Hi Im sorry to say that Lastminute.com were really unhelpful when i bought some tickets. I need disabled seating, and was told to call the Paladium where the show was and sort it out myself. It took about three attempts to get through to the Paladium, and they told me they had seats in row I in the middle which were in the price I had bought and ideal as i have long term problems with my spine. The Paladium couldn't issue me the ticket and told me to go back to Lastminute.com. Thakur Geetanjali X has told me there is nothing i can do. Great!! Shame On You.
My experience with Lastminute.com is horrendous, I would advice to keep well clear of this outfit.
I feel the hotel I booked was misrepresented to me, the conditions for cancellation were misrepresented and the principal with which I was making the contract for the provision of accommodation through lastminute.com was misrepresented to me.
I feel the company skirts the edge of legality as a business practice, and has therefore a policy of vexatious underhand defence policy to deter abused users for seeking legal action.
If you want an easy life avoid sharks. It can be costly and impossible to find redress.
Just my opinion folks, sorry if you feel you needed more details and did not like my review, Stay safe.
I have booked a Top Secret Hotel with lastminute.com for next weekend, as the information told me it was at reduced rates local to London. When the address finally became known to me it is at least 3/4 hour journey time into London and far from convienient. It turns out to be in Shoreditch. I was told that the Hotel say they cannot refund my payment so I am stuck in completely the wrong area. Not only that but having just been on the Hotel web site I am paying their normal rate - so no reduction in cost and had I booked direct I could have cancelled the hotel up to 4pm on the same day as booking. Seems to me someone is'nt telling the truth?!?!
Recently tried to change a flight that looked like being cancelled due to Spanish strikes, Customer service is shocking and is based in India. Just a completely unhelpful attitude. When told if the flight gets cancelled, turn around time for refund can be 16 weeks! Will not be using after this experience. Speaking to British Airways inbetween for assistance just showed how far apart Customer Support between two companies can be.
Patrick found this review useful
I have used them twice now and on both occations the pictures and ratings of the Hotels has been wrong.
I booked a All inclusive 4 star holiday in Turkey and paid well over £400 but when arriving at the Hotel, I was horrified by the quality. The hotel manager said that the Hotel has always been 3 star and no 4. Ended up spending double than what I set asided due to horrible food and service at the hotel!!
When complaining to last minute, I never got any responses!! I will never use them again and I am warning all my friends against them!!!
Worst company ever!!
wat are yous playing at do u actually know that i tried to book a hotel to tenerife and the consultant aske me was tenerife in england omg it took me 30 minutes trying to explain were tenerife is i know ur exploiting them for cheap labour but come on were customers at end off the day not dogs
I THINK i MISUNDERSTOOD THE EURO PRICES; NONE THE LESS; the room was a smoke- reeking awful place. NEVER AGAIN!! And charged more than hotels rate!!! I cant even believe this b. crap goes on!
We booked a few nights in a hotel in Florida.... then found out lastminute.com had booked us the most basic room when had through their site booked the most expensive!.... So after speaking to the hotel owners to confirm this we phoned lastminute.com..... It took many calls, over three hours of my and my girlfriends time (much of that on hold) to get a refund (minus the credit card fee - which I have to pay). They promised a compensation voucher which unsurprisingly never came through!. Re-booked through Expedia all good so far.... will see if the hotel exists next week?
booked a trip 5 star all inclusive in antalya turkey sealife resort hotel turned out to be nightmare bad food no air con in rooms bad rude staff just read the reviews on this hotel i wounder how lastminute.com are getting away taking money from people and sending them to such horrible palces
I chose a hotel on the lastminute.com website. I clicked the ‘Book now’ icon which directed me to another page that asked me to complete the names of who is travelling and the asked me to click the icon that said ‘Accept hotel policies and continue to checkout’, which I did. I was then directed to the payment page where I was asked to input my credit card details and make payment. I did this and clicked the ‘Make payment’ icon. I was then told that the 'booking was unsuccessful and your credit card has not been debited'. I thought maybe there was an issue with my credit card and therefore went through the whole process again and used my debit card only to receive the same message: 'booking was unsuccessful and your credit card has not been debited'. The following morning I tried to use my credit card and it was rejected as there was a pending payment to Lastminute.com for the cost of the hotel. I then checked my bank account and discovered there was another pending payment to Lastminute.com for the same amount. This also put me overdrawn. I contacted lastminute and they informed me that it was down to the bank and Credit Card Company as they had authorised the payment. I tried to explain that they only authorised it as a direct request from lastminute.com even though they stated on both occasions that 'booking was unsuccessful and your credit card has not been debited'. I have been told that to get this reversed could take up to 7 days and in the meantime I'm racking up daily interest charges and unable to use either account. How bad is that, choose lastminute.com at your peril.
I had used lastminute before and recommended them to friends for their reasonably priced hotels. However on this occasion I made the mistake of booking a top secret hotel for my boyfriend's birthday. I rung them to get some help but the operator could not even find the hotel on my screen for the price that was showing on the dates. I asked for the rough location [ironic] of this hotel but wasn't allowed to be told. I gave up on the phone and decided to book the hotel online, only to find out this 4* top secret hotel was a Holiday Inn. Devastated, because I couldn't possibly take my bf to a Holiday Inn for his birthday [hardly romantic] I rung them up the second I got the email which would mean that the booking was still being processed. I was told this is non-refundable. I asked for an explanation as to how a Holiday Inn in one of the worst areas in London is a 4* top secret hotel only to be told these ratings are from a person from lastminute who goes to the hotel. Told it was non-refundable. The command of the English language from their operators or managers is not great. Can't afford another hotel after forking out £75. Thanks for ruining my boyfriend's birthday. Won't be using them again.
Dear sir/madam
i am very angry so i apologize now!!! i am very unhappy with lastminute. my booking number was 108865619. When i made the booking which cost £75i expected to have a hotel room. when my friend got to the hotel there was no bed at the hotel for them. i called lastminute at 2230ish on the 1/09/12. i was left disappointed that i was not offered alternative accommodation or a refund. i was told by denzil, a floor manger at the sales team, there was nothing that could be done until the 2/09/12, even though he knew there would by a woman and a 14 year old boy left with no accommodation. i would have paid for another room through lastminute but i did not have enough funds, after already paying £75, to pay for another room.
I had previously used lastminute in numerous occasions and had recommended it to others but after last night i am left shocked. How can a company treat customers this way? How can a policy be to allow children to sleep in a car because of your mistake? I paid my money in good faith to a company i believed had there customers interests at heart. how wrong was i!!!
I would expect a full refund, not holding my breath it will be quick? i would expect compensation for telephone calls, my time and to give something to my 2 friends who slept in there car last night? Also a change in your policy so this does not happen to other customers.
At this moment in time i will put this email on your website reviews and send to trading standards and watchdog.
i would highly recommend anyone who reads this thinks twice before booking with lastminute!! i will keep all updated with the outcome and look forward to customer relations response.
I spoke to Magtalena at customer relations on the 2/09/12 at 4 ish. she was very polite and listened to my rant. she said because it was a sunday i would have to wait until tomorrow for a refund or a response to my complaint, lastminute however will take money off you on a sunday, funny that!!! they was no record on her computor of my conversation with Denzil yesterday, funny that aswell!!
lets see what happens tomorrow, will keep you all updated.
Thanks ashley
still unhappy
I booked a FOUR star secret hotel on Last-minute.com - it turned out to be an elderly somewhat run down Holiday Inn (which only rates itself, generously, as 3 star)!! The price was even higher than their regular rate!
When I complained I got the standard, no refund response
We have been notified two days before our holiday - which I spent ages choosing that the hotel had overbooked and offered in my opinion a sub par alternative. On the original email it stated that we were in our rights to get a refund for the accommodation part of the booking, and it says this is the case in the T&Cs, however calling them they claim this is not the case. The alternatives offered were only to the same price and as you can imagine a month after booking the hotel selection remaining is not great previously cheaper hotels are now the range we are entitled to the day before (a complete con)
I attempted to call their office back to enquire about this but it is only open 9-5, leaving us one day to debate this and sort an alternative holiday. I feel totally conned and will never use them again following this poor experience.
Found a few good deals for hotels in and around Reading, but was foolishly enticed by one of those 'top secret' deals. Having paid for the room it was revealed I had paid £70 for a room that wasn't exactly 'top secret' since it was advertised on the same site for £53. Avoid top secret (ahem...) deals if you like/work with/know about money.
I used to be a big fan of lastminute, then a couple of experiences changed all that.
The first was a valentines night I spent watching Phantom behind a pillar after a dreadful meal where we had been packed into the basement of a ropey restaurant for some crazy price.
The next was a (expensive) well reviewed (recommended) hotel in Bayswater that was so bad the fleas had already moved out!
After a sleepless night and the constant worry of bedbugs we decided that crappy hotels where fine, terrible seats unavoidable, but don't pretend they are a 'lastminute' good deal - they are bad and should be cheap with big warnings!
From now on we make sure we know what we're getting and pay what it should cost - rather than the lastminute mark-up rate!
My first stop for London Theatre tickets
Often you get a ticket of face value way above the price you have paid
I have never been let down yet. Tickets are always at the box office for collection
Tickets offered at discount rates can be higher than face value at the theatre as we found to our cost at Lion King in the west end.
I've used Lastminute.com many times to book a variety of experiences / theatre tickets / spa days etc.
I find the process to be very easy, logical and informative when needing to find out information about a given event listed on the website before committing. Buy with confidence from this retailer.
I love lastminute.com but unfortunately the most important part, the search, doesn't work. Every time you view a hotel or holiday and go back, your selections such as price, stars etc is refreshed and you have to do it all over again. I had to resort to googling the hotels i liked to find more info so i didn't have to leave the list.
I had to wait over a month for a refund after I had to book a last minute trip overseas to burry my beloved grandma, with no money left due to lastminute.com freezing my last bit of cash before I could take off I was left stranded without a way to go, received my cash back a month later too.
cheers for that, hope the economic decline hits you hard!
Occasionally they'll have a great deal on here but sometimes you have to still shop around as there may be other sites with better offers.
I booked a trip to Egypt last year around 23rd Aug through last minute, my worst nightmare came true when I got a phone call 4 days before from an employee of last minute"I'm sorry but your holiday company has gone bust" obviously gutted but the first thing he said was look I will try and get another flight for you don't worry, there wasn't any flights left to Sharm, so he said look what about Taba Heights(I'd never heard of it but listened and looked at the website) he said well I can book this holiday for you instead(By the way my partner was beside herself with worry that we wouldn't be going anywhere) so he said well let me give you a bit of time to look at the accommodation etc. so I did and he called back, we had the best holiday we could have wished for, but what I thought was so unbelievable was the fact that because my money from the holiday that got cancelled would take 5 days to be processed for me to get my money back and I didnt have the money they sorted the holiday so we were actually there before they took the refunded money out of my account!! since then I will never use anyone else and used them for Vegas this Feb anf flew with Virgin and saved £500 on flights/hotels, would never use anyone else again, eternally gratefull twice now x
I was given a voucher as a gift from someone which will run out early/mid June 2012, so I wanted to use the voucher for a hotel in a few days from booking (hence LAST MINUTE booking)! I rang the hotel direct to confirm availability, they said cant hold room for you, as Lastmin wont be able to book for me, so I said ok I will speak to LM now and book the room! Got through to a man who was not English, so the language barrier very time consuming....wanted the hotel for a few days later, but in the time I had to keep repeating and spelling my name (which was clear and concise on my part) and him then telling me let me tell you about the hotel (to which I replied you can tell me about the hotel after ONCE YOU HAVE BOOKED for me, before someone else gets it...!! Guess what in the time of his flapping and no understanding of how to spell my name after repeating it to him, the room was gone! He suggested other hotels...NOT in the area I wanted....so I compromised...I said "please can I go then a day before" Yes will book for you...gave him my card details and then the voucher codes...Oh guess what...now he has suggested that these were used before???? I explained this is my first time using this code and want to use it before it expires...he then leaves me on hold for more than 5 minutes (he told me he will only be a minute), so fuming I decide to ring to speak to a supervisor, they put me on hold AGAIN for 5 mins, 3rd time I speak to another operator and tell them "please do NOT put me on hold put a supervisor to the phone??" to which a helpful lady assisted me and understood my frustration....this now must be an HOUR on the phone to make a simple hotel booking (as the LM websidte would not highlight the previous available date for me...this is why I had to phone them)....said she would come back to me (I made sure I have all their details...I am STILL WAITING FOR A REPLY TO MY EMAIL AND TO CALL MY PHONE...WHICH SHE SAID SHE WOULD... HER NAME IS SHIKHA, SUPERVISOR IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICES DEPARTMENT!!!! All morning wasted looking at their website for a suitable hotel plus the worst service ever to keep me on hold and lack of communication understanding from one of their operators!!!!! LASTMINUTE please use common sense give the customer a reference no at the start of call (as I couldnt get the reference no as the man left me on hold for about 10mins) now that is why your supervisor couldnt find my details...which I am still waiting for!! Hopefully people she will call me and rectify me and get me into the hotel I want.....DOUBT IT SOMEHOW...just a warning to you all that you need to be VERY PATIENT on the phone with them AND ALWAYS GET THE NAME OF THE PERSON YOU SPEAK TO FIRST BEFORE THEY LEAVE YOU HOLDING FOR A LIFETIME!
A great idea, however, every time I visit this site I never manage to find a hotel or holiday that is any cheaper than usual?
it's one of the best sites where you find your own travel, specially if u haven't a lot of time to spend and if you find on the lastminute.
