I usually rave about Mamas and Papas and everything pretty much for all 4 of my children has been from here - however I usually shop in store.
This time, to save dragging 4 kids down the motorway to the store, I decided to buy online - paying the £4.95 postage which I think is way too high considering the products themselves aren't exactly cheap either.
Well, after receiving an email saying my order will be delivered on Friday and it not turning up, numerous calls to the customer care team all of which I was promised a call back to explain what was actually going on and when my order will actually make an appearance - none of the calls were returned - I had to keep calling back - to an 084 number costing a fortune.
Now on Monday night, and still none the wiser as to when my order will be delivered or where it is. No calls back either. I have now managed to get hold of the email address of the CEO so I have emailed him and the customer care team - lets see if I finally get a response.
Totally disappointed and they have now lost a valuable customer.
So far my experience has been bad, I've bought several things from mamas and papas, on every occasion items have been out of stock then supplied with promise dates that have not been delivered on.... the sales person is either lying or the company is just run by poor management. Ive just been notified that my delivery has once again been delayed ( 3rd time ) thats 2 months over due...
In my previous business experience companies that continue to fail with supply are the ones which have financial difficulties...
Are mamas and papas going bust?
Bought a nursery set (cotbed, drawers and wardrobe) from mamas and papas. The furniture is damaged and there are parts missing as well. I have waited a long time for delivery of the set and am now 10 weeks away from my due date and facing the prospect of an incomplete nursery thanks to mamas and papas. WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND BUYING ANY FURNITURE FROM THEM!!! I wish I had read the reviews before buying as well as there are a lot of people that are disappointed with the furniture set that I have ordered, its not just me!!!
I love Mamas and Papas products and if their snooty shop staff and online problems could be rectified in some way then they would get a full 5 stars from me.
Like I said the products overall are very good, fashionable and functional and both my girls have loved everything I have bought from there. My most recent purchase the Ziko Frankie stroller in pink is fab, good quality and sturdy! However the delivery system leaves a lot to be desired! I get sent an e-mail saying it has been shipped but there is no tracking number or any other details. I have just ordered the Baby Snug in Raspberry and simply got an e-mail saying it should be with you in 1 day! Well it hasn't arrived today and I'm a little bit miffed, no tracking data or anything sent! All they need to do is have a 'track my order' bit like other companies and when the item is dispatched add the tracking number! It's not hard!!
Next the staff! Well the shops are lovely, really well laid out and have a variety of items laid out so you can 'touch and feel' so to speak! However th staff can be a bit obnoxious sometimes. I have had two completely different experiences in the same store, the first when I was in jeans and t-shirt and the staff could not have been more rude, in fact they completely ignored me! The second whilst I was wearing my work gear which is typically a suit or similar! They were all over me that time! In my opinion if you look like you have money then they are all over you!!
So Mamas and Papas add a decent tracking facility to your website and tell your staff that just because I wear jeans and a t-shirt on my day off it doesn't mean I can't afford your products!! Then you'll have 5 sar service to be proud of!
Had bought very expensive pram (travel system) from them. Which needed a small repair.
Took it back to the store paid a small fee for repair as pram was out of warranty!
On going back to collect repaired pram, there were marks on it that had not been there before!!
No problem for the store manager!!
He just gave me a brand new pram there and then :)
Wish all stores were that easy to deal with.
Highly recommend them!!
