I just purchased our 2 day London Pass yesterday online on their website for a group of 7 people . Received a confirmation e-mail. ALL OK. then today I got another e-mail saying "Unfortunately the transaction has failed our authorisation procedures and therefore has had to be cancelled.
If you have a voucher please destroy it as it is no longer valid. Your Credit Card has been refunded."
I called up the costumer service helpline, the girl was very helpful and polite, and confirmed that my purchase has been cancelled but cannot give me any reason, as its the order from their head office. When i asked about the refund I was also told that it was done this morning but she cannot confirm by when will i get it back in my account.. She was also not able to give me any details about the refund.( i asked for the refund confirmation transaction number). i told her there is no reason on my end as to why it should not have gone through as all my details are correct, and i have also spoken to my bank, and they have confirmed that my account has been charged correctly. The only reason i can think of is that i used a PROMO CODE which was accepted correctly at the time of purchase, to get a discount. But yet again she was not ready to accept or deny that this could be the reason for canceling my purchase...Now i have no option but to wait for my refund and to buy the Passes directly when we are in London at the FULL PRICE. i have to say that its very bad customer service. i have no problem that they cancelled my purchase, but i do expect to know WHY was it cancelled?? I would recommend all not to use any promo codes or buy online to avoid getting your money blocked. Hope my experience is helpful to all future buyers..
I had bought 2 by miss take and did not realize it until to late, The London Pass people refunded my money very quickly. No questions asked.
I got an email that there was a sale. I was not happy that I have to go to pick up the pass in London though. They mailed me a map I ordered and fail to see why that could not mail the passes as well. Same goes for the tickets to the London Eye. Those have to be picked up locally as well. Still, it is nice to save the money.
The pass concept is great, but to make it worthwhile you need to have more time options (2,3,4,5 6,7,10 days) and corresponding price options. I had to get a higher priced option in order to see what I wanted to see, but wound up paying for much I didn't use. Not worth it in the long run.
I purchased London Passes for myself and my family for a trip to the UK late November 2012 - early December 2012. The Pass was often valuable in bypassing lines and saving a lot of money. The free tube access was also quite valuable. The only complaint was that information for Monument, Crush, the Tate were out of date regarding closing times which resulted in me and my family missing these opportunities. I recommend the London Pass but I would recommend you double check with the attraction itself about opening and closing hours. Cheers from Sacramento, California.
The London Pass is a great idea, and very cost-effective if you visit lots of museums and other attractions. But we ended up doing more walking around town and the Pass simply wasn't worth it for us. That wasn't a problem with the Pass, but we did waste a fair amount of money.
We also didn't understand that the Pass wasn't always good for "special" exhibitions in museums - just for the general admission.
We ordered two passes and only one worked. Through every entrance and exit of the Underground, we had to wait for assistance in order to get though, sometimes for long moments when the agent was busy with other people. We traveled a distance to a London Pass office in an attempt to have the pass replaced or re-programmed but we were told "sorry. The card has already been used. There was nothing we could do about it".
Our London visit from the US would have been indeed more pleasant if London Pass fulfilled what they promised. These passes were costly, but did not get what we paid for. We were more than disappointed. The way we were treated when we asked for rectification of the defective card was APPALLING., UNACCEPTABLE. Wish they rectify their attitude and serve the customers better in the future.
Of course with any product it would be nice to have a few additions yet for us we saved $ and it made things so much more convenient. Hard to put a price on that aspect yet made a huge difference.
Very happy with the London Pass service- managed to skip lines everywhere and have as much free transport as we wanted. I've been recommending the London Pass to all my friends who are travelling to London!
The Londonpass was so easy to use and it had so many different places you could see! I added the travel card and it meant not having to pull my purse out each time I caught the bus or train. Made getting around really easy! Definatley would not come back to London with getting another Londonpass!
A little disappointing in terms of value for money. To travel around and see enough sights to get your money's worth back would mean spending very little time at each venue.
Really worth it if you plan on visiting a lot of the attractions available. My family and I took the 7 day pass and also purchased the transport pass which was honestly a MUST! For the attractions, we didn't have to queue, which is especially good on busy days! However, a lot of nice museums are free, so if you plan on only visiting museums, it might be best not to purchase. All in all, we don't regret buying this pass, we had a great time in London and saved money!
P.S.: The Pass book is really well organised and very easy to understand. There are maps to know where every attraction is, so we had no trouble finding anything! :)
We are a family of five, so London can be expensive. I decided that if we had prepaid for lots of tourist venues by buying the London pass, then the hassle of paying out all the time, and the perception of constantly spending, would be removed and hopefully we would see lots of sights and save money.
We rushed around London like headless chicken for 3 or 4 days and we only just broke even. If the website had made it more explicit about how many attractions would be free for children anyway, and at what age we had to pay for the underground, then we definitely wouldn't have bought the children's passes at all.
I was in London with my two teenage children last year and will be in London in November again. I have already bought my London Pass. It is quick and easy. I have saved money both on visiting sites and travel. I would and have recommended the London pass to friends.
we were in London for the week end and we appreciate to use this book to visit the monument without queue. with this book we could visit a lot of museum and monument. otherway we could visit only the tower bridge
I really enjoy my trip to London which is very lovely place.
There are so many places to visit, museum to discover.
I recommand you tu buy the London Pass in order to visit all sights you want do discover.
But, be carefull to assure you that you can use your London Pass every where because I had a bad surprise when I visit the Tussaud Museum where you can't have any reduction.
So, have a very good journey.
I will finished by "When you are tired of life, you're tired of London"'.
The London Pass helps a lot, as it gives you entrance to a lot of great places. I also recommend the TravelCard, as it lets you use every mean of transportation within zones 1 to 6.
We bought the London Pass for a 3-day visit to London and we couldn't have had anything better.
It allowed us to visit lots of London's interesting points, without having to wait in queues and, sometimes, with some additional features that, in our opinion, were awesome :)
Buying the London Pass with transportation was very useful, too.
I would recommend the London Pass to all the people I know that are planning a trip to London!
When collecting our 7 day pass at Liecester square we were not notified about the sites that were closed due to renovation or whatever, so we traveled invane to at least 3 sites, 1 I remember being The Wellington Arch, the other Apsley house and the biggest dissapointment for us was the closure for a private party of London Music Experience which made us travell all the way to O2 Arena - for nothing.
I am grateful to London Pass because thanks to you our first visit to London was unforgettable. We enjoyed everything, every minute of every day. We only regret that it was no time. On our next visit in the coming year 2014, we promise to take the full week for more fantastic places.
Gute Möglichkeit möglichst viele Attraktionen zu sehen zu einem guten Preis.
Best money I've ever spent. It's convenient, it's handy, it's valuable and you can just carry it around in your wallet, but the best part of it is the option to buy travel on the London Travel system. This was, by far, the best part of the deal.
One has to plan one's visit well to obtain value from this or any other such passes for other cities. Events such as bad weather, unexpected chance to catch up with friends. just being too tired from constant sight seeing etc can impact on one's ability to pack visiting many the places etc that one can take advantage of on the card. I also found it was necessary to queue at some venues when I had expected to to have to do say using the card.
Plan ahead - group your activities into areas - write out a rough schedule and watch your savings mount. And review your book several times - you may well be walking down a street or on a bus and see an attraction you hadn't actually planned on - with the pass you can go in have a quick look and get even more value. Highlights were obviously - the Crown Jewels (make sure you join a free Beefeater tour) and the Winston Churchill bunker. Remember also to pop into the souvenir store for your five quids credit - if you weren't planning on wasting your own money on London souvenirs - this is way better. Only downsides? Would be great if Madam Tussauds and the London Eye were on the pass (or had decent discounts available. Transport pass worked brilliantly.
