great products & excellent service
i bought 8 Isotek US plugs & IEC connectors, they were great quality as compared
to Oyaide, but only cost 66% as much, they were all copper component & 24K gold plated to prevent oxidation. only problem is i'd like to finish my pre-amp from Japan before i can get to making the new power cable, but i believe they would be a great upgrade from my old ones. again, Mains-Cables-R-Us provided excellent service in
getting the parts to me that i would recommend they to any friend.

Made to order
I ordered something not from stock, elements had to be hand built. Despite that I received the order in just over a week. Very pleased with it as it does the job even better than expected.
I just emailed David with a number of questions. He replied in about two minutes, very impressive.

Item advertised as in stock but has not shipped 2 weeks after ordered and paid for.
Main Cables Are Us sells nice items. In particular I have bought 2 power extension for my Hi-Fi from MCRU.
Once it went smoothly. Once the extension had to be shipped unassemblied because the shipping cost advertised did not cover the real shipping cost to send it assembled (it was a relatively long 6 gang extension). So I had to assembly it from the separate shipped parts at my expense. This time, I have paid for my third extension two weeks ago and it is still being prepared for shipping (although it was advertised as in stock).
Nevertheless the quality of the products is good and I am not implying any malicious intent at all. I just would like MCRU to be more... organized.

I am very organized, all mains blocks and mains leads are made to order, yours is built and on test, you wouldn't want me to send it out un-tested would you? The comment you are making about sending a block out un-assembled is in-correct, perhaps before posting you should ask if there is a problem at all, you would have been told I am extremely busy and your order is about to be dispatched.

Great advice and service as allways
Rang Mains cables-r-us for some advice on speaker cable, in particular Tellurium Q black. Got great advice from them, and about 10 minutes later the cables were on their way. Arrived two working days later, and they live up to every expectation. Great service and product!

Excellent product, brilliant service
I bought the 'cables r us' power supply for a Chord Qute Dac to replace the standard (rubbish) power supply. The difference was outstanding: less sibilance, better definition, improved imaging and a big increase in the quality and quantity of the bass. It was impressive straight out of the box but 'broke in' after about 24 hours and took another step up in quality. The power supply was extremely well finished, so much so that you would think you were looking at something that was closer to £1000 than £150.
I ordered it for next day delivery and it arrived on time. David e-mailed several times to check that everything had arrived and that I was with happy with the product.
Highly recommended from start to finish. Well done David and thank you.

outstanding as good has Hi-Fi Tuning fuse's
I'm using Hi-Fi Tuning fuse's in most of my componant's but i need two more so i purchased 2 of the 24k gold plated Bussmann fuse's and they are as good as the Hi-Fi Tuning fuses in every way and the plating is outstanding.

Cables that really work, good science and great prices
I have been into hi-fi ever since I replaced the cartridge on my dad's Imperial radiogram and used Plasticine to weight the stylus. So 40 years of tinkering etc. My first experience of the effect of mains cables came from the Penta show at Heathrow and by co-incidence it was Graham Nalty (Black Rhodium) using a new mains lead to improve the sound of one of his own design amps. I have over the last 15 years tried various DIY and manufacturers blocks and cables, borrowing some to test and making up my own as well as purchasing cheaper and pricier options. I have made two purchases from MCRU that have transformed my sound quality and it is the best tonal balance, clarity and foot tapping enjoyment I have ever had from a system. First purchase was Mains Lead No.27. Immediate improvement with this plugged straight into wall socket to amp and more expensive well know lead straight into wall to CD. As Malcolm Steward says it is a "killer cable" and the magic (my words) is in the sum of the parts working together. I have emailed David numerous times and always received great advice and answers. It was the No. 27. Cable that convinced me that in my house and system, RFI must be a problem as the improvement gained by the double RFI action of cable sheath (Faraday Cage) plus Carbon Infused Sleeve was so good. I decided to follow through and get a mains block. The RFI and plating science David follows seems to be sound. I could not afford to buy a No. 44 mains block and add the Carbon Infused Sleeve to it. I decided to go for the Audiophile Silver plated mains block, opted for the silver cable, added Carbon Infused sleeving and one of the new AMR gold plated fuse. Cost £132.20 inc. P&P. The big questions were- will this be better than plugging straight into the wall? And will the sound be improved? No surprise to know that it is a big yes to both questions. I advise anyone to try David's Cables but do dialogue with him as it is instructive and enlightening. He makes the differing products in his range for very good reasons. I think my more expensive woven cable may just get replaced by another No.27, but not before I email David first!!

They didn't have a part in stock but contacted the manufacturer and got back to me the next day (when they said they would). Friendly, not the cheapest for each component but overall price was right! Will buy from again.

Wondercable
The MeiCord ethernet cable when connected between my Gigabit switch and network audio player ( Naim ND5 XS) produced a vast improvement in sound quality with improved bass, clarity and sharpness of vocals and instruments and good timing.

Faultless! A delight to deal with.
I had just bought myself a decent Arcam amp/cdp set up and a friend with a similar set-up suggested that by upgrading the power leads and mains block that I would hear further sonic improvements. I've always been sceptical about the benefits of these "amazing" improvements just by changing power cables. My friend heartily recommended Mains Cables-r-us, and said that if I didn't hear any improvement within 30 days I could always return them and get a full refund. OK I thought, I'll give it a shot and contacted MCRU. All I can say is that from start to finish I have received nothing short of excellent service, superb communications, and despatched exactly when they said it would be. The leads and block are of a very high quality, and yes they have made a difference! Not "night and day" as some people would have you believe, but a subtle one nonetheless. For someone like me who listens to my hi-fi a lot this is money well spent I reckon, and I shall certainly be contacting MCRU again as and when I need further AV accessories.

Good communications are essential
I have found it very refreshing dealing with this supplier. To have virtually instantaneous replies to queries makes the shopping experience both rewarding and satisfying.
The range of products is good and if not in stock you are told how long it will be before they are.

Friendly & professional, website could be improved
A problem with item being out of stock was sorted out quickly and professionally by the owner, once highlighted. Would certainly consider using them again. Some simple improvements could be made, though. Website could do with system to show whether item is in stock / can be ordered etc. More images - larger and close-up - would help browsers to assess build quality and specification, especially for MCRUS own brand items. Similarly, a 30 day trial for cables / mains blocks etc would give buyers real confidence. Can't see anything like that on the site right now. Wouldn't risk £200 plus on an 'Ultimate' cable without such facility. Hope this helps. Best regards, Paul

Rebuilding my Hi-Fi system has been one long jig saw puzzle. A performance ceiling had been reached. Thanks to two purchases the jig saw is complete (for the time being). First was Belden 83803 (DIY) mains cable for the power amplifier. Second was Vermouth Audio Black Pearl Interconnects between CD player and Pre-amp in conjunction with 10dB attenuators. The end result is a musical system which my wife has been heard to describe as "fantastic".

They are not very good in services
I bought the main cable . It was run out,but they don't tell me until I phone them and they tell me that, it is run out. I just give them 2 stars for servicing.

A little Disappointing.
Read the reviews about this company and gave them a go. Got some good info about new IEC connectors and decided to buy a pair recommended by David, Furutech F1-11R,s!!
Unfortunately the pair I chose were not in stock but it took a week before I was told of the error, from that point on things just didn't get much better? A supplier/manufacturer problem delayed all shipments and no amount of sourcing could come up with any IEC's to fill the order. Around three weeks after ordering the first one arrived, it was then another two wks before the next arrived, a modified version so I have two examples of the same thing!! Not much you can do in those circumstances when you cant get stock but the responses, for the most part, had to be prompted by me to find out what was happening as I am not the type to accept occasional one line answer's that just state the obvious!!
Nothing malicious about any of the correspondence just simply not enough detail, also felt that phone calls could have improved matter's and where, if explained what the problem was, we could have altered the order to something else and done away with the all the bother, but, ce la vie!!
The connector's tho were definitely as described by David so no fault there, right on the money, far superior to the standard wattgate 320i that I replaced, superb sound overall and much better value than their price would suggest, from that point of view the bloke knows his stuff, other areas however just need a bit more work, 5 and a bit wks is a bit much?

Unfortunately on this one occasion the supplier let me and subsequently you down, there was no mention in your comment about me trying to get you a connector from the Munich Hi-Fi show to try my best to resolve this problem, occasionally supply of popular products is in short demand but 5 weeks is a bit long, I will try harder next time and thanks for the honest review.

Can't believe the quality for the price
Ordered the Mains Cables-r-us Lapp Offlex mains cable (2 metre length) with Wattgate 320i iec and MK Tough Plug all with silver plated pins and contacts on the 17th May. Took a little longer that I expected arriving on the 29th May. This may be the standard lead time but it would be useful to have some idea that this is the case. Having said all that I was very impressed with the look of the cable even before I connected it up. Beautifully constructed and really looking the business. I hooked it up to my CD player (Creek Audio Destiny) and straightaway noticed an improvement in the sound. It's now been in use for a couple of days and has continued to get better and better completely transforming the sound. Lovely tonality, splendid detail and very clear bass lines are but three of the major improvements I've noticed. I have been using Russ Andrews (now discontinued) Yello Mains Cables and the obvious step up would be their Classic Reference. However, at £147 for a 2 metre length this is more than double the price of the Mains Cables-r-us and does not even have the silver plating. What a bargain my new purchase is! Despite the many claims made for Russ Andrews Kimber cable the German made Lapp Offlex seems more than a match for it and I believe I would have to spend a very great deal more in order to top the quality of sound I'm now getting. As soon as funds provide I intend to purchase another two leads for my pre and power amps. Thank you.

Excellent Product and Service
Linear Power Supply (Upgrade PSU) for Cambridge Audio DACMagic Plus.
These PSUs are hand-built, so can take a week or two to receive.
I specified the Kimber DC Cable as an upgrade to the PSU.
On receipt, even straight out of the box I can hear a difference, everything sounds more defined and "analogue". Also, low and high-freqencies are improved, bass is tighter and cymbals "ring" more naturally.
Cosmetically the quality is good too. The PSU was well-packed.
RRP for the above PSU with the cable upgrade is around £250, so not cheap, but I think it was worth it.

No-one could do better - MCRU is tops!
Bought a Moth RCM from Mains-Cables-R-Us, and I gotta say it is really good. Am well pleased with it. The chap who runs Mains-Cables-R-Us (David Brook) is very good to deal with, nothing is too much trouble and he offers a fast, friendly service. I have already cleaned some of my records and they are like new, no, better than new! There is definitely more detail to be heard in certain recordings now they are thoroughly cleaned. I am very happy.

Excellent company and product
I found the website informative and easy to use. The order was efficiently dispatched and I was kept up to date by emails as to the progress of the order. The Isotek ultimate system set up disc I ordered proved to just as useful as the review I had read indicated. It does much more than just identify channels and correct phase. It enables you to very accurately position your speakers for maximum detail in both width and depth of the sound. Lastly, it has several useful demo tracks of different types of music.
Well worth the money.
