Selected my exchange phone online, printed the paperwork, sent the phone - no silly emails - payment arrived with in a week - what more could you ask???
New iPhone 4S 3 months old, perfect working order they quote 216, then say it has severe scratches and needs a new screen so can only pay 126!!! Heard this before if not read a couple of comments below....if my property is not back with me in 48 hours I will be taking this further, does anyone else want to?
I have sold my phone to Mobile Phone EXchange in March 2013, after being promised to be paid GBP 62 pounds. To my surprise, as soon as they received my phone, which was in full working order, they sent me an email with a final price of GBP 10. They sent me lots of pictures that did not look like my phone and mentioned several faults which my phone did not have before it left my residence. After receiving their email, I replied and demanded my phone back. After a few weeks of waiting, nothing happened. When I called, they informed me that they had sent me my phone via UPS.
I contacted UPS and they informed me that my phone was going to be dispatched within a couple of days. To my surprise, I received an adulterated package with nothing in it. I immediately reported it to both companies who then told me that an investigation would be taking place. UPS informed that someone was going to collect the empty envelope to help with the investigation. A person came in and collected an envelope. A few days later, I called UPS again to chase up for the resolution and they informed me that a reimbursement has been approved and that I should take that up with Mobile Phone Exchange as they had to send out all the paperwork. Since then, it has been a nightmare. Several months have now passed and I still haven't received my phone or a replacement for it. After several phone calls made and emails that I sent to them, nothing has been done and the customer services doesn't seem to have a clue of what is going on.
I feel frustrated and violated as I was expecting that an smooth transaction would be easy to be completed; however, the problem seems to be getting out of hand.
Quoted £67 for a Nokia N8. Finally got an e-mail three days after I sent the phone quoting £10 due to "severe scratching" on the screen. There were a few minor scraches at the edge of the screen when I sent the phone (I read the description of full working order and "minor scratching' was not mentioned at all), but mpx kindly attached a photo of the "severe scratching" to reassure me that they are right and I am wrong. Unfortunately for them, the photo they sent me was not even a picture of a phone. In fact, I've spent a sizeable proportion of my evening trying to ascertain what it actually is. No luck so far. Needless to say, I have requested the return of my phone. Ignore the good reviews; I very much doubt that they are even real.
My phone has now been returned and sold to Envirofone for the full working order price of £50.06.
Excellent company gave me the price as intimated and money in my account the same day. I would highly recommend them. Have used them more than once.
This company quoted me £123 for a full working order iphone. I had the back of the phone fixed as it was broken (costing me £25) and sent it off special delivery (£6). I recieved an email from them a few days later stating the phone had scrates and a broken back, which made it now worth £26 - less than what I had spent sending it to them! The email had no contact, address, phone number or email address on (was a 'noreply email address') so I had to dig around the website to find an email address. I wrote to them explaining my issues, the photos were definatley not of my phone as far as I was concerned and saying how could these now equate to the phone being worth so little! I read all of the T&C's before sending the phone, and although it does have light scrating, this doesnt make it non working. Anyhow, they then offered me £56! Doubled the amount with just an email! This proves that the phone was worth more & they wanted it, but are just prepared to 'low ball' to get phones cheaply. I then rang up, had the phone reinspected, which they say does have a crack on the back. Currently I am waiting for the phone back, what a useless company and I dont appreciate the opportunities they take to rip people off. I will sell this phone for more than they offer, or ill claim back from royal mail if theyve damaged it, but one suspects Mobile Phone Exchange are a devious bunch of rip off merchants!

We used a compare site and MPX were offering the highest price for our Blackberry (£68). We sent off the handset and a couple of days later we received an email offering us £11 as the 'phone was damaged' this was not the case, and when I called to complain they immediately offered me £32, this company are con men and should be avoided at all costs. We have since sent it to another site (Mazuma) got £58 with no hassle, first class service. To sum up, do not use MPX as they tried to rip us off!

I sent in my Nokia n 8 after being quoted 62 pound.. I know had few scratches too case but phone and screen was perfect... I received email sayin they was then only offering £11 and said it had major crack and phone falling apart. I phoned up too tell them too send it me back and it wasn't broke. The person on phone said its not broke just scratched and they could either send it me back or give me an extra £25 too make it £36 . So I said well why not offer that in the 1st place if that's its value. Too which she wouldn't reply and changed subject. Avoid this site complete rip offs

I sent an iPhone 4 16gb in perfect condition. Not a single mark on the phone, had been kept in a protective case for the year I owned it. I was quoted £131 but they emailed me when the phone reached them to say the quote was only £96 and after inspection they would pay the whole £96 as there was no damage to the handset. £35 off from the original quotation for no reason? Really poor service, I wish I had checked them out before sending my handset, others offered slightly less but get a much better review. Use anyone but this bunch of cheats!

I got a quote from them in regards to my Iphone 3gs 8gb the orgional quote was £58 but what i received when sent was £9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The phone did have a slight crack where the charging doc is but no longer then 1/2 centemetre and for this they are taking a £49.00 reduction!!!!! In the email they sent me with the new quote they stated Major cracks and major wear which would result in a new case needing to be added. I called them this morning and advised how I had read this site and made a complaint about their services. I have even reported them to watch dog!
They are sending me back my phone I just hope they have damaged it,
I really wish I had looked up and read the reviews on here first as I would of never got a quote of them.

I contacted Mobilephonexchange about my Blackberry Curve 8520 which was used but in excellent condition. What a mistake that was. I so wish I had read these reviews before getting a quote from them.
They quoted me £41 and suggested I send it special delivery, which I did at a cost of over £6. I then received an email saying that they had received my phone but the display window had severe scratching and needed to be replaced and offered me £11. They attached a photograph of an extremely damaged screen which was either not my mobile or they had replaced the screen. I was livid. What a total scam. There was nothing wrong with the screen or the condition of the phone. I called them and asked them to return my phone. They said because they pay for the return they could offer me an extra £15 if I let them keep the phone. I said no on principle. I would rather throw it in the rubbish bin that let them have it. Stay well away from this company. What a rip off. I will do business with Mazuma mobile from now on. I know I can trust them.
FYI After the phone was returned, I sent it to Mazuma Mobile and got £44 for it.

I sent off a 4-month old iphone 4 that had been in a case the whole time. I was initially quoted £137. They wrote back claiming that the rear of the case was scratched and only gave me £110!
Furthermore, if I wasn't happy with their "random valuation" they would charge me £10 to send the phone back.
Avoid this company unless you are prepared to sell your phone for a fraction of its value!

I sold my iPhone 3GS 8g thinking that I would have £51 back from my phone!!
Then send my phone costing me £6.50 so it would get there safe! I have an email saying that they are going to give me £8 for my phone !!!! Not happy at all an this is wrong to do this to people!
Terrible business!! Wouldn't have sold my phone for £8 it's not worth it!!!
shocking!!!
Found this company on the internet and was so pleased to get £53 for my Blackberry. Definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to friends,.
was quoated £49 for my BlackBerry Curve, the phone was like new and i well packaged it before i sent it off to them so it would not get damaged, 3 days later i got a email from them telling me that the phone was only worth £15 because i had quoated them the wrong model and the keys were damaged. This was not at all true as i still have the box for the phone which tells me the model and also there was nothing wrong with the keys.and the other thing is they dont even give you the option to decline the quoat they just tell you there going ahead with it, ive used mazuma mobile loads of times and never had this problem so use them if you want to sell your phone.
DO NOT USE MOBILE PHONE XCHANGE!
I recently sent my phone away to this company after I was quoted £79 for my BlackBerry Curve 9360. I waited to receive the free-post envelope and sent away my fully functioning phone, charged and rebooted to factory settings as advised. A few days later I received an email offering me £13 as my phone apparently had 'LCD damage' - the display was all black. They attached photographs to the email showing my phone with a black screen. Knowing fine well my phone was not damaged as that was not the condition I sent it in I demanded they re-examine my phone or send me it back free of charge as there was absolutely no way I was accepting that offer. They then upped the offer to £33. Still unwilling to accept this they said there was nothing further they could offer me as their 'experienced engineers' had examined my phone and found it do be damaged.
I received my handset back today, put the battery in and low and behold my phone works! NO LCD DAMAGE. FULLY FUNCTIONING. I suggest this company hire staff that can actually turn on a phone. Better yet they could stop trying to scam their customers. I am so glad that I stuck to my guns and didn't accept their measly offer, clearly they were out to con me. I am now convinced the original pictures sent to me of the 'damage' were of my phone not even on.
BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME, BUT I'M NOT A MUG!
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!
I was quote £75 for a reasonable Apple iPhone 3GS and only got £12 because they said that the phone was late in arriving (down to the fact that it took them weeks to send me the envelope and address label), minor cracks (where was that in the T&C's?) and a button didn't work, even though I checked the phone before I sent it.
I would stay well away from this scam company and find someone who does what they say on their website, rather than tempting you with an overinflated valuation only to then let you down. Don't use Mobile Phone Xchange is my advice!
Sent them my phone to them a iPhone 3GS was told it was worth £81, I had been in the vodafone shop the day I had sent the phone to get all my contacts put on to my new iPhone 5, the phone was in full working order,3 days later I got a email saying my iPhone 3GS was water damaged and it was now worth £14, I rang them the next day and asked them to send my phone back, so I then sent it on to envirofone, they told me the phone was worth £62, 2days later they told me my phone was in full working order and a payment of £62 had been sent in first class post, just to prove they are a total scam. I have complaint to Vodafone as they recommend them to me.
I sent my phone to them after being quoted £64 for an iPhone 3g.
They say they sent me an email confirming that the phone was only worth £9 and if I didn't reply within 3 days they'd assume I was happy with that.
The thing is I never received that email, I checked all through my pop.3 folders and it was definitely never received.
When I called up to get my phone back they said they'd sent it to Hong Kong and that was it.
I pushed and pushed for a refund and they offered £20!!!
Not a good company...wouldn't recommend to anyone!!
Me and my Wife both sold our phones and we both got the price we were quoted very quick and prompt service would use again .
Don't disregard all the negative feedback as I did. Was offered £51 for a blackberry 8520, posted it off in perfect condition. Received email revising offer to £17 quoting it was scratched. I rang to ask for phone back and was told they could now offer me £37 as they had overestimated costs. I was so disgusted by this appalling method of scamming money from customers that I requested it be sent back. Naturally the perfect screen i sent it with had been replaced with a scratched one. Now the phone is worthless. I have emailed this company at least six times and they tell lie after lie. Avoid this company and advise others to do the same.
I am surprised to see so many negative reviews!!, I recieved the best offer for my Nokia 5800, printed the freepost label off the company's website there and then, posted the phone the same day, logged in to the website 3 days later to discover the handset had been recieved and inspected and the money would be in my account by 5pm the following day!! (I immediately checked my bank account on-line and the money was already there!!..)
VERY PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
Will have NO hesitation recommending Mobilephonexchange to anyone, (or using them again myself..) EXCELLENT!!!!....
Having compared prices on various recycle websites, mobile phone xchange easily beat the competition with their valuation. The envelope arrived the following day for my phone and once received, the phone was checked, value confirmed and payment processed all in one day. Great service.
I was offered more by this company for my Iphone 3gs. Was offered £64, sent it off and received payment straight into bank. Would have liked email advising they had received phone but would recommend.
Was offered £74 for my iphone 3GS, then got an email offering me £12.
They claimed, the phone was damaged. The phone was immaculate when I sent it. When I called to complain, I was offered £20 for the phone! I am furious with this company, I requested the return of my phone, which I received today & indeed there is now a crack in the back. I do not believe it was damaged in the post................
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Sent my perfect iphone 4s 16gb to them after recieving offer of £251. Got email back saying it was not 4s and that it was a damaged iphone 4 and offered me £151 !!!!!!! It was definately a 4s model because it has siri and 8 megapixel camera which the iphone 4 doesn't .To say that I'm seething is an understatement . Going to phone them and sort this shit out.
Says on website will take 2-3 workings days! Just waited 10 and then had to email them asking about it to which i got a reply saying my phone had faulty buttons and could only offer me £116. My phone was 100% in top class working condition befor i sent it! Requested the phone be sent back with immeadiate effect! Got the phone back and suprise suprise ALL buttons were fine! DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!!! will be posting this on every website available and contacting trading standards!
STAY AWAY AS THEY WILL LIE AND STEAL FROM YOU!!!!!
Was quoted £154 for my iPhone 4 16gb thought to myself that's not a bad price so send me the packaging.....two days later popped my phone in the post box, two days after that recieved an email valuing my phone at £154 and a cheque was on its way which has now been deposited into my account.
Thanks for the cash !!!!!
Was offered £48 - best price offered when I compared against other websites. They then said there was water damage (phone has never been in contact with water and working fine for me for the last year up until the day I sent it to them!!) and they offered me £20. Think they are relying on people not being bothered to then request for the phone back and sending to another site but instead taking their terrible second offers (my phone was as good as the day I bought it!).
They could do with a bit more communication - ie: Your phone has been recieved/ Your payment has been processed etc - I only found out I'd been paid when I was invited to leave feedback. However it was a very quick and painless process!
Sent in an iPhone 3gs in and they reduced the amount to be paid from £64 to £9, claiming cracked casing and screen and this is simply not the case. The picture they attached to me do not reflect the handset sent in and the pictured iphone is in better condition than a £9 offering, if damage has occured during transit they should provide better packaging to ensure phones are not damaged in the post.
I went to sell my blackberry 9800 and was told it was worth £80 a couple of days later they made a payment of £7!!!! And emailed me saying the phone wasn't working when it was, no email asking if I would like it sent back or anything absolute waste of time!!!!!
Stay away and do not use there absolute con-men
unfortunately I had to put a one star should be a minus! Stick to Mazuma I've never had problems with them ever
Such a simple and easy transaction, took 10 minutes out of my day to enter the details on the website and then print off a label. Cash was in my bank within 48 hours of posting the phone. The offered sum was in my bank account BEFORE I got the email to tell me it had been paid! Great service, super quick, will use it again and tell others to do the same.
Sold two Nokia phones, an E71 that had been languishing in the drawer for over a year and a newer E5-00. Top prices paid for both, promptly too straight into the bank. Thoroughly recommend their service.
