RIP OFF CASHBACK CON

Dont touch this company they have no intention of paying cashback despite sending the bills at stated times no payment. My advice is to steer clear of this company . But if you are as unfortunate as me and my wife as to be already tied to contact send every monthly bill to them keep your records and consult a solicitor if cashback is not paid. Cant wait for our conning contract to end they are a disgusting company KEVIN ROBINSON

Tried cheating by sending me old / used phone

Just received my samsung galaxy S4, beware it was old or refurbished phone with screen protector already on the phone and they pretended that it was new phone and send it to me. Can't believe it, not happy with them. Do not trust mobile phone direct and make sure you call you relevant handset maker and find out using ur IMEI if that has ever been used. I found screen protector already stuck to it so I realised they have send me used phone.
Now I have to go to post office the arrange for special deliver and send it back to them using my money which they say that they will refund back. Then once they receive it they will dispatch new phone ( not sure if they will try cheating again and send old or refurbished phone) within 3 days, till then my line rental will still be applicable as the contract is already active ( according to mobile phone direct they will refund the line rental - hope so but not guaranteed)
In short they I should get my phone may be next week or so, and still not sure if I would have new phone or they will use their trick of sending refurbished phone pretending to be new.
It is a hassle waste me time, phone calls and also give me an undue stress till I get my phone.
I expected them to be much better than this...as it was their fault and tried cheating they should have send a courier guy with a new phone and replaced it with the old phone, but as expected they can't as they will still try sending me old phone, I don't trust them.
Will keep you guys posted but do no trust them and don't assume that they will send you brand new phone, verify with ur handset maker.

Ordered my phone which came next day and sim was activated straight away I was a bit concerned after reading reviews I wouldn't get free gift Xbox one but to my surprise it arrived this morning 18 days after receiving phone. Overall very happy and would reccomend as best deal I found and had no problems

Waiting 3 months on PS4 Bundle!

Five phone calls all over 30mins long because getting through is mad! No straight answers from call advisors! No emails back! I see other reviews here where people have been offered alternative bundles, I haven't even had an email saying your order is delayed. It's understandable the PS4 is in high demand but don't make someone wait three months without any form of reply. I would appreciate it if someone from MPD would contact because I have wasted enough time trying to contact you.

**Update: The company did contact me this morning 05/04/14 and the PS4 has been promised to arrive next week, I will improve rating if PS4 arrives on time. Thank you Duncan Colquhoun for your quick repsonse.

Okay ... In the end...

It took me two weeks to get the phone I wanted in good condition, not quite the next day delivery they stated.

I ordered on a Sunday night, the company state a Tuesday delivery. On Tuesday morning I received an email saying that the Network Checks were down, so they had to delay the delivery by one day. The phone arrived on Wednesday (it was a refurbished phone, but MPD quote "perfect condition") the phone was covered in deep scratches. I was advised to send the phone back for a replacement. I posted it back on Thursday and MPD received it on Friday. It got to Tuesday and I heard nothing about the phone replacement. I called up and was told someone would call me back at 11am, low and behold, no phone call back. So I phoned back up and was told one would be sent to arrive on Wednesday. Thursday morning I recieved a message saying the phone was out of stock. I rang customer services and they said it could take several weeks for a phone to arrive. They told me they'd speak to a manager and call back, again, they didn't call back. I called back again and they offered me a white phone and I accepted as I wasn't too fussed on colour. Phone arrived today and I'm fairly happy! I don't get why MPD advertise phones on the website when they are out of stock.

Of course MPD have a premium rate phone number, but I'm lucky enough to have free calls to these numbers, so I was able to keep calling and hassling them. I have to say that everytime I spoke to someone, they were polite and kind, just not good at getting stuff done!

Very quick delivery, Good email communication - Cash can't be judged

Cashback Payment Take almost 30 days and do not even get the right amount

I ordered the phone is October, everything was fine, however do not believe that the phone comes next day if ordered before whatever time, mine came 5 days later so beware. My main concern is that the cashback payments take a month to come thorough and you get the payments WHICH YOU HAVE TO EMAIL FOR. They pay in intervals of 6 months, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, however they take 30 days to make the payment and not a day earlier. So add another month on to each of them. I have just received my cash back and its £12 so by the time I get the right amount ill probably be on my 3rd contract with another mobile operator.

Good Delivery on Phone - Free gift service leaves a lot to be desired

i signed up to a vodafone contract on February 27th and as part of the deal i am to receive a free gift - namely a PS4 + Killzone package.

I received a call from one of the customer service team on Wednesday 19th March, but unfortunately missed the call. I called back to learn that there had been a PS4 + Assassins Creed package available, but unfortunately as i'd missed the original call, they were now out of stock.

I was frustrated that i wasn't able to pick up the original call, but was told that there should be more stock available early the following week, so i was ok with this.

By Wednesday 26th March i had not received a call and so called the contact centre (on a premium number). After explaining the situation with the operator they left the call to find out what progress had been made with one of their colleagues.

On returning to the call i was informed that there was 13 PS4 + Assassins Creed packages back in stock, that i was on the list of customers to call (I was told that i was 13th on the list) and that i should expect a call either on Thursday 27th or Friday 28th March to arrange delivery.

I waited during this time, but received no call.

I then called the contact centre again on the Evening of Friday 28th March to be told that the responsible person had left for the day, but to call back on Saturday 29th.

I refused to do this, firstly because when calling the call centre it costs a fortune, secondly, because i am forced to wait for 10 minutes before anybody picks up and finally because i had been told that they would call me (which i would expect as part of their service).

It is now the 2nd of April and i still have not received a call to let me know when i can expect my free gift.

I sent an email outling all of the above to mobile phone direct and received an automated reply saying they'd get back within 24 hours and guess what... I'm still waiting.

So to sum up, they seem to be alright with phones and offer good deals, but if you're hoping for a free gift i wouldn't hold out much hope.

Can't fault service

I have just taken out contract through mobile phones direct with Samsung galaxy note 3 . Ordered on Sunday night , account updated online as order progressed .I didn't have to face any phone calls regarding credit checks. Email on Monday pm, letting me know my phone would be sent next day, which it was.

I now have my lovely shiny new phone to play with and can't fault the service I've received. I was somewhat concerned having read other reviews, but I needn't have worried.

Oh just to say, when I didn't get message giving me tracking number for phone being sent, I emailed company and got reply within an hour giving me tracking number...I think that was pretty good service.

Excellent service, excellent price

After a long running dispute with Vodafone who eventually told me they would not fix the problem and I should go elsewhere I found Mobile Phones Direct offering a Nexus 5 on contract with EE at an exceptionally good price. A 2 days delay in delivery because the phone was out of stock but arrived the day after I phoned them already connected. Just put in the SIM and away we went. Got PAC code from Voda to transfer number and next day it was all done. So now I have an up-to-date phone on a 4G network at lower price than I paid before the move.

Very good I went to mobile direct cause there were so much cheaper then every where else

I broke my contract phone at carphone warehouse the galaxy s4 carphone warehouse offered me a 10% discount on my next purchase which was no help at all cause there retail price is £460 no help from them at all! So I searched around online and found mobile direct UK there retail price is £330 much better i ordered over the phone came two days later would of been next day delivery but they do security checks on people who buy simfree phones which at first was strange I had to send photo ID and proof of address that tuck a day to clear and then they sent out my phone. Was very happy with phone and the brilliant price I got it for thank you mobile direct!

Good service

I found this company using USwitch when I was looking for a good deal to get a new iPhone. I found the one I wanted very quickly and the order was done. It was processed quickly and delivery was very prompt with good supporting communication. I would say that I think the phone could have been better packaged for postage though as there wasn't any padding to protect it during transit. However, I would still buy from them again in future.

Excellent service, fast and efficient

I looked around for a good while and read lots of reviews before deciding to go ahead with a deal on an iPhone 5S which I was happy with. There was no upfront cost on the 'phone and I completed the easy online order process around 2.30pm on Wed 26th March. I received emails straight away confirming my order was being processed, then ready for despatch with a final email early the next day advising I would receive it via courier that day. Which I did. Just under 24 hours later. The whole experience was very positive and I would have no hesitation in recommending Mobile Phone Direct.

Bargain Deal on iPhone 5C

Could not bring myself to spend £30 or above for an iPhone but after a weekend of searching and resigning myself to getting an iPhone 4S Found an excellent deal on an iPhone 5C only £20 per month.

Disappointing!

After ordering on the 11th of Feb my phone was delivered promt and thought I was in for a good service with the awards this company has. Unfortunately it took until the 24th of March to receive my free gift ( PS4), after three phonecalls and some kind of mix up at their end. Customer services were always polite through this though. After opening my PS4 I found it was broken,it had a flashing blue light and no display on the screen. I immediately phoned Sony customer services and they confirmed it was broken. It it now being repaired by Sony as I am not willing to wait so long for a replacement from Mobile phones direct. I also want to add the security seals were also broken and the 14 day free Ps Plus subscription was missing.
I think I'm done with ordering online now, such a shame I was going to recommend them to my friends.

Good service would recommend

Had my reservations reading the reviews and the offer seemed too good to be true but after the initial delay regarding network credit checks my order was dispatched and received next day as promised. I have had confirmation through from Tmobile of tariff and everything is exactly as described.

The only criticism I would have is, it is not easily clear what restrictions apply to fair usage. This is a criticism of Tmobile as much as mobile phones direct but easier key points would be a great aid to customers.

Dismissive, Unprofessional, Rude, Responsibility Shifters

Do not use this company to purchase a mobile phone or anything for that matter. They appear to accept no liability or responsibility for any faulty goods they provide since I keep requesting justification from themselves as to why and they keep sending me back to the manufacturer. I have had the same fault 3 times and all they will do is say "send it back to manufacturer". Should I keep wasting my money sending it back just to get a replacement that will develop the same fault, and have downtime on a phone I am paying for; I don't think so. When I ask for a different model of same specification and bundle as when I took out the contract, they say they cannot do that even though they have a stack of phones in their office. Their customer service is shocking, rude on the phone and the only email correspondence I have had is a 3 lined email that wasn't even spelt right! Best paying that little bit more for a company that will actually give a second thought about its customers.

MISLEADING

When my phone arrived the box of the phone looked filthy as if it had been left to roll around the floor. Also a month on, the monthly charge for my phone is 74 pence higher than stated on the site. Might not be much but this website should honor what it says especially when it comes to your account. Customer service is awful has you waiting forever and key options send you all over the place, even asking you to select the same query twice over, not giving the option to directly speak to an adviser. The "free gift" gimmick is also a cheeky extra as it is stated allover the site but it really only applies to a few deals, it even mentioned a "free gift" on my checkout screen along with the rest of my order details but as expected it was just a false enticement.
