I have been using Linnworks for a year now and there is no doubt the system helps reduce resources (e.g. less pick/packing team members required, etc). It is a system with much promise!
However there is some key functionality missing that my company (and many other companies) would require! For instance:
1. You can only send emails from one address. Therefore customers and suppliers use the same email. This creates an admin nightmare. The system needs multiple email account functionality.
2. The invoice and picking lists lack critical fields that are essential. For instance, you can't add supplier product reference or supplier barcodes to the picking list. How are you supposed to find the product without this critical information?
3. You can scan stock in, but you cant scan stock in using the supplier barcode field!??!
Some good examples of flaws in the system. The lack of multiple email accounts was first highlighted by a Linnworks customer in 2011 and still not sorted.
The system is good, but not great. I would recommend you consider it, but definitely also look at other systems and think about how you would need your logistics system to operate.
****** UPDATE 24/10/2013 ******
I've updated this review from 3 STARS to 4 STARS because Linnworks have recently implemented "Multiple Email Accounts". This is a great step forward and a must for every company other than the smallest!
Linnworks is good, but I would be hesitant to give it 5 STARS as for my comapny, it still lacks functionality that is basic to operations...
A good example is that we can't SCAN stock in with a scanner unit. Linnworks does have a scanning system, but it doesn't use the "Supplier Barcode" field? Strange...
To summarise... Linnworks is GOOD but I would recommend considering other logistics systems as well before you buy to ensure you get all your needs covered. A missing feature and it could cost you hours and hours in manual work (we are having to manually enter all our stock into the system).
We could spend all day talking about the great virtues of Linnworks and how it handles all our selling, on both UK and international market places. It controls Stock, raises invoices, does delivery notes, prints postage and much much more. To see for yourself try the FREE trial version available from the below link:-
Really good software - has massively improved our stock handling and ease of shipping. Would recommend - can be tricky to tinker with, and sometimes it can crash occasionally. However, support are always improving it and adding bug fixes.
A very comprehensive and flexible system. Some ways of doing things can be a bit quirky and catch you out but it is really a question of making sure you know what you are doing and exactly how they expect you to do it. Some familiarity with scripting/pseudo coding is useful (or just sub it out to them) to get the best out of the automation. There's a lot of help via the forum and videos if you don't go for training. Apparently, you can get custom training for £40ph and this can fairly much be a "show me how to do these bits that I'm stuck on".
As far as I can see, Linnworks is the de facto standard thus offers the most comprehensive integration options as far as I can find.
I have been using this sytem now for a few years, and it is the single most important part of my growing business. The tech team are constantly innovating with new marketplaces, new features - for example they have just integrated Royal Mail Dispatch Manager Online (DMO) - 1st company to do this from my knowledge.
Linnworks simplifies the tasks that take the time - consolidating sales from multi channels; one click solution for managing returns and refunding people; listing on ebay and Amazon take half the time.
Compared to other systems (Channel Advisor, eseller pro) to name a few, the cost is significantly lower, and its a fixed fee not %turnover based.
I wholehearted recommend this system. There are customers who can share their current use of it - well worth talking to Linnworks and seeing this in action.
Keep up the good work guys.
Linnworks is a system which has freed up my time by reducing the number of tasks I am required to perform on a daily basis. Free time means more family time. This software has cut my workload in half. Now I can have orders imported into a central system with stock tracking all in one location instead of trying to manage each internet store separately. Integration with the big market places is a definite plus. I am still working on learning all of the features. I have run into a few minor bugs or mods required and customer support has been outstanding. Bravo to an excellent product with knowledgeable staff!
I have linked Linnwork with 3 eBay and 1 Amazon and 1 Play account.
It works ok but sometimes SKUs does not link with channel SKU.
I first create item in Linnwork and then list items on sales channel and give the same SKU which is used on Linnwork for the given item. Sometimes it is not linked with channel and creates problem of over selling because inventory is not linked. Need to resolve this issue.
The system is phenomenal. I used to copy/paste individual names, manually upload tracking results. With Linnworks, all my shipping is done with 2-3 clicks.
I dreaded the moment when I actually have to sell more because to me, shipping management was an unbelievable chore. Now with Linnworks, I am listing more, selling more and have more free time.
Linnworks pricing structure is very reasonable, a flat fee without any percentages off sales. I honestly do not have any improvement recommendations. Every time I thought of "I wish it did XYZ", I find it somewhere in the options.
The only thing I regret that I did not find it sooner.
I enjoy using linnworks and to be honest we could not run our business without it
It allows us to split stock from all venues and get best prices from all
A must for all multi Chanel ecommerce companies
I used the software a year back & understand that there were a lot of upgrades in that time. When I used it, it was the most cost effective software for the scope that it had. No one else seemed to cover so many channels & shipping solutions.
We list on Amazon, Ebay and our own 2 web sites. We had tried another product which was good but incomplete. We went to Linnworks as they had linked up with Tradebox which we use and we trusted them. Linnworks has been a length experience. The user instructions are sparse and often there is an assumption that one has knowledge - which sometimes I don't! However as we have worked in to it it has been really very good for us. I like the ability to list on the various sites (We used to use Auctiva for Ebay but no longer). The support is prompt but sometimes Linnw don't understand the question or they cannot beleive that you are asking it. I would recommend Linnworks but you need patience and time and a lot of thinking. It would be a lot easier if there was a coherent manual.
Fantastic Product. Cannot imagine be able to every work without Linworks. Would be totally lost without it.
Its transformed out operation to be very efficient and smooth. We can now concentrate our efforts in expanding onto selling on other platforms .
Best piece of inventory software out there. Never worry about overselling as this product will ensure of that. User friendly and very easy to use. 5* rating from me.
My first experience with Linnworks (LW) was that it was not able to easily implement our chosen shopping system. We use Interspire (4 channels) and the API available has been quite limiting. It cannot import a great deal of product information, just the sale price, title and SKU of an item. Most of the SQL had to be rewritten to import tracking numbers, product variations and such correctly and this took a good month or so to be close to completion. The support during this time was very good and as we pay for the highest level of service we were high priority.
We then moved on to integrating our other channels (multiple Amazon, eBay and Magento). The one I'm going to pick out is Magento. This was much quicker to implement and I thought I would much prefer it to Interspire. However after a couple of hours all I could think to myself was how horrible it is that I cannot change the config via SQL or other means to make it do what I want it to. Customisation has felt like a very key point and in this situation it had to be done inside invoice/email templates instead of during the configuration of integration.
After integration was complete I only seem to be able to get hold of junior support where it takes me a while to convince them I understand the problem I'm having and such simple solutions as rebooting my system is not a working fix. Sometimes I feel like I know the system better than the support (although I probably do after using it nearly every day for 8 months). Again I should mention that the senior support have been very useful and knowledgeable.
The mobile 'application' has been quite useless for us and doesn't really deserve much of a mention.
The lack of customisation in some parts does hurt when we want to use the system in ways that suit us best but as it is not bespoke software we cannot complain too much.
I find the best thing about this system is being able to query the database in different ways inside macros and order automation. The only downside is that it is SQL Server and not MySQL. This has given me massive problems when trying to query data to use on our own (linux) server without making use of the limited API.
I have not had a great deal of use out of LinnLive yet so I will not comment.
I have faith that the system will continue to get better and better as it grows.
Linnworks for us is a good affordable stock software system that could be an outstanding peice of software were it not for a number of characteristics that for our business model, are totally frustrating.
These annoying characteristics are as follows:
1. Picklists show parent items (made up of composites), instead of grouping by the child items contained in the parent items.
The following SKU 'IPHONE-CASE+E-HOLDER+CARCHARGER' is a parent item that contains 3 composites. If there are 25 of these parent items in orders it shows up in the picklist like this:
This picklist method makes no sense at all. The picklist should show all items in their granular form. like below.
2. The inability to hide 'parent items' from view in the following places:
In the main inventory view. When adding composites to an inventory item (search function brings up the entire inventory) and when adding items to a PO.
We have so many parent items made up from composites that it takes ages to search for an actual physical stock item when completing PO's or adding child items to a parent item.
3. the way Linnworks maps and deals with ebay variation listings. I opened a ticket about this back in august and in December, i finally had the opportunity to speak with a support guy because we were going back and forth with support tickets and nobody was actually listening to what i was saying. We lost thousands of pounds due to variation listings not updating with the correct stock quantities and featured first listings re-listing without half of the variations that it originally had.
This helps me with the flow of orders from the site through to the parcel carrier and information from the carrier to the customer. Eventually I want this to be a wholly automated process, with only exceptions requiring manual intervention of any kind. I can see Linnworks going in that direction.
It is not as helpful as I would like though, as Opencart does not integrate as well as it should or could. The 'pitch' for Linnworks gives a positive spin, frustratingly neglecting the negative points, so I am a a little disappointed.
For me, a website's purpose is to capture orders and be specially developed for that purpose. The same reasoning applies to the back end system, order processing, stock management and invoicing require a different type of thinking to a web store and Linn Systems have grasped that totally.
Linnworks is a workable solution with the potential of being an ultimate solution. Packed with features, but not always intuitive, the application is in the formative stages -- with a geek-level useability. With refinement and a bit of polish, Linnworks could mature to be an elegant and market-leading application for ecommerce.
We have been using Linnworks for nearly 12 months and have found it a valuable tool which allows us more time in marketing our products and less time in processing orders to be dispatched. Inventory control across our website, ebay and amazon is the key which also stops any over selling of a product.
Well done to the Linnworks team.
A company that is growing fast but still manages to look after its users, Excellent support staff who are very knowledgeable. Problems are sorted quickly and efficently. On the whole linnworks is a pleaseure to deal with

Within a few days of starting to list our products on eBay and Amazon it became apparent we needed help. After reading lots of reviews and much research we opted for Linnworks and very glad we did.
It looks complicated when you first start, but put a day or 2 aside to learn the basics and before you know it you'll be automated and in control of your sales and packing. There is also a great community that makes finding help very easy.
We reviewed a number of multi-channel integration systems, and in the end chose Linnworks for its flexibility and ease of integration with our existing on-line business.
Linnworks does more than any business would reasonably need, and we found it was necessary to have some support from Linnworks in order to fit the best solution from the package to our business.
Support was well provided via telephone, and all our questions answered without too much jargon. We didn't expect to find Linnworks the perfect tool, and we did have to adjust some of our established systems to suit, but for the price, we felt it was a good trade off.
We underestimated the time and effort that would be required for the integration, but in fairness, this was nothing to do with Linnworks.
In summary, a great tool, but one that needs careful thought and training.
Excellent value for money, without a doubt. Linnworks might not have all the features of some of it's older, more aggressive competitors, but it also doesn't have the audacity to charge ridiculous amounts and revenue percentages.
It more than pays for itself. We've had a few bugs along the way, but we've had some fun conversations with the tech support as well.
Also, bribing them with Wagon Wheels doesn't actually get things done. :(
We've all had our initial teething problems with a new system being implemented. The system once you get to grips with is very well put together and well thought out. Everything (vital) has been taken care of and right at your finger tips. The customisation via the scripting feature is also an added bonus for when you require specialists functionality.
The business has grown with the system and so far has coped exceptionally well, although on our subscription level we would like a quicker response via the support system. The integration and multi channel options are beneficial and supports our business rather than hindering it.
We are still learning the ins and outs and every now and then are surprised to see how sophisticated the system is. If like us you are willing to go in this system with an open mind and with a bit of patience you will find you too will succeed with it.
Not had much experience personally with other similar systems, but so far from what Linnworks/LinnLive provides it has proven sufficient for us and doing a good job of it at the same time:)
Well recommended for new growing businesses looking at Stock Management and Inventory systems.
its a program you have to take the few minutes and see how it works there are many programs who offer all kinds of different reprograms this is definitely a must have or at least give it a change to see what it does its assermann
The great thing about Linnworks is that it's an easy to use time-saver. Brilliantly configurable and superbly supported I'd have no problem recommending this application to anyone with a small to medium ecommerce operation. Perhaps not as feature rich as the big players but pound for pound the best solution out there.
Linnworks is a very effective solution to small to medium sized businesses.
I see in the Linnworks team a young energetic team of guys who are really striving to come out with the best product in the market.
The software is a dream and does it all for me. Their helpdesk is second to none.
Keep up the good work.
I have been using Linnworks for over a year now and moved to it from a competitors product. It does everything I need, is quick and easy to use, and saves hours every day. The price saving over its competitors is huge and the product in my opinion is far superior. The amount of development that is ongoing and the excellent customer support means that I expect to be using Linnworks for many years to come.
We had some things which where not working but unlike other companies we have worked in the past, Linnworks has given us a solutions in a short timeframe. It is delightful to work with what seems a dynamic proactive company with people full of energy and willing to help. I now trust we will be able to use Linnworks as we had planned and trust it will be THE backbone to our online business.
Linnworks Anywhere is an excellent multi-channel order management system. It is also very affordable with various packages for small, medium and large businesses.
No more sleepless nights since we opted to use Linnworks Anywhere. It has saved us countless hours in manually updating stock inventory across 6 different selling channels. There are many great and time saving features such as automatic invoicing, emailing, address labeling and ease of product listings to name a few. We can really focus our efforts in growing the business.
I would highly recommend Linnworks Anywhere to any businesses selling across multiple channels online.
After trying other solutions, I was recommended to try to Linnworks, that was the best advise I had all year. It has organised my e commerce channels - ebay, amazon and our own website, so our stock is always correct. I love the flexibility of linnworks and how easy it is to customise, it has made listing new products very easy.
Every question we have had, they have been very helpful in answering. Even when we have been very confused they were patient with us. When we have very tough questions, they buckled down and found us an answer, and have gone so far as to write new code just for us. All in all they have a nice service.
Linnworks is very easy to use and can be taught to a new member of staff in just a few days.
The software can also be complex, with full inventory management.
The support has got much better this year, with more useful help.
The Amazon re-pricing tool is very useful.
I would recommend Linnworks to any internet seller.
Our business has doubled every year for the past 4 years and in 2012 is was time get everything streamlined from the order processing, to order management to stock control. Linnworks was recommend to me by a friend and I am gutted that I did not know about this software package when I first started my business.
Linnworks has made has run our business ore efficiently and we are not even close to using the software to its full potential. We are in the middle of getting all the products imported and mapped so we can start using the stock control system. Everyone here at Unipack is very excited about 2013 and how the business will be run, and a huge part of that goes to the Linnworks software.
Lastly I would like to add a quick thank you in regards the fantastic customer service Linnworks offers. From the very first time I called Linnworks to get some more product information, up until today where I am receiving a lot of guidance and support. Every member of the team that I have been in contact have not only been amazing at what they do and rectifying any issues, but have been very friendly.
Thank you and Happy New Year to Everyone at Linnworks! :-)
Overall we are really happy with Linnworks - it has enabled us to expand into multiple sales channels and is functionally rich. Support has been good when we've needed it with quick responses. The only negatives are that there have been a few quirks/bugs and the interface is inconsistent across different parts of the systems with some elements of the UI being rather unintuitive.
We were looking for a software like Linnworks, and couldn't find anything that really offered everything that Linnworks did. We signed up for a free trial, and after we saw how effective the tool was for our business we went for the full version. It took a while to get used to all the functionality, in fact I'm not sure we still know even 50% of the functionality but it is really useful the part that we use until now. The support is also good despite what we read on a few forums (however, I think the posts were from some time ago). Definitely recommend this if you sell on multiple platforms (ebay, Amazon, your own webshop etc)
