Informative, knowledgeable staff and excellent service.
The staff were very informative and made a sometimes complecated explination of a product easy to understand what is was capable of. Such a plesant experience made it easy for us to decide on what we wanted and we left having purchased a new digital piano.

Great service from Family run independent music shop
I had seen the flute I was interested in online but thought I would like to try before buying. I was given the chance to try three flutes in a separate quiet area and not hassled at all. To be given the choice was great and the lady who served me was a credit to the shop.

Superb unbiased advice and helpful friendly customer service
I went to Mann's to both see about getting my trusty flute of 20 odd years either repadded or serviced and fixed (sticky pads, random squeaks, difficult or missing bottom notes), as well as to look at buying a new flute. Not only did I have excellent and knowledgeable advice given about the condition and economic viability of my old flute, but helpful and unbiased advice about the range of new flutes on sale, and the opportunity to try out a number, without any pushiness, and even though I arrived at 5.10 with the shop closing at 5.30 - and even though I did not plan to buy the new flute at that point! Have now bought new flute, following a considerable amount of time, playing and trying out a number of different makes, and delighted not only with my purchase - how glorious it sounds! - but also with the hard case, cleaning cloths and stick, and fleecelined carrying case all included in the price! I would definitely recommend Mann's Music! For any instrumental purchases - staff work hard to learn their products so that they can give good and unbiased advice. Very pleased! Thank you Tim and thank you Mann's Music!

100% customer care- This shop has passion for Music
I first phoned inquiring about hiring a saxophone so I was told the terms/opions and how i went about hiring one, Cathy was really helpful within 2 days I was in the shop picking up my saxophone.
Since then I found a teacher from the web-site and at this point I have had lessons
and I am really enjoying it, I have been back in the shop since and bought some more accessories for it, and extra Reeds and I already have my eye on a Sax for when the 20 months are up when I can use my voucher to put towards a new Sax.
So many thanks to Mann's music.

Nothing too much trouble!

Talented service
I went into the shop with my shy 17 year old son. I had wanted him to develop from his acoustic classical Spanish range of playing for sometime. A very knowlegable and talented young salesman was playing around with an electric guitar. The inspiration and following gentle dialogue resulted in a great purchase and we are now exploring the potential of the new instrument. You couldn't want for a better service.

Very competent and knowledgeable staff
I went in to look at piano stools. Whilst initially thinking these seemed quite expensive, I researched via the internet and accepting that there was a small premium to pay by buying from the shop, I went back to the shop whereby the member of staff remembered us and went out of his way to assist.
The £ 5 we paid above internet prices was well worth it!
Will buy all music items from there.

Excellent Service
I recently purchased the "Paragon LP80 Guitar,a padded case ,a Guitar bag (for Spanish guitar and a ne Guitar strap. All items were delivered promptly and in excellent condition.
I am very pleased with the Guitar and it rate extremely highly.
I would definately recommend Manns Music to other customers and would use them for my next purchase.

Very reliable, client friendly organisation.
Manns Music sent the wrong guitar - I asked for natural and they sent a black guitar. I believe this was a genuine mistake. Once told of the problem they immediately asked I would return the guitar and they would pay the postage costs from Italy. Returning the guitar would be a hassle, specially taking into account the return cost at 64 euros. I decide therefore to keep the black guitar and they offered a discount for the trouble caused, which I accepted. The Managing Director dealt with the whole affair within 30 minutes.

Great products and great service
The only music shop in the area that we could find that held stock of baritone ukulele. Great selection of products, tuned the instrument for us to try and very helpful service. Highly recommended.

FRIENDLY, APPROACHABLE SERVICE WITH IINTEREST
I recently had occassion to buy from the shop as well as having bought on line on a number of occassions. The staff were friendly and helpful and happy to discuss the ukulele I was buying in terms of pros and cons. The internet has always been quick and efficient to buy from. The shop demonstrated that the staff enjoyed their products and were interested in talking to their customers.
I have since read the comments by one user who was a first timer. I know how he feels about going into music shops and the 'experts' acting with distain. I can only say that was not my experience and I am sure if the manager is present he would give all assistance that he can; he certainly seemed an approachable and helpful person at the time I went in.

I have never had a problem when dealing with Mann's. There is respect for the customer at all levels in the store. Queries are dealt with efficiently and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Still the best around
The service I received was excellent. I didn't have to wait at all before an assistant both greeted me and offered to help me. The assistant was thorough when demonstrating the instrument I purchased, helped me pick the best book for a beginner in that instrument and assured me that should I need any further help related to this visit that I could just come back.
I have used Mann's Music for 25 years for all of my music needs, and it is the only place I would consider going.

Excellent service from the seller - item came earlier than advised.
An ingenious design of table-top music stand, made by Tiger. Well-constructed and made. Folds nice and compact and fits into a well-made bag. Perfect for holding a music file so that one can sing or play from a seated position in rehearsal, down the pub etc.

Excellent advice, service and delivery
Had researched a Roland piano for some time, but really needed to try the various models and talk to a pianist.
I was given very impartial advice, and it quickly became clear that I did not need a more expensive model. I am very very happy with the choice I made.
My young son was treated as well as I, albeit he was more interested in the lego for some of the time!
Would not hesitate to use or recommend Manns.

Snobby, unhelpful, aloof staff. Mann's music need to man up.
I'm a first time guitar buyer and a complete novice, you know how it is: going into a music shop is daunting. Guess what these guys don't help that, they offered no help and didn't even listen to my questions. The staff looked down their noses at me and didn't even give me so much as a free plectrum and a pat on the back to tell me I had bought a good product. Turns out I like my guitar, how good is it? It keeps tune and that's all I can tell - I'm a novice! Mann's music need to man up and take customer service seriously. I went to allegro music and they were super helpful, and I felt OK explaining that I had never played before unfortunately they just didn't have the guitar I wanted. My advice buy from allegro if you can, avoid Mann's unless you reall want that guitar!

Reliable, Trustworthy Advice - Super Speedy Delivery
I went in the shop - just looking for a piano. Was advised by a very helpful gentleman, who basically sold it to me in about 5 seconds!
Payment was easy, and to my surprise they said they could deliver the next day and before I was heading out for the day. Now that's what I call personal service.
Would highly recommend for any musical needs.

OK - Not the best guitar in the world but good service and honest opinions
When I was looking for a cheap acoustic guitar for my daughter I initially thought that Mann's Music would probably be too expensive. However, a quick visit to the shop proved me completely wrong. Paragon may not be the best make of guitar ever but for the money it fitted exactly with my requirements (and from my limited knowledge of guitars it wasn't that bad). Better still, the assistant was completely honest about what I could expect. All round, I was very happy with the experience.

These guys really know their stuff!!
I have just purchased a digital casio PX850 piano for my son. As it was to be a surprise I was heavily reliant on the experts at Mann's Music store to demonstrate the different alternative products available in my price range. Other stores that I have visited just seemed to want to sell one particular brand and I was pleasantly surprised by the salesman at Mann's who took his time to demonstate the different pianos and advise on their pros and cons. We ordered it on the Saturday and took delivery on the following Wednesday.
My son it absolutely thrilled with it!

Mann's Music - Music to my ears!!!!!!
Hi, I was stuck for ideas for a surprise present to complete my daughter's birthday gifts. She is away from home at University studying Music and is setting up a business to run Music workshops for children, so I thought I would choose some items to add to her stock of percussion instruments, however, there was the issue of postage. Mann's Music came up when I did a google search for music shops in Colchester and Wow, what a super selection of instruments and music related items at a range of prices, I was spoilt for choice! Not knowing a great deal about instruments, I found their categories and descriptions really useful. Their offer to order online and collect from their shop meant no delivery charges so I could afford to add another item to my purchases. When I requested that they keep the items so my daughter could collect them later in the month on or after her birthday, they were extremely helpful. My daughter thought it was great! She went into the shop and collected her mystery package with no hassle at all and enjoyed a look around Mann's fabulous shop and got some ideas for her Christmas present list while she was there! On opening the parcel she was delighted with the instruments I had selected and was amazed at the quality and variety for the amount of money spent.
I received an email from Mann's notifying me when the instruments had been collected and by whom, so I knew the whole transaction was completed and had gone smoothly which was reassuring, along with the knowledge that my daughter could change any items if they were not what she wanted.
All in all, I would thoroughly recommend Mann's Music to anyone, their online shop is super and easy to access, their handling of the order, efficient, their customer service, helpful and polite and their Colchester shop a real Aladdin's cave, a delight for all musicians.
I would like to thank Mann's Music for making it possible for me to give my daughter a special, personal present and make it a fun, surprise on her birthday.
