Once inside the room of this hotel it was lovely - however getting there involved 3 attempts at checking in - the room was not ready yet on only one occasion was i early. The wrong package was entered onto the system so that involved another trip back to reception ( as I telephoned from the room 3 times and got no answer which is unforgivable) When given the key I was not told where to go to the room at all - then I realised why - I have never had such a long walk to the room - up stairs through countless doors (with a suitcase and no offer of help)- and to an executive room! It was amusing that there was a peephole at wheelchair height on the door - as a less accessible room would be hard to imagine. The usual issue of staff training lets this place down.
This is the worst B and B I ever stayed in UK. The room was not clean, full of dust, spiderweb, the shower was totally dirty. Very disappointed. The breakfast was only cheap bread and small cereals. The container was also not clean so I gave up to eat the bread. Felt that the owner did not care and I realized he does not want to spend any money to make customer happy. Very unprofessional! Uncomfortable. I cannot / do not recommend Oscar Lodge to anyone.
My experience of late rooms booking was excellent , the first time I've used the site and we had a lovely stay in a really nice bed and breakfast !! The only snag was it wasn't clear that late rooms only reserve the booking and don't take payment, bit embarrassing as I hadn't got cash on me on leaving but thankfully the proprietor was very understanding and we will definitely use them and late rooms again
Hi I Booked a double room with breakfast for two for £65.00 as advertised. Very happy I had found at the price in the area I was looking at. The day after the hotel rang and said the price was incorrect and in fact wanted 90.00 for the room. They would not honour the booking. I frequently stay in B & B In this type of Accomodation is usually around this price bracket. We then dine in the accommodation. Very disappointed in this establishment who are advertising a different rate to what they charge. In this case Home Farm lost out as I cancelled and booked elsewhere for £65.00 on principle
I booked to stay in Exeter for two nights. My booking was accepted and then confirmed in an email. Two days later I received an email to say that the room wasn't available and my booking was cancelled. I was then told the booking isn't a 'booking' it is a request. The email confirmation of the booking was actually a confirmation of a request of booking despite it saying otherwise. I then received a follow-up email reminding me of my booking confirming the details, the booking that didn't exist that is. I am now hoping I will not be charged for the room I requested and didn't get as I am now booked into a far nicer hotel at a better price with better reviews. Don't waste your time, find your hotel, but book direct. I got a far better price that way.
on arriving at our destination we got no answer at door or on telephone.the outside was very overgrown with for sale sign up.after 15mins of trying to get some attention we had no alternative to find other accommodation.thus adding more expence to our weekend.
Turned up at Torquay - Belmont B&B, luckily fitted into one of the only two parking bays for this establishment. Would have been disappointed if I could not park there as the site stated parking - but not so restrictive to two bays only when there are eleven rooms.
Good reception. Climbed the 56 stairs to top floor. Good size room, clean and fresh. Very small window, so room quite hot and airless. Big portable air conditioning unit with pipe through open window enabled us to cool down despite the infernal noise from the machine. Needed to ask for more bulbs in central light fitting as very dark in the room;
The ensuite also required the shower light to be replaced, not done whilst we were there. Biggest problem, the sliding door to ensuite was not big enough to give absolute privacy when using the loo - so quite embarrassing for us, as it is so in the room. We tended to put noisy air conditioning machine on to drown other noises etc.
The breakfast, down another flight of stairs, could not be faulted. So much choice, good portions, local eggs, lovely thick back bacon etc etc. We really appreciated this. The young owner was very helpful in sorting some activity we wished to do, and suggested other things that would suit our stay.
We left the car where it was over the five days for fear of losing parking space, so walked, went on a ferry, caught a bus to other areas, and basically enjoyed the immediate vicinity. A spa day in local hotel was also well enjoyed.
So apart from the parking and some tweaking required in the bedroom/ensuite, we were well satisfied.
Oh - Late Rooms - we thought we had paid when booking - so that was a shock to be presented with the bill at the end of the stay. Quite embarrassing for both landlady and us. All amicable but could have been a problem for others. (was it us, or does your booking information explain this well)
Booked a hotel through Laterooms, and confirmation sent. A few hours later got an email from the hotel saying they did not have the accommodation available as they were full. Replied to the email and it took 3 days to get a reply. Have since been sent an email from Laterooms saying it is getting close to my booking!! Have since had to book a different hotel. The original room is still "available" although it gives a reference number and says to confirm with the hotel.
A couple of things come to mind when i think of Laterooms! the fact that IF you want to review a hotel/B&B you are obliged to book the stay with laterooms! you cannot go onto their site and leave a review! as they stated to me they are not a review site..REALLY? then why is their reviews on their site??? you will find laterooms are a 3rd person connection! you will pay them commission for booking a room either way your paying laterooms commission by using them!
i just asked on the facebook page why i wasnt able to review a certain hotel and they told me if i hadnt booked it with them i wasnt able too as they would send me a link offering me the option to review the hotel i stayed at...RUBBISH! so you have to be obliged to book with laterooms to make the review? basically they are stating you can only use your "Freedom of speech" if you book via them and i personally think thats bad customer service! the facebook moderator was pretty abrupt when i asked and contested against this way that they go about letting people review hotels and the moderator was rude! now getting back to the site you will find almost all the time it cheaper to call the hotel or go on their site check for deals! but note! some hotels sites are NOT live! and if you call the hotel its almost always at the discretion of the receptionist as to what price is offered (Within reason) unless its a special event taking place or a holiday ect? remember laterooms is an agent! and they only way they exists is by making money when YOU book via them! use some common sense and save yourslf some money and book direct! oh BTW the hotel i was looking at staying was £125 via late rooms or if i booked direct with the hotel it was £95 the hotel stated there was 45 rooms on that night where as laterooms stated there was only 4 & that i must book now to avoid not getting a room?? speaks volumes doesnt it.
Late rooms is brilliant, try it! I get so fed up with the day to day hum drum,I started using Late Rooms because I know that I will always find a last minute deal at a reasonable price,as I think that many hotels are way over priced. Late Rooms are professional and well presented site that is so easy to use, booking is not a task,so simple! There are many others out there but I much prefer Late Rooms, try it!
I booked a b and b in Cornwall and when I arrived on the doorstep I was told that the owner wouldn't take me and my infant child. There was nothing on the booking information to say that they wouldn't take children. Our holiday was ruined.

We stayed at the Cocketts Hotel and restaurant in Hawes north Yorkshire on the 3rd of September 2013 and we could not fault the hotel in any way, it was like being at home and was spotlessly clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hawes in north Yorkshire.
We phoned the day before our arrival to say that we would be late arriving. At this point we were told that the kitchen would be closed at 8.30pm on the day of our arrival. Sure enough, thanks to the M6, we arrived at 8.45pm expecting disappointment, however, we were asked upon our arrival if we had eaten, as the staff were going to stay on until 9.00pm. We took the up the invitation to eat and boy was it worth it. The food was outstanding, with my rump steak cooked to perfection and very ample portions. Our family room (2 adults, 3 children) was spacious and immaculate and was extremely good value with the full English breakfast thrown in for good measure (equally lovely food). I have not given it the extra star for two reasons, one is picky the other is more serious. When we turned up in the evening we thought the place was closed as there was very little life or light on the outside of the premises or in the car park (not so serious). Unfortunately, there was no real ale on offer, only John Smiths or Fosters, however, after the journey that we had just had, the reception we received was better than anything. Will definitely stay again the next time we stop over on the way to Inverness.
I booked The Whitewater Hotel and Spa using your website for a weekend stay in Windermere, where we were attending a wedding this weekend.
This morning I received an email from the hotel telling me they were already full and they were not going to honour our booking. They said that LateRooms were aware of the problem and were working hard to find us an alternative and would be in touch with me later today.
Needless to say I have had no contact from LateRooms and I am now struggling to find alternative accommodation at this late hour. Your inefficiency has probably ruined an important family occasion. The promised assistance in finding any other accommodation has not materialised and now, to add insult to injury, you have the audacity to send me an email telling me to enjoy my stay !
The experience of using your site, the chosen hotel not honouring our booking and then yourselves not even having the decency to contact us with either an apology or any alternative accommodation is only compounded by then sending me a message asking me to rate your non existent service.
This pathetic level of customer service is like something from the 19th Century and if it is any indication of your normal service standards I can only assume your demise is imminent.

I booked a one night stay- easy peasy. Got a room that the hotel was charging £199 for £43.00! Brilliant!
Our room was perfect for our needs, we had booked a family room but we needed access for an elderly relative who was with us. We were in room 1 on the ground floor. The room was all ready on our arrival, a double bed, single bed and fold out sofa bed, even the sofa bed was ready! The room was clean, ample in size, the beds were really comfortable with nice quality bedding. The only slight dislike goes to the bathroom, the toilet seemed very squeezed in next to the bath.
We had plenty of towels and free drinks. Even the free WiFi gave a good connection.
The breakfast was lovely and the staff very very helpful.
We would definatly stay here again, all that was missing was a sea view from our room. So all in all 9.5/10
We arrived in very late after a long day on the road and the lady of the motel was still there to greet our arrival as I had made a call to advise we where still around two hours away. If we arrived she had already prepared our room and key collection point and mentioned will settle accounts in the morning and to sleep well. Sleep well we did very well after a lovely hot shower and freshen up. Also included in room price was a Continental breakfast and gave me the feeling of days past in motel stays including a breakfast. Thank you to operators and staff of Eldorado Motor Inn.
Really stylish hotel without any pretensions, owner and staff couldn't have been more helpful, even to the degree of standing outside in the rain for 30 mins trying to fix our car! Would definitely stay again, food excellent, restaurant service very good and reasonably priced, definitely worth a visit, you won't be disappointed!
I put hylands park into google and the resulting title above lateroons.com was hotels in V festival so I assumed these hotels would be near v festival. Not knowing the area very well I chose london apartments which was supposedly 1.2 miles away from my chosen destination ie: hylands park (v festival). When it came to planning the transport between the hotel and v festival I found it was 16.5 miles away and a half an hour drive. This then meant we would have to drive and would not be able to drink, thus ruining our festival experience. We therefore decided there would be no point in staying at this hotel as it would cost us more in petrol and would not be worth it. We dont recieve a refund as this hotel does not offer refunds. Truly upset and disappointed in laterooms.com and doubt I will be using them again.
We stayed at The Cottles, Polperro between 4th-10th August 2013 and loved it!
The owners Jo and Mark were very nice! We thought their hosting skills were just right - friendly, helpful and attentive but not too intruding or over the top. Enjoyed their company and felt very relaxed with them.
The B&B was up a 'fairly' steep lane, but it was not a very long walk from the start to the B&B (approx 5-6mins) and regardless of this and despite me having health problems it was in a perfect location for local pubs, the tram station and the street that takes you down past the shops and to the Harbor....absolutely gorgeous!!!
The room was lovely...very clean and tastefully decorated. A good range of tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc were always supplied in the room with selection of cookies and we were impressed that you also got two bottles of still water every day.
The breakfast was perfect every day! Offered in a light and airy conservatory there was good choice of cooked food and also a good selection of jams etc including Choc Nutella which was great for my 'sweet' taste buds!!.
We were sorry to leave and would certainly return if in the area again - 100% happy customers!
I am attending a wedding in yorkshire at the weekend and I booked a reasonably priced room through laterooms and received confirmation that it was booked. The hotel have informed me that the room was never available and laterooms should not have advertised it. To add insult to injury, laterooms have now sent me a reminder email about my forthcoming stay at the filly booked hotel.
Now I have to find another hotel, which will not be near the venue and will at this late stage, undoubtedly be more expensive and a further taxi ride away at yet more expense.
I booked 2 rooms in a Guest house in Oban. One room was mis-sold because not only was it damp and smelly, but it was not even in the guest house we booked on LateRooms.com -It was a room in the guest house next door which had an advert in the window for long lets!!!!! The bathroom was not en-suite as you had to go out into the main hall to get to the bathroom and the beds did not smell fresh.
My own room was exactly the same. The beds were old and did not smell great. I don't think the bedding was dirty but I could not be sure. The paper was hanging off the walls and we did not see any member of staff the whole time we were there. It was not cheap and to make matters worse they had the cheek to try and charge an additional £9.50 for breakfast. A very poor example of a guest house in Oban.
NO WONDER SCOTLAND GETS A BAD NAME.
DO NOT STAY HERE BECAUSE I DEFINATELY WONT BE AGAIN. IN FACT I AM THINKING ABOUT WRITING TO TRADING STANDARDS FOR FALSE ADVERTISING.
It's disheartening when you see a similar accommodation in the SAME road just a few doors away WITH its OWN ensuite at over £80 CHEAPER than the hotel offered by lateRooms! And I have to share two bathrooms with TWO FLOORS of accommodation! What is the point in booking early?
I use Laterooms.com because it's easy to use and straightforward. It does what it says, and you don't waste time looking at hotels where they are full.
Furthermore , Laterooms are brilliant at sending you reminders of your booking.
Laterooms has a feel-good factor - in that they create a holiday atmosphere before you actually leave home.
Laterooms are like friends!
Booked through the Internet and got a confirmation. Hotel then emailed to say they had already been fully booked so cancelled the booking, but they failed to notify laterooms leaving me with the job of chasing up to ensure my card was not charged. Not at all happy with this, my first and probably last use of late rooms.com.
