as above, but please please please do not pass my e mail address on to anyone else.
got this company off the internet so not sure what to expect, but pleased to say we had a very positive experience with them. Reasonably priced, fast and efficient, they gave us just what we wanted without any hassle. I can highly recommend them .
Surveyor was very easy to speak to also explained that survey we had paid for was the incorrect one acne arranged refund due to survey being a homebuyers report .excellent service would certainly recommend Miller Metcalfe
I would definitely recommend Miller Metcalfe surveyors. Following the survey they performed I received a call from the surveyor himself just to give me a heads up on the potential issues that he'd seen and he provided some very useful (impartial) advice. I received a copy of the survey by email a couple of days later and was very pleased with the service overall.
The survey on the property that i commissioned Miller Metcalfe to conduct resulted in a professional report. I was reasonably satisfied with the survey but i would have liked the surveyor to have gone into the loft space to check out any asbestos contamination. The surveyor stated that they did not want to damage the paintwork as the entrance was duct taped; i would have thought a complete survey would have been beneficial given the fact that asbestos contamination in the roof void is a major factor for the purchase.
I was very happy with the speed in which the survey was organised and completed! It was stress and hassle free and I recieved the survey in my inbox a couple of days after it had been carried out. There was a lot of information to read through but it was all very useful and the survey brough out things that I would have never noticed myself, which is exactly the reason I had one done. The price was very reasonable and the only thing I would have preferred is if the surveyor had valued the property without knowing what I was intending to offer...that way the valuation wouldn't have been influenced and I feel I would have got a more genuine valuation; instead the surveyor valued the property at exactly what I said I thought it was worth. But overall I was satisfied with the outcome!
We needed full structural buildings survey because walls had been knocked through to extend house. Miller Metcalfe were cheapest, and came recommended. They won't let you specify any particular aspects to look at, nor let you be present at the survey, but they tell you that up front. You get a very detailed, well-written report, and they identified up some woodworm (weevils actually) that we got sorted before moving in. But what they missed was the main reason for wanting the full works was that some load-bearing walls had been removed downstairs, upstairs walls and stairs were cracking, and cracks through the rear wall, all of which we discovered within three days of moving in. We needed to pay for a second survey from a local surveyor to tell us the worst.
Everyone I dealt with at Miller Metcalfe were very courteous and I thought the cost was very good, however, the report was late and I had to chase them up. When it arrived it had some minor spelling/grammatical issues which I could happily overlook but the main issue was that parts of the property did not conform to building regulations and this was not noted in the report. It recommended we have a damp survey and it was only through this that the aformentioned issues came to light and we decided not to proceed with the purchase. Not a bad report on the whole but I'm glad we got a second opinion.
I done a quote online and they were the cheapest and had the best reviews. They dont usually do my area but after speaking to them on the phone they arranged a surveyor to come round the next day and complete the search. The day after i recieved a phonecall telling me briefly about the search results and then the next day i recieved thr full report via email.
Couldnt have asked for a more simple or better service.
The phone staff at Miller Metcalfe were polite and efficient and instructed the survey within a few days. The surveyor phoned me in the evening after the survey and went through all the points he had made in the report. I thought his manner was very friendly and he certainly gave me confidence that the survey had been carried out by someone with a lot of knowledge and skill. I found the service to be excellent and well worth the money.
I booked the full structural survey (now called a building survey) with Miller Metcalfe on a property I was purchasing. I received a confirmation email straight away and was updated throughout the whole process by email. They called me to make an apointment to attend the property and again this was followed up by an email confirmation. Miller Metcalfe attended the property when they said they would and were there for the time they said they would be there.
Having had a full structural survey on a Grade II Listed building previously, I was disappointed with the amount of information in the building survey which Miller Metcalfe did for us. The amount of information to my mind was minimal and most of the items highlighted were either common sense items or items I would have been able to see/find for myself. An example of this is the wisteria at the front of the property which they pointed out could be a problem. However that being said the survey did point out most of the potential issues with the property.
Since moving I have found an issue which Miller Metcalfe did not include in their survey which was disappointing.
I asked for and received exactly what I was informed that I would get.
A detailed HomeBuyers report. Carried out in a polite, professional manner. With an emailed printable report two days later as promised.
I did not require a postal written report, as I was able to print out direct from the accompanying email zip file. Everything was explained properly, thoroughly and in plain English and I was satisfied overall with the service and would recommend the company to anyone for this type of report.

Miller Metcalfe were very professional in contacting us after we did a search for a surveyor on Google. The young lady we spoke to knew what she was talking about and was very helpful and not pushy. After we received the survey report we needed to enquire about something on the report we didn't understand. We telephoned the Company and the lady who answered the call new exactly how to answer what we needed clarification on. Brilliant service.
I had a full survey carried out and was pleased with the service that I received. The surveyor arrived on the confirmed date and time and the emailed report, which was very thorough, landed in my inbox 7 days later. I liked the personal touch of the surveyor calling me on the evening that he viewed to explain highlights of the report, as he knew that I need the report hastily. I would certainly use the company again – very happy with the overall service!
The surveyor that attended my home seemed very experienced and was particularly helpful. HE answered all of my questions and gave a full detailed report. THe service from the survey team was also faultless, great communication and easy to contact.
Got the report back within the agreed timeframe. This service saved us £000’s on a house we were looking to buy. Due to the report highlighting the repairs required we have since put an offer on a different property and used Miller Metcalfe surveyors again. Reliable, honest and professional service.
My experience with Miller Metcalfe was highly professional throughout. After making a booking on their easy to use website, for a survey I was contacted by a member of the team within an hour to finalize some details and confirm the booking. The surveyor did everything he promised and I could not be happier with the hassle free service.
I instructed Miller Metcalf for this survey because they provide a phone call after the survey and also provide quick results. Unfortunately the surveyor did phone me but he could not get off the phone quick enough, and everytime I asked a question, he said " the details of that will be in the report". I e would not really provide any meaningful info for discussion. The report nearly a week to come through, rather than the 2+days I was promised when I engaged Miller Metcalf.
Therefore I would not use Miller metcalfe again and could not recommend other profiessional investors to yourselves for survey purposes. I would have expected better from a large company with a good reputation.
Relying on the surveyors comments to help us with final decisions about the purchase we thought initially that we had had a good survey done and that it was helpful. But some things were mentioned in the verbal update (which we had to chase them for on the day) but never made it into the written report and some things that were noted as being in need of doing were then once looked into very minor problems. So once we had discovered this we did not fully trust what the surveyor had written. This was disappointing for us as it was obviously one of the largest purchases we will make in our lifetime and we trusted the professional to give us the information we needed. Sadly we would not recommend them.
paid for home buyer survey firstly wrong survey for wrong address received then told mine not ready as surveyor not put on scoring. Three times my call was ended whilst being put on hold When finally received noted was unable to check gas/electric meter as under stairs and that was full of belongings. Under the stairs there was a cardboard box and the meters were actually in the living room! plus there were other things that had not been noted that were obvious. I spoke to my solicitor who advised that a thorough job had not been done I complained to miller Metcalfe who agreed to do a full structural survey if I paid the difference. The full structural survey was completed I was very pleased with the man who did it he rang with a full verbal report and I received a very in depth report he also apologised for the previous surveyor and agreed things had been missed. So to sum it up if I bought another house I would not use this company again and as advice for homebuyers if you can stretch to it a full structural survey is advised as the homebuyers survey only pointed out things that you know.
The survey that was done on Bramcote Avenue Iwas not imprest with. To say tere was Stairs in this Bungalow and evn comented about there condion. What Stairs it is a Bungalow for God sake. Then to point out the Conservatery was single glazed when in fact it is double.
Not imprest at all.
I'm not sure what the responsibilities of the surveyor are so it's possible that the problems that arose when I moved in to the house did not come under his brief. Due to the removal people not arriving at my home in Leicester until after 6.00pm on the moving day it was late evening by the time everything was put in my new house and it was a case of going to bed and getting stuff sorted in the morning. Before going to bed it became clear that the toilet did not flush. I woke up a little after 5.00am with wet feet due to water heavily dripping through the light fitting in the bedroom ceiling. The whole of the loft area had a layer of water over from a leak in the header tank supply pipe it and this had caused a gap between the upstairs ceiling and the rafters holding it up. I took a shower and the shower unit leaked, the water went all over the bathroom floor and came through the kitchen ceiling. When the plumber came he had to fit a complete new toilet because the toilet bowl was cracked on both sides and would likely break. There is a small shed in the back garden where the previous owners had their washing machine, they had a submerged electricity supply to the washing machine but had cut the wire at each end to disconnect it and the water supply was leaking directly into the drain and the neighbours complained to me about the noise of the constant running water. The living room door was hanging off and would not close. The double glazed door in the conservatory had a busted lock. There appears to be gaps in the roof tiles and the rain is being kept out by the tarpaulin underneath. All minor issues individually but taken together have made this a very unpleasant experience. Having paid for a full survey I would have expected some of these issues to be raised.
We called miller metcalfe to survey a property for us that we had our heart set on buying, the surveyor came to the property and contacted me the following morning to give me an overview of his findings, unfortunatly the property needed a lot of work which we werent aware of, so we decided against buying it, £225 for a thorough survey saved us £15,000 worth of repair work for the future and overall saved us wasting our time and money buying a property that was not going to suit us, we were pleasantly surprised when the full report came through 3 days later to see how thorough his investigation actually was, it is definatley value for money as nothing is left off. We have since found another property that we wish to buy, with the excellent service and experience in mind that we had from miller metcalfe we decided to use them again for this property, thank fully this property is in good condition and we are going ahead with the purchase. Im so pleased that we have used this company as we will move in the house confident and happy with a detailed report of every defect/minor issues that may need attention in the future, i completly trust miller metcalfe and would recommend anybody to use them if they are purchasing a property, its given us peace of mind, and we now have a sense of security when moving. Buying a house is a stressfull time but it has been made a lot easier and made us feel more comfortable knowing the property inside out. The service was excellent and our surveyor was very helpful and easy to talk to, and any
Questions i had were answered, our surveyor also had a personal touch and wished us all the luck for the future in our new home and was so pleased that he could deliver some good news for us on the second house, overall very honest and very reasonably priced 5* service!
I wasn't quite sure what to expect having not ordered an important service like this online before but the community reviews were positive and so was my experience. Easy to deal with, thorough survey and very good value. Would recommend.
They contacted me in a professional manor showing a detailed sample of the survey I would receive and true to their word we received a detailed survey which was fully explanatory and easy to understand. I would not hesitate to use their service again and I would highly recommend them.
I found this company very friendly to deal with and they gave a quote that was good value.
They completed the survey swiftly and within the time scale they told me, they also sent us the report when they said they would.
Excellent service and fast delivery.
I had no problems with Miller Metcalfe Surveyors they undertook my home buyers survey on the day agreed and provided me an electronic copy of their findings in an easy to read and proffesional looking report.
I would use them again and recommend them to a friend without question
fantastic service. did two homeownwer surveys on two different properties. Saved me a costly purchase with one house.
surveys were carried out within 2 days and immediate telephone report given with a full written report to follow by email.
would use again anytime.
We were not happy with the service
Sadly my second experience of using this company was not as good as the first.
Promised verbal feedback within 24 hours was not given. A call to the office received the response that within 24 hours did not necessarily mean the next day!
The response from the surveyor was that he liked people to have the written report before giving verbal feedback despite the fact that the very same surveyor previously had rung within 24 hours when we had a survey on another property.
The surveyor also promised to email some information but this took 2 calls before it was received. By then it was too late to be of use.
All in all very disappointing.
