ordered/despatched/delivered...sleeping bags

Ordered 2 Eurohike 500 down sleeping bags on the 10th/04/2014. they were just delivered..14/04/2014. Perfect service and perfect price. would use these again as i think the online service is better than their shops in our local town were, although when i have had any issues, before they have been seamless in their customer service. thank you Millets(part of Blacks)

Dreadfull service, Like Dell boy on a bad day.

Ordered, paid, so far 10 days wait, no goods yet. Ordered as present, birthday been and gone. I live in Devon not Outer Mongolia, how hard can it be to deliver one jumper? Obviously too difficult for Millets. Never again will I bother them by spending my money with them as it plainly causes them problems they cannot cope with, it's called service. Wish I'd read reviews about them before placing order.

Still give great service.

I always get good advice when I go to my local store. The students who they employ seem to know more about camping than the people who run the company!

Worst customer services ever...appalling service!

I was sold a camp bed that was minus a pole! I tried phoning the shop...no answer! Tried phoning customer services...no answer! Took bed back next day and was refused a full refund because I lost receipt. I was served by the same woman, and the camp bed had the Millets tag on it. The camp bed WAS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE! clue is in the title. As far as I am aware if something is sold and it doesn't do what it is supposed to it can be taken back as long as within a set period of time. I am very angry! I was made to feel stupid and bullied into an exchange. I didn't want an exchange. I even asked the manager to ring customer services and she couldn't get through either. Customer services are also not fit for purpose!! I have written a complaint to customer services who have not even bothered answering. I sent email over a week ago!

Shop keepers don't know what they have in store and are rude. Will not be shopping at the Oxford branch again. Cheaper else where any way.

Worst ever online shopping experience

Ordered item on 10.02. for shop delivery. Finally received email to pick up on the 20.02. Went to shop on 25.02. - item nowhere to be found. Sales assistant very helpful and phoned customer services. They said item was signed for at the shop but sales assistant did not recognize the name of the person who signed for it. Also customer services refused to refund my payment as the item was delivered to shop.
Raised claim via paypal - not surprising still waiting for Millets reponse. Today 04.03. received email from millets that I apparently picked up the item and everything is fine now...... Back on the phone with shop assistant who still havn't received my order (haha) and who phoned head office and asked for refund on my behalf. So we will wait and see if I ever get my money back for an item never received.......

Where is the Christmas Spirit II

Over the last 15 years + my family and I have been loyal customers of Millets in Bristol..
As usual I was shopping late on Christmas Eve 2013 and purchased some Wellie Boot Inserts for £8 as a gift.
The friend was pleased with the gift but the size was incorrect so tried to exchange them without the receipt. She was told they could not do this and the purchaser would have to return them.
I was unable to return to the shop until 25th Jan 2014 and I was told because I was One Day Late there was nothing they could do for me…
I was very upset with this reply so I wrote to Millets customer care and again was told I cannot have my money back, nor a credit note!

“I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with our returns policy.
As your receipt has gone past the returns period we are unable to accept the item back from you. This includes returns made for an exchange or store credit”.

I cannot understand this policy of Millets as all my friends have been informed of this very poor service and have agreed that they will no longer shop at Millets…Where is the customer care!!

Excellent customer service and returns policy

I bought a pair of Adidas Barricade tennis shoes from Millets, which is wore twice a week over a 5 month period in summer 2013. By the end of the summer the sole of the right shoe was wearing away at the toe and I contacted Millets by phone, who informed me that I was entitled the a 6 month Adidas sole guarantee. I returned the shoes (free post) to them and within 7 days had the money refunded to my bank account. Excellent service - very impressive.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - COMPLAIN VIA FACEBOOK!

I bought a pair of waterproof walking boots from Millets online in September 2013. The first time I wore them water penetrated the left boot so I returned them to Millets for a refund. I then spent 4 months waiting for my refund. Everytime I rang or emailed them l was told that the boots were with the manufacturer and I that I would have to be patient. Finally I posted a complaint on Millet's Facebook page and, lo and behold, I had my refund within an hour. I would advise any dissatisfied Millets customers to use Facebook to complain as the normal channels are completely ineffective.

APPALLING customer service unhelpful,

Ordered item online for collection at store. My wife ordered 2 items also for collection at store. We assumed that as same surname & address was on all 3 orders it would be no problem. Esp. as I signed printout of my order also sent my credit card with my wife to collect all 3. They flatly refused to let my wife collect my order, even when she explained that due to a recent operation on my right shoulder I cant get out much. Supervisor also refused. She told my wife I should have designated someone else to collect it as there is provision on web site for this.Total nonsense. We have both looked hard and cant find this. I'll now have to struggle in to town to collect it person or let it rot in their store. Store person couldn't even get that right said it would be held for 28 days but delivery note says 14.
Delivery to store wasn't very fast either. Altogether a very unpleasant shopping experience that has put me off ever ordering from them again.

WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE THEM A STAR.

I ordered two fleeces for next day delivery at 1pm, the next day I had no dispatch email and after emailing the company, I was told it would take 3days to get a response, which is not good as I had paid for a next day delivery. I then called the customer service team, had someone very helpful who called the warehouse and my order was NOT REVIEWED IN TIME which is a failure on millets side. I was then promised it would leave the warehouse today, which surprise surprise after waking up to no email, I called again and the man was very UNHELPFUL and said he could not contatct the warehouse or anything or the sort. He told me my order would be dispatched today, but when I challenged his ability to tell me this he said, he could not guarantee it. Poor customer service today and I am not holding high hopes to ever receiving my items.

Very poor customer services

I bought a five man tent from Millet online. It failed the first time used with water leaking in, soaking everything inside and cutting our holiday short. After asking customer services what I could do I returned it to my local store. At that point I was told it needed to be sent for inspection to confirm a refund. After a month of waiting I finally found out by calling customer services myself that it had been sent to the manufacturer for inspection but they wouldnt do that becasue it was damp (of course it was because it failed!). Millets refused to do anything to help and simply said I had to pick up the tent and clean and dry it to waste my time even more and not sure how I'm going to do that it is so big. I asked to speak to a manager and was told someone would call me back - they didnt even have the courtesy to do this. Ridiculous situation that Millets were not willing to take any responsibility and do anything for their customer. I will not be buying anything from Millets in future.

On-line order CANCELLED again !! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I made an order online on the 29th October 2013, for 3 half zip fleeces on a 3 for £20 offer. ALL showed as in stock, so expected them to be delivered within a week. On the 6th November, I called their customer support who said that one of the items I ordered was out of stock. They asked IF I was prepared to wait a while to see if more stock would be coming into their warehouse - I said I would wait a further 7 days. I phoned back a week later, and lo and behold there was now two items out of stock!! Apparently their website takes 24 hours to update stock levels, so they NEVER have an idea what is actually in stock, OR out of stock. They are however prepared to take your money on ordering and offer refunds on a massive scale?. This is WRONG, and I am sick of having to chase orders up from online companies like Millets. IF they do NOT have any stock of an item, then DON'T advertise it for sale on their website. QUITE A SIMPLE ETHIC, and fair. I would class this as very poor customer service, and customers do order in good faith. Its time Millets had some faith in their customers as their shops are closing all over the Country - and I am not surprised, looking at this issue alone!

Don't think they deserve 1 star. Completely useless

Paid for a tent 2 weeks ago after a series of incompetence and poor communication still no tent. Purchased in store and store are refusing a refund. Must be in breach of contract, will be contacting trading standards tomorrow.

Absolutely brilliant!

fantastic, great service both in stores and online too. Didn't have the jacket I was looking for, so looked online and they had one. No issues with them whatsoever, much prefer them to Field & Trek or similar stores. LOVE THEM. Highly recommend!

Boots failed - would not replace

I bought some serious and quite expensive Goretex walking boots. These were "Peter Storm", Millets own brand. After two years of light use, perhaps six miles a week, the leather split along the join to the soles, on both boots. The holes were two inches long. I had taken reasonable care of the boots and kept them polished.

I took them into Millets and they said there was nothing they could do. I insisted that they pass them back up the line so that their quality control people could assess them. They phoned me back after a month to say that they would not replace or even offer a partial refund.

I also bought a Peter Storm waterproof jacket a while back. Some of the seams have come apart due to poor workmanship.

Can't give zero stars or I would!!

Avoid this company like the plague! Their customer service for aftersales and returns is a joke. I returned a jacket via Collect + and have just had to contact Millets to find out what's going on with my refund. They said it's due to high returns after Christmas, but I've returned items to Clarks and BHS, and my refunds have shown up in my bank account 2-3 days after the parcel was received. With Millets, they received my returned item 10 days ago and I'm still waiting on a refund. First and last time I will shop with these clowns.

rubbish and rude

What appalling service.
I spent £166 on shoes in this store today. They were useless at finding shoes. I asked for a size 7-we don't have it. So I go and pick up the shoe on display and say-this is a 7. Where is the other one? Oh I'll go and look-10 minutes-oh yes we do have 7s.
Complete morons.Who do you employ?
Then I pick up a North Face coat. It says on the label £180 reduced to £15. I go to buy it. They refuse to sell it to me. They then accuse ME of changing the label-which THEY wrote. Appalling. Rude. The manager tells me it is her right to withdraw the sale. I expect the £15 to be honoured as it was their problem, It was on sale for £15. Please contact me about this asap.

Refund hassle!

I double checked the refund policy on a base layer top and it was agreed that I could return the item to a Millets store, so I purchased 2 sizes online. They did not have the base layer top in any of the stores that I checked at. The Manager stated that they do not refund underwear! (He said that they would refund tea shirts!) It was very frustrating. The rest of the staff were sympathetic and agreed that they would feel upset if they had been mal-informed. One of them was a bit shocked at the price I had paid. The manager made various phone calls to head office and other stores in an attempt to find out who had reassured me that they would refund it. it took considerable time for him to eventually agree to refund. I felt very upset. at the time it took.

I can not find anything in the refund policy on the web that states that they do not refund items that they consider to be underwear.

Sorry Millets, I am unlikely to shop at Millets again because I don’t use shops that have refund hassles.

Buyer beware

I went into the Dundee branch to buy a Vango Fusion sleeping bag advertised in the shop at £32.49 less 20% as it was in the sale.
At the till they tried to charge me £46.
The manager refused to honour his price ticket and Customer Service were no help either, all they kept saying was "This does not break any regulations of trading standards, and the store are within their right to restrict the sale"
At the same time the company WWW was offering the bag at £32.49, so I can't think where the £46 came from.
The advice I give is not to expect too much in the way of customer care and watch carefully what the final price is.
