Excellent service
Considered buying 100-300mm Canon EF lens for use on a two week safari. Lenses For Hire provided an excellent alternative to try out first, which I did on Safari. No regrets, easy service, good communication. All I would add is use their courier service for pick and delivery, made it so much easier!

Experience with Nikkor 600 mm/f4
"Lenses for hire" is recommend on many websites so naturally, "Lenses for hire" was the 1st choice for us.
We own Nikkor 300 mm/f4 which is light and sharp lens even if combined with TC1.4 and D300S (additional 1.5x crop factor giving you 630ish mm reach). You might ask why to rent another lens. Well, it is all true except one thing - good light conditions is a MUST requirement. D300s high ISO noise (or to our knowledge any other APS-C bodies) is difficult to accept.
In Andalusia, we wanted to take photos in the morning or just before sunset. We needed similar 600 mm reach for good quality photos.
Nikkor 600 mm /f4 is really heavy lens. 7.8 kg was shown on scale if combined with D700. There is no VR but it is not needed. Exposure metering on the rented lens has an offset but we corrected it by setting EV = -1.3 to -2.3 to avoid burnt out highlights. Auto Focus fine tune also needed correction to -5. We were mostly shooting f/8 which delivered crisp sharp images with fantastic DOF. We were using monopod or tripod.
The only drawback was JCA couriers which did not show up on the confirmed day to return the lens.

Minimum Fuss Maximum Service
Wanted a lens wider than my 24-70L f2.8 and Lenses ForHire was recommended to me - checked out their site saw two lenses the canon 16-35mm and the Zeiss 18mm prime ( the one I really wanted to play with) - spoke to themThursday - just missed the canon but the Zeiss was in - it was delivered by 11am the following day and they saved me £5 on the postage!
Would I use them again? Yes no doubt whatsoever !

I investigated a few lens hire places, Lenses for Hire gave a genuine, helpful, quality, easy and thorough service. From the friendly guy who returned my call and advised on the right lens, through the simple delivery at a convenient time for me, excellent range of lenses at short notice, great great lens and photos, to easy packaging and return....and the price? very affordable. You get all the time you order it for, it comes a day earlier and you send it back the day after. It was a really good service.
I would recommend them above other companies I investigated, who had many hidden costs and shorter than anticipated hire times.

Would definitely use again
Lens was delivered on time and service was very efficient. So easy to use and return. I was kept informed throughout by email from the time I ordered online. I was also very happy they don't take huge deposits like some other lens hire companies. The lens was in good condition and even came with a hood and filter. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Their systems mean you don't have to provide copies of passports and utility bills like you do for other hire places, which I think is much more professional and less risky for the customer than sending off copies of their ID.
Great quality kit and easy to follow instructions for the return courier. I would definitely use lenses for hire again!

I was looking to hire a lens for a safari holiday, I looked a lots of sites and found Lenses For Hire. When I put my request in I could not believe how cheap it was, so I was sceptical and did not place the order. I was contacted by the guys at Lens For Hire as to why I did not complete and told them why, I thought there must be a catch! No catch the price displayed is price you pay. OK I went ahead.
Well the Lens arrived on the day before I went on holiday, in a smart strong case within the hour the courier said they would be. Used the lens on holiday and it was great.
Came back and contacted the courier they collected it the same day.
This is just to say this Team are the best. Highly recommended.

Reliable and Straightforward
It was time to expand on my lens range, but lacking funds the next best solution was to hire. At least I could try before I buy eventually.
With Lenses for Hire, there were plenty of lenses to choose from, simple guides for ideal usage and a booking calendar.
The dispatch with thee courier is convenient as well.
That's all you need. Plus the team are very approachable for help and open to ideas.

I needed a long lens for a job I had lined up and lenses for hire had just the lens I needed. 50-500mm sigma canon fit. Their staff are friendly, helpful and were punctual when I picked up and dropped of the lens.

Working as a professional photographer I have hired lots of kit over the years mostly from central London, but it has been a good experiance for me to try out an alternative company to 'The Big Boys'. I was recommended to Lensesforhire by a former work colleague who photographs wildlife. I think their prices are affordable when you consider the cost of buying the lenses and I will be using them again in the near future. I wanted a fast lens for a wedding shoot where I knew that lighting might be an issue, so I got the canon 24-70mm 2.8 L Series lens for my Canon 7D.
WEll, LFH could not have been better. Lens arrived when they said it would, packed very well, with a copy of the instructions included incase anyone needed them. Also included was a return kit to send the lens back with a courier.
The lens itself was in great condition, and performed like a dream on the day, handling the low light with no problems at all and helping me nail a great wedding shoot. It was also great to try the lens before splashing out the £1000+ it's going to cost to buy my own!
