If only I found this a year ago! Im now concentrating on growing rather than data entry!

When my small ecommerce business started to grow, I noticed the majority of my time was being taken up with data entry and packaging. I was also making the smallest mistakes with the data entry that began costing the business.

Enough, I said!!

I did some research, came across Linnworks, and the description flashed up as exactly what I needed. It was also free to use their product, (obviously with restrictions). I was a bit nervous to start the implementation and begin using their product, but boy has it transformed the way my business handles orders.

Streamline and efficiency are the keywords. No more mistakes, quick order processing and the email feature to send customers an order update after dispatch has been priceless.

Like anything, it is hard to take the step, but you will be rewarded once you do, trust me!

The only negative are some small bugs now and again, but before you've had a chance to put the issue forward, there's a patch released which automatically downloads and the bug is resolved.

Amazing product for online sales management

Having been with the company for close to 5 years I have seen this software evolve and develop from its early stages to today's offering. The software is basically an off the shelf order management and inventory system that is extremely useful for any company that works with online sales. We do not know how we would manage without it!

Pros:
Connects to just about any sales platform
Seamless integration
Has the capability to manage stock ordering, inventory management and sales
Support provided by the company is second to none
Quick to adapt to and not too steep learning curve
Feature packed including invoice and Royal Mail integration
Various versions including a free version for smaller businesses

Cons:
Occasional bugs in the system - but always quickly ironed out quickly

Saves time and money

We have been using Linnworks for a short while but the amount of time it has saved us when it comes from managing orders to listing in bulk has allowed us more time to work on expanding our business.

Professional, Helpful and does exactly as it says on the tin.

I have used Linnworks for about 8 Months now and have been super impressed with the standard of service.

The product itself does exactly as stated, it keeps track of my stock, it makes life easier, and I now run a brick and mortar shop, eBay store and website without any stock problems.

I would certainly recommend Linnworks to anyone. 10/10

Ok, so after being contacted by Linnworks some of the major issues have been sorted out.

I am not going to lie my first post was very much "Late Sunday night, keyboard warrior".

That is the problem though if like me, you run your own online business, you work every hour god sends. It might be that I am trying to get stuff sorted at strange times and if I can't it is very frustrating.

I can see the potential in Linnworks and after looking really hard I know that there is not a system that has as much potential. However it is extremely over complicated and getting to grips with it has been very hard. I am by no means computer illiterate but this has stretched me.

I want to make the most out of Linnworks and see features that I know are going to make a massive difference in the growth of my businesses however as I use there more complicated features I find that the documentation online and the support via there ticketing program is lacking. I have 3 accounts with Linnworks, and spend £400 ish per month with them. I am about to open my 4th account and up grade two of my existing accounts ( I do this as I am involved in a number of different projects). At this point I will be spending closer to £600.

If I wanted the the excellent support that I know can be provided over the telephone I would have to spend £2280 per month..... and I am just not sure that it is justifiable. If I only had one account this would be £570 per month but Linnworks will not take in to account the fact that I hold multiple accounts, despite a request.

To sum up, it is ok, but the support is not, unless you spend allot of money.....

Linnworks... where to start. It is slow they over charge, and customer support is diabolical. Really, really really bad. I have wasted hours and hours in front of a computer trying to get it work and every time I just hit a wall and then have to wait 2-3 days while they sort something out.
I am leaving them does any one know anything better?

Good but some major missing functionality for us, and development team lacks capacity!

I must admint as a medium-sized-business owner, I have mixed feelings about Linnworks. As a fast growing business, our experiences are a real roller-coaster experience (lots of ups and downs).

On one hand, the system definitely offers alot of excellent logisitcs functionality for businesses... it has helped in alot of areas of our business. Linnworks are also slowly addressing issues and developing their system. It has alot of promise and would no doubt make an instant impact on a small business.

However as a fast-growing (medium sized) company we are are also presented with a number of significant isses! The most significant is that the Linnworks system won't allow us to scan stock in using the "supplier barcode" field!!!!!!!!!! This means we are having to manually count 1000s of products per week by hand. Therefore booking stock in is slow, error riden, and costly! It is really holding back our growth in certain areas of the business.

Following discussions with Linnwork's sales team, it seems the problem is Linnworks doesn't have the development team capacity to meet the demand of thier customers. Hence why my company has been waiting at least c. six months for the ability to book stock in and we still dont know when it will happen. Linnworks have confirmed they will do it... but it could be years.

Therefore be careful... if you select Linnworks, they may not be able to support the growth of your business. Hence why I feel that at the moment, it is a 3 STARS product/service (for my company... an acceptable experience but definitely some friction that is slowing down our growth).

For us, Linnworks could be a 5-star product/service with a couple of additional functionality (discussed below), and confidence that reasonable development requests could be managed in a reasonable time period.

****** UPDATE 24/10/2013 ******

I've updated this review from 3 STARS to 4 STARS because Linnworks have recently implemented "Multiple Email Accounts". This is a great step forward and a must for every company other than the smallest!

Linnworks is good, but I would be hesitant to give it 5 STARS as for my comapny, it still lacks functionality that is basic to operations...

A good example is that we can't SCAN stock in with a scanner unit. Linnworks does have a scanning system, but it doesn't use the "Supplier Barcode" field? Strange...

To summarise... Linnworks is GOOD but I would recommend considering other logistics systems as well before you buy to ensure you get all your needs covered. A missing feature and it could cost you hours and hours in manual work (we are having to manually enter all our stock into the system).

I have been using Linnworks for a year now and there is no doubt the system helps reduce resources (e.g. less pick/packing team members required, etc). It is a system with much promise!

However there is some key functionality missing that my company (and many other companies) would require! For instance:

1. You can only send emails from one address. Therefore customers and suppliers use the same email. This creates an admin nightmare. The system needs multiple email account functionality.
2. The invoice and picking lists lack critical fields that are essential. For instance, you can't add supplier product reference or supplier barcodes to the picking list. How are you supposed to find the product without this critical information?
3. You can scan stock in, but you cant scan stock in using the supplier barcode field!??!

Some good examples of flaws in the system. The lack of multiple email accounts was first highlighted by a Linnworks customer in 2011 and still not sorted.

The system is good, but not great. I would recommend you consider it, but definitely also look at other systems and think about how you would need your logistics system to operate.

Excellent - Saves 2 people out of the business

Really good software - has massively improved our stock handling and ease of shipping. Would recommend - can be tricky to tinker with, and sometimes it can crash occasionally. However, support are always improving it and adding bug fixes.

Massive time saver

A very comprehensive and flexible system. Some ways of doing things can be a bit quirky and catch you out but it is really a question of making sure you know what you are doing and exactly how they expect you to do it. Some familiarity with scripting/pseudo coding is useful (or just sub it out to them) to get the best out of the automation. There's a lot of help via the forum and videos if you don't go for training. Apparently, you can get custom training for £40ph and this can fairly much be a "show me how to do these bits that I'm stuck on".

As far as I can see, Linnworks is the de facto standard thus offers the most comprehensive integration options as far as I can find.

Saves you at least one member of staff

I have been using this sytem now for a few years, and it is the single most important part of my growing business. The tech team are constantly innovating with new marketplaces, new features - for example they have just integrated Royal Mail Dispatch Manager Online (DMO) - 1st company to do this from my knowledge.

Linnworks simplifies the tasks that take the time - consolidating sales from multi channels; one click solution for managing returns and refunding people; listing on ebay and Amazon take half the time.

Compared to other systems (Channel Advisor, eseller pro) to name a few, the cost is significantly lower, and its a fixed fee not %turnover based.

I wholehearted recommend this system. There are customers who can share their current use of it - well worth talking to Linnworks and seeing this in action.

A pure multiplicity internet business solution with reliable support that manages and greatly reduces the workload for any company!

Linnworks is a system which has freed up my time by reducing the number of tasks I am required to perform on a daily basis. Free time means more family time. This software has cut my workload in half. Now I can have orders imported into a central system with stock tracking all in one location instead of trying to manage each internet store separately. Integration with the big market places is a definite plus. I am still working on learning all of the features. I have run into a few minor bugs or mods required and customer support has been outstanding. Bravo to an excellent product with knowledgeable staff!

Value for money but sometimes does not link SKU with channel

I have linked Linnwork with 3 eBay and 1 Amazon and 1 Play account.
It works ok but sometimes SKUs does not link with channel SKU.

I first create item in Linnwork and then list items on sales channel and give the same SKU which is used on Linnwork for the given item. Sometimes it is not linked with channel and creates problem of over selling because inventory is not linked. Need to resolve this issue.

Best time saver ever.

The system is phenomenal. I used to copy/paste individual names, manually upload tracking results. With Linnworks, all my shipping is done with 2-3 clicks.

I dreaded the moment when I actually have to sell more because to me, shipping management was an unbelievable chore. Now with Linnworks, I am listing more, selling more and have more free time.

Linnworks pricing structure is very reasonable, a flat fee without any percentages off sales. I honestly do not have any improvement recommendations. Every time I thought of "I wish it did XYZ", I find it somewhere in the options.

The only thing I regret that I did not find it sooner.

Cost effective software that covers a large scale

I used the software a year back & understand that there were a lot of upgrades in that time. When I used it, it was the most cost effective software for the scope that it had. No one else seemed to cover so many channels & shipping solutions.

Linnworks provided a solution to our stock problem.

We list on Amazon, Ebay and our own 2 web sites. We had tried another product which was good but incomplete. We went to Linnworks as they had linked up with Tradebox which we use and we trusted them. Linnworks has been a length experience. The user instructions are sparse and often there is an assumption that one has knowledge - which sometimes I don't! However as we have worked in to it it has been really very good for us. I like the ability to list on the various sites (We used to use Auctiva for Ebay but no longer). The support is prompt but sometimes Linnw don't understand the question or they cannot beleive that you are asking it. I would recommend Linnworks but you need patience and time and a lot of thinking. It would be a lot easier if there was a coherent manual.

Have faith in a growing system

My first experience with Linnworks (LW) was that it was not able to easily implement our chosen shopping system. We use Interspire (4 channels) and the API available has been quite limiting. It cannot import a great deal of product information, just the sale price, title and SKU of an item. Most of the SQL had to be rewritten to import tracking numbers, product variations and such correctly and this took a good month or so to be close to completion. The support during this time was very good and as we pay for the highest level of service we were high priority.

We then moved on to integrating our other channels (multiple Amazon, eBay and Magento). The one I'm going to pick out is Magento. This was much quicker to implement and I thought I would much prefer it to Interspire. However after a couple of hours all I could think to myself was how horrible it is that I cannot change the config via SQL or other means to make it do what I want it to. Customisation has felt like a very key point and in this situation it had to be done inside invoice/email templates instead of during the configuration of integration.

After integration was complete I only seem to be able to get hold of junior support where it takes me a while to convince them I understand the problem I'm having and such simple solutions as rebooting my system is not a working fix. Sometimes I feel like I know the system better than the support (although I probably do after using it nearly every day for 8 months). Again I should mention that the senior support have been very useful and knowledgeable.

The mobile 'application' has been quite useless for us and doesn't really deserve much of a mention.

The lack of customisation in some parts does hurt when we want to use the system in ways that suit us best but as it is not bespoke software we cannot complain too much.

I find the best thing about this system is being able to query the database in different ways inside macros and order automation. The only downside is that it is SQL Server and not MySQL. This has given me massive problems when trying to query data to use on our own (linux) server without making use of the limited API.

I have not had a great deal of use out of LinnLive yet so I will not comment.

I have faith that the system will continue to get better and better as it grows.
