This company advertises promotional products at discounted prices that they don't have in stock.
I placed an order which they accepted payment for only to be told the product they were promoting with 50% discount wasn't actually available. They offered me alternative products that were half the Recommended Retail Price of what i had ordered.
I contacted the citizens advice bureau and they told me that this activity is know as bait advertising, its considered to fraudulent is illegal and banned under Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations (2008).
They advised me that i should report the company to trading standards and the office off fair trading for them to investigate further.
When I told there customer services representative this they could not have cared less and told me to go ahead and report them!!!!
Avoid at all costs; if somethings to good to be true it usually is;
I placed an order on Friday and on Wednesday the order was still showing as "Processing". When I rang up customer service I got told it's going to take another week for the shoes as they don't even have them in stock!
If it wasn't for the fact I'm saving over £20, I'd have definitely cancelled the order.
P.s. don't use their 0845 number, use 020 8732 7340 instead.
Ordered 2 trainers for gym, one not instock so others didnt get sent either, waiting for stock on a item that didnt say it wasnt in stock.
I dont order from shops that dont have stock check active on there website because of issues like i have now so this will be my 1st and last tme i order from milletsports.
I will most likely use them again but I will call before ordering to confirm they do indeed have trainers in stock
I bought a pair of walking boots from milletsports and a few days later I logged on to the website do see what was happening with my order; it was still being 'processed'.
I contacted them to find out what is going on and they gave me a load of excuses about the item not arriving from the supplier due to 'unexpected delay' and told me it would be at least another 7 days before my boots arrived.
When I spend over £100 on an item and the website says 24hr delivery I expect the service I have paid for. It is quite simple really; if you don't have an item in stock then DO NOT list it for sale!
I am also very suspicious about all the positive reviews here - so many are giving a maximum 5 stars and offer excessive praise for how good the website and customer service is....... May I suggest perhaps spending less time trying to manipulate your online feedback profile and more time providing good customer service?
Where do you start with my experience of Millet Sports??
Well its my first (& last) time I will be ordering from these muppets. I ordered a Suunto Ambit 2 watch, only for the item to be kept in processing for 48 hours, even though my money had been taken. I contacted their customer service & to be fair got a response quite quickly, but then began the email tennis, with the usual morose responses, "It'll be shipped today" "Our shipping is usually quicker than this" " We'll do our best to get it to sooner"
Anyway, after threatening to cancel, they upgraded my shipping to next day 100% PROMISE!!!
I didn't hear anything back from them in 24 hours, so I contacted them, only for another dumb ass to tell me the watch will be another week!!!
In reality I should of just purchased the watch from a good company like Amazon, than attempting to save a few £'s with idiots like these.
The sooner companies like Millet Sports go under, the better.
I placed an order for a pair of boots on May 20th. Got a shipping notification on May 24th. Today may 31th the boots still haven’t arrived in Belgium. Contacted the customer service department told them that it was a gift for mine girlfriends birthday on June 1th. They told me that shipping to Belgium will take 7-10 working days but that it can build up till 21 working days (which is over 1 month)
Mine general internet experience is that shipping from the UK to Belgium is fast (normally around 5 working days starting from the orderplacement.I also find that 4 days to process an order is not fast at all.
What bothers me most is that they don’t respond to the fact that I really needed the product and that some-one will be disappointed not receiving a birthday gift. And also the facts that they don’t propose any action except waiting till the 21 working days have been expired.
For me customer’s service is trying to meet customers’ expectations and propose solutions. In mine mind mine expectations are not exceptionally (other UK based companies have done 5 days delivery (from order till delivery at mine home) on many occasions. Doing nothing (except telling the customer to sit and wait (at the maximum one month) till the goods will arrive is no customer service at all.
After a week of waiting for the trainers and no communication received. Then I emailed and put in a call and was finally told it would take another 4 days. Then I received an email saying they didnt have stock and I could have an 'upgrade' to a different pair of shoes. When I looked into it the 'upgrade' it was for a cheaper item and they were available for half the price on amazon. Having emailed twice more to find out what they could do, I finally get a response saying they had tried to contact me by phone (No you didnt) and email. I then called to get a refund and was told it would take 5 days!!! They're prompt if they have stock but its not worth the risk of 3 weeks with nothing, I wont use them again and wouldnt recommend them.
Having been disappointed by 2 well known mail order sports companies in the past 3 weeks, Millet Sports have given me exceptional service. I phoned to check stock levels on Thursday, and the sales rep assured me they were in stock and would be delivered by courier the following day. Friday morning, I received my order as promised.
Sports Direct and Barringtons both advised me that items were in stock, yet 2 weeks later, I had still not received my order. Nobody attempted to email me regarding the delay of my order. In the end, I cancelled orders with both companies. Very disappointing, but fortunate to have stumbled across Millet Sports.
With Millet Sports, my experience was very different. From the moment the sales rep took my call to the day of delivery, I was informed at all times on the status of my order. I will not hesitate to use this company again and would highly recommend them.
I am sorry to hear some have had bad experiences, however, I urge you to try again by making a simple phone call to them regarding stock levels and delivery before placing the order.
Ordered a pair of trainers in January. After paying online received an email a few days later saying the item was not in stock. Obtained a refund.
Ordered again in February when trainers were back in stock but after 2 weeks nothing received. Phoned Millets Sports who said they were again out of stock and I would have to wait another 2 weeks, so 4 weeks total. Still waiting.
They had the product at the absolut best price in the market (sale). From ordering to delivery i took one week (UK to DK).
Only issue was that from the charge of the order amount on my creditcard until I received the dispatch information, it took 2 days....and I therefire wondered if they only charged my account and never would send the product.
One year later I had a warranty case. Instead of sending me a replacement (they didn't have the 2011 model in stock, but could have returned a 2012 model) the returned they amount paid initially. So if you make a good deal on sale at them, you can't be sure to get a replacement if it's cheaper for them to make a refund in a warrenty case and your are then forced to buy the product again at a higher price (at their site if you dare).
Ordered 3 things 23 Sept 2012... no response after a week so emailed 4 times before I received a response. Then received an email with one item out of stock but the other 2 ready to be dispatched. cancelled the out of stock item and asked for other items to be dispatched. 3 days later no parcel! Emailed again and received a response that one of the items was out of stock!
I ordered a pair of trainers on tuesday, they were in a colour I could not find anywhere else and they cost 10% less than the RRP. Even though the postage was free they arrived in just 2 days. I will definitely buy from Millet Sports again!
Place an order with Millet sports last year for a pair of New Balance shoes, 2 weeks later and still no shoes, when i phoned customer services they told me they were out of stock so I cancelled. Decided last week to give them another chance and ordered a pair of head tennis shoes and a nike t shirt. Five days later and the order has still not been despatched even though payment was taken straight away. Never using Millet sports again! Direct sports far better order normally arrives within 2 days without paying for express delivery!
If you need an item quickly then avoid Millet sports!
First ordered goods from this site back on March 5th - It took them a week to respond reference delivery and the fact that they were out of one of the items I ordered - it took yet another 4 days for them to admit that they couldn't supply and so they offered another item - I accepted next day and yet I have only just received confirmation of dispatch with a delivery of the 26th March! - 3 weeks from taking my money to getting anything near satisfaction is atrocious for an Internet company where speed should always be a priority - I would think long and hard when dealing with this company as customer service/satisfaction is obviously not a priority
I bought a cricket ball for my nephew's birthday and was really disappointed when it arrived.
Firstly, it shouldn't have been delivered to my house as I asked for it to get sent straight to my nephew's address so it would arrive in time for his birthday.
Secondly, the product looked nothing like the photo - a poor quality, cheap looking ball arrived in nasty plastic packaging, that I would feel embarrassed to give.
Thirdly, the team I dealt with at Millet Sports were unhelpful and unconstructive in resolving my issue.
I initially asked for the p&p back as it was sent to an incorrect address. When Millet repeatedly ignored this request, I was successful in getting a full refund for the item (as well as p&p) through eBay.
They thought by just ignoring me I would go away - wrong! Avoid using Millet Sports!!
Looked specifically for a non-marking sole in a NIKE shoe and found the NIKE City Court shoe stated it was non-marking. Brought them only to discover they mark easily and vividly. Don't blame Millet they have sent me a return form and shipping label so they are doing all they can. The shoe fits really well but I just can't use them at my club - I will get shot.
Ordered a Christmas present - I was sent the wrong item - returned it - the same wrong item came back - third time I received the right item - in January when it was on sale - and no refund for the return postage! Won't use them again.
This is the worst internet experience I have had to date. I ordered a tennis racket 9 days ago and as the racket was for my sons birthday a week later I rang to find out what the delivery time would be to Rep of Ireland. 3/5 days was the reply. Five days after the order I rang again for a tracking number and was told that the item had to come from their warehouse to be strung and had not yet been dispatched. Customer services apologies and said the item was due back tomorrow and as a jester of good will would also send some additional tennis balls. Yesterday I received an e-mail confirming that the order had been dispatched. The racket with complementary magazine (not tennis balls). However, although I have a tracking No the courier company confirms that 9 days after ordering, the item has still not been dispatched from Milletsports. My sons birthday was two days ago. Get your act together this is pathetic. You don't deserve to be in business. How can you have a rating of 9/10..rubbish.
Cannot fault service. Delivery in 2 days, excellent value.
I found the whole experience of ordering and delivery great and would recommend using Millets to anyone. I will certainly use them again. First class service all round.
