Good products

Some people say m&s are expensive compared to supermarkets, they would be right, however, after trying just a handful of their products, thansk to some vouchers I received, I can safely say I will be shopping their occasionally. You really do get what you pay for, and some of the food selections are just divine

I ordered some furniture, they after 6 weeks chased them
they said its going to be further delay by 2 weeks
they can improve on commnication but it was worth the wait for the furniture

They're good, but they're pricey. I only use them for treats and special occasions.

Also tend to find a lot of items out of stock

Rubbish

My experiences are extreme. MOST rubbish site i've used - on a par with 24/7 sites. Dont use them. The shop is great though. Bought a wicked jacket in there the other day good price too. Rubbish web site - rubbish web site - rubbish web site - r... OK?

Should not do this to their customers

My son worked in M&S and for some reason he was sacked.I and my wife were then told that we can not shop in M & S WHY? we are just shoppers we did not work for them.Will defiantly not shop there ever again

Good experience

I purchased a pair of Jeans from this company and it arrived in a timely manner and they are a good fit. However, the color nuance was not exactly as it seems on a photo. But nevertheless, I received a very nice piece of wardrobe I'm very happy with.

French jeans don't fit UK women! Thanks for M&S!

Living in gorgeous sunny SW France life is good, except when it comes to buying clothes to fit my English figure. M&S to the rescue with brillliant web shopping experiences. Accurate measurements and the select your perfect jeans tool is amazing! Reasonable delivery charges and very prompt service. Keep up the good work and thanks!

Best Chickens from Marks

I love Marks food, esp their chicken - Oakham chickens. I cannot understand why this Oakham chicken is so under-discovered. Try Oakham chicken from Marks and you will never eat chicken from elsewhere.

Rubbish Delivery Service

Its a shame it can only go down to 1 star!!!!

I ordered a sofa bed for our holiday home, arranged to go down on a Friday to receive it. I got a call 2 days before to say they wold only deliver between 7 and 9 in the morning. They would n't listen to the fact that I live 200 miles away only saying they would change to another day but it may till be 7-9 to fit in with their carriers and I would be charged another £100. I asked to speak to a supervisor but was told that there wasn;t one!

I left home at 00.30 and arrived at 4 in the morning to make sure I could be there.

I wrote to the director or to complian on the 'Chairm,ans' email address but only got reply from office boy.

They're still at the top - and no wonder!

Whatever some people say, a trip into town wouldn't be the same if M&S was absent. The quality of their furniture is superb - my sofa and nest of tables will definitely see me out - and the range of clothes is equally good, especially when the Sales are on. My only gripe during Sales is that too often the men's range is more limited than the women's! And if all that wasn't enough, Cafe Revive provides a perfect latte and iced bun. But there's more, all sorts of different services including foreign currency cash machines (at my local branch) and cheaper gas & electricity tariffs. No wonder M&S remains so popular!

Really good quality M&S

M&S provide brilliant quality goods for the money. Clothes, food and of course their service is superior to most other supermarket / retail chains. I’m so glad we have still got this brand on the high street. Thanks so much M&S:-)

no stock, lousy web site

The school uniform i wanted was out of stock even though showing in stock on the web site. Eventually the items came back in stock and i made purchase. Order tracking was useless, just said it had been despatched. No delivey date given. Tried to leave review and it was rejected- i presume because i was honest about the service.

m&s online shopping service now complete unreliable shambles

how can a shopping service work if customer's chosen items can be removed from their basket without their consent ?

also, why are items retained in confirmed order removed and notified as unavaliable only days before delivery is due ?

the whole online shopping service has deteriorated massively and has to be repaired ASAP

Bring back the carpet!

Now that M&S have done away with carpeting they've turned all their stores into Littlewoods! If I wanted to shop at Littlewoods (if I could) I would; and now I can - but at M&S prices.

What's the next change for M&S, drop the &S and add atalan?

Online I ordered some more dining chairs to match the M&S chairs I currently own. I ordered online and ordered the same name as the ones I previously ordered. The description was the same and they looked the same. However unknown to me they changed the fabric used and when they were delivered did not match the ones I had originally bought. While the delivery guys were still there I spoke to the customer service department and said I wanted to refund them. They said I would have to pay £100 to cancel the order. The 2 chairs ordered only cost £199. Apparantely all furniture is made to order and can not be cancelled without a charge. I said that surely under the distance selling act the consumer had rights and you could take items back. I even offered to take the chairs back to a store myself but was told that I couldn't do that. Eventually they reduced the charge to £50. I think this is totally out of order and will never buy anything from them again - even a sandwich - they have lost a good customer for good over £50. Please advise anyone you know not to buy goods online. I learnt the hard way.

I like Mark & Sparks!

I am a US resident and citizen who worked 25 years in Asia. I always shopped at Marks and Sparks on Oxford Street, London. I especiallly like the way men's trousers are sized and displayed. I still visit the UK twice a year and I head for M&S. I have been a steady customer for about 45 years.

Celebration bouquet of very poor quality and excessive price

I bought a celebration bouquet of flowers for my wife for Christmas, together with some perfume - which according to the Marks & Spencer web site would be delivered free.
They arrived, both on the same van at the same time, but with a £4.95 charge to deliver the tiny bottle of perfume. I complained to Marks & Spencer and a very offhand rep effectively told me to get lost, and refused to cancel the delivery charge.
The flowers were OK, not as nice as the illustration, but were not delivered in a "gift bag" as advertised, but in a cheap cardboard box.
Very disappointed with Marks & Spencer over this - no wonder they are going downhill again if this is how they act.

Generally shop in M&S two or three times a month in various departments.

All staff are friendly and helpful.

Just watch out for the delivery charge, even on small items. Generally excellent quality and very good customer service.

Not quite got online shopping yet.

I ordered a Jacket, two trousers as a suit, plus 3 shirts. 7 day deliver was not particularly impressive, but sort of OK. What really brassed me off was the day before delivery, a full 6 days after the order, they did not have the exact shirts in stock, and were not restocing, so deleted off the order. Sent me an email, but I do not read my home email daily. Next day order arrives, no shirts. Nothing on the advice note, so we assumed it would follow. Checked the order tracker a few days later, shirts missing off the order - no note to say they had been deleted, only after ringing, did I find the email buried in amongst all the junk mail.
(1) when you take an order online - you should reserve stock and make sure it can be delivered.
(2) ensure order documentation shows changes from what was ordered.
It is a good thing all the suit parts arrived - if they had cancelled the trousers then I would have had a useless jacket.
M&S - the suit was good, the shopping experience rubbish - please sort out your systems to be as good as the products.

Poor customer service at Fareham store

I tried to collect an item ordered in store at Fareham on the 28th December and having qued the woman behind the counter said I couldn't have it as the computer system was not on untill the following day even though the email I had recived and printed out gave all the details, and there was no notice out front of the store regarding restrictions on collection of orders only return of goods. Went back the next day gave my name to a younger female assistant who took two steps picked up the item handed it to me and that was it. Poor service day one and an unesscessary repeat visit day two.

Good Shopping Experience

I have shopped online with M&S a number of times now; buying items ranging from clothes to furniture. I have nothing but praise for them.
